II CHRONICLES CHAPTER 22

Welcome to the the beginning years of eigtht centuryB.C., the year is 789B.C., and we find the Nation of the House of Israel divided into two separate Nations: The House of Israel consisting of ten TribesReuben, Simeon, Levi, Dan, Naphtali, Gad, Asher, Issachar, Zebulun, Ephraim and Manassehoccupying the Northern territories; and the House of Judah which comprises two TribesJudah and Benjaminand occupying the southern territories. At present, the House of Israel has as its king, king Joram, the grand-son of Ahab; and the House of Judah has as its king, king Jehoahazalso known as, or called Ahaziah, Azariah and\or Joramthe grand-son of Jehoshaphat; however, Jehoahaz will only reign and rule for one year until he is killed and then his mother Athaliah will take over the throne as the Chapter closes. As we are reading in the The Books of the Chronicles, we are reading things in the Esoteric, meaning, we are reading things from Fathers point of view or perspective, or in other words, events viewed from the Divine standpoint, and as seen and understood by the spiritual mind, to take that further, you could say, from the moral aspect, and you could go even further and say, for those with the eyes to see. The reason Father split the Nation into two separate Nations was because of the actions of Israels third man-king, Davids son, Solomonas can be read in I Kings 11:1-11taking unto himself many foreign wives, served their false gods and idols, built altars for those false gods and idols on Fathers Holy mountain, turned his back on Father, which angered Father and caused Father to tell him that He was splitting the Nation into two separate Nations, but not until Solomon returned Home to Him and his son Rehoboam took over the reign and rule of the Nation.

II Chronicles 21 opened with Jehoshaphat as king, but he died in the very first verse. His son Jehoram then took over the throne and the first thing we read of him,, is that he murdered everyone of his brothers, the heads of state and other dignitaries. He did so because they were rebelling against all his unrighteousnessi.e., the re-establishment of the high places, the sodomites and fornicationwhich he, his wife Athaliah and his in-lawsAhab and Jezebelwere bringing upon the Nation. We next read of the Edomites and the Priests rebelling against him, and then a writing from Fathers Prophet Elijahwho had already died and returned Home to Fatherarrived and prophesied to him, that because of all the evilness which he was bringing upon the Nation, he was going to get sick in his bowels, and then die of that sickness. He did indeed die after suffering for 2 years, but before he had, the Philistines and the Arabians came and invaded the Nation and a band of men who came with the Arabians, carried away some of his wives and all his sons, except his youngest son Jehoahaz. So, after being king for only 8 years, and at the young age of 40 years old he was gone and returned Home to Father and the People buried him without a royal funeral or any fanfare.

With that introduction being said, lets go to Father and ask Him for His Blessings on our Study of His Word: Father, I come to You right now and ask that You Oh LORD Lead me and Guide me as I try and teach Your Word, dont allow me to mis-teach or mis-lead Your Children. We, Father, also come to You as a group who desire to Learn Your Word, to thank You for inviting us to Your table in order that we might be able to partake of and receive Your Spiritual Meat, and Father, as we prepare to dine on the sustenance which sustains our inner man, we ask that You Oh LORD open our ears and eyes, that we might be able to hear and see your Truths, open our hearts and minds and prepare us in order that we may receive Your Truth. We Pray for Your Understanding of Your Word, we seek Your Knowledge in Your Word, and most importantly Father, we Pray for and desire Your Wisdom from Your Word, in Jesus Precious name we Pray, thank You Father, Amen.

                                         22:1 Introduction.
1A1
II Chronicles 22:1 And the inhabitants of Jerusalem (founded peaceful; or, the habitation of peace) (Yer-oo-shaw-lahי-im) made Ahaziah (YAH has seized; and, sustained by YHVH) (akh-az-yawי-hoo) his youngest son king in his stead: for the band of men that came with the Arabians (Patrial from H6152; an Arabian or inhabitant of Arab; a country east of Palestine; or, desert or barren) (ar-aw-beeי) to the camp had slain all the eldest. So Ahaziah the son of Jehoram (YHVH raised; and, whom YHVH has exalted) (yeh-ho-rawmי) king of Judah (celebrated; and, praised, celebrated) (yeh-hoo-dawי) reigned.   —>   Ahaziah=Dont let the name Ahaziah throw you off brethren, as this young man has several different names in Fathers Word. We find in II Chronicles 20:17 he is called Jehoahaz, and well find when we come to verse v22:6 below, that he is also called Azariah. All three of these names are interchangeable, think of William and Bill, or Richard and Dick, or James, Jim, and Jimmy.

So anyway, when Ahaziahs father Jehoram was still king of Judah, because of his unrighteousness and weakness, the Philistines and the Arabians came and invaded the territories of Judah, carried off all of Jehorams wivesexcept Athaliah, who must have been home with her parents Ahab and Jezebel at the timesome of his other sonsthink step-brothersand much booty. Along with the Arabians came a band of men who slew all of Ahaziahs oldernaturalbrothers. Being kingless, the People made Jehorams youngest son Ahaziah their new king.

                                                       22:2 Introduction.
1A2
II Chronicles 22:2 Forty and two years old was Ahaziah when he began to reign, and he reigned one year in Jerusalem. His mothers name also was Athaliah (constrained by YAH; or, afflicted of YHVH) (ath-al-yaw-sawfי-hoo) the daughter of Omri (heaping; or, pupil of YHVH) (om-reeי-hoo).   —>   There is much to unpack here brethren. First off, Ahaziah was not 42 when he took over as king of the House of Judah. There is no way he could have been, as his father Jehoram was only 40 years old when he died, that would mean that Ahaziah was born two years before his father was even born, an impossibility. We read in II Kings 8:26 that he was 22 years old when he began his reign and rule over the Nation. Twenty-two was his correct age. Especially considering that his older brothers were either carried off by the Arabians, or killed by the band of men who came with the Arabians.

…he reigned one year…=Twenty-two years old and only reigning and ruling for 1 year before Father had had enough of his antics and had him killed off by Jehu the son of Nimshi, and he returned Home to Father, dying at the age of 23; as such, this Chapter is the only Chapter in The Books of the Chronicles dedicated to his young life, reign and rule.

…Ahtaliah the daughter of Omri=Athaliah was not the daughter of Omri, she was the daughter of Ahab, who was the son of Omri, thus making Athaliah the grand-daughter of Omri. The verse is stated this way because, at the time, there was no Hebrew word for the word grand-daughter.

Athaliah=For a detailed description of Athaliah, including her history, the etymology of her name, the Strongs Concordance definition of her name, and the Smiths Bible Dictionary information, click here.
Omri
Omri=Fathers Word does not provide a parental lineage for Omri, nor does It provide the name of his wife, so the only genealogy we have for Omri is his son, Ahab. Omri was one of the generals of Israels army. He served under kings Baashawho was killed by Jehu on Fathers WordElah then became kinghe was murdered by Zimriwho then became kingwhen the Israelite army heard this news they made Omri king and went to besiege Tirzah where Zimri was, and when Zimri saw that they were coming for him he burnt his house down around him, killing himselfand for a short time was co-king with a man named Tibni the son of a man named Ginath. Half the People of Israel followed Omri and half followed Tibni, but the half which followed Omri prevailed over the half which followed Tibni and Tibni died and Omri reigned. He reigned and ruled Israel for 12 years and was an evil wicked king, committing more unrighteousness than every king before him. For the etymology of the name Omri, we read the following in Abarim Publications: The name Omri has to do with the root cluster עמר: The letter י (yod) upon which our name ends, may either create an adjective (abundant), a possessive form (my sheaf), or may be a remnant of the Tetragrammaton יהוה, YHVH, or Yahveh. For a meaning of the name Omri, New Open Bible Study Edition (NOBSE) Study Bible Name List sees the final yod as a remnant of YHVH. Hence NOBSE reads Yahveh Apportions. Jones Dictionary of Old Testament Proper Names figures that our verb may also mean to serve (apparently in a religious sense). Jones also sees the final yod as a remnant of the Tetragrammaton, and translates Omri with Servant Of The Lord. Brown Driver Briggs (BDB) Theological Dictionary does not offer an interpretation of the name Omri, but lists it under עמר ss(יamar).. Now from the Strongs Concordance, where we find that it is Hebrew word number: H6018, - עָמְרִי, - ‛omrı̂y, pronounced - om-reeי, and means: From H6014; heaping; Omri, an Israelite: - Omri. Total KJV occurrences: 18.. Now from the Smiths Bible Dictionary, where we read: Pupil of YHVH. Originally captain of the host to Elah, was afterward himself king of Israel, and founder of the third dynasty. Omri was engaged in the siege of Gibbethon, situated in the tribe of Dan, which had been occupied by the Philistines. As soon as the army heard of Elahs death, they proclaimed Omri king. Thereupon he broke up the siege of Gibbethon, and attacked Tirzah, where Zimri was holding his court as king of Israel. The city was taken, and Zimri perished in the flames of the palace, after a reign of seven days. Omri, however, was not allowed to establish his dynasty without a struggle against Tibni, whom half the people, I Kings 16:21, desired to raise to the throne. The civil war lasted four years, Compare I Kings 16:15 with 23. After the defeat and death of Tibni, Omri reigned for six years in Tirzah. At Samaria Omri reigned for six years more. He seems to have been a vigorous and unscrupulous ruler, anxious to strengthen his dynasty by intercourse and alliances with foreign states..

