I KINGS CHAPTER 14

I Kings 13 had a superb lesson for us: Fathers children. Its easy for us 3,000 or so years in the future to the time Jeroboam ruled as king of the ten northern tribes of Israel, to see the short comings of Jeroboam, and each of the two prophets: the True Prophet of Father YHVH, and the old, or false lying prophet who is not of Father. To a point, the True Prophet had obeyed Father and His Word right down to the letter; however, along came a false prophet who he allowed to change Fathers plans for the True man of God. This false prophet did so, by first asking the True Prophet a few questions which seemed harmless enough at first; but, in reality were designed to draw the True Prophet away from Father and His plan. If youll recall, the lying prophets sons had told him everything that the True Prophet had told Jeroboam: i.e., that Josiah would come some 350+ years in the future, and he and desecrate Jeroboams altar; that the altar would break and pour out all the bones and ashes of the false prophets, and their idolatrous sacrifices. The point and the lesson for us, is that man thinks he is going to show the True People of Father YHVH a new, or different truth. Brethren, no matter who comes to you claiming to know something more, or different than you, if it isnt in Fathers Word, do not accept what that man says. Always check-out in Fathers Word what someoneeven myselfor what some manno gender involvedwho claims to be of Father says. Jesus taught us in both Matthew 15 and Mark 7 concerning traditions of man and how they make Fathers Word of none effect. Always, and I cannot stress that enough, always check-out and verify in Fathers Word, what some man of God claims to be in Fathers Word. A few examples: the rapture; easter celebration; the eating of the apple by Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden; only Noah, his wife, their sons and their wives and animals on the Ark; where Cains wife came from, just to name a few.

I Kings 14, like I Kings 13, I Kings 12, and I Kings 11 before it, laid out many of the idolatrous things which we should stay away from, if we are trying to be pleasing to Father. Those things were practices, or again, traditions of man which were taking place in Jeroboams kingdom. It was Father YHVH Who made Jeroboam king over the ten northern tribes of Israel, known as the House of Israel, and once the kingdom became his, he continued all of Solomons heathen rituals which Solomons wives brought with them; including sodomy, which Father despises. We read that Jeroboam made his own idols, his own priestsincluding himselfand completely turned his back to the things of Father. In disallowing the People of Israel to return to Jerusalem to worship Father, Jeroboam also forgot what Father says about His favorite city, to wit: I Kings 11:36 And unto his son (Rehoboam) will I give one tribe, that David My servant may have a light alway before Me in Jerusalem, the city which I have chosen Me to put My name there.   —>   Jerusalem is Fathers favorite site in all His Created Universe. We see this here, as well as, by His taking JebusDavid later named Jebus, Jerusalemto wife in Ezekiel 16:8; but, we can also read in: II Chronicles 33:4 Also he (king Manasseh) built altars in the house of the LORD, whereof the LORD had said,In Jerusalem shall My name be for ever.   —>   Yes brethren, I realize were reading in I Kings 14, about Jeroboam, and II Chronicles 33 concerns what Manasseh was doing; but, so was Jeroboam doing the same. Sadly, king Manasseh will continue the tradition of serving false gods and idols, and not only will he do so; but, like Solomon and several of the other kings of Judah, hell do so right there on the Mount of Olives, and even worse, right there inside the Temple that Solomon built and Father sanctified by dwelling there. What an abomination! Lets continue, and read of what he does: [33:5] And he built altars for all the host of heaven in the two courts of the house of the LORD. —>   I just cannot imagine, nor wrap my head around any of the kings being so ignorant as to put false gods and idols right there in the House of YHVH; though, I guess I shouldnt be too surprised, as it is happening in just about every kurch house today. Just about every Christian denominational kurch house, holds ishtar celebrations every spring. They fawn over their prosperity doctrines, rapture and many other man-made dogma. [33:6] And he caused his children to pass through the fire in the valley of the son of Hinnom: also he observed times, and used enchantments, and used witchcraft, and dealt with a familiar spirit, and with wizards: he wrought much evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke Him to anger.   —>  Brethren, think hard on this! What an absolute abomination for Manasseh to do. Right there in Fathers Temple he is worshipping molech and murdering the very flesh children Father had sent to this age in order to fulfill their yes, to Father that they too, would like Father, be born in the flesh. [33:7] And he set a carved image, the idol which he had made, in the house of God, of which God had said to David and to Solomon his son, In this house, and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen before all the tribes of Israel, will I put My name for ever: —>   Father knew what was happening! He didnt and doesnt like it! However, He allows things to come to pass in order to bring to fruition, His Plan. He knew that approximately 800 years in the future to this time, He would be born in the flesh, and then 33 years later, crucifiedmurderedright on the very Mount that is His favorite place. Though this did indeed come to pass, Jerusalem is still His favorite location, it is where hell return for His Second Advent; and where His New City will be established for the eternity.

So, now in this chapter, I Kings 14, Jeroboams troubles are going to continue coming back on him. The first thing well see will be that his son falls very ill. Jeroboamlike many peopledoesnt seek Father until it becomes a life and death situation. His son Abijah was his first born, and would have been the son next in line to the throne over the house of Israel. Does that come to pass? Lets read and find out.

With that introduction being said, lets go to Father and ask Him for His Blessings on our Study of His Word: Father, I come to You right now and ask that You Oh LORD Lead me and Guide me as I try and teach Your Word, dont allow me to mis-teach or mis-lead Your Children. We, Father, also come to You as a group who desire to Learn Your Word, to thank You for inviting us to Your table in order that we might be able to partake of and receive Your Spiritual Meat, and Father, as we prepare to dine on the sustenance which sustains our inner man, we ask that You Oh LORD open our ears and eyes, that we might be able to hear and see your Truths, open our hearts and minds and prepare us in order that we may receive Your Truth. We Pray for Your Understanding of Your Word, we seek Your Knowledge in Your Word, and most importantly Father, we Pray for and desire Your Wisdom from Your Word, in Jesus Precious name we Pray, thank You Father, Amen.

1A1
I Kings 14:1 At that time Abijah (father [that is worshipper] of YAH; and, my Father is YHVH) (ab-ee-yawי) the son of Jeroboam ([the] people will contend; and, whose people are many) (yaw-rob-awmי) fell sick.
—>   What Abijahs illness is, is never stated; however, Jeroboams actions in the following verses indicate that the boy was indeed close to death. The cause we can surmise was Father, especially considering last two Verses of the last Chapter which reads: I Kings 13:33 After this thing Jeroboam returned not from his evil way, but made again of the lowest of the People priests of the high places: whosoever would, he consecrated him, and he became one of the priests of the high places. [13:34] And this thing became sin unto the house of Jeroboam, even to cut it off, and to destroy it from off the face of the earth.
—>   Father was ending the line of Jeroboam.
Jeroboam
Jeroboam=Jeroboam was a son of Nebat and Zeruah. We read in I Kings 11:28, that he was a mighty man of valor, he was industrious, and that Solomon had put him in charge over all the House of Joseph. He became the first king of the divided House of Israel. It was Father Whobecause of Solomon serving his foreign wives false gods, and his and Israels turning from Fathersent his Prophet Ahijah to notify Jeroboam that Father was going to set him as king. Upon Solomons finding out that he would be king, Solomon sought to kill him, so he fled to Egypt in order to save his life until Solomon died and returned Home to Father. Upon Solomons death, he was sent for from Egypt to represent the People to speak to Solomons son Rehoboam, the United Kingdom of Israels fourth man-king. Rehoboam was heavily over taxing the People by not only continuing the construction his father had began, but, by increasing that construction. So, Jeroboam and the People came to Rehoboam asking that he lighten their burden some. Rehoboam consulted with first the elders, and then his peers. The elders told Rehoboam to lighten the burden and the People would do all he asked, Rehoboams peers however, told him to not only continue as he was doing, but to even add to it. Jeroboam and the People rebelled and then told Rehoboam in I Kings 12:16, which reads: I Kings 12:16 So when all Israel saw that the king hearkened not unto them, the people answered the king, saying, What portion have we in David? neither have we inheritance in the son of Jesse: to your tents, O Israel: now see to thine own house, David. So Israel departed unto their tents.. Thus Fathers Prophesy came to pass and the Nation became two separate Nations with Rehoboam ruling over the House of Judah and Jeroboam ruling over the House of Israel. Sadly though, Jeroboam feared that when his People went to Jerusalem to worship Father, they would desire to stay in Jerusalem and serve under Rehoboam again. So, Jeroboam set up two golden calves, one in Beth-El and one in Dan. He also set the lowest of people who were not even Levites as priests, including himself, he established high places for people to worship at, he changed Fathers Feast from the seventh month to the eighth month, and committed other abominations as well. Because of this, Father declared though His Prophet Ahijah in I Kings 13:34: I Kings 13:34And this thing became sin unto the house of Jeroboam, even to cut it off, and to destroy it from off the face of the earth.. Jeroboams son Abijah became sick and Jeroboam told his wife to disguise herself by dressing as a commoner and to go see Fathers Prophet Ahijah to ask him what would become of their son. Father was and is smarter than Jeroboam and told Ahijah what was about to transpire and when he was to tell Jeroboams wife. As soon as Jeroboams wife returned home to Jeroboam, their son died. Jeroboam reigned and ruled over the House of israel for twenty-two years and then he died. For the etymology of the name Jeroboam, we read the following in Abarim-Publications: The first and best known Jeroboam is the son of Nebat and Zeruah, and king of Israel (I Kings 11:26). King Solomon had appointed this Jeroboam as head over the forced labor of the territory of Joseph (11:28), and one day, as he goes out from Jerusalem, hes met by the prophet Ahijah. He tells Jeroboam that the Lord will give him the ten tribes of Israel. Jeroboam flees to Egypt but returns after Solomon dies and his son Rehoboam is reigning. The northern tribes revolt, Jeroboam fortifies Shechem and Penuel, erects golden calves at Bethel and Dan, and continues to earn his epitaph the king who made Israel sin (II Kings 13:6). The name Jeroboam consists of two elements. The final part is the word עם ss(יam), which can be either of the following: For a meaning of the name Jeroboam, New Open Bible Study Edition (NOBSE) Study Bible Name List reads May The People Increase and Jones Dictionary of Old Testament Proper Names offers Whose People Are Countless. Brown Driver Briggs (BDB) Theological Dictionary concedes that the name Jeroboam probably means The People Increaseth, but also refers to the verb ריב (rib), meaning to strive or contend: Hence BDB offers the secondary possibilities of The People Contendeth and (The God) Amm Contendeth.. Now from the Strongs Concordance, where we find that it is Hebrew word number: H3379, - יָרָבְעָם, - yârob‛âm, pronounced - yaw-rob-armי, and means: From H7378 and H5971; (the) people will contend, Jarobam, the name of two Israelite kings: - Jeroboam. Total KJV occurrences: 104.. Now from the Smiths Bible Dictionary, where we read: whose people are many. The first king of the divided kingdom of Israel, was the son of an Ephraimite of the name of Nebat. He was raised by Solomon to the rank of superintendent over the taxes and labors exacted from the tribe of Ephraim I Kings 11:28. He made the most of his position, and at last was perceived by Solomon to be aiming at the monarchy. He was leaving Jerusalem, when he was met by Ahijah the prophet, who gave him the assurance that, on condition of obedience to his laws, God would establish for him a kingdom and dynasty equal to that of David I Kings 11:29-40. The attempts of Solomon to cut short Jeroboams designs occasioned his flight into Egypt. There he remained until Solomons death. After a years longer stay in Egypt, during which Jeroboam married Ano, the elder sister of the Egyptian queen Tahpenes, he returned to Shechem, where took place the conference with Rehoboam [REHOBOAM], and the final revolt which ended in the elevation of Jeroboam to the throne of the northern kingdom. Now occurred the fatal error of his policy. Fearing that the yearly pilgrimages to Jerusalem would undo all the work which he effected, he took the bold step of rending the religious unity of the nation, which was as yet unimpaired, asunder. He caused two golden figures of Mnevis, the sacred calf, to be made and set up at the two extremities of his kingdom, one at Dan and the other at Bethel. It was while dedicating the altar at Bethel that a prophet from Judah suddenly appeared, who denounced the altar, and foretold its desecration by Josiah, and violent overthrow. The king, stretching out his hand to arrest the prophet, felt it withered and paralyzed, and only at the prophets prayer saw it restored, and acknowledged his divine mission. Jeroboam was at constant war with the house of Judah, but the only act distinctly recorded is a battle with Abijah, son of Rehoboam, in which he was defeated. The calamity was severely felt; he never recovered the blow, and soon after died, in the 22d year of his reign II Chronicles 13:20, and was buried in his ancestral sepulchre I Kings 14:20..
1A2
I Kings 14:2 And Jeroboam said to his wife, Arise, I pray thee, and disguise thyself, that thou be not known to be the wife of Jeroboam; and get thee to Shiloh (place of rest; and, tranquillity) (shee-loי): behold, there is Ahijah (brother (that is, worshipper) of Yah; and, friend of YAH) (akh-ee-yahי) the prophet, which told me that I should be king over this People.   —>   …said to his wife…get thee to Shiloh…= Jeroboam has his wife dress as a commoner in order to go to Shiloh to see the True Prophet of Father: Ahijahthe same man who came to him, rent his new garment into 12 pieces and told Jeroboam to take 10 of the pieces, as he was about to inherit the ten northern tribes of Israeland have her ask Father to tell them what would become of their son Abiah.

