|* Who is Satan
Is he Real?
Let's start with the first question: Who is satan? He is a created entity, just like you and I, created by our Father and Creator — Elohim. Who is ELOHIM? What, you never heard of this Name of our Father? ELOHIM is one of the many designations, names, roles and titles of our Father in His Word. On over 90% of the occasions when we read “God” in Father's Word, it translates to H430 in the Strong's Concordance; which, when we trace it out in the Strong's Concordance we find that it translates to: ELOHIM, the word “ELOHIM” is the plural of “EL,” (or possibly of “ELOAH”) and is the first name for Father given in the Tanakh—or the Torah, i.e., the First five Books of Father's Word: i.e., Genesis; Exodus; Leviticus; Numbers and Deuteronomy—: Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God (ELOHIM) created.... As such, in the traditional Hebrew\Israelite view, ELOHIM is the name of Father as the Creator and Judge of his universe. Dr. Bullinger states in his Companion Bible: “Elohim occurs 2,700 times. Its first occurrence connects it with creation, and gives it its essential meaning as the Creator..” Another name of Father is His Sacred name: YHVH—spelled out in the King James 1611 Bible as “Jehovah”—: In the Tanakh it is His most frequent designation, occurring over 6,800 times. YHVH is the personal name—and therefore is the sacred name–for Father; though, we frequently read it as “LORD.” This is the ineffable or unutterable name of the God of Israel. Because it is composed of the four Hebrew letters Yod, Hey, Vav, Hey, it is also referred to as the “Tetragrammaton,” which simply means: “the four letters.” From Dr. Bullinger's Companion Bible we read: “While Elohim is God as the Creator of all things, Jehovah is the same God in covenant relation to those whom He has created (Cp. II Chron. 18:31). Jehovah means the Eternal, the Immutable One, He Who WAS, and IS, and IS TO COME. The Divine definition is given in Gen. 21:33. He is especially, therefore, the God of Israel; and the God of those who are redeemed, and are thus now "in Christ". We can say "My God," but not "My Jehovah", for Jehovah is "MY God.".”
We were all created in the First Earth Age of time; think of the time before the ice age — that desolate period of time when the earth was in a “state of ruin” or “katabole,”—in the Strong's Concordance it is Greek word number: G2598, - καταβάλλω - katabole, pronounced - kat-ab-al'-lo, and means: to throw down: - cast down, lay.—of which we can read in the New Testament “foundation of the world” (see for one instance Matthew 13:25). Before the “katabole,” though, there was an Age of time when this earth was a beautiful place, yes, the dinosaurs were here as were we; only we were in our SPIRITUAL—natural—Bodies, not as “caveman;” because, there were no caveman; because, Father did NOT create any cavemen, nor did He create any monsters — only man and his imagination did and does. Every one of us was created at the same time, after Father created this earth and the heavens and such, i.e., — Jesus, His Spirit, His Wisdom. We all walked and talked with our Father and lived in cities on this earth, at least at some point we did, because we can read of this in Jeremiah 4:22-28. Notice the hills moved and the cities were broken down. But let's not digress, let's stay focused on who satan is.
As I said, he a created entity. He was created by our Father, in other words, like it or not, believe it or not, satan is one of Father Elohim's Children. Let's go to Ezekiel 28 and allow Father to describe him to us:
Ezekiel 28:12 “Son of man, take up a lamentation upon the king of Tyrus, (don’t let the name fool you here for as we’ll see, Father IS talking about satan) and say unto him, ‘Thus saith the Lord GOD; ‘Thou sealest up the sum, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty. —> How was satan created, an ugly monster? No, he was beautiful. Not only was he beautiful, as we’ll see here in this chapter, he also was an anointed one of God. Because he was so good, Father elevated him to be one of the guardians of His mercy seat.
Ezekiel 28:13 Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created. —> Here is how we know Father is talking about satan “...thou hast been in Eden...” Yes, satan was there in his role of the tree of knowledge of good and evil — not a snake, he was just called a serpent, just as he is called a dragon in the Book of Revelation: Revelation 20:2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years, —> Those are just some of his designations, names, roles, and titles, he has many just as Father has many.