                                                   22:3 Events, personal.
1A3
II Chronicles 22:3 He also walked in the ways of the house of Ahab (brother (that is, friend) of (his) father; or, uncle) (akh-awbי): for his mother was his counsellor to do wickedly.   —>   Ahaziahs mother Athaliah and his grand-parents Ahab and Jezebel had a devastating consequence on this young mans life. Obviously he wasnt paying attention to the goings-on of his father and all Father had brought about in his life trying to get his attention. As we read above, he only reigned and ruled for 1 year before Father had had enough of him.

                                                   22:4 Events, personal.
1A4
II Chronicles 22:4 Wherefore he did evil in the sight of the LORD like the house of Ahab: for they were his counsellors after the death of his father to his destruction.   —>   Ahab and Jezebel never listened to Elijah when Father sent him to try and correct their evil ways, not even after He brought calamity in their lives and upon the Nation of the House of Israel for their causing all Israel to sin. They kept on serving and worshipping baal and taught their daughter and grand-son to do the same, and now young Ahaziah is causing the Nation of the House of Judah to be just as evil.

The L ORD=This Title of Father as used here in this verse, is Father in His Role of יְהֹוָה, YHVHfrom Dr. Bullingers Companion Bible Appendices: YHVH, YAHVEH, or YEHOVAHthe sacred and personal name of Father. While Elohim is God as the Creator of all things, YEHOVAH is the same God in covenant relation to those whom He has created (compare II Chronicles 18:31). YEHOVAH means the Eternal, the Immutable One, He Who WAS, and IS, and IS TO COME. The Divine definition is given in Genesis 21:33. He is especially, therefore, the God of Israel; and the God of those who are redeemed, and are thus now in Christ. We can say My God, but not My YEHOVAH, for YEHOVAH is MY God..

                                                22:5-9 Events, public.
1A5
II Chronicles 22:5 He walked also after their counsel, and went with Jehoram (YHVH raised; and, whom YHVH has exalted) (yeh-ho-rawmי) the son of Ahab king of Israel (he will rule as YAH; or, the prince that prevails with YAH) (Yis-raw-aleי) (secondary map) to war against Hazael (EL has seen; or, whom EL sees) (khaz-aw-aleי) king of Syria (From the same as H758 the highland; Aram; and, elevated; to be high) (arawmי) at Ramoth-Gilead (heights of Gilad; and, heights of Gilead) (ram-othי gil-awdי): and the Syrians smote Joram.   —>   Like his grand-father Jehoshaphat went with Jorams father Ahab to go to Ramoth-gilead to war against Ben-hadad the king of Syria back in II Chronicles 18, we see Ahaziah now joining with his uncle Joramhis mothers brotherto go to war against Hazael the king of Syria. At least Ahaziahs grand-father had the good sense to first seek Father YHVH as to whether they should go to warthough he did not take the counsel of Fathers True Prophet Zedekiah and it almost cost him his lifehere, Ahaziah doesnt even allow the thought to first seek counsel from Father to pass through his mind, he is so far away from Father. We read in here and in II Kings 8:28 that Joram was wounded during this battle against Hazael.

Ramoth-gilead=Remember, Ramoth-gilead was part of the territories of the ten northern Tribes. Ramoth-gilead was Fathers gift to Israel, it was one of the cities of refugein other words, it was a sanctuary city; whereby, should some one accidentally kill somebody, they could flee to Ramoth-gilead in safety while an investigation and possibly a trial was conducteda Levitical Priests citycompare with Deuteronomy 4:43.

Jehoram…Joram=The same person, just a shorter spelling of his name; think James and Jim or Elizabeth and Liz.
Jehoram
Jehoram=Jehoram was the son of Ahab and Jezebel. He was the 9th king of the divided House of Israel, taking over the throne after his brother Ahaziahwho only reigned and ruled for 2 years, was an ungodly king following after the footsteps of his father and mother, Ahab and Jezebel, and had no sons to ascend to the throne. Jehoram was only slightly less evil and ungodly then his father and mother, and as such, Father only allowed him to be king over the House of Israel for 12 years. Shortly after Jehoram became king, he convinced Jehoshaphat to join him in battle against the Moabites where together they rode through Edom and picked up the vassal king and continued riding to engage Mesha the king of Moab, where Father gave them the victory. He next convinced Jehoshaphats grand-son Ahaziah to go to war with him against Hazael the king of Syria, where he was wounded by the Syrians. As he was recovering from his wounds, Father laid it on His Prophet Elishas heart, to send one of his servants to Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat the son of Nimshi to go and slay Jehoram as he would be the next king of the House of Israel. So Jehu came to Jezreel where Jehoram lay recovering from his wounds, and when Jehoram heard that Jehu was come for him, he and Ahaziah went out to meet Jehu and Jehu smote him in the heart with his bow and arrow and Jehoram died in his chariot, thus completely wiping out the male offspring of Ahab. For the etymology of the name Jehoram, we read the following in Abarim Publications: The name Jehoram consists of two elements, the first one being יה (Yah) = יהו (Yahu) = יו (Yu), which in turn are abbreviated forms of the Tetragrammaton; the name of the Lord: YHVH. The second part of the name Jehoram comes from the verb רום (rum), meaning to be high or lofty: For a meaning of the name Jehoram, New Open Bible Study Edition (NOBSE) Study Bible Name List reads Yahveh Is High. Jones Dictionary of Old Testament Proper Names proposes The Lord Exalts and Brown Driver Briggs (BDB) Theological Dictionary suggests Yah Is Exalted.. Now from the Strongs Concordance, where we find that it is Hebrew word number: H3088, - יְהוֹרָם, - Yehôrâm, pronounced - yeh-ho-rawmי, and means: From H3068 and H7311; YHVH-raised; Jehoram, the name of a Syrian and of three Israelites: - Jehoram, Joram. Compare H3141. Total KJV occurrences: 29.. Now from the Smiths Bible Dictionary, where we read: Whom YHVH has exalted. Son of Ahab king of Israel, who succeeded his brother Ahaziah. The alliance between the kingdoms of Israel and Judah, commenced by his father and Jehoshaphat, was very close throughout his reign. We first find him associated with Jehoshaphat and the king of Edom in a war against the Moabites. The three armies were in the utmost danger of perishing for want of water. The piety of Jehoshaphat suggested an inquiry of Yehovah, through Elisha. After reproving Jehoram, Elisha, for Jehoshaphats sake, inquired of Yehovah, and received the promise of an abundant supply of water, and of a great victory over the Moabites; a promise which was immediately fulfilled. The allies pursued them with great slaughter into their own land, which they utterly ravaged and destroyed most of its cities. Kirharaseth alone remained, and there the king of Moab made his last stand. An attempt to break through the besieging army having failed, he resorted to the desperate expedient of offering up his eldest son, as a burnt offering, upon the wall of the city, in the sight of the enemy. Upon this the Israelites retired and returned to their own land II Kings 3. A little later, when war broke out between Syria and Israel, we find Elisha befriending Jehoram; but when the terrible famine in Samaria arose, the king immediately attributed the evil to Elisha, and determined to take away his life. The providential interposition by which both Elishas life was saved and the city delivered is narrated II Kings 7, and Jehoram appears to have returned to friendly feeling toward Elisha II Kings 8:4. It was soon after these events that the revolution in Syria predicted by Elisha took place, giving Jehoram a good opportunity of recovering Ramoth-gilead from the Syrians. He accordingly made an alliance with his nephew Ahaziah, who had just succeeded Joram on the throne of Judah, and the two kings proceeded to occupy Ramoth-gilead by force. The expedition was an unfortunate one. Jehoram was wounded in battle, and obliged to return to Jezreel to be healed of his wounds II Kings 8:29; 9:14, 15. Jehu and the army under his command revolted from their allegiance to Jehoram, II Kings 9, and hastily marching to Jezreel, surprised Jehoram, wounded and defenceless as he was. Jehoram, going out to meet him, fell pierced by an arrow from Jehus bow on the very plot of ground which Ahab had wrested from Naboth the Jezreelite; thus fulfilling to the letter the prophecy of Elijah I Kings 21:29. With the life of Jehoram ended the dynasty of Omri..