Its funny, Jeroboam set-up those two golden clavesone in Beth-el and one in Danfor the ten northern tribes to serve and worship; yet, he himself has no confidence or faith in those golden calves he had crafted and set-up. No, they were for political expedience only. It just goes to show that even he knew they were false and could do nothing on their own. How sad then, that he forbade the People to go to Jerusalem and serve and worship Father; but, required them to stay right there and go to either Beth-el or Dan and serve and worship his false gods. Notice also, that Jeroboam does know where True Prophesy comes from, as he sends his wife to see Ahijah, the very same prophet who told him in I Kings 13, that he would be king over the House of Israel. I ask you brethren, do you thinkas Jeroboam doesthat with everything that Jeroboam is doing is under these false pretenses, that he can obtain Fathers advice? No, he cannot. Father will not answer Jeroboam, nor will He bless Jeroboam, or his family.
Shiloh
Shiloh=We first read of Shiloh in Joshua 18:1 as our forefathers were moving into the Promised Land. Fathers Ark and Tabernacle were set-up in Shiloh. Five of the Tribes had already received their inheritance and allotment of land, and it was from Shiloh that Joshua sent 3 men from the remaining Tribes to describe the land before them into seven portions in order for him to cast lots before Father, so theythe remaining seven Tribescould each receive their inheritance. Having done so; the inheritances of the seven Tribes were assigned by lot. It was from Shiloh that the Tribes of Reuben and Gad departed for their previously appointed lots. Shiloh is also where, after our forefathers defeated the Benjamites and the men of Gibeah because of the men of Gibeah abusing the Levitie Priests concubine and the men of Benjamin siding with the men of Gibeah, that they held the yearly Feast of Father, and during this Feast they held a dance. It was during this dance, that they told the last 600 men of Benjamin to lie in wait in the vineyards and catch every man his wife from the daughters of Shiloh. Shiloh was where Elkanah and his wife Hannah went yearly to sacrifice and worship Father; and it was there that Hannah prayed to Father for a son, as to this point in their marriage, Father had shut up Hannahs womb. Father heard and answered Hannahs prayer and Blessed her with a son: Samuel. As Samuel grew, Hannah took Samuel to Eliwho was the Priest and Judge of Israel at this time and resided in Shilohand consecrated him as a Nazarite and to Fathers service. It was while Samuel was ministering before Father under the tutelage of Eli, that Father called to Samuel those three times, telling Samuel that He would perform against Eli and his two sons: Hophni and Phinehaswho were raping the women, stealing from the People and committing other abominationsall He told Eli He would do to his house, i.e., neither of his sons would live to an old age and the Priesthood would be given back to the lineage of EleazarHophni and Phinehas both passed within a few years, but, the passing of the Priesthood didnt take place until many years later, during the time of Solomon. Shiloh was where Fathers prophet Ahijah resided during the days of king Jeroboam reign and rule over the divided House of Israel. For the etymology of the name Shiloh, we read the following in Abarim Publications: The town of Shiloh is most famous for being the first seat of government of the invading Israelite forces under Joshua. At Shiloh the tent of meeting was set up (Joshua 18:1), the land was divided (18:10), and judges were seated, up to Eli and Samuel (I Samuel 1:9). Since שילה, the Messianic title, is so important, meanings are at once disputed. Brown Driver Briggs (BDB) Theological Dictionary leans towards a reading that Jones Dictionary of Old Testament Proper Names resolutely rejects, namely a compound of two elements, the first one being שׁ, the short form of אשר ss(יasher) meaning who or whose: And the second element, לו (lu), a particle that denotes potentiality, usually supplicatory, such as: if only, would it be that, may it be — in translations this word is often represented by Oh! May it be that... More streamlined translations would probably choose something like Oh, I wish that... Still, it should be noted that even though English doesnt have a word that expresses supplicatory potential, the Hebrew language does. In English its hard to turn the phrase into a name (Omayitbe or Goshiwishthat?) but in Hebrew it isnt. In fact, the name of the first king of Israel, Saul, means something along the same line: Wished For. The Messiah of Israel was by no means just for Israel. Genesis 17:5 and 18:18 make it very clear: in Abraham — or more precise: through the covenant that God made with Abraham, the covenant of which Jesus Christ was the fulfillment — all the nations of the earth would be blessed (see also EPHESIANS 3:15 and REVELATION 21:24). The prophet Balaam of Pethor foresaw a crushing ruler arise from Israel and take possession of all nations in Balaams scope (Numbers 24:17), but the prophet Haggai, who wrote just after the return, perhaps tapped into Genesis 49:10 when he wrote, ...and I will shake all nations, and the desire of all nations will come... (2:7). The Messianic name Shiloh is then, with quite a substantial bit of poetic lenience, said to mean He Whose It Is (according to BDB Theological Dictionary). The main literary defensive argument for this view comes from Ezekiel 21:27, where the prophet speaks of he who shall come and whose right it is to own everything. In this statement the section between until the coming of... and ...is the right, and I will give it is spelled אשר־לו, which looks a lot like the expanded version of our name. Add to that the detail that both Genesis 40:10 and Ezekiel 21:27 deal with Judah and the government or ownership of that tribe, and the argument becomes quite compelling. In his counter-argument, Jones Dictionary of Old Testament Proper Names notes that Ezekiels style is rather modern, Biblically spoken, and quite unlike material found in the Pentateuch. But that argument may be annulled by the Pentateuchs late edition theory, which suggests that the Book of Genesis, though originally very old, was edited to its present form around the time of Ezekiel. Either way, we may be quite certain that Ezekiel, a priest who experienced Nebuchadnezzars siege of Jerusalem, was well aware of the prophecy of Genesis 49:10. And from an author of that caliber we may expect confident references instead of accidental similarities. Isaiah, also not a marginal poet, wrote more than a hundred years prior to Ezekiel (although critics bothered with the name of Cyrus in chapters 44 and 45 place him, or at least these references, after the return from the exile). Isaiah seems to refer to the larger compass of Genesis 49:10 in his famous Messianic prophecy, when he says, For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; and the government will rest on his shoulders (9:6). After this reference to government, Isaiah lavishes the Messiah with a series of honorary titles: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, and Prince of Peace, which brings us to the interpretation of the name Shiloh that Jones Dictionary of Old Testament Proper Names and some others favor and BDB Theological Dictionary not even considers: a derivation of the verb שלה (shala), to extract and hence to be quiet or at rest, with the distinct connotation of prospering: BDB Theological Dictionary thinks that the Messianic title means He Whose It Is but Jones Dictionary of Old Testament Proper Names refers to the Samaritan Pentateuch, where this name is translated as Pacific, Pacificator or Tranquility. BDB Theological Dictionary and Jones Dictionary of Old Testament Proper Names agree, however, that the name of Shiloh the town indeed is derived of שלה (shala). As such is may be translated as Tranquility Town (or Fair Haven or Pleasantville). New Open Bible Study Edition (NOBSE) Study Bible Name List doesnt translate either name.. Now from the Strongs Concordance, where we find that it is Hebrew word number: H7887, - שִׁילֹה,ssשִׁלֹה,ssשִׁילו,ssor שִׁלוֹ,ss shı̂ylôh or shilôh or shı̂ylô or shilô, pronounced - shee-loי, and means: From the same as H7886; tranquil, Shiloh, a place in Palestine: - Shiloh. Total KJV occurrences: 32.. Now from the Smiths Bible Dictionary, where we read A city of Ephraim. In Judges 21:19 it is said that Shiloh is on the north side of Bethel, on the east side of the highway that goeth up from Bethel to Shechem and on the south of Lebonah. In agreement with this the traveller of our own city, going north from Jerusalem, lodges the first night at Beitin, the ancient Bethel; the next day, at the distance of a few hours, turns aside to the right, in order to visit Seilun, the Arabic for Shiloh; and then passing through the narrow wady which brings him to the main road, leaves el-Lebban, the Lebonah of Scripture, on the left, as he pursues the highway to Nublus, the ancient Shechem. [SHECHEM] Shiloh was one of the earliest and most sacred of the Hebrew sanctuaries. The ark of the covenant, which had been kept at Gilgal during the progress of the conquest, Joshua 17:1 seq., was removed thence on the subjugation of the country, and kept at Shiloh from the last days of Joshua to the time of Samuel Joshua 18:10; Judges 18:31; I Samuel 4:3. It was here the Hebrew conqueror divided among the tribes the portion of the west Jordan region which had not been already allotted Joshua 18:10; 19:51. In this distribution, or an earlier one, Shiloh fell within the limits of Ephraim Joshua 16:5. The ungodly conduct of the sons of Eli occasioned the loss of the ark of the covenant, which had been carried into battle against the Philistines, and Shiloh from that time sank into insignificance. It stands forth in the Jewish history as a striking example of the divine indignation Jeremiah 7:12..