Of thy tabrets and of they pipes=“Tabrets” and “pipes” sounds like something out of a science fiction movie but, Father is using symbology, and symbology ONLY here to describe how He created satan very beautiful. Here, He uses musical instruments and the decorations thereof to try and show us how beautiful satan really was\is. It is because of hollyweird and THEIR description of satan, that man has such a hard time believing Eve could be seduced by something so heinous. When we look at the reality of his being either the most, or the second most beautiful of all of Father’s created beings, we can begin to see how and why Eve fell to the temptation of being seduced by him in Genesis 3.
Ezekiel 28:14 Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire. —> He was the “anointed cherub that covereth;” meaning, he protected Father’s mercy seat. This was not a position for just anybody, it was an elevated position in Father’s Kingdom Government, and he had worked his way up to that position.
Ezekiel 28:15 Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee. —> Father says He created him perfect, “the full pattern” and Father gave him much responsibility UNTIL moral evil, perverseness, unrighteousness and wickedness was found in him; meaning, when he became so puffed up with conceit because of Father's elevating him to the position of protector of Father's mercy seat, he changed and he no longer wanted to protect that seat; but, instead wanted to SIT in that seat and the only way to do that would be to remove Father and thereby take over FROM Him. He—satan—decided he would overthrow Father and he enlisted the help of—as we read in Revelation 12:1-4—one third of Father's children in this overthrow.
Let's see how else we can prove he is a very real entity? Consider this:
Job 1:6 Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them. —> Sons of God=These “sons of God” are Father's Children: the angels. Father is in heaven, and His Children are there in heaven also and have come to present themselves to Father,—in other words, to use a sailor term, they came and mustered themselves before Father—and satan joined them there, to also present himself to Father.
Job 1:7 And the LORD said unto Satan, “Whence comest thou?” Then Satan answered the LORD and said, “From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.” —> So, while satan and all the angels were there talking with Father, Father specifically asked satan where he had been.
Now, we don't know—as Father's Word doesn't say—if Father asked satan because He knew satan had been about causing trouble or not. We only know by reading the verse that, Father asked him where he had been. We do know—Father being omnipotent and onmipresent—that, He really needent have asked satan where he had been as; He already knew that he had been going between the dimentions, to and fro the earth.
Job 1:8 And the LORD said unto Satan, “Hast thou considered My servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil?” —> Job was a righteous man who loved Father; and therefore, he forsook any and everything which was evil, and he was raising his sons and daughters to do the same.
Now, a lot of people don't understand why Father is about to do what He is, and that is allowing the tempting of Job by satan. Father—being the heart knower — G2589, - καρδιογνώστης, - kardiognōstēs, pronounced - kar-dee-og-noce'-tace, in the Greek—knew in His heart of hearts that, no matter what satan threw at Job, Job would never fail Father.
Job 1:9 Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, “Doth Job fear God for nought? —> When Father spoke to satan and asked him if he had you seen Job while he was walking about the earth? He further asked satan, “What do you think of My man Job?” Brethren, if Father placed this same request to satan about you, what do you think Father would have to say about you?
Our adversary satan was still standing before Father’s throne in his role of “the accuser,” and every time you sin and fall short, there he is pointing out every one of your missteps to Father, he’ll never allow any of your sins pass unnoticed; however, today, we have the blood of Christ to cover every one of our sins, and Jesus is also there at the right hand of the Father as our advocate, our attorney pretty much telling Father and satan, “I got that.” Our adversary satan is looking for the time you slip up and sin, and then he will come against you with all kinds of charges. We all have weak moments; for, we are all sinners in these flesh bodies, and as long as we are in the flesh, we will be weak and we will occasionally fall short of Father's standards.
So, satan is asking Father, “Does Job reverence You for nothing?” Yeah, satan saw Job, but remember what condition Job was in? He was in a righteous state.