Hazael
Hazael=We are first introduced to Hazael right after Fathers Prophet Elijah had taken king Ahabs wife Jezebels 450 prophets of baal and her 400 priests of baal up to Mount Carmel to prove to the People of Israel Who Is God. After Jezebels prophets and priests failed to entice baal to show himselfwhich the false god baal cannot do as there is no such entityJezebel threatened Elijahs life because Elijah had had the Israelites slay every man to the last one, of Jezebels false prophets and priests. In fear for his life from Jezebel, Elijah then fled to the wilderness of Beer-sheba, and as he lay sleeping, Father manifest so that Elijah could see him, appeared as the Angel of the LORD, and told Elijah to return on his way to the wilderness of Damascus, and when he arrived there, he was to anoint Hazael to be the next king of Syria. Elijah never makes it to Damascus, because along the way, Father calls His Prophet Home to Him, having him taken up in a whirlwind, but, before He does, He has Elijah anoint his successor, Elisha. We next read of Hazael several Chapters laterII Kings 8:8when the present king of Syria, Ben-hadad, sends Hazael to Fathers Prophet Elisha, to inquire of him as to whether Ben-hadad would recover from the disease he was suffering from. Hazael finds Elisha, enquires of him whether Ben-hadad shall recover and Elisha replies in II Kings 8:11-13, which reads: II Kings 8:11 And he settled his countenance stedfastly, until he was ashamed: and the man of God wept. [8:12] And Hazael said, Why weepeth my lord? And he answered, Because I know the evil that thou wilt do unto the children of Israel: their strong holds wilt thou set on fire, and their young men wilt thou slay with the sword, and wilt dash their children, and rip up their women with child. [8:13] And Hazael said, But what, is thy servant a dog, that he should do this great thing? And Elisha answered, The LORD hath shewed me that thou shalt be king over Syria.   —>   Hazael returns to Ben-hadad, tells him, good news boss, Elisha said that this disease will not be the cause of your death, you will recover from it; however, the next morning, Hazael returns to Ben-hadads bed champer, takes a towel, soaks it in water, and then goes in and smothers Ben-hadad until he dies, and then Hazel takes over the throne as king of Syria. Hazael does all that Father through His Prophet Elisha prophesied, he went to he oppressed Israel all his days, he captured Ramoth-gilead and held it and also smote all the coasts of Israel until Jehoram king of Israel and Ahaziah king of Judah join forces and recapture them, however, Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat the son of Nimshi slays both of them. For the etymology of the name Hazael, we read the following in Abarim Publications: The name Hazael consists of two elements, the final one being אל (El), the common abbreviation of Elohim, the genus God: The first part of our name comes from the verb חזה (haza), meaning to look or see: For a meaning of the name Hazael, New Open Bible Study Edition (NOBSE) Study Bible Name List reads God Has Seen. Jones Dictionary of Old Testament Proper Names proposes He Who Sees God. And Brown Driver Briggs (BDB) Theological Dictionary has El Sees.. Now from the Strongs Concordance, where we find that it is Hebrew word number: H2371, - חֲזָאֵל,ss or חֲזָהאֵל, - chăzâ'êl, or chăzâh'êl, pronounced - khaz-aw-aleי or khaz-aw-aleי, and means: From H2372 and H410; EL has seen; Chazael, a king of Syria: - Hazael. Total KJV occurrences: 23.. Now from the Smiths Bible Dictionary, where we read: Whom EL sees. A king of Damascus. He appears to have been previously a person in a high position at the court of Ben-hadad, and was sent by his master to Elisha to inquire if he would recover from the malady under which he was suffering. Elishas answer led to the murder of Ben-hadad by his ambitious servant, who forthwith mounted the throne II Kings 8:7-15. He was soon engaged in war with the kings of Judah and Israel, for the possession of the city of Ramoth-gilead. Ibid., 8:28. Towards the close of the reign of Jehu, Hazael led the Syrians against the Israelites, whom he smote in all their coasts, II Kings 10:32, thus accomplishing the prophecy of Elisha Ibid., 8:12. At the close of his life, having taken Gath, ibid., 12:17; compare with Amos 6:2, he proceeded to attack Jerusalem, II Chronicles 24:24, and was about to assault the city when Joash bribed him to retire II Kings 12:18. Hazael appears to have died about the year b.c. 840, II Kings 13:24, having reigned forty-six years..

II Chronicles 22:6 And he returned to be healed in Jezreel (EL will sow; and, seed of EL) (yis-reh-aleי) because of the wounds which were given him at Ramah, when he fought with Hazael king of Syria. And Azariah the son of Jehoram king of Judah went down to see Jehoram the son of Ahab at Jezreel, because he was sick.   —>   This is saying that Ahabs son Jehoram went to the fort at Jezreel where his father had established one of his residences when he was king and while he was recovering from his wounds, his nephew Azariahalso called Ahaziah or Jehoahazcame to visit with him.

…wounds which were given him at Ramah…=Ramah, Ramoth, Ramath-mizpeh and Ramoth-gilead are all interchangeable when used in the context of this verse and verse v22:5 above.
Jezreel
Jezreel=There is actually quite a bit of history with Jezreel. Jezreel was both a valley and a town which lie within that valley. The town lay north west of the Dead Sea and south west of the Sea of Galilee. As our forefathers were moving into the Promised Land, the town of Jezreel was given to the Tribe of Judah as part of their inheritanceJoshua 15:56but was later given to the Tribe ManassehJoshua 17:16. With that being said, the town was actually inhabited by both the Tribes of Manasseh and Issachar, see here. Roughly 2 centuries later, by the time of the Judges, Israels 4th Judge, Gideon, the Amalekites and the Midianites were gathered together in the valley of Jezreel against Israel, Father appeared to Gideon and told him to fear not, as he would not die at the hands of the Amalekites and the Midianites, but would smite the Midianites as one man, so Gideon gathered the Tribes of Asher, Naphtali and Zebulun by the Well of Harod which is in the town of Jezreel. But, Father told Gideon that he had too many menHe knew that man would then claim the victory for what He was about to doand Father instructed Gideon how to reduce the number, and Father gave Gideon the victory over the Amalekites and the Midianites. Again, several centuries later, during the reign and rule of king Saul, after David had slew the giant Goliath and David was on the run from Saul, he covertly joined onto Achish and the Philistines and joined up with them in Jezreel until the lords of the Philistines told Achish to send David and his men away as they didntrightfully sotrust David. News of Saul and his son Jonathans death at the hand of the Philistines came from Jezreel. It was in Jezreel that Abner, Sauls Commanding General tried to establish Sauls son Mephibosheth as king of Israel, of course David had already been anointed by Father to be the next king and David was ruling over part of the Nation. Jezreel doesnt come into play again until Ahab is king over Israel and it is in Jezreel where he tries to buy the vineyard of Naboth, as Naboths residence was next to Ahabs summer palace, of course this had disastrous results for Naboth. Ahab and Jezebel started the worship of baal in Jezreel. Father through His Prophet Elijah prophesied that dogs would eat Jezebel by the wall in Jezreel because of all her evilness. Ahab and Jezebels son Joram returned to Jezreel to recover from his wounds after engaging in battle against Hazael king of Syria. The heads of all the rest70 totalof Ahabs sons were brought to Jehu in Jezreel as Father had also prophesied. For the etymology of the name Jezreel, we read the following in Abarim Publications The name Jezreel consists of two elements, the final one being אל (EL), the common abbreviation of ELOHIMfrom Dr. Bullingers Companion Bible Appendices: ELOHIM the genus God: The first element of our name is an active form of the verb זרע (zaraי), meaning to scatter seed or sow: For a meaning of the name Jezreel, New Open Bible Study Edition (NOBSE) Study Bible Name List reads God Sows and Brown Driver Briggs (BDB) Theological Dictionary has God Soweth. Jones Dictionary of Old Testament Proper Names proposes He Will Be Sown Of God, and explains it with: i.e. have a numerous progeny.. Now from the Strongs Concordance, where we find that it is Hebrew word number: H3157, - יִזְרְעֵאל, - yizre‛ê'l, pronounced - yiz-reh-aleי, and means: From H2232 and H419; EL will sow; Jizreel, the name of two places in Palestine and of two Israelites: - Jezreel. Total KJV occurrences: 36.. Now from the Smiths Bible Dictionary, where we read: Seed of EL. A city situated in the plain of the same name between Gilboa and Little Hermon, now generally called Esdraelon. [Esdraelon.] It appears in Joshua 19:18, but its historical importance dates from the reign of Ahab, who chose it for his chief residence. The situation of the modern village of Zerin still remains to show the fitness of his choice. In the neighborhood, or within the town probably, were a temple and grove of Astarte, with an establishment of 400 priests supported by Jezebel I Kings 16:33; II Kings 10:11. The palace of Ahab, I Kings 21:1; 18:46, probably containing his ivory house, I Kings 22:39, was on the eastern side of the city, forming part of the city wall, Compare I Kings 21:1; II Kings 9:25, 30, 33. Whether the vineyard of Naboth was here or at Samaria is a doubtful question. Still in the same eastern direction are two springs, one 12 minutes from the town, the other 20 minutes. The latter, probably from both its size and its situation, was known as the spring of Jezreel. With the fall of the house of Ahab the glory of Jezreel departed..