I Kings 14:3 And take with thee ten loaves, and cracknels, and a cruse of honey, and go to him: he shall tell thee what shall become of the child.   —>   The loaves are breadnotice Jeroboam tells his wife to take ten, in other words, maybe one symbolizing each of the ten tribes of Israel under him; did he not think that that act alone, might give them away?. The cracknels are cakes, and a cruse is a flask or bottle. So, what we see in this are things which any commoner would have; not, the high value gifts, i.e., gold or silver, which a king might offer. This is all done to continue Jeroboams attempted deception of Ahiahand Father too reallyin order that he might obtain, or buy favor from Father. Brethren, Father is omnipresent and omniscient, in other words, He is in all places at the same time, and knows all things; therefore, there is no way anybody can con Him.

he=Some Codices, such as the Septuagint, read: …and he….
1A4
I Kings 14:4 And Jeroboam's wife did so, and arose, and went to Shiloh, and came to the house of Ahijah. But Ahijah could not see; for his eyes were set by reason of his age.   —>   Jeroboams wife did as her husband, the king, commanded. She dressed herself as a commoner, and then went to see Ahiah. As were about to find out, though Ahijah has a physical disabilitydue to old ageof not being able to see with his flesh eyes, he does see extremely well with his Spiritual eyes, as he is one of Fathers Prophets, and Father is going to tell him what, or who is about come through his door, for what purpose, and what he is to do and say to Jeroboams wife. On the other hand, we have Jeroboam and his wife who both can see with their flesh eyes; however, neither can see spiritually, because they are nowhere near to Father YHVH.

So, what kind of woman must this wife of Jeroboams have been? To come to a knowledge of this, we first have to look at her husband, and also the marriages of men and women today. We know that some men and women marry a spouse who espouses the very same ideas, activities, politics etc., that they have; however, there are those who marry a spouse who has the exact opposite of those same traits. Sadly also, we know there are some womenand to some extent, men tooout there who look for someone who has much wealth. Notice ,Fathers Word doesnt say whether she would during the course of their meeting, identify herself as Jeroboams wife, It also doesnt say that she would ask, as a commoner concerning the well-being of the child of the king, nor does it say that she would actually identify herself as a commoner in the kingdom whose child was very ill, and what the outcome of the childs health might be. It just says that she did as Jeroboam asked, and dressed in disguise as a commoner and went to see Ahiah. So, with all these thoughts in mind, I think we can pretty much safely assume that both Jeroboam and his wife, married someone who did indeed espouse the same ideologies and traits; therefore, it assists in explaining why Jeroboams wife offered no other course of action when he told her to disguise herself to go and see Ahiah, in order to see what he might tell her concerning what would be the outcome of their son. What idea of the living God had Jeroboam and his wife, that they could even think that they could deceive His prophet by any disguise? You can see by their actions that they did not comprehend that they were dealing with Father in the person of His prophet. She too thoughlike Jeroboammust have been a very ungodly woman who worshipped any and everything under the sun. This shouldnt surprise anyone, as under Solomonand because he was trying to please his many foreign wives by serving their godsthe kingdom turned away from Father and served all sorts of false gods and idols. So, in reality, both Jeroboam and his wifes being ungodly shouldnt surprise anyone. Again, with both their being far from Father, she too like her husband, could not recognize, or see the hand of Father in this trial. How will she further respond? Lets continue reading and find out:

                                       14:5 Messenger revealed to Ahijah.
1A5
I Kings 14:5 And the LORD said unto Ahijah, Behold, the wife of Jeroboam cometh to ask a thing of thee for her son; for he is sick: thus and thus shalt thou say unto her: for it shall be, when she cometh in, that she shall feign herself to be another woman.   —>   Father tells Ahijah that he is about to have a visitor, itll be Jeroboams wife; however, shell belike satan in his role of antichrist, the pretend-to-be someone else, only in his case hell be pretending to be jesuspretending to be just a commoner coming to ask him for a healing for her son. Father tells Ahiah what he shall say to her, and to let her know that He is on her and Jeroboams deceptive ways.

Father has ways of directing those who put their trust in Him, and seeing to it that His Will be carried out; and when you follow Fathers ways, you will then have His blessings.

The LORD=This Title of Father as used here in this verse, is Father in His Role of יְהֹוָה, YHVHfrom Dr. Bullingers Companion Bible Appendices: YHVH, YAHVEH, or YEHOVAHthe sacred and personal name of Father. While Elohim is God as the Creator of all things, YEHOVAH is the same God in covenant relation to those whom He has created (compare II Chronicles 18:31). YEHOVAH means the Eternal, the Immutable One, He Who WAS, and IS, and IS TO COME. The Divine definition is given in Genesis 21:33. He is especially, therefore, the God of Israel; and the God of those who are redeemed, and are thus now in Christ. We can say My God, but not My YEHOVAH, for YEHOVAH is MY God..

                                       14:6 Messenger revealed to Ahijah.
1A6
I Kings 14:6 And it was so, when Ahijah heard the sound of her feet, as she came in at the door, that he said, Come in, thou wife of Jeroboam; why feignest thou thyself to be another? for I am sent to thee with heavy tidings.   —>   Can you imagine her surprised disbelief, and then the look of absolute shock on her face at hearing him immediately announce who she was upon entering into his house; especially considering he is physically blind. Ill bet she was close to dropping dead right there on the spot, and shell be even closer as the next several events come to pass.

Anyway, after recovering slightly from her stagger, she proceeds to tell Ahijah her purpose for coming to see him. Seeing how he already knew who she was as soon as she entered, she should have figured he also already knew the why she was there.

                                       14:7-11 Message from YHVH to
                                          Jeroboam.
1A7
I Kings 14:7 Go, tell Jeroboam, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Forasmuch as I exalted thee from among the People, and made thee prince over My People Israel (he will rule as YAH; or, the prince that prevails with YAH) (Yis-raw-aleי) (secondary map),   —>   Ahjiah continues, now telling Jeroboams wife what Father wanted Jeroboam to hear: i.e., that it was He Who sent Ahijah to Jeroboam to tell him that He was going to raise Jeroboam up to be king over the ten northern tribes of His People Israel; however, He did so while at the same time placing a condition on Jeroboam. The condition was this: Serve only Father by hearing and obeying His Commandments, Judgments, Laws, Ordinances, and Statutes. if you fail to live up to and continue to meet those conditions, then He would send judgment upon Jeroboam. Brethren, this isnt hard, not on Jeroboam, nor on us, and these are the same conditions He places on each of His Children, if we want to enter into His Kingdom and live eternally with Him.

I Kings 14:8 And rent the kingdom away from the house of David (loving; and, well-beloved) (Daw-veedי), and gave it thee: and yet thou hast not been as My servant David, who kept My commandments, and who followed Me with all his heart, to do that only which was right in Mine eyes;   —>   It was Father, and no other, Who, because of Solomons idolatry, tore His kingdom into two separate Nations in order to try and get the Peoples attention and cause them to turn from their evil ways, and refocus their eyes, and their ways back upon Him.

I Kings 14:9 But hast done evil above all that were before thee: for thou hast gone and made thee other gods, and molten images, to provoke Me to anger, and hast cast Me behind thy back:   —>   Here, Father is still speaking through Ahijah to Jeroboams wife, He tells her to tell Jeroboam that he has not only done evil; but, more so than any other rulerand not just the kings of Israelto this point in this Age of Flesh man. That, Jeroboam broke the first two Commandments when he cast, formed, fashioned, madehowever you want to say itthose two golden calves for the People to come before and worship, idols that he himself didnt even have the confidence in, because he knew in his own heart that they were only idols; yet, in spite of this, he still placed those false man-made idols before Father YHVH. Forsake Father and He most assuredly will forsake you.

cast Me behind thy back…=Lets examine the word cast in this verse as, this saying is used in only two other places in all of Fathers Word: first in Nehemiah 9:26 and then also in Ezekiel 23:35. Cast in the Strongs Concordance is Hebrew word number H7993, - שׁלך, - shâlak, pronounced - shaw-lakי, and means: A primitive root; to throw out, down or away (literally or figuratively): - adventure, cast (away, down, forth, off, out), hurl, pluck, throw. Total KJV occurrences: 125.. So, what Father is saying, is that, Jeroboam had so much distain for Father, that he contemptuously flung Him away from him as though He were something vile and evil; when in reality, this is exactly the opposite of what Father is. Father is our Creator, He is Love, Morality, and Righteousness. However, lets read and listen to the next verse, and see and hear what He will do to Jeroboam because of his casting Father off and out of Israel:
1A10
I Kings 14:10 Therefore, behold, I will bring evil (calamity or distress) upon the house of Jeroboam, and will cut off from Jeroboam him that pisseth against the wall, and him that is shut up and left in Israel, and will take away the remnant of the house of Jeroboam, as a man taketh away dung, till it be all gone.   —>   Jeroboam had gone too far in his insulting Father! Remember, it was Father YHVH Who took this common everyday man and made him a king over His People, only to have His Blessings thrown right back into his face. Father had guaranteed to Jeroboam that if he was a hearer and doer of His Word; and, if he followed Fathers ways, then He would Bless him, all those in his household, and his kingdom forever! But sadly, this foolish man, simply did not believe Father. So now, Father is promising Jeroboam that He will removeby killingevery single one of Jeroboams male descendants, and He will also bring evil to his kingdom. This phrase shut up means, that even those who have fortified themselves in Israel, Father is going to scatter. Father is telling Jeroboam that his family is going to be treated like feces, cast-out, eliminated, and then scattered until they are all gone. This is what Father through His prophet is telling this wife of Jeroboam, and she is now to go back and tell her husband that he has messed around with Father YHVH, and now He is going to repay him for the insults that he has heaped upon Father. Our Father has emotionsits where we get ours fromand Jeroboam has played around with Fathers emotions to the point, where Father is now going to put him and his kingdom out of His sight.

…dung…=In no time during the Age of flesh man, has dung been thought of, in or with high regard; and that is what Father is comparing Jeroboams house with now: dung. So in other words, He is saying that, because of Jeroboams fashioning those false gods and idols, his worship of, and causing Israel to worship them, He thinks Jeroboamone of His creationis about the same level as satan, to whom He told in Genesis 3:13-14, which reads: Genesis 3:13 And the LORD God said unto the woman, What is this that thou hast done? And the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat. Genesis 3:14 And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life:  —>   Here, Father tells satan, that because of what he has doneby drawing one-third of Fathers Children away from Him in the First Earth Age, and by beguiling Eve, i.e., seducing her in the Garden of Edenhe is the lowest form of life Father created. Here, in I Kings 14:10, Father is comparing Jeroboam with satan because of what he has done.
1A11
I Kings 14:11 Him that dieth of Jeroboam in the city shall the dogs eat; and him that dieth in the field shall the fowls of the air eat: for the LORD hath spoken it.ss  —>   Talk about having to be the bearer of bad news. Would you volunteer to change places with Jeroboams wife? Or could you even imagine being in her shoes?

…shall the dogs eat…=This is part of the cursefound in Deuteronomy 28:14-68that Father said He would bring upon all those in Israel who turned from Honoring, Loving, Serving and Worshipping Him.

                                       14:12 Messenger to return.
1A12
I Kings 14:12 Arise thou therefore, get thee to thine own house: and when thy feet enter into the city, the child shall die.   —>   Father finished by telling Jeroboams wife, that as soon as her feet falls touched the ground back in Samaria, her son Abijah would die and return Home to Him.

Can you imagine hearing this bit of news brethren? What was Jeroboams wife to do, especially considering knowing, that should she indeed return to her own home, as soon as she does, her child will die? Actually, what she should have done, knowing that upon her foot stepping onto the soil there in Samaria her son Abijah would die, she should have gotten someone else to summon and fetch her husband Jeroboam out to her, and then demanded of him, that the two of them repent of their evilness, turn away from their wicked ways, dedicate their lives, and the life of their son to Father.

As for Jeroboams child who would die and return Home to be with Father, that flesh life was taken in the infinite wisdom of Father, why? Because He called that child Home to Him, He ordained it to be this way for His plan and purpose. He told Jeroboam of His conditionsand Jeroboam understood those conditionsbefore He ever placed Jeroboam in charge of the kingdom; however, Jeroboam did not live up to Fathers Conditions, Commandments, Judgments, Laws, Ordinances and statutes. Jeroboam understood from the beginning, that should he violate Fathers Word, then something along these lines would happen. Now that it is coming to pass, he is trying to con a prophet of Father YHVH into changing Father YHVHS mind. Father expects us to handle those things that are common to all people, especially if you have His blessings upon you.

Losing a child is a hard thing; however, it is not something that has not happened before. If youll recall, even David lost the child he illegitimately fathered with Bath-sheba, a child that he loved when that child was just an infant. Father also brought that child Home to Him in its infancy because of the conditions that he placed on the childs father: David. And now, here in the case of Jeroboam, a man in complete defiance of Father, he also lost his first son whom he loved. The difference between the two, was that David knew and understood why it took place, and he accepted it and he never lost his faith and trust in Father; Jeroboam on the other hand, from the onset never trusted Father to keep his kingdom intact, and therefore, he never intended to keep Fathers Commandments and laws.

                                       14:13 Messenger to return.
1A13
I Kings 14:13 And all Israel shall mourn for him, and bury him: for he only of Jeroboam shall come to the grave, because in him there is found some good thing toward the LORD God of Israel in the house of Jeroboam.   —>   Abijah was Jeroboams eldest son, thus making himat least before his deaththe heir apparent to the throne. Notice though, Father says that Israel will bury this young child of Jeroboams; however, he will be the only male of Jeroboams lineage who will indeed be buried. The body of all the other males in Jeroboams family line, including Jeroboam himself, will not have the opportunity to be buried.

For those of you who think that Father is being a little harsh, and also going against His Wordthe son shall not suffer for the sins of the father, Jeremiah 31:29-30you better think again. I also caution care in trying to judge Father in this matter. First of all, we see in this verse, that Father did indeed find something in this child that was good, what it was, Fathers Word doesnt declare, and for all we know, it may have been something he did in the first Earth Age. Also, as well learn by our continued studying of Fathers Word, every other descendant of Jeroboams will like his father, theyll serve false gods and idols, and it is for this reason, that they too will suffer the same fate as their father.

                                       14:14-16 Messenger from YHVH.
1A14
I Kings 14:14 Moreover the LORD shall raise Him up a king over Israel, who shall cut off the house of Jeroboam that day: but what? even now.   —>   Lets start with the end of this verse but what? even now I wanted to start here, as the translators didnt quite get this correct in their translation. By this, I mean that, as we see in the beginning of the verse, Father declares that He shall raise up another personwell find that it will be Baashato be the next king over the House of Israel; and when we then add the even now in its proper place, well see that Father is actually stating, that He is even now, raising up Baasha to be king…. So, by putting the even now at the end of the verse, we see that, that was where the translators failed in their proper translating of the verse.
1A15
I Kings 14:15 For the LORD shall smite Israel, as a reed is shaken in the water, and He shall root up Israel out of this good land, which He gave to their fathers, and shall scatter them beyond the river, because they have made their groves, provoking the LORD to anger.   —>   …as a reed is shaken in the water…=This is a Hebrew idiom which means, to be shaken to and fro in the water by the wind, in other words, to be shaken to the point of being uprooted and washed away because of a lack of stability.

…this good land…=This phrase is only used here and in Joshua 23:15-16. Of course, Father is referring to the Promised Land. The land He had Promised to lead Abram to, and then Promised him He would bring his descendants to; after He caused them to be in bondage to the Egyptians for those 400 years. Remember also though brethren, this prophecy is directed to the House of Israel only, Israel and Judah are two separate nations. Father is addressing just the ten tribes of the House of Israel here, and not the House of Judah. He will not put up with their going up to the high places and practicing grove worship, which was worshipping some object or entity through their sexual orgies; instead of Honoring, Loving, Serving and Worshipping Father Himself.

…shall scatter them beyond the river…=The river of course, is the Euphrates River, which was the border between Israel and Babylon, in other words, the border on the edge of confusion. Brethren, both Houses have been scattered into confusion even to this day! Neither Israel, i.e., those of the True House of Israel: the Ten Northern Tribes, nor the House of Judah, know who they even are today. Everybody, including themselvesthe Jewsbelieve all twelve tribes are in Israel today; and likewise also, everybody believes all Israelites are known as the Jews, when that just is not trueThe House of Israel was taken into captivity by Shalmaneser and the Assyrians in 611B.C., and then later scattered up over the Caucasus Mountains; and are still for the most part, scattered around the globe today. They are known today by many different names, Khumri - the Assyrian name for Israel, for (King) Omri of Israel, 10 tribes, before the captivity, pronounced Ghimri in Hebrew, Ghimri - the Hebrew pronunciation of Omri; Gimera - the Assyrian name for the 10 tribes during the captivity; Gimiri - the Babylonian name for Gimera on the Behistun inscription; Saka - the Persian name for Gimiri on the Behistun and other inscriptions; Sakasuna - the Persian word for the sons of Saka, or Saksons; Sacae - the Latin and English for Saka, Sak-Geloths - Hebrew, prisoners of Isaac, Goths - Latin, probably from Sak-Geloth, tribes of Scythians; Beth-Sak - Hebrew, House of Isaac; Scythians - (Latin and English for the Greek words — Skuthes or Sakai), Skuthes - Greek (Skoo-thace) for Scythian or Saka, probably of foreign origin Sakai - Greek for the Persian word Saka Scolots & Scoloti - The Greeks said they were Royal Scythians; Cimmerians - Greek, (actually the Latin word for the Greek - Kimmerioi) derived from Ghimri (King Omri of Israel); Celts - English for the Greek word — (Keltoi), Gauls - Latin for Celts (Keltoi), Germans - Latin for Genuine or original Scythians, Saxons - Latin and English for Saksons, Angli - Greek. A large tribe of the Saka (Ephraim) Angles - English for Angli. Engel means bull in Hebrew, The primary emblem for Ephraim was the bull; Jutes - A Saxon tribe from Jutland (Denmark), invaded Britain with the Angles and Saxons 449 to 557A.D.. Again, Herodotus said that the Scolots, as the Greeks called them, were true Scythians or Royal Scythians, and their location was given as the Crimea and the northern coasts of the Black Sea. It seems that Herodotus Scolots are the same people that we know today as the Scots of Scotland, these peoples today are known as the Caucasian Race of people, they are scattered throughout Europe, and they also settled the United States and Canada. The House of Judah, i.e., the two tribes of Judah and Benjamin, with a sprinkling in of Manasseh and the Levitical Priesthood, and their tag along friends: the kenite nethinims, are who are in, and make-up, the Nation of Israel.
1A16
I Kings 14:16 And He shall give Israel up because of the sins of Jeroboam, who did sin, and who made Israel to sin.   —>   Jeroboams so great a sin, was that he caused all Israel to go up into those high placesremember, we already discussed where they were...right there on the Mount of Olivesand carve out those groves, where they cut the trees down to stumps resembling phallic symbols and held their orgies. When the women became pregnant after those orgies, they then sacrificed the babies in the fire to molech. It was for this reason, that Father was so greatly angry with Jeroboam, that He completely cut off him and all his other descendants, save Abijah.

…made Israel to sin…=This is the first of 21 occurrences of the use of this phrase in these two Books of the Kings: Here in I Kings 14:16; I Kings 15:26,30,34; I Kings 16:19,26; I Kings 21:22; I Kings 22:52; II Kings 3:3; II Kings 10:29,31; II Kings 13:2,6,11; II Kings 14:24; II Kings 15:9,18,24,28; and II Kings 23:15.

                                             14:17 Jeroboams wife returns.
1A17
I Kings 14:17 And Jeroboams wife arose, and departed, and came to Tirzah (delightsomeness; and, delight) (teer-tsawי): and when she came to the threshold of the door, the child died;   —>   Ahijah had just told this woman that not only was her son going to die; but, that his death would take place the very moment her footstep touched her citys boundry. I would remind you brethren, this judgment was given by Father because of the actions of her husband and herself, so dont spend too much time feeling sorry for her; however, I can only imagine the torture she is going through. Shes returning home with many scattered and appalling thoughts running through her head, and deep sorrow and pain filling her heart, obviously greatly grieved at the thought of her sons impending death. That pain was doubled in knowing the exact time it would happenthe minute she set foot in the cityand that her arrival would cause his deathalthough, we know that it was not her physical location that would actually cause his death. Im sure her mind was racing for a solution to prevent her sons death, such as not returning at all, or otherwise delaying her return. Undoubtedly, her actions would not preclude Fathers will, and at some point, Father would directly affect her actions to ensure her ultimate return. Think of it brethren, she had all this to bear and she was indeed in a miserable state of mind and in mourning at the unavoidable of the death of her son. She wanted to make haste to tell her husband, Jeroboam; however, the quicker she moved trying to get there before her son died, the quicker he would die. Despite all the thoughts she probably had about changing the judgment of Father, she knew that she indeed had no choice but to return, even knowing what would happen the moment she did. So, according as Father spoke it, the very moment she crossed the city border and then entered into her home, she found that her son had given up the spirit, as the Ahijah had said; and she then related all the circumstances to Jeroboam.

This Tirzah, was a city of the Canaanites. When our forefathers captured and then moved into the Promised Land, Tirzah was part of the lands they captured as can be read in Joshua 12:24, though at first they had made Shechem the Nations capital. However, in the very near future, Jeroboams replacementBaashawill make Tirzah the new Capital city for the ten northern tribes; and then later, after Omri gets done building it, Samaria will be the new capital city of the House of Israel.