II Chronicles 22:7 And the destruction of Ahaziah was of God by coming to Joram: for when he was come, he went out with Jehoram against Jehu (YHVH (is) he; and, the living) (yay-hooי) the son of Nimshi (extricated; and, rescued) (nim-sheeי), whom the LORD had anointed to cut off the house of Ahab.   —>   There is much to dissect in this verse brethren, so lets take it slow and do just that.

To begin with, God as used in this verse is: אלהים, 'ĕlôhı̂ym, ELOHIMfrom Dr. Bullingers Companion Bible Appendices,: ELOHIMthe genus God, in other words, Father in His role of Creator of all things. From Dr. Bullingers Companion Bible, Appendix 4: ELOHIM occurs 2,700 times. Its first occurrence connects it with creation, and gives it its essential meaning as the Creator. It indicates His relation to mankind as His creatures (see note on II Chronicles 18:31, where it stands in contrast with YEHOVAH as indicating covenant relationship). ELOHIM is God the Son, the living WORD with creature form to create (John 1:1; Colossians 1:15-17; Revelation 3:14); and later, with human form to redeem (John 1:14). Begotten of His Father before all worlds; born of His mother, in the world. In this creature form He appeared to the Patriarchs, a form not temporarily assumed..

Im going to work backward and take …Jehu…whom the LORD had anointed to cut off the house of Ahab next. Why? Because, we read in I Kings 19:15-17 that Father had sent His Prophet Elijah to do just that, to anoint Jehu to be the next king of Israel, but along the way, he was to anoint Elisha to be his replacement. Father doubled down on His destruction of Ahab and all his posterity in I Kings 21:17-22 from where well read: I Kings 21:17 And the word of the LORD came to Elijah the Tishbite, saying, [21:18] Arise, go down to meet Ahab king of Israel, which is in Samaria: behold, he is in the vineyard of Naboth, whither he is gone down to possess it.   —>   Ahab broke one of Fathers Commandments by coveting Naboths vineyard, and when Naboth told Ahab that he could not sell his inheritance to him, as that would anger Father, Ahab went home and cried to his wife Jezebel, who then hired men of belial who lied and said that Naboth blasphemed his king, and they had him and his sons stoned to death. Now Ahab had taken possession of Naboths vineyard. Were about to read what Father thought of this: [21:19] And thou shalt speak unto him, saying, Thus saith the LORD, Hast thou killed, and also taken possession?x And thou shalt speak unto him, saying, Thus saith the LORD, In the place where dogs licked the blood of Naboth shall dogs lick thy blood, even thine.xx [21:20] And Ahab said to Elijah, Hast thou found me, O mine enemy? And he answered, I have found thee: because thou hast sold thyself to work evil in the sight of the LORD. [21:21] Behold, I will bring evil upon thee, and will take away thy posterity, and will cut off from Ahab him that pisseth against the wall, and him that is shut up and left in Israel, [21:21] And will make thine house like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and like the house of Baasha the son of Ahijah, for the provocation wherewith thou hast provoked Me to anger, and made Israel to sin.   —>   Father just told Ahab that He is going to use one of His servants to kill every one of his sons; that they are going the way of Naboth and his posterity, i.e., returning Home to Him. Why is He doing this? He explains it to Ahab in verses vI Kings 21:20 and I Kings 21:22, because Ahab thou hast sold thyself to work evil, in other words, Ahab sold his soul to the devil so to speak, and because he caused all Israel to sin against Father which angered Father.

Now lets talk about Ahaziah. Again, Father was going to use His servantJehuto punish Ahaziah as well. Why? Because Ahaziah, like his father Jehoram, joined onto the house of Ahab. Ahaziah joined Ahabs son JoramAhaziahs own uncleand went to fight against Syria. Ahaziah, like his father Jehoram did not first seek Father to enquire of Him if he should do this, he just took it upon himself. Now, Im not sticking up for or defending Ahaziah, but also like his father Jehoram, he almost had an excuse, as it was because of his grand-father Jehoshaphat marrying his son, Ahaziahs father Jehoram, to Ahabs daughter AthaliahAhaziahs own mother.
Jehu
Jehu=Jehu was the son of Jehoshaphat and the grand-son of a man named Nimshi. He was a willing servant or tool of Father to bring about the destruction of the line of Ahab, king of the House of Israel, and against Ahaziah, king of the House of Judah. We hear of the man before we are actually introduced to him. Father told His Prophet Elijah in I Kings 19:16, which reads: I Kings 19:16 And Jehu the son of Nimshi shalt thou anoint to be king over Israel: and Elisha the son of Shaphat of Abel-meholah shalt thou anoint to be prophet in thy room. Elijah never got to tell Jehu, as Father called him Home to Him, but before He did, Elijah did as Father told him and anointed Elisha to be his replacement and one of Elishas servants got to anoint and tell Jehu what he was to do. We read of this in II Kings 9 which is a Chapter solely dedicated to Jehu doing as commanded. Jehu and his men kill Ahabs son Joram and dump his dead corpse in the field of Naboth, then they slay Ahaziah, and then they kill Ahabs evil wife Jezebel by throwing her out a window. In II Kings 10 they continue and completely wipe all 70 of Ahabs sons, the 42 sons of Ahaziah, and then they slay every one of Jezebels false baal prophets and the destroy the images and the house of baal. We read of Fathers response to Jehu in II Kings 10:30, which reads: II Kings 10:30 And the LORD said unto Jehu, Because thou hast done well in executing that which is right in Mine eyes, and hast done unto the house of Ahab according to all that was in Mine heart, thy children of the fourth generation shall sit on the throne of Israel.   —>   So, even though Father was very pleased with Jehu for his actions, sadly, Jehu immediately turned his back on Father and His ways. We read in the very next verse, II Kings 10:31, the following: II Kings 10:31 But Jehu took no heed to walk in the law of the LORD God of Israel with all his heart: for he departed not from the sins of Jeroboam, which made Israel to sin. Jehu did indeed completely destroy baal out of Israel, however, he too caused Israel to sin by leaving the golden calves in Beth-El and Dan and causing the People of Israel to worship those calves. Father allowed Jehu to reign and rule over Israel for 28 years before He called him Home to Him. For the etymology of the name Jehu, we read the following in Abarim Publications According to Brown Driver Briggs (BDB) Theological Dictionary, the name Jehu is a contracted form of the name יהוהוא (Jehuhu). This latter version doesnt occur in Scriptures, but something similar happens with the name יהושע (Joshua), which was contracted into ישוע (Jeshua). Hence, the name Jehu consists of two elements: 1) יה (Yah) = יהו (Yahu) = יו (Yu), which in turn are abbreviated forms of the Tetragrammaton; the name of the Lord: YHVH. For a meaning of the name Jehu, New Open Bible Study Edition (NOBSE) Study Bible Name List reads Yahveh Is He. Jones Dictionary of Old Testament Proper Names has The Lord Is He, and BDB Theological Dictionary proposes Yah Is He. 2) The third person singular, independent nominative pronoun הוא (huי), meaning he, she or it: For a meaning of the name Jehu, New Open Bible Study Edition (NOBSE) Study Bible Name List reads Yahveh Is He. Jones Dictionary of Old Testament Proper Names has The Lord Is He, and BDB Theological Dictionary proposes Yah Is He.. Now from the Strongs Concordance, where we find that it is Hebrew word number: H3058, - יֵהוּא, - yêhû', pronounced - yay-hooי, and means: From H3068 and H1931; YHVH (is) He; Jehu, the name of five Israelites: - Jehu. Total KJV occurrences: 58.. Now from the Smiths Bible Dictionary, where we read: The living. The founder of the fifth dynasty of the kingdom of Israel, son of Jehoshaphat II Kings 9:2. He reigned over Israel 28 years. His first appearance in history is when he heard the warning of Elijah against the murderer of Naboth II Kings 9:25. In the reigns of Ahaziah and Jehoram, Jehu rose to importance. He was, under the last-named king, captain of the host in the siege of Ramoth-gilead. During this siege he was anointed by Elishas servant, and told that he was appointed to be king of Israel and destroyer of the house of Ahab II Kings 9:12. The army at once ordained him king, and he set off full speed for Jezreel. Jehoram, who was lying ill in Jezreel, came out to meet him, as it happened on the fatal field of Naboth II Kings 9:21-24. Jehu seized his opportunity, and shot him through the heart II Kings 9:24. Jehu himself advanced to the gates of Jezreel and fulfilled the divine warning on Jezebel as already on Jehoram. He then entered on a work of extermination hitherto unparalleled in the history of the Jewish monarchy. All the descendants of Ahab that remained in Jezreel, together with the officers of the court and the hierarchy of Astarte, were swept away. His next step was to secure Samaria. For the pretended purpose of inaugurating anew the worship of Baal, he called all the Baalites together at Samaria. The vast temple raised by Ahab, I Kings 16:32, was crowded from end to end. The chief sacrifice was offered, as if in the excess of his zeal, by Jehu himself. As soon as it was ascertained that all, and none but, the idolaters were there, the signal was given to eighty trusted guards, and a sweeping massacre removed at one blow the whole heathen population of the kingdom of Israel. This is the last public act recorded of Jehu. The remaining twenty-seven years of his long reign are passed over in a few words, in which two points only are material:He did not destroy the calfworship of Jeroboam:The transjordanic tribes suffered much from the ravages of Hazael II Kings 10:29-33. He was buried in state in Samaria, and was succeeded by his son Jehoahaz II Kings 10:35. His name is the first of the Israelite kings which appears in the Assyrian monuments..
Nimshi
Nimshi=The only thing Fathers Word says concerning the man named Nimshi, is that he was the father of Jehoshaphat and grand-father to Jehu, who Father used to destroy the lines of both Ahab and Ahaziah. Abarim-Publications does not provide an etymology for the name Nimshi, and as such, neither can I. Now from the Strongs Concordance, where we find that it is Hebrew word number: H5250, - נִמְשִׁי, - nimshı̂y, pronounced - nim-sheeי, and means: From H4871; extricated; Nimshi, the (grand-) father of Jehu: - Nimshi. Total KJV occurrences: 5.. Now from the Smiths Bible Dictionary, where we read: Rescued. The grandfather of Jehu, who is generally called the son of Nimshi, I Kings 19:16; II Kings 9:2, 14, 20; II Chronicles 22:7..