Tizrah=The first we read of Tizrah is in Joshua 12 when our forefathers were moving into the Promised Land. We read Joshua 12:7 And these are the kings of the country which Joshua and the children of Israel smote on this side Jordan on the west, from Baalgad in the valley of Lebanon even unto the mount Halak, that goeth up to Seir; which Joshua gave unto the tribes of Israel for a possession according to their divisions; [12:8] In the mountains, and in the valleys, and in the plains, and in the springs, and in the wilderness, and in the south country; the Hittites, the Amorites, and the Canaanites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites: and then in Verse [12:24] The king of Tirzah, one: all the kings thirty and one.. As we see, Tizrah was a royal city of the Canaanites. It superseded Shechem as capital of the Northern Kingdom I Kings 14:17, and itself gave place in turn to Samaria. Here reigned kings Jeroboam, Nadab his son, Baasha, Elah, and Zimri. When Baasha died, they buried his body in Tirzah. King Elah was assassinated while drinking himself drunk in the house of his steward; therefore, he too was probably buried there. Zimri perished in the flames of his palace, rather than fall into Omris hands. It was in Tirzah that Menahem matured his rebellion against Shallum. For the etymology of the name Tizrah, we read the following in Abarim Publications: Tirzah the city is located near Samaria and is conquered by Joshua (Joshua 12:24). King Solomon praises her beauty (Song of Solomon 6:4) and king Jeroboam moves his seat of power to there (I Kings 14:17, here this town is called תרצת (Tirzath). Israels kings down to Omri rule from Tirzah (I Kings 16:23). Omri buys a hill from a man named Shemer, and builds the city Samaria on it (6:24). When his son Ahab becomes king, he rules from Samaria. The last we hear of Tirzah is that its the scene of a massacre instigated by the cruel king Menahem of Israel (II Kings 15:16). Judging from 15:14, king Menahem was a native of that town. The name Tirzah comes from the verb רצה (rasa), meaning to be pleased with or favorable to: The letter ת (taw) with which the name Tirzah starts comes from a common linguistic construction that allows a noun to express an intensification of the verb. For a meaning of the name Tirzah, New Open Bible Study Edition (NOBSE) Study Bible Name List reads Delight. Jones Dictionary of Old Testament Proper Names reads Pleasantness. And in a rare show of generosity, even Brown Driver Briggs (BDB) Theological Dictionary translates this name and proposes Pleasure, Beauty.. Now from the Strongs Concordance, where we find that it is Hebrew word number: H8656, - תִּרְצָה, - tirtsâh, pronounced - teer-tsawי, and means: From H7521; delightsomeness; Tirtsah, a place in Palestine; also an Israelitess: - also an Israelitess: - Tirzah. Total KJV occurrences: 18.. Now from the Smiths Bible Dictionary, where we read: Delight. An ancient Canaanite city, whose king is enumerated among those overthrown in the conquest of the country Joshua 12:24. It reappears as a royal city, the residence of Jeroboam and of his successors I Kings 14:17,18, and as the seat of the conspiracy of Menahem ben-Gaddi against the wretched Shallum II Kings 15:16. Its reputation for beauty throughout the country must have been widespread. It is in this sense that it is spoken of in the Song of Solomon. Eusebius mentions it in connection with Menahem, and identifies it with a village of Samaritans in Batanea. Its site is Telluzah, a place in the mountains north of Nablus..

                                                       14:18 Reign. End.
1A18
I Kings 14:18 And they buried him; and all Israel mourned for him, according to the word of the LORD, which He spake by the hand of his servant Ahijah the prophet.   —>   In thisthe people morning the childs death and their burying himwe see the prophesy of Father spoken in verse 14:13 above, coming to pass. This should surprise no one, as Fathers Word always comes to pass exactly as spoken or written.

                                            14:19 Jeroboam. Record.
1A19
I Kings 14:19 And the rest of the acts of Jeroboam, how he warred, and how he reigned, behold, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel.   —>   …the rest of the acts of Jeroboam… = Though not recorded here in The Books of the Kings, there are many more things which Jeroboam experienced before he returned Home to Father, and they are recorded in II Chronicles 13:1-20. These acts are the chronicles of war between JeroboamThe House of Israeland Rehoboams son Abijahthe House of Judahfor control of the House of Israelthe ten northern Tribes. Abijah took it upon himself to try and wrest the ten tribes out of Jeroboams control in order to bring the Nation back together under him. Did he consult Father before trying this? No, he certainly did not.

Had Rehoboams son Abijah consulted with Father, Father would have revealed to him, that it was He Who divided the Nation into two separate Nations. He did so because of his own grand-father Solomons abominable actions of allowing his foreign wives and concubines to bring in their false gods and idols; setting up altars to those false gods right there on the Mount of Olives; serving those false gods, and making all Israel to sin by serving those false gods. He could have told him that the People asked his own father Rehoboam to reduce their burden, but his father told them that he was going to place an even greater burden of taxation of construction upon the People. He could have told him that He brought this about through His Prophet Ahijah, that it was He Who chose Jeroboam to be the first king of the divided House of Israelwhile leaving his fathers lineage, including himself to rule over the House of Judahthat Jeroboam did not just take it upon himself to decide to be king. Therefore, he had no business being angry with Jeroboam.

                                               14:20 Jeroboam. Record.
1A20
I Kings 14:20 And the days which Jeroboam reigned were two and twenty years: and he slept with his fathers, and Nadab (liberal; and, liberal) (naw-dawbי) his son reigned in his stead.   —>   Jeroboam reigned over the House of Israel for a total of 22 years. The entire time he did, there were skirmishes and border clashes between the House of Israel and the House of Judah.

As well read in the next ChapterI Kings 15Nadab will only reign for 2 years. His reign begins in the second year of king Asa of the House of Judah, which is also actually the twenty first year of his father Jeroboams reign. The accounting of his 2 years actually doesnt add time on the calendar because, the whole time he reigns, is actually under the last 2 years of his father. We learn when we read II Chronicles 13:20, thatNeither did Jeroboam recover strength again in the days of Abijah: and the LORD struck him, and he diedFathers Word doesnt say what Father struck him with, only that he was stricken with a long suffering disease from which he never recovered. The entire time he was sick, his son Nadab reigned in his stead, and then, both Jeroboam and Nadab died during the same year. It is this accounting of the time of not only Nadab but many of the other kings as well that, when all summed up, cause the erroneous addition of years to where it appears that the reigning of the kings is 100 years longer than it actually was. This erroneous accounting throws off the true historical timeline.

Twenty-two=The number 22 in Biblical numerics denotes disorganization and disintegration (2 X 11=22) and is associated with the worst two reigns: Jeroboam here in I Kings 14:20, and Ahab in I Kings 16:29.
Nadab
Nadab=Nadab was the son of Jeroboam, the first man-king of the Divided House of Israel. Though he mentioned as being a king of the House of Israel, in reality, he was filling in for his fatherwho was still kingwho was suffering from a two year illness. The only thing of Nadab that we read in Fathers Word, was that he continued committing the abominations his father had been committing and causing all Israel to sin. He died in the same year as his father, so he never actually succeeded or ascended to the throne. For the etymology of the name Nadab, we read the following in Abarim Publications: The son and successor of king Jeroboam of Israel (I Kings 14:20). King Nadab was an evil king, who reigned over Israel for two years, until he came to his untimely demise by the hand of Baasha, the son of Ahijah of Issachar, who slew him during the siege of Gibbethon (I Kings 15:27). The name Nadab comes from the verb נדב (nadab), meaning to willingly give, incite or impel: There are quite a few ways to go about the name Nadab. For a meaning of the name Nadab, New Open Bible Study Edition (NOBSE) Study Bible Name List reads Willing, Liberal. Jones Dictionary of Old Testament Proper Names proposes Volunteer, and adds: i.e. willing. Brown Driver Briggs (BDB) Theological Dictionary has Generous, Noble.. Now from the Strongs Concordance where we find that it is Hebrew word number: H5070, - נָדָב, - nâdâb, pronounced - naw-dawbי, and means: From H5068; liberal; Nadab, the name of four Israelites: - Nadab. Total KJV occurrences: 20.. Now from the Smiths Bible Dictionary, where we read: Liberal. King Jeroboams son, who succeeded to the throne of Israel B.C. 954, and reigned two years I Kings 15:25-31. At the siege of Gibbethon a conspiracy broke out in the midst of the army, and the king was slain by Baasha, a man of Issachar..

Beginning with the next verse, we switch and go back to the king of the House of Judah: Rehoboam. Remember, from here to the end of the Flesh Age of man, these two Houses divided and are two separate nations. Father will treat each Nation separately and individually based upon their own actions. So, set your mind now, to accept these two Houses as two different Nations for the rest of this Age and will not be tied in any fashion to each other anymore until Jesus 1,000 year Millennium when the two sticks will be joined back together to form one stick as can be read in Ezekiel 37:16-28.

                                       14:21 Introduction.
1A21
I Kings 14:21 And Rehoboam (a people has enlarged; and, enlarger of the people) (rekh-ab-awmי) the son of Solomon (peaceful; and, peaceful) (shel-o-moי) reigned in Judah (celebrated; and, praised, celebrated) (yeh-hoo-dawי). Rehoboam was forty and one years old when he began to reign, and he reigned seventeen years in Jerusalem (founded peaceful; or, the habitation of peace) (Yer-oo-shaw-lahי-im), the city which the LORD did choose out of all the tribes of Israel, to put His name there. And his mothers name was Naamah (pleasantness; and, loveliness) (nah-am-awי) an Ammonitess (tribal, that is, inbred; and, mountaineers) (am-mo-neeי).   —>   Rehoboam inherited the kingdom from his father Solomon when he died and returned Home to Father. Rehoboam was 41 years old when he took the reins, and he reigned for 17 yearsfrom 880-863B.C.therefore, like his father Solomon, he too died before his sixtieth birthday. We read in II Chronicles 11:17, that in the beginning of his reign over the House of Judah, Rehoboam did well and Honored, Served, and Worshipped Father like his grand-father David had; however, after that third year, he fell away and started doing the abominable worship of false gods and idols.

Rehoboams mother was one of Solomons foreign wives\concubines, she was an Ammonitess; meaning, though she was considered a foreignerbecause she was not a worshipper of Father YHVH, the Ammonites long ago left off from serving, and worshipping Fathershe wasand they werestill of the Adamic seedline. Naamahs name is mentioned here, and in the case of each successive kingcompare with I Kings 15:10; I Kings 22:42; and II Kings 8:26 to list but a fewbecause, the kings character stands in connection with the mother; and because of the position which the queendowageroccupiedagain compare with I Kings 2:19; I Kings 15:13; and Jeremiah 13:18.

Lets examine something else a little closer... David was 70 when he returned Home to Father and Solomon took over the kingdom from him, Solomon was 19 at the time. That means that David hadnt fathered Solomon until he was 51 years old; it also means that Solomon was already messing with the foreign women at least a year prior to his ever becoming king. We know this because, as these verses tell us, Rehoboam was 41 when he began to reign, and we know Solomon reigned for 40 years; so therefore, it shows that Solomon fathered Rehoboam 1 year before he began to reign as king. Therefore, Solomon had already started to turn from Father somewhat before he even became king.
Rehoboam
Rehoboam= Rehoboam was Solomons son who continued the king linenot the genealogical line to Jesus being born in the fleshand inherited the kingdom of the House of Judah from his father. He was 41 years old in 880B.C. when he began his reign, he reigned for 17 years, returning Home to Father at the age of 58 in 863B.C.. Sadly for him however, as was prophesied by Father several years previous; because of Solomons idolatry in the latter part of his years, Father was about to divide the kingdom into 2 separate Nations under Rehoboams tenure as king. See, once he ascended to the throne, the people sent a man named Jeroboam to Rehoboam, to seek relief from the grievously heavy yoke of all the taxation of continuing the appetite for building which his father Solomon had had. In reply, Rehoboam sought the counsel of the elders of Israel who advised him to comply with the request for relief; however, Rehoboam also sought the counsel of his peers. How did they reply? Turn with me to I Kings 12:10 and well read it for ourselves: I Kings 12:10 And the young men that were grown up with him spake unto him, saying, Thus shalt thou speak unto this People that spake unto thee, saying, Thy father made our yoke heavy, but make thou it lighter unto us; thus shalt thou say unto them, My little finger shall be thicker than my fathers loins.   —>   They answer RehoboamJust like the young snobbish and snot-nosed fools they werewith a smart mouthed reply: Rehoboam, you tell them that your little finger shall be thicker than your fathers loins; this brethren, was a common Hebraism of the day which Ill not go into detail to explain; but, suffice it to say, that, they basically told Rehoboam to tell Jeroboam and Israel in unkind words, no. [12:11] And now whereas my father did lade you with a heavy yoke, I will add to your yoke: my father hath chastised you with whips, but I will chastise you with scorpions.    —>   Did you notice in the previous verse that these young juveniles that Rehoboam had turned to for counsel, were all boys he grew up with from infancy? They were all in their early twenties and most were either his brothers, half-brothers or close family, i.e., cousins, yeah; there may be a friend or two amongst them; but, more likely than not, only one or two. For most of them, their granddaddy was king David and their daddy was king Solomon, so, that means that, they had grown up with golden spoons in their mouths, thus they were acting very arrogantly, and hence, their nasty reply. These whips Solomon used, we read of back in I Kings 11, and were what he had his taskmaster Jeroboamthe same man now standing before Rehoboam asking for reliefuse when he was taskmaster over Israel. He used them to get the men to perform to his standards; and now, Rehoboams young counselors tell him to not only continue using the whips; but, to now use a cat-o-nine-tailswhich is a multiple-tailed whip with metal barbs on the endsso that it not only cuts as it hits its intended victim; but, inflicts severe injury by tearing the flesh as well. These whips which Solomon and his son Rehoboam were using was a no-no as; as, our Israelite forefathers were familiar with whips when were in bondage to the Egyptian; as, they were the badge of honor of the Egyptian taskmasters. So, anyway, Jeroboam led the northern tribes to revolt, defect, and separate themselves from Rehoboam and the Tribes of Judah and Benjamin. The House of Israel is divided to this day and will remain so until Jesus Return for His Second Advent. For the etymology of the name Rehoboam, we read the following in Abarim Publications: The name Rehoboam is a compilation of two elements. The first part of the name comes from the verb רחב (rahab), meaning to be wide: The second part of the name Rehoboam is the common noun עם (am), meaning a people. Now from the Strongs Concordance, where we find that it is Hebrew word number: H7346, - רְחַבְעָם, - rechab‛âm, pronounced - rekh-ab-awmי, and means: From H7337 and H5971; a people has enlarged; Rechabam, an Israelite king: - Rehoboam. Total KJV occurrences: 50.. Now from the Smiths Bible Dictionary, where we read: The description of Rehoboam in the Smiths Bible Dictionary is extensive and too long to post here; so, Ill instead, just post the link to it: Rehoboam.