II Chronicles 22:8 And it came to pass, that, when Jehu was executing judgment upon the house of Ahab, and found the princes of Judah, and the sons of the brethren of Ahaziah, that ministered to Ahaziah, he slew them. —>   …executing judgment…=Executing Whose Judgment brethren? Fathers Judgment.

So anyway, as Jehu was executing Fathers Judgment upon Ahabs 70 sons, he also finds the 42 sonsthe princes of Judahof Ahaziah, and carries out Fathers Judgment upon them also.

Lets turn back to II Kings 9 and read of this brethren: II Kings 9:15 But king Joram was returned to be healed in Jezreel of the wounds which the Syrians had given him, when he fought with Hazael king of Syria.)
And Jehu said, If it be your minds, then let none go forth nor escape out of the city to go to tell it in Jezreel.
—>   After making their new king his make-shift throne, blowing the trumpets and announcing his ascension as king of the House of Israel, Jehus first command to his soldiers, was that they slay anybody who might be of the mind to go and tell Joram of the conspiracy of Jehu. Remember, it was Father Who ordered this death of Joram, Jezebel his mother, and all the rest of his brothers, her sons and step-sons. Therefore, they needed total secrecy in order to be able to completely carry out and fulfill their mission. Something else to remember brethren, was that Jorams nephew Ahaziah is in Jezreel visiting his deathly uncle. So, Jehu and his men also had to keep their mission secret from him and his soldiers as well until its complete; otherwise, they would have been be fighting against both Houses simultaneously. [9:16] So Jehu rode in a chariot, and went to Jezreel; for Joram lay there. And Ahaziah king of Judah was come down to see Joram.   —>   So far so good, the mission has been kept secret, and now Jehu is riding in his chariot with his men in their chariots behind him, headed to Jezreel in order to slay Joram. [9:17] And there stood a watchman on the tower in Jezreel, and he spied the company of Jehu as he came, and said, I see a company. And Joram said, Take an horseman, and send to meet them, and let him say, Is it peace?x   —>   They are rapidly approaching the city limits when one of Jorams sentinels sees them and runs and tells his king that a company of chariots and riders is riding hard toward the city. Joram tells his watchstander to dispatch one of the charioteers to ride out and ask whoever is leading this company, if they are speeding toward Jezreel for peace or for war. [9:18] So there went one on horseback to meet him, and said, Thus saith the king, Is it peace?x And Jehu said, What hast thou to do with peace? turn thee behind me. And the watchman told, saying, The messenger came to them, but he cometh not again.   —>   The rider rides out and greets Jehu asking whether he is coming for peace or for war, and Jehu replies to him that he can either join with him, or die should he decide to turn around and ride back to inform Joram that Jehu has come for war. The sentinel on the tower wall watching through his looking glass, only sees the exchange, but, hears nothing, and what does he see? The charioteer falling in line behind Jehu. He doesnt see any violence, so in reality, he still isnt sure if Jehu is approaching for peace or war, so, he goes and again reports to Joram all which he knows, which is nothing, really. [9:19] Then he sent out a second on horseback, which came to them, and said, Thus saith the king, Is it peace?x And Jehu answered, What hast thou to do with peace? turn thee behind me.   —>   A second charioteer is sent, and when he arrives at Jehus company, he too is given the ultimatum to fall in line, or die trying to inform Joram. So he, like his comrade, falls in behind Jehu. [9:20] And the watchman told, saying, He came even unto them, and cometh not again: and the driving is like the driving of Jehu the son of Nimshi; for he driveth furiously.   —>   Again, the sentinel sees the exchange but isnt sure what to make of it, so, he again goes and notifies Joram of what he saw. This time though, the sentinel also reports that this company of chariots and riders, especially the lead rider, appears to be Jehu, and his men and they are riding like madmen toward the city. Joram understands that this is no peaceful mission, either Hazael and Syrian army had sacked Ramoth and Jehu was riding hard to inform his king; or, Jehu was on the warpath against his king. In either case, Joram, though deathly from his wounds, was not about to just lie there and await his Captains approach, he was going to go out and greet him and his men. [9:21] And Joram said, Make ready. And his chariot was made ready. And Joram king of Israel and Ahaziah king of Judah went out, each in his chariot, and they went out against Jehu, and met him in the portion of Naboth the Jezreelite.   —>   Joram tells his closest men to make ready his horse and chariot, and to also get his nephew Ahaziahs ready as well. Once ready, both men climbed aboard their chariots and rode out to greet Jehu in order to find out which it was, peace or war; and where was it that they met, brethren? Right at the very same field that Father prophesied Joram would die. [9:22] And it came to pass, when Joram saw Jehu, that he said, Is it peace, Jehu? And he answered, What peace, so long as the whoredoms of thy mother Jezebel and her witchcrafts are so many?   —>   Upon arriving at Jehus company of soldiers, Joram immediately asks him if he came to Jezreel for peace or war? Jehu replies with the not too kind words, that so long as your mother is living and committing her whoredoms, therell be no peace in Israel. Strong words indeed, but, Jehu was correct on both accounts, as Jezebel was a whore, for she went up and played such in her groves, and she also played such in her idolatrous worship of false gods and idols. [9:23] And Joram turned his hands, and fled, and said to Ahaziah, There is treachery, O Ahaziah.   —>   Upon hearing the tone in Jehus voice and his harsh words, Joram knew then that there was no peace, only war; therefore, he immediately grabbed the reins of his horse drawn chariot, and pulled to one side in order to turn his horses around and skedaddle out of there as quickly as possible, telling his nephew to follow suit on his way past him. [9:24] And Jehu drew a bow with his full strength, and smote Jehoram between his arms, and the arrow went out at his heart, and he sunk down in his chariot.   —>   When Joram turned his horse and chariot around, Jehu brought his to a stop, took out his bow and arrows and waited until he had a clear shot at Jorams back; as soon as it was exposed, he fired off an arrow and struck the king of Israel right between the shoulder blades, administering a mortal wound, and causing Joram to fall down and slump in his chariot. [9:25] Then said Jehu to Bidkar (prepositional prefix; by stabbing, that is, assassin; or, son of stabbing i.e., one who stabs) his captain, Take up, and cast him in the portion of the field of Naboth the Jezreelite: for remember how that, when I and thou rode together after Ahab his father, the LORD laid this burden upon him;   —>   Jehu tells his friend Bidkar to take Jorams dead carcass and throw it into the very same portion of the field where Jorams father Ahab had had Naboth and his sons murdered. Bidkar=As I pointed out while reading the verse; the name Bidkar in the Hebrew tongue means, assassin; or, son of Stabbing. It is the sword of Father which Ahabs wife Jezebel and his offspring will get stabbed with in the end. So, what this verse is saying, is that, when Jorams father Ahab passed the sentence of death on Naboth and his sons, the same sentence would be passed on him and his posterity. Ahabs sons are about to die at the hand of Jehu and Bidkar. These two military officers are telling each other that they both can remember Father prophesying this through His prophet Elijah when they were still serving under Ahab in his army. [9:26] Surely I have seen yesterday the blood of Naboth, and the blood of his sons, saith the LORD; and I will requite thee in this plat, saith the LORD. Now therefore take and cast him into the plat of ground, according to the word of the LORD.   —>   Fathers prophesy of Ahab and the fate of his sons, coming to pass. This plat in the Strongs Concordance, is Hebrew word number: H2513, - חלקה, - chelqâh, pronounced - khel-kawי, and means: Feminine of H2506; properly smoothness; figuratively flattery, also an allotment: - field, flattering (-ry), ground, parcel, part, piece of land ([ground]), plat, portion, slippery place, smooth (thing)., in other words, it is a parcel or portion of land, and it is established in fairness for something taken. Naboths land was taken by Jezebel when she killed him and his sons; therefore, Naboths blood, set the value of the land. With Father adding in here of the phrase, and the blood of his sons, He is giving us information now, which was omitted in I Kings 21:13, where it is only mentioned that Naboth was stoned to death. I made mention of it then, that this verse confirmed that his sons also had to be killed in order that, as heirs of their father, they would not then be able to claim ownership of Naboths land, and then thus prevent Jezebel from giving it to her husband. So, now we see, the price was paid in fairness, with the price of Ahabs families blood. The third payment was not made, for Ahab and his sons blood paid the first two payments. Think of it as buying a piece of land, but instead of paying the installments with money, it is to be paid with the blood of each member of Ahabs family. This is Fathers way of being fair, for the wickedness of Jezebel in obtaining the land with the price of Naboth and his sons blood, and Ahab accepting that blood soaked land. [9:27] But when Ahaziah the king of Judah saw this, he fled by the way of the garden house. And Jehu followed after him, and said, Smite him also in the chariot. And they did so at the going up to Gur, which is by Ibleam. And he fled to Megiddo, and died there.   —>   When Jorams nephew saw his uncle receive his mortal wound, he decided he no longer wanted any part of his uncle and his family, so he turned and fled; however, Jehu followed after him and told his men to kill him as well for his part of not rejecting his uncle. Remember also, his mother is Athaliah, Ahab and Jezebels daughter; so, in reality, Ahabs blood flowed through his veins also. [9:28] And his servants carried him in a chariot to Jerusalem, and buried him in his sepulchre with his fathers in the city of David.   —>   Several clues ensure that this is talking about Ahaziah, and not Joram: (1) they took his body to Jerusalem, that means, the territories of Judah, and not in the territories of the ten northern tribes; (2) they buried him in the sepulchre with his fathers in the city of David, this again points to Ahaziah, as he was of the lineage of David and not Ahab; and (3) we know Ahabs lineage was left for the dogs and the fowls of the air to eat, so there was nothing left of Ahabs sons to bury. …buried him in his sepulchre with his fathers in the city of David=Im sure that Ahaziahs great, great, great, great grand-father David would be none too pleased with him, as Davidthough not perfect by any meansnever served any god except Father YHVH, and as we read, Ahaziah, under the influence of his mother and grandmother on his mothers side Jezebel, served baal and other false gods.

…and the sons of the brethren of Ahaziah…=Understand this brethren, Jehu slew all the sons of Ahaziah and the sons of all his brothersor so he and just about everybody else thoughtleaving no one in the royal line to ascend to the throne. Even his Ahaziahs mother Athaliah thinks Jehu killed off the entire royal lineage. However, well find outand so will sheas we continue reading, that there was one child missed. That childs name is Joash, Ahaziahs own son. He is taken by Ahaziahs sister Jehoshebaor Jehoshabeath as she is called in verse v22:11 belowwife of Jehoiada, the High Priest at the time. Shell take 1 year old Joash and hide him in Fathers Temple, which is at this time closed and boarded-up, because Ahaziah, his fatherJehoramand his mother, and her parents Ahab and Jezebel, have forbidden the worship of Father YHVH.

II Chronicles 22:9 And he sought Ahaziah: and they caught him, (for he was hid in Samaria (watch station; and, watch mountain) (sho-mer-oneי),) and brought him to Jehu: and when they had slain him, they buried him: Because, said they, he is the son of Jehoshaphat (YHVH-Judged; or, whom YHVH judges) (yeh-ho-shaw-fawtי), who sought the LORD with all his heart.

So the house of Ahaziah had no power to keep still the kingdom.   —>   When Jehu and his men killed his uncle Joram, Ahaziah fled, where did he flee to? The northern territoriesremember brethren, he was already in the northern territoriesin Jezreelas he was visiting with his uncle who had been wounded by Hazael and his menhe went out through Jorams garden house, to Samaria. We just read in II Kings 9:27, that Jehu and his men trailed after him and found him at the going up to Gur, which is by Ibleam, where they wounded him while he was in his chariot, he fled again from them, but died in Megiddoremember also, his destruction was of Father as we read in verse v22:7 above.

Notice, Fathers Word here in II Chronicles 22:9 does not say that they buried him in the city of David with the other kings of JudahIt just says that they buried him, It doesnt even say who buried himbut, again, we read in II Kings 9:28 above, that Ahaziahs servants carried his body in a chariot back to Jerusalem, and buried him in the city of David with the other kings of Judah.

II Chronicles 22:10 But when Athaliah (constrained by YAH; or, afflicted of YHVH) (ath-al-yaw-sawfי-hoo) the mother of Ahaziah saw that her son was dead, she arose and destroyed all the seed royal of the house of Judah.   —>   Remember brethren, Athaliah is the daughter of Ahab and Jezebel, and the wife of Jehoshaphats son Jehoram. Right now, she is madder than a hatter that her son is now dead. So, what is the first thing she does? She goes and murders all her own grand-childrenevery cousin, uncle, nephew ect.anyone who could have had a rightful claim to the throne of the House of Judah.

…she arose and destroyed all the seed royal of the house of Judah=Athaliah only thinks she has destroyed all the royal seed-line, well find out in the next verse that she missed one grand-child, 1 year old Joash. But, his being only 1 year old, he obviously isnt old enough to be king, so one of his aunts will take him and hide him away until such time that he is old enough, or until the Priests have had enough of this evil murderous woman that they feel they have no choice but to remove her and set him as king at a young agewhich will be in 6 years, hell take over the throne at the age of 7 years old.