Naamah
Naamah=Naamah was the wife of King Solomon and the mother of their son king Rehoboam. Every time she is mentioned, she is always identified as thenot anAmmonitess. She was a foreigner to the Nation of Israel, in that, she was not a worshipper of Father YHVH; but, with that being said, her being a descendant of Ammon, made her of the Adamic seed-line. For the etymology of the name Naamah, we read the folllowing in Abarim Publications: Naamah is a wife of king Solomon and mother of king Rehoboam (I Kings 14:21). This Naamah was an Ammonite. The name Naamah comes from the verb נעם (naem) meaning be pleasant, sweet, delightful, beautiful: For a meaning of the name Naamah, Jones Dictionary of Old Testament Proper Names reads Pleasant. New Open Bible Study Edition (NOBSE) Study Bible Name List reads Sweet, Pleasant.. Now from the Strongs Concordance, where we find that it is Hebrew word number: H5279, - ַעֲמָה, - na‛ămâh, pronounced - nah-am-awי, and means: Feminine of H5277; pleasantness; Naamah, the name of an antediluvian woman, of an Ammonitess, and of a place in Palestine: - Naamah. Total KJV occurrences: 5.. Now from the Smiths Bible Dictionary where we read: loveliness. Mother of King Rehoboam I Kings 14:21,31, II Chronicles 12:13. In each of these passages she is distinguished by the title the (not an, as in Authorized Version) Ammonite. She was therefore one of the foreign women whom Solomon took into his establishment I Kings 11:1..
Ammonitess
Ammonitess=The Ammonites were descendants of Ammon, as such, an Ammonitess is a female descendant of Ammon. Ammon was the child of Lot and his younger un-named daughter, who along with her older sister, had an incestuous relationship with their father. Both these girls did so immediately following the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah. They feared all the earth was destroyed and incorrectly thought that there were no men left upon the earth and to continue repopulating they had to lay with their father. For the etymology of the name Ammon, we read the folllowing in Abarim Publications: Theres only one Ammon in the Bible, but he is the arch-father of the Ammonites. Ammon is the incestuous son of Lot — the son of Haran and nephew of Abraham and Nahor — and his unnamed daughter. After the destruction of Sodom, where they used to live, the two daughters of Lot are worried that they will remain childless. And so they concoct the plan of boozing up their father and mating with him when he is passed out. The plan works. Without Lot ever realizing what goes on, the older sister becomes pregnant and gives birth to a boy she names Moab. He will be the father of the Moabites. The younger sister becomes pregnant and gives birth to Ben-ammi. He will be the father of the sons of Ammon. The story does not tell how Lot explained to himself the pregnancy of his two daughters without there being any other men around. The name Ammon derives of the verb עמם: The ון upon which the name Ammon ends is a common construction to localize or personify the root. For a meaning of the name Ammon, New Open Bile Study Edition (NOBSE) Study Bible Name List reads A People. Jones Dictionary of Old Testament Proper Names proposes Great People, taking the ון extension as an intensitive. Brown Driver Briggs (BDB) Theological Dictionary doesnt translate the name Ammon, but refers to the noun עם, meaning kinsman.. Now from the Strongs Concordance, where we find that it is Hebrew word number: H5984, - עַמּוֹנִי, - ‛ammônı̂y, pronounced - am-mo-neeי, and means: Patronymic from H5983; Tribal, an Ammonite or (adjectively) Ammonitish: - Ammonite (-s). Total KJV occurrences: 22.. Now from the Smiths Bible Dictionary, where we read: mountaineers. Am'monites, Children of Ammon. A people descended from Ben-ammi, the son of Lot by his younger daughter (Genesis 19:38). Compare Psalms 83:7,8 The Ammonites are frequently mentioned with the Moabites (descendants of Ben-ammis half-brother), and sometimes under the same name. Compare (Judges 10:6; II Chronicles 20:1; Zephaniah 2:8) etc. The precise position of the territory of the Ammonites is not ascertainable. In the earliest mention of them, (Deuteronomy 2:20) they are said to have dwelt in their place, Jabbok being their border (Numbers 21:24; 2:37; 3:16) (i.e. Land or country is, however, but rarely ascribed to them. Their capital city was Rabbath, called also Rabbath Ammon on the Jabbok. We find everywhere traces of the fierce habits of maranders in their incursions.) (I Samuel 11:2; Amos 1:13) and a very high degree of crafty cruelty to their toes (Jeremiah 41:6,7; Judges 17:11,12). Moab was the settled and civilized half of the nation of Lot, and Ammon formed its predatory and Bedouin section. On the west of Jordan they never obtained a footing. The hatred in which the Ammonites were held by Israel is stated to have arisen partly from their denial of assistance, (Deuteronomy 23:4) to the Israelites on their approach to Canaan. But whatever its origin the animosity continued in force to the latest date. The tribe was governed by a king, (Judges 11:12) etc.; (I Samuel 12:12; II Samuel 10:1; Jeremiah 40:14) and by princes. (II Samuel 10:3; I Chronicles 19:3) The divinity of the tribe was Molech [MOLECH], and they were gross idolaters..

1A22
I Kings 14:22 And Judah did evil in the sight of the LORD, and they provoked Him to jealousy with their sins which they had committed, above all that their fathers had done.   —>   The morals of Israelboth Housescontinued to grow from when Solomon began leading Nation down the destructive path. Jeroboam continued leading the House of Israel, and as we see, Solomons son Rehoboam is doing the same with the House of Judah, both Houses completely and totally angering Father. Remember, it all started with Solomon and his building altars for his wives false gods and idols, then Jeroboam fashioned those two golden calves. To put it in plain speak, both Houses were playing kurch and making up new religions as they went along. Pretty much the same as many Christian Denominations do today. Instead of sticking with the True Word of Father YHVH. Today, they celebrate His resurrection, otherwise known as easter, or rapture, or prosperity doctrines and several other non-sense traditions, false teachings and dogma. Father will only put up with it for so long before He puts a stop to it altogether.
1A23
I Kings 14:23 For they also built them high places, and images, and groves, on every high hill, and under every green tree.   —>   Lets tie this all together and fully discuss it, because all three of thesehigh places, images, and grovesare indeed tied together, and they arent to worship Father YHVH. If you think the high places were where our forefathers went to try and get closer to Father YHVH, youd be incorrect in that train of thought too; because, it was where they went to hold their abominable sexual orgies while worshipping their carved and man-made images. What they did was, went out to the forests of trees, then they cut those trees down to stumps, and then they carved phallic symbols out of them, they either stood them upright, or just left them standing when they cut them down to the size they wanted. Then they held their orgies right there in those groves of trees. They made as many of these places as possible. What an abomination to Father!

Groves=Lets check this word out in the Strongs Concordance, when we do, we find that it is Hebrew word number: H842, - אשׁירהss or אשׁרה, - 'ăshêrâh or 'ăshêyrâh, pronounced - ash-ay-rawי or ash-ay-rawי, and means: From H833; happy; asherah (or Astarte) a Phoenician goddess; also an image of the same: - grove. Compare H6253. Total KJV occurrences: 40.. Dr. Bullinger thought it such an important topic, that he devoted an entire Appendix42 to the discussion of it in his Companion Bible.
1A24
I Kings 14:24 And there were also sodomites in the land: and they did according to all the abominations of the nations which the LORD cast out before the children of Israel.   —>   …sodomites…= The word sodomite in the Strongs Concordance is Hebrew word number: H6945, - קדשׁ, - qâdêsh, pronounced - kaw-dasheי, and means: From H6942; a (quasi) sacred person, that is, (technically) a (male) devotee (by prostitution) to licentious idolatry: - sodomite, unclean Total KJV occurrences: 6.. A sodomite was a maleand women toowho was a prostitute and sold themselvesto both other men and with women tooto be used sexually in a worship service, during the worship in the groves, as they were worshipping the asherah.

Today, all over the world the sodomites are coming out of their closets in droves; and the whole world is celebrating them as if their sexual perversion and deviancy is a good thing. Father calls all sodomy an abomination to Him. If you think that you can call yourself a Christian and remain in that filthy practice, or allow and accept that nasty practice in your kurch; then, you are no better than Jeroboam or Rehoboam. It has even been said by one of the major denominations that god is not the authority on homosexuality. This is not a denomination Id want to be associated with! Father showed us in His Word, what He thinks of homosexuality and sodomites when He cleansed the two citiesSodom and Gomorrahof sodomy in Genesis 18 and 19. He cleansed them with fire and brimstone to the point of turning the entire land to salt. Now, this same filth which Father tried to do away with, Jeroboam and Rehoboam are both allowing back into their lands. Again, the word for sodomites as used here, is the Hebrew word for prostitutes, both male and female, male with male, and female with female, and the act is just as filthy today, as it was 3,000 years ago.

I Kings 14:25 (And it came to pass in the fifth year of king Rehoboam, that Shishak (obscure) (shee-shakי) king of Egypt (land of the copts) (mits-rahי-yim) came up against Jerusalem:   —>   Several things to note concerning this verse brethren. First the parenthesis, meaning that, it is an insert, and it continues down to verse V14:28; and secondly, we are now in Rehoboams fifth year of being king over the House of Judah and his is continuing the ways of his father Solomon. So, what does Father do? He sends the Egyptians against Rehoboam and the House of Judah.