This murdering of the royal seed-line was our adversary satans fourth attempt, in the last 2 Chapters alone, to try and destroy the line by which the seed of the womanthe line by which our Father ELOHIM will come in the flesh as His only begotten Son, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ would come into the worldsee II Chronicles 21:4,17; and II Chronicles 22:1 this time he nigh-well succeeded. Other attempts by him outside these 2 Chapters include: when satan seduced Eve in Genesis 3:13-16; the murder of Abel by Cain in Genesis 4:8; when satan sent the fallen angels to corrupt the seed-line in Genesis 6:1-4; the attempted seduction of Sarah by the Egyptian pharaoh in Genesis 12:10-20; then by Abimelech king of Gerar in Genesis 20:1-18; Esaus desiring to kill his brother Jacob in Genesis 27:41-42; Josephs brothers desiring to slay him in Genesis 37:18; satan putting the desire into Judahs heart to fall for a canaanite woman and marrying her and bearing sons to her in Genesis 38:1-5; pharaohs wifes desiring of Joseph and when he declined her; her claiming he attempted to rape her in Genesis 39:11-18; the attempted destruction of the entire male line in Exodus 1:15-16; pharaoh desiring to slay Moses in Exodus 2:15; the destruction of the entire Nation in Exodus 14; satan missing and falsely believingas does almost the entire Christian Nation todaythe line would come throught Davids son NathanLuke 3:23-38 paying particular attention to verse 3:31and not Solomon; Solomon was the king lineSolomons line went to Joseph the husband of Mary Matthew 1:1-16 paying particular attention to verse 1:16; which is why he attempted the 4 destructionsJehoram slaying all his brethren; the Arabians carrying away Jehorams sons; and Athaliahs attempted destruction of all the royal seed-linewe read of in these last 2 Chapters.

II Chronicles 22:11 But Jehoshabeath (YHVH-sworn; or, whose oath is YHVH) (yeh-ho-shab-athי), the daughter of the king, took Joash (YHVH fired; and, to whom YHVH hastens i.e, to help) (yo-awshי) the son of Ahaziah, and stole him from among the kings sons that were slain, and put him and his nurse in a bedchamber. So Jehoshabeath, the daughter of king Jehoram, the wife of Jehoiada (YHVH-known; or, YHVH knows) (yo-yaw-dawי) the priest, (for she was the sister of Ahaziah,) hid him from Athaliah, so that she slew him not.   —>   There is much meat to glean from this verse brethren, so lets start our gleaning:

…Jehoshabeath…sister of Ahaziah…=Keep the lineage straight in your mind brethren. Athaliah is the daughter of Ahab and Jezebel and the wife of Jehoshpahats son Jehoram. She is the mother of Ahaziah, thus making her the mother of this Jehoshabeath. This means that as Jehosabeaths mother was on her rampage, her daughter went behind her mothers back and snatched up her nephewAthaliahs grand-sonto keep her own mother from murdering Joash.

Fathers Word does not give any description of how Athaliah murdered all the seed royal, whether she gathered them all in one place, or whether she went to each one individually; but, in either case, word got out that she went on her murderous rampage and Ahaziahs sisterAthaliahs own daughtersprung into action and grabbed her youngest nephew before Athaliah had an opportunity to kill him too. How Athaliah missed murdering this one well never know, but were thankful that she did or the male king line would have ended.

More importantly, Fathers Word would not have been True, as He Promised David in II Samuel 7:5-16 and I Chronicles 17:4-14 that He would establish Davids Kingdom forever; lets read it from I Chronicles 17: I Chronicles 17:4 Go and tell David My servant, Thus saith the LORD, Thou shalt not build Me an house to dwell in: [17:5] For I have not dwelt in an house since the day that I brought up Israel unto this day; but have gone from tent to tent, and from one tabernacle to another. [17:6] Wheresoever I have walked with all Israel, spake I a word to any of the judges of Israel, whom I commanded to feed My People, saying, Why have ye not built Me an house of cedars?xx [17:7] Now therefore thus shalt thou say unto My servant David, Thus saith the LORD of hosts, I took thee from the sheepcote, even from following the sheep, that thou shouldest be ruler over My People Israel: [17:8] And I have been with thee whithersoever thou hast walked, and have cut off all thine enemies from before thee, and have made thee a name like the name of the great men that are in the earth. [17:9] Also I will ordain a place for My People Israel, and will plant them, and they shall dwell in their place, and shall be moved no more; neither shall the children of wickedness waste them any more, as at the beginning, [17:10] And since the time that I commanded judges to be over My People Israel. Moreover I will subdue all thine enemies. Furthermore I tell thee that the LORD will build thee an house. [17:11] And it shall come to pass, when thy days be expired that thou must go to be with thy fathers, that I will raise up thy seed after thee, which shall be of thy sons; and I will establish his kingdom.   —>   The next verse is why we came here. [17:12] He shall build Me an house, and I will stablish his throne for ever.   —>   This was a Promise by Father, and it was two-fold, as though it was in reference to Davids son Solomon who became the next man king to rule the kingdom of Israel, it was really directed toward Nathan from whose seed Father came in the flesh. Neither Solomons Temple, nor his kingdom lasted forever but, Nathans seed-line brought Jesus into the Flesh Age and His Kingdom will last for all eternity. [17:13] I will be his father, and he shall be My son: and I will not take My mercy away from him, as I took it from him that was before thee: [17:14] But I will settle him in Mine house and in My kingdom for ever: and his throne shall be established for evermore.xx.

Next, lets look at the marriage between Jehoshabeath and Jehoiada. Jehoshabeath, being the sister of Ahaziah, makes her part of the king line, and as such, a descendant of the Tribe of Judah; conversely, Jehoiada, being a Priest, makes him an Arronite, thus a Levite. The Priests were only to marry among the Levites as can be read in Leviticus 21:14, which reads: Leviticus 21:10 And he that is the high priest among his brethren, upon whose head the anointing oil was poured, and that is consecrated to put on the garments, shall not uncover his head, nor rend his clothes; [21:11] Neither shall he go in to any dead body, nor defile himself for his father, or for his mother; [21:12] Neither shall he go out of the sanctuary, nor profane the sanctuary of his God; for the crown of the anointing oil of his God is upon him: I am the LORD. [21:13] And he shall take a wife in her virginity. [21:14] A widow, or a divorced woman, or profane, or an harlot, these shall he not take: but he shall take a virgin of his own people to wife.   —>   Thus making this marriage between Jehoiada and Jehoshabeath a illegal marriage, but, in this instance, it was a good thing, as look what it led to, the saving of Joash, and the hiding of him in Fathers Temple.
Jehoshabeath
Jehoshabeath=Jehoshabeathor Jehosheba as she is called in II Kings 11:2Was the daughter of Jehoram, king of the House of JudahFathers Word does not say whether Jehorams wife Athaliah was her mother, or whether Jehoram took to wife another woman or a concubine who bare Jehoshabeathin either case, she was the daughter of Jehoram and the wife of Jehoiada the High Priest at the time of Jehorams son, Ahaziahsher brother or step-brotherreign and rule. When Ahaziah was killed by Jehuwhich was of Father II Chronicles 22:7Ahaziahs mother Athaliah went on a murderous rampage and killed all the seed-royal, meaning, she killed all her own grand-children. Jehoshabeath, seeing this, sprung into action and grabbed up the youngesther nephew1 year old Joash, and hid him in a closet until the coast was clear, then she and her husband Jehoiada took him to Fathers Temple in Libnahwhich had been closed down and boarded up by Jehoram, Athaliah, and Athaliahs parents Ahab and Jezebeland kept him safe for six years until he could become king of the House of Judah. For the etymology of the name Jehoshabeath, we read the following in Abarim Publications: The name Jehosheba consists of two elements. The first part is יה (Yah) = יהו (Yahu) = יו (Yu), which in turn are abbreviated forms of the Tetragrammaton; the name of the Lord: YHVH. The second part of the name Jehosheba comes from the noun שבע (shebaי), meaning seven, or the derived verb שבע (shebaי), meaning to swear or bind with an oath: As with the similar name Elisheba (= Elizabeth), the sheba part can be interpreted as seven as well as an oath. But for a meaning of the name Jehoshabeath or Jehosheba, New Open Bible Study Edition (NOBSE) Study Bible Name List reads Yahveh Is An Oath and Brown Driver Briggs (BDB) Theological Dictionary has the similar Yah Is An Oath. Jones Dictionary of Old Testament Proper Names proposes The LORDs Oath.. Now from the Strongs Concordance, where we find that it is Hebrew word number: H3090, - יְהוֹשַׁבְעַת, - yehôshab‛ath, pronounced - yeh-ho-shab-athי, and means: A form of H3089; YHVH-sworn; Jehoshabath, an Israelitess: - Jehoshabeath. Total KJV occurrences: 2.. Now from the s Bible Dictionary, where we read: YHVHs oath. Daughter of Joram king of (my correction here, this Jehoram was king of the House of Judah, not Israel) Israel, and wife of Jehoiada the high priest, II Kings 11:2. Her name in the Chronicles is given Jehoshabeath. As she is called, II Kings 11:2, the daughter of Joram, sister of Ahaziah, it has been conjectured that she was the daughter, not of Athaliah, but of Joram by another wife. She is the only recorded instance of the marriage of a princess of the royal house with a high priest..
Joash
Joash=Joash was the son of Ahaziah, king of the House of Judah 798-788B.C. and his wife Zibiah. He Ahaziahs youngest son. Joash was the seventh king of the House of Judah, 782-743B.C. and also the father of Amaziah, the eighth king of the House of Judah, it was through Joashs lineage that the seed-line for the kings would continue. All of Joashs older brothers were killed by their grand-mother Athaliah when her sonJoashs father Ahaziahwas killed by Jehu, who was appointed and anointed by Father to slay all the sons of Ahab of the House of Israel, and when Jehu found Ahaziah, he slew him also because he had joined on with Ahabs son Jehoram. When Athaliah went on her murderous rampage, Joashs aunt Jehoshabeath grabbed him and his nursemaid and hid them in an inner chamber in the royal palace until the coast was clear, then she and her husband Jehoiada, the High Priestand Joashs uncleat the time, took Joash and his nursemaid to Fathers Temple in the sanctuary city of Libnah and hid him there for six years. In Joashs 7th year, Jehoiada gathered the other Priests, the Levites and the Captains of the Military, made them swear to an oath of secrecy, and after they swore to the oath, he brought out Joash and they all anointed him king of the House of Judah. Joash began his reign and rule over the Nation of the House of Judah at the tender young age of 7 years old. His mentor and counselor was Jehoiada, and until his death, Joash did that which was right in the eyes of Father YHVH. What was it that he did that was right in Fathers eyes? He had the People of Judah restart the tribute which had been established during the time of Moses, this was needed in order to restore Fathers Temple which had been looted, destroyed and boarded-up by his father and grand-father Jehoram, Athaliah, Ahab and Jezebel. Joash had the Temple restored, and then he returned the Peoples hearts back to Father YHVH. However, when his uncle Jehoiada died and returned Home to Father, the princes of JudahFathers Word does not say who these princes were, but they must have been Joashs sons, and the leaders of the Tribes, heads of state and other dignitariescame to Joash and convinced him to reinstitute the worship of baal and asherah. Jehoiadas son Zechariah then came to Joash to rebuke him for his allowing evilness, unrighteousness and ungodliness back in the Nation. For Zechariahs rebuking Joash and the People of the Nation, they turned on him and murdered him by stoning him at Joashs commandment, right in the court of Fathers House. Abarim Publications does not provide an Etymology for the name Joash and as such, neither can I. From the Strongs Concordance, we find that it is Hebrew word number: H3101, - יוֹאָש ,ss or יֹאָש , - yô'âsh, or yô'âsh, pronounced - yo-awshי or yo-awshי, and means: A form of H3060; YHVH fired; Joash, the name of six Israelites: - Joash. Total KJV occurrences: 46.. Now from the Smiths Bible Dictionary, where we read: To whom YHVH hastens. Son of Ahaziah king of Judah, and the only one of his children who escaped the murderous hand of Athaliah. After his fathers sister Jehoshabeath, the wife of Jehoiada the high priest, had stolen him from among the kings sons, he was hidden for six years in the chambers of the temple. In the seventh year of his age and of his concealment, a successful revolution, conducted by Jehoiada, placed him on the throne of his ancestors, and freed the country from the tyranny and idolatries of Athaliah. For at least twenty-three years, while Jehoiada lived, his reign was very prosperous; but after the death of Jehoiada, Joash fell into the hands of bad advisers, at whose suggestion he revived the worship of Baal and Ashtaroth. When he was rebuked for this by Zechariah, the son of Jehoiada, Joash caused him to be stoned to death in the very court of the Lords house, Matthew 23:35. That very year Hazael king of Syria came up against Jerusalem, and carried off a vast booty as the price of his departure. Joash had scarcely escaped this danger when he fell into another and fatal one. Two of his servants conspired against him and slew him in his bed in the fortress of Millo. Joashs reign lasted forty years..
Jehoiada
Jehoiada=As there are several Priests named Jehoiada, this Pastor and author of this Studyalong with all the other Biblical scholarsis unsure of the lineage of this Jehoiada, though we can pretty much be assured that he was of the line of Phinehas. He was the High Priest during the reign and rule of Ahaziah, and when Ahaziah was killed by Jehu, and Ahaziahs mother Athaliah went on her murderous rampage and killed all the seed-royal, his wife Jehoshabeath, intelligently, grabbed up Ahaziahs youngest son Joashher and Jehoiadas nephewand his nurse maid and hid them in an inner chamber of the royal palace until the coast was clear, then they took them to Fathers Temple in Libnah, which had been closed and boarded-up by Ahaziah, Athaliah, Ahab and Jezebel. Athaliah rule the House of Judah for six years until Jehoiada had had enough of her evilness, unrighteousness and ungodliness, then Jehoiada gathered all the other Priests, the Levites and the captains of the Military and made them swear an oath of secrecy, and after doing so, he presented Joash to them. They watched over him for a short while and then they took him to the royal palace and anointed and crowned him king of the House of Judah, purposefully making a joyous noise by shoutings and sounding of the trumpets. When Athaliah heard all the commotion, she came into the royal palace. Surprised at seeing her grand-son, and even more surprised at seeing him crowned king, she cried conspiracy and treason, Jehoiada commanded the Priests and military leaders to carry her out of Fathers Temple in Jerusalem which Solomon had built, and slay her. Jehoiada counseled, mentored and guided the young king until the time of hisJehoiadadeath, and the entire time he did so, the young king did that which was right in Fathers eyes. Sadly though, after Jehoiadas death, Joash allowed his sons and other dignitaries to convince him to re-allow the worship of baal and ashorah in Judah. Jehoiadas son Zechariah then came to Joash to tell him to change his evil ways, and he then commanded the People of the Nation to stone him to death, and they did so, right in the court of Fathers Temple. For the etymology of the name Jehoiada, we read the following in Abarim Publications: The name Jehoiada consists of two parts: The first part of the name is the appellative יה (Yah) = יהו (Yahu) = יו (Yu), which in turn are abbreviated forms of the Tetragrammaton יהוה, YHVH, or Yahveh. The second part of the name Jehoiada comes from the verb ידע (yadaי), meaning to know: For a meaning of the name Jehoiada, New Open Bible Study Edition (NOBSE) Study Bible Name List reads Yahveh Knows. Jones Dictionary of Old Testament Proper Names has the similar The Lord Knows.. From the Strongs Concordance, we find that it is Hebrew word number: H3077, - יְהוֹיָדָע, - yehôyâdâ‛, pronounced - yeh-ho-yaw-dawי, and means: From H3068 and H3045; YHVH-known; Jehojada, the name of three Israelites: - Jehoiada. Compare H3111. Total KJV occurrences: 48.. Now from the Smiths Bible Dictionary, where we read: YHVH knows. High priest at the time of Athaliahs usurpation of the throne of Judah, and during the greater portion of the forty-years reign of Joash. He married Jehosheba; and when Athaliah slew all the seed royal of Judah after Ahaziah had been put to death by Jehu, he and his wife stole Joash from among the kings sons and hid him for six years in the temple, and eventually replaced him on the throne of his ancestors. [Athaliah.] The destruction of Baal-worship and the restoration of the temple were among the great works effected by Jehoiada..
1A12
II Chronicles 22:12 And he was with them hid in the house of God six years:

and Athaliah reigned over the land.   —>   When Jehoshabeath grabbed Joashremember brethren, Joash is only 1 year old at this time, as such, he is in need of constant care for the most part and we have no idea where his mother Zibiah is at this time, so he has an un-named nursemaidshe also convinced his nursemaid to go with her. She hides both the baby boy and his nurse in a closet in the inner part of the palace until the coast was clear. Then, once the coast is clear, she and her husband Jehoiada the High Priest take them to Libnah where Fathers Temple is located and hides them in Fathers Temple. Hiding them here is a very safe place at this time, as both Ahaziah and his father Jehoram and Athaliah had outlawed the worship of Father and shuttered the doors to Fathers Temple.