Shishak was the founder of the twenty-second dynasty of Egypt. His campaign against Rehoboam is described on the wall of the temple in Karnak, near Thebes. There is also a portrait of Rehoboam there as well.

Shishaks coming against the House of Judah is Fathers doing. He is sending Shishak because of Rehoboams not receiving the message that Judah should turn from their evil ways and back to Him after He called Solomon Home to Him. We can read in II Chronicles 12 that, by Father sending Shishak, He will indeed getat least temporarilyRehoboams attention. Lets turn to II Chronicles 12:1 to read there and get the full description of what actually happened: II Chronicles 12:1 And it came to pass, when Rehoboam had established the kingdom, and had strengthened himself, he forsook the law of the LORD, and all Israel with him.   —>   When Rehoboam had taken over the kingdom from his father Solomon, he immediately picked-up where his father left off, i.e., forsaking Father YHVH and causing all the people in Israelnot just the two tribes of the House of Judah of which he was king overto do the same. How does Father feel about His children forsaking Him? As Rehoboam and we are about to find out, He is going to send Shishak and the Egyptians against Rehoboam and the House of Judah in order to try and get their attention, and ours too, because even to this day, He wants us to know and understand that He doesnt like it! Though Shishak and the Egyptians do not Serve Father; but, serve false gods, Father is still going to use them for His plan to get the House of Judah to turn from their false gods and serve Him. [12:2] And it came to pass, that in the fifth year of king Rehoboam Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem, because they had transgressed against the LORD,   —>   Dr. Bullinger in His Companion Bible, at the Introduction of The Book of Ezekiel, on page 1105, notes in the Table: The year of the Captivity of Jehoiachin; Month; Day; Chapters; and B.C.. The very first line in that Table, denotes that the 5th year of Jehoiachins captivity was in the year 484 B.C.. When we then read Ezekiel 4:1-6, especially verses v4:4-6, we read that Ezekiel was to lay on his side for a specific reason. Lets read it: Ezekiel 4:4 Lie thou also upon thy left side, and lay the iniquity of the house of Israel upon it: according to the number of the days that thou shalt lie upon it thou shalt bear their iniquity. [4:5] For I have laid upon thee the years of their iniquity, according to the number of the days, three hundred and ninety days: so shalt thou bear the iniquity of the house of Israel. [4:6] And when thou hast accomplished them, lie again on thy right side, and thou shalt bear the iniquity of the house of Judah forty days: I have appointed thee each day for a year.   —>   So, with that being said and read, we can then date the event of Ezekiel 4:4-6 as a fixed date in history, i.e., 484B.C.. The 390 days, were to be literal days to Ezekiel, and were to represent 390 literal years. Now, using this date in time from the fifth year of Jehoiakins captivity, the fixed date looking back 390 years to the end of Shishaks invasion would be exactly 874B.C.. As I stated above, there is an inscription by Shishak on the outside of the south wall of the temple of Ammon at Karnac, in which Shishak named the King of Judah, as well as the list of 120 fortified cities which fell to his army. According to Egyptian history, Shishak was the first king of the 22nd dynasty. [12:3] With twelve hundred chariots, and threescore thousand horsemen: and the people were without number that came with him out of Egypt; the Lubims (to thirst, that is, a dry region; and, dwellers in a thirsty land) (loo-beeי), the Sukkiims (hut dwellers; and, booth-dwellers) (sook-keeי), and the Ethiopians (a cushite, the descendants of Ham). —>   Shishak came fully prepared to sack Judah. He brought with him, 1,200 chariots, 60,000 horseman, and foot soldiers which were too numerous to number. The Lubims were peoples from Libya who were loyal to the Egyptians; whereas, the Sukkiims were from the East coast of Africa who were also loyal to Shishak. My how quickly things have changed for Israel! Remember the fame of Solomon and his wisdom? Remember also as well, Israels strength and wealth under Solomon and David before him, was well known throughout all the lands around Israel, and nobody dared try and go up against Israel under their Reign and rule. But, now that they both have returned Home to Father and with Rehoboam now reigning as king, there is no longer any respect for Israels might, and other people are wanting to get their hands on some of the Nations riches. Again, with that being said, I remind you brethren, it is Father who is behind this attack of Shishaks. [12:4] And he took the fenced cities which pertained to Judah, and came to Jerusalem.
—>   Shishak and his military commanders had planned and prepared well. They knew that before, under David and Solomon, they could ever even attempt to sack Jerusalem. They would have first had to wage war against and defeat the perimeter cities; then, once those cities were out of the way, then they pretty much had free reign on Jerusalem. [12:5] Then came Shemaiah (YAH has heard; and, heard by YAH) (shem-aw-yawי-hoo) the prophet to Rehoboam, and to the princes of Judah, that were gathered together to Jerusalem because of Shishak, and said unto them, Thus saith the LORD, Ye have forsaken Me, and therefore have I also left you in the hand of
Shishak.
—>   As He always is, Father was right up front with Rehoboam. He sent one of His prophets to tell and warn him that Shishaks coming against Israel, was His doing. This is one of the messages of The Books of the Chronicles, if you forsake Father, then He most assuredly will likewise also forsake you. Will Rehoboam heed Fathers warning? That is a question yet to be answered; but, yes he will indeed heed Fathers warning to him. These princes are Rehoboams elder sons whom he had dispatched to the perimeter cities with position, wealth and wives, in order that they not raise too much a ruckus when he named and made their younger brother Abijah his successor as king over the House of Judah. [12:6] Whereupon the princes of Israel and the king humbled themselves; and they said, The LORD is righteous.   —>   Message receivedwell received, I might addand taken to heart. Not only did Rehoboam and his sons receive Fathers message, they said that His Word is the absolute truth; therefore, they immediately dropped their righteous attitude, stopped playing kurch and abased themselves, in order to elevate Father back to His rightful position. [12:7] And when the LORD saw that they humbled themselves, the word of the LORD came to Shemaiah (YAH has heard; and, heard of YAH) (shem-aw-yawי-hoo), saying, They have humbled themselves therefore I will not destroy them, but I will grant them some deliverance; and My wrath shall not be poured out upon Jerusalem by the hand of Shishak.   —>   …some deliverance…=Notice, Father said He would only grant Rehoboam some deliverance? Lets check out this word some for in the Strongs Concordance, it is Hebrew word number: 4592, - מְעַטss or מְעָט, - me‛aṭ or me‛ât, pronounced - meh-atי or meh-awtי, and means: From H4591; a little or few (often adverbial or comparative): - almost, (some, very) few (-er, -est), lightly, little (while), (very) small (matter, thing), some, soon, X very. Total KJV occurrences: 101.. In other words, just that, a little. Why only a little? Because, He put them on probation to see if they were sincere in their hearts in their turning from their false gods to Him; or, if they were only saying so in order to stay the hand of Shishak. He was going to remove His hand; but, only slightly. In other words, Shishak is still coming against Judah; however, theyll only remove some of the wealth of Judah, not completely rape, pillage and plunder her. As can be seen by Fathers reaction to their reaction of humbling themselves before Him, He realizes He gotten their attention; so, He in turn, is going to lightenunlike Rehoboam did for Jeroboam and crew, when they asked this of himtheir burden for a short while to see if indeed they are serious concerning humbling themselves, and will now stay that course. Brethren, this is how Father responds and replies to us when we too humble ourselves after sinning, repenting to Him of those sins, and asking His forgiveness. He will indeed lighten our burden; however, we still must pay the price for those sins, and when we willingly do so, then will those sins be forgiven and forgotten. Father and Shemaiah arent finished just yet, Rehoboam is now going to hear of the penalty phase for his and Israels actions. [12:8] Nevertheless they shall be his servants; that they may know My service, and the service of the kingdoms of the countries.   —>   …they shall be his servants…=Rehoboam, his sons, and all of Judah are now going to be servants of Shishak. The King James translators really didnt get this correct in their translation; what Father is trying to show Rehoboam and his sons, is that, if they thought being in service to Father was bad, wait until the see the service that Shishak is going to be putting on them. They are about to learn the hard way, the difference between Fathers service and mans servitude. [12:9] So Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem, and took away the treasures of the house of the LORD, and the treasures of the kings house; he took all: he carried away also the shields of gold which Solomon had made.   —>   The last time anybody laid siege to Jerusalem, was when Father led David and the Israelites against it, and they had captured it and made it part of Israel. Now, Father is leading a heathen Egyptian pharaoh against His People in His city because they have forsaken Him, and He is going to get their attention. Yes, they have humbled themselves and repented; but, like I said, they still must pay the penalty for their sins. Father is not going to let His city fall completely into the hands of Shishak; however, He is going to allow Shishak to carry away some of the wealth He gave to Solomon. Remember, Father is bringing this all to pass, all because Solomon built the high places, started serving his foreign wives false gods and idols, and Rehoboam continued the worship of asherah, right there on the Mount of Olives, right there where Fathers Temple was built and they worshipped Him. [12:10] Instead of which king Rehoboam made shields of brass, and committed them to the hands of the chief of the guard, that kept the entrance of the kings house.   —>   Solomon had made those 300 shields which contained 300 shekels of gold per shield, and now, Shishak is about to carry them back to Egypt with him. In either case, they are no longer in Israels hands; so now, Rehoboamto make it appear they are still strong and wealthyhas had new shields made, though, these are made of copper and not of gold. Rehoboam gave these copper shields to his sons who were over the palatial guards, i.e., the Pelethites and Cherethites. [12:11] And when the king entered into the house of the LORD, the guard came and fetched them, and brought them again into the guard chamber.   —>   Even though the wealth of the Nation has been greatly diminished; either, Rehoboam still enjoys the pomp and circumstance whenever he goes out about the kingdomand especially into Fathers Templeor the Pelethites and Cherethites are still giving due deference to him whenever he goes out and about. For his part though, Rehobom ought to be going to Fathers Temple to seek Him quite frequently. Im not sure why; but, I picture the Swiss Guards at the Vatican when I read this verse. [12:12] And when he humbled himself, the wrath of the LORD turned from him, that He would not destroy him altogether: and also in Judah things went well.   —>   After Rehoboam and Judah did prove themselves that they had indeed wanted to now do righteouslyat least to this pointFather removed His wrath from off them and Judah completely. There was much joy, and many words of congratulations amongst themselves for this turnaround. Likewise also, Rehoboam and the people of Judah praised Father in humility. This things went well in Judah, didnt quite come out right in the translation. It should read that there were still some good things in Judah; meaning, that they still held the City of Jerusalem, Fathers Temple, the Levitical Priesthood, and some other good things. [12:13] So king Rehoboam strengthened himself in Jerusalem, and reigned: for Rehoboam was one and forty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned seventeen years in Jerusalem, the city which the LORD had chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, to put His name there. And his mothers name was Naamah an Ammonitess. [12:14] And he did evil, because he prepared not his heart to seek the LORD. [12:15] Now the acts of Rehoboam, first and last, are they not written in the book of Shemaiah the prophet, and of Iddo (timely; and, lovely) (id-doי) the seer concerning genealogies? And there were wars between Rehoboam and Jeroboam continually.   —>   Rehoboam and the House of Judah continued to have border disputes and skirmishes with Jeroboam and the House of Israel until Rehoboams death; and yes, he actually died prior to Jeroboam, even though he and the House of Judah defeated Jeroboam and the House of Israel. Sadly, it was because of the border disputes between the two Nations, that it was necessary for them each to have strong borders separating them; yet, during this time, some of the people of the ten northern tribes continued to flow southward into Jerusalem in order that that they could continue to worship at Fathers Temple built by Solomon. [12:16] And Rehoboam slept with his fathers, and was buried in the city of David: and Abijah his son reigned in his stead. —>   Rehoboam returned Home to Father, and as he had planned and desired, his younger son, the son of his favorite wife, Maachah, the daughter of Absalom, succeeded him on the throne. Here he is called Abijah; however, in I Kings 14:31 he is called Abijam. They are one in the same, just spelled differently, much in the same way that we sometimes spell some names differently, i.e., Esther and Hester, Elisabeth and Elizabeth, Ellen and Helen, and Catherine and Katherine.

Lets return now to I Kings 14:25.
Shishak
Shishak=Shishak was the king of Egypt who Father used to get the attention of, and subdue king Rehoboam because of his continuing his father Solomons idolatry of serving false gods and idols. Abarim Publications does not give an etymology for the name Shishak. From the Strongs Concordance, we find that the name Shishak is Hebrew word number: H7895, - שִׁישַׁקss or שׁוּשַׁק, - shı̂yshaq or shûshaq, pronounced - shee-shakי or shoo-shakי, and means: Of Egyptian derivation; Shishak, an Egyptian king: - Shishak. Total KJV occurrences: 7.. Now from the Smiths Bible Dictionary, where we read: King of Egypt, the Sheshonk I. of the monuments, first sovereign of the Bubastite twenty-second dynasty. His reign offers the first determined syncronism of Egyptian and hebrew history. The first year of Shishak would about correspond to the 26th of Solomon, and the 20th of shishak to the 5th of Rehoboam. Shishak at the beginning of his reign received the fugitive Jeroboam I Kings 11:40, and it was probably at the instigation of Jeroboam that he attacked Rehoboam. He took the fenced cities which [pertained] to Judah, and came to Jerusalem. he exacted all the treasures of his city from Rehoboam, and apparently made him tributary I Kings 14:25,26; II Chronicles 12:2-9. Shishak has left a record of this expedition sculptured on the wall of the great temple of El-Karnak. It is a list of the countries, cities and tribes conquered or ruled by him, or tributary to him..

1A26
I Kings 14:26 And he took away the treasures of the house of the LORD, and the treasures of the kings house; he even took away all: and he took away all the shields of gold which Solomon had made.   —>   …all…=Shishak removed all the gold that he could find, which both David and Solomon had acquired for Fathers Temple, the kings Palace, and also from the house of the Forrest of Lebanon, and he had it carried back to Egypt. Father will give only us what we can take care of, and it is obvious, that these Jews of the House of Judah, could not take care of Solomons wealth and blessings; therefore, Father allowed it all to be carried away.

As we just read in II Chronicles 12, its recorded there, that after this happened, Rehoboam and all Judah humbled themselves and repented of their evil ways. Father, upon hearing their cries, said that He would not destroy them; but, grant them some deliverance; and He thus caused Shishak to go no further and return to Egypt.

…all the shields…=Some Codices with three printed early editions, and the Vulgate, omit the word all, and thus read …he took away the shields of gold….
1A27
I Kings 14:27 And king Rehoboam made in their stead brasen shields, and committed them unto the hands of the chief of the guard, which kept the door of the kings house.   —>   These were the copper shields which Rehoboam had made to replace the gold ones that Solomon initially had made, which were now carried away by Shishak. Once these replacements were completed, Rehoboam gave them to the Pelethites and Cherethites: the Royal Guards.
1A28
I Kings 14:28 And it was so, when the king went into the house of the LORD, that the guard bare them, and brought them back into the guard chamber.)   —>   As we read above in II Chronicles 12:11, Rehoboam still enjoyed the pomp and circumstance of having his Palatial Guards marching before him when he went about the kingdom. Remember, Rehoboam was of the gold spoon-fed generation; so, this having to now have cooper shields instead of gold, really had to have hurt his pride and psyche. I wonder where these Pelethites and Cherethites were as Shishak and his men were carrying off all the gold? Remember, they were the Royal Guards for a reason.

The old saying, what a difference a day makes comes to mind, as Rehoboam now sees the importance of Fathers things, and he is starting to take care of what he has left. Prior to this happening, he never gave any of the things of Father, nor the gold, a second thought; it wasnt until they were taken from him. However, now that the horse is out of the barn so to speak, and the gold is down in Egypt, Rehoboam is having a change of heart, and is now starting to see the things of Father as having great value. There is nothing new under the sun, as we see the same thing happening in the United States today; the Presidency, the Congress and Senate, certain Law companys, and many of the people try and remove everything which mentions, or gives ode to, Father from the people who desire serve and worship Him. They too, like Rehoboam, will come to realize when its too late, that they should have given Him more due respect, and not turned their collective backs on Him.

                                                        14:29-31 Conclusion.
1A29
I Kings 14:29 Now the rest of the acts of Rehoboam, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?   —>   All the important acts of Rehoboam were written of in The Books of the Kings, and in The Books of the Chronicles, in the Book of Shemaiah the prophet, and also in the Book of Iddo the seer. So, in other words, every important deed he did, was all well documented and recorded.
1A30
I Kings 14:30 And there was war between Rehoboam and Jeroboam all their days.   —>   Ever since Rehoboam had taken over the House of Judah and refused Jeroboam and the House of Israels request to lighten their burden, the two men and Nations have been against each other.

Rehoboam being named first here, indicates that he was the aggressor, contrary to what was written in I Kings 12:22-24, which reads: I Kings 12:22 But the word of God came unto Shemaiah the man of God, saying, [12:23] Speak unto Rehoboam, the son of Solomon, king of Judah, and unto all the house of Judah and Benjamin, and to the remnant of the People, saying, [12:24] Thus saith the LORD, Ye shall not go up, nor fight against your brethren the children of Israel: return every man to his house; for this thing is from Me. They hearkened therefore to the word of the LORD, and returned to depart, according to the word of the LORD.   —>   These two men were at the time, the two kings who were over two separate Nations: the House of Judah and the House of Israel. Brethren, you have to be able to distinguish between the two Nations; or, there is no way that you can ever start to understand the prophecies of our day. Jeroboam and the House of Israel turned from Honoring, serving and Worshipping Father, to serving other false gods and idols; and Father therefore, treated them like they were dung on the street, a stench. The House of Judah was no better, as they too turned to serve other gods; however, only for Davids sake, did Father not throw them away, well, at least not for close to 200 years after He had the Assyrians take the House of Israel into captivity. The House of Judah also began acting like the heathen nations around them, and they both totally displeased Father.

Once split, the two Nations just never could see eye-to-eye, the war that went on between Rehoboam and Jeroboam never claimed any livesexcept one, which Ill explain belowbecause, it never became a physical war; it was all just a war of words and threats. However, the civil war between the two Nations is coming, and that one will sadly, claim many, many lives.

The only life that was lost in the war between Rehoboam and Jeroboam, was when Rehoboam and his tax collectorAdoramwent to Israel in order to try to continue Rehoboams oppression of Israel. The People of the House of Israel stoned Adoram to death, and Rehoboam fled back to Jerusalem. The conflict went on until the Assyrians finally up-rooted Israel and hauled them away into captivity. Some time later, while still in captivity to the Assyarians, the House of Israel splintered into many smaller groups, and then history has it that they went up, over the Caucus Mountains, and scattered all over the world.
1A31
I Kings 14:31 And Rehoboam slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David. And his mothers name was Naamah an Ammonitess. And Abijam (father of (the) sea (that is, seaman); and, worshipper of YAH) (ab-ee-yawmי) his son reigned in his stead.   —>   Rehoboam had taken the reigns from his father Solomon, and now his son, Davids great grandson, will take the reigns as the 4th man king of the House of David, and the second of the House of Judah. Father was keeping His Promise to Davidas He always doesthat his line would always be on the Throne. So, Abijah now reigns and rules over the House of Judah, Will he fare any better than his father? Only time will tell; but, from our perspective of over 3,000 years future to this time, we know that sadly, no, he did not. He had the opportunity to change course and bring the House of Judah to Father. However, like his father and grand-father before him, he continued serving false gods and idols.

What we are learning though, is that there are many important lessons that we can glean by our reading and Studying this Book of Kings, and even though they were written over three thousand years ago, they still just as applicable today. Our Father is the same yesterday as He is Today, and He will be that way throughout all eternity. It is important that we learn the emotions of Father ELOHIM in order for us to be blessed by Him, He requires that we distinguish and understand the things which pleases Him, from those things that do not. It is easier to see what pleases Him by our Studying the Old Testament, than from what is written in the New Testament. It is spelled out there, what He demands from His PeopleHis Childrenand what His feelings are. You have to get to know Him, and this is how we do it; by, studying His Word.
Abijam
Abijam=Abijam, also called Abijah in the II Chronicles 11:22, II Chronicles 12, II Chronicles 13, and II Chronicles 14. Abijam was the son of Rehoboam and Maachah, also called Michaiah in II Chronicles 13:2. He took the throne from his father Rehoboam in the year 863B.C.. Fathers Word does not say in which year he was born, or how old he was when he took over the kingdom of the House of Judah; but, we read in I Kings 15:2 and II Chronicles 13:2, that he only reigned for three years. We also read that he walked not in the ways of David his great grand-father; but, that he did walk in the ways of his grand-father Solomon and his father Rehoboam, meaning that he did evil in Fathers eyes. We further read in I Kings 15 and II Chronicles 13, that he continued the war against Jeroboam and the House of Israel which his father began. He and his army of the House of Judah slew five-hundred thousand men of the House of Israel. For the etymology of the name Abijam, we read the following in Abarim Publications: Abijam is another name of king Abijah of Judah, son of king Rehoboam and Maacah. Hes named Abijah throughout II Chronicles, chapters 11-14 but Abijam in I Kings 15:1-8. The name Abijam consists of two elements. The first element is the word אב ss(יab), meaning father: The second part of the name Abijam looks like it could be the word ים (yam), meaning sea: The name Abijam means Father Of The Sea. Alfred Jones (Dictionary of Old Testament Proper Names) proposes that Abijam was or was named after a sailor. Abijam may also mean Father Of The West, perhaps indicating some regional lord (compare with Benjamin, meaning Son Of The Right Hand, as well as Son Of The South). And note that the form אבים occurs in Ezekiel 3:7, as the second (but implied third) person plural of the verb אבה ss(aba), meaning to want or accede (to be willing). That would give our name the meaning of You Are Willing.. Now from the Strongs Concordance, we find that it is Hebrew word number: H38, - אֲבִיָּם, - 'ăbı̂yâm, pronounced - ab-ee-yawmי, and means: From H1 and H3220; father of (the) sea (that is, seaman); Abijam (or Abijah), a king of Judah: - Abijam. Total KJV occurrences: 5.. Now from the Smiths Bible Dictionary, where we read: my father is YHVH. Son and successor of Rehoboam on the throne of Judah I Kings 4:21; II Chronicles 12:16. He is called ABIJAH in Chronicles, and ABIJAM in Kings. He reigned three years. He endeavored to recover the kingdom of the Ten Tribes, and made war on Jeroboam. He was successful in battle, and took several of the cities of Israel. We are told that he walked in all the sins of Rehoboam I Kings 14:23-24..