Job 1:10 Hast not Thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side? Thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land. —> Satan further points out to Father—what he thinks he knows to be true—that, the only reason that Job is a righteous man is; because, Father has his loving hedge of protection around Job; and that, should Father remove His hedge from about Job; then, Job would cease to be righteous; and thereby, fall from Father's Grace, and be like every other sinner of Job's day.
Job 1:11 But put forth Thine hand now, and touch all that he hath, and He will curse Thee to Thy face.” —> Here, satan tells Father that, if He'll take away His hedge of protection which surrounds Job and allow him—satan—to have his way with Job, Job would immediately start cursing Father.
So, in other words, according to satan, the only reason Job is a righteous man and loves Father is because of all Father is doing for him. But, see, this is also how satan truly works, notice his deceitfulness here as he tries to get Father to remove His Hedge, he figures that one He does, he'll be able to catch Job off-guard and cause him to think all his problem he'll face will be Father's fault. He'll try to find one little point to find leverage to use against you, he'll test your weakness at your weakest point. How will you fare brethren when he comes against you?
Job 1:12 And the LORD said unto Satan, “Behold, all that he hath is in thy power; only upon himself put not forth thine hand.”
So Satan went forth from the presence of the LORD. —> Father did indeed remove His Hedge of protection from off Job in order to allow satan to test and try Job, and we read in the and we read in the following Chapter that there was a day when again the Sons of God came to present themselves before Father and satan likewise did the same and this time he again started in on Father to remove His Hedge of protection from around Job. Father again consented—for He knew in His heart that Job would not fail Him—and satan went off to test and try Job. Then for the next 35 Chapters we read of Job's “friends” trying to convince Job that he had sinned.
This is how satan works, he is known by many names: accuser, adversary, deceiver, serpent, and the tempter to name but a few. But, here he was trying to tempt Job, let's now turn to the New Testament, and read how he attempts to tempt our Lord and Saviour Jesus in Matthew 4:
Matthew 4:1 Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil. —> Then=Immediately after his baptizing by John in the last verses of the last Chapter Matthew 3:13-17, let’s read it: Matthew 3:13 Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him. [3:14] But John forbad him, saying, “I have need to be baptized of Thee, and comest Thou to me?” [3:15] And Jesus answering said unto him, “Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness.” Then he suffered him. [3:16] And Jesus, when He was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto Him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: [3:17] And lo a voice from heaven, saying, “This is My beloved Son, in Whom I am well pleased.” —> So, now that He has now been baptized and anointed as the Messiah, “the second man”—I Corinthians 15:47—“the last Adam”—I Corinthians 15:45—must be tried like “the first Adam”—I Corinthians 15:45,47—and in the same three ways, see I John 2:16 with which we can compare with Genesis 3:6, and Father's Spirit leads Him out to the wilderness to do so.
Wilderness=The first Adam's trial was in the Garden; whereas, The Messiah's trial was in the wilderness, and His agony was in a garden. Think also and likewise contrast that it was in the wilderness that the Nation\people Israel who were fed manna and disobedient; whereas, Jesus was an hungered and obedient.
Matthew 4:2 And when He had fasted forty days and forty nights, He was afterward an hungered. —> This attempted tempting of Jesus by satan, is different from the one in Luke 4, we know this because, we read in the attempted tempting of Jesus the in Luke 4: Luke 4:1 And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, [4:2] Being forty days tempted of the devil. And in those days he did eat nothing: and when they were ended, he afterward hungered. —> So, we see that the difference in the two Gospels is that, in Luke He is attempted to be tempted while at the same time not eating; whereas, in Matthew 4 He is first an hungered and then attempted to be tempted.
Notice though that satan waited until Jesus' flesh was in a weakened state, having not eaten anything for forty days. This is exactly how he operates, attacking us when we are in our weakest state, he also uses Father's Word as; he knows Father's Word better then even the deepest scholar. He loves to use Father's Word against us and, what he does when he uses it, is twist it just enough to mislead you and at the same time make it of none effect. Sadly, today, in almost every church house in the entire world, the truth from Father's Word is also presented in such a fashion that, oh, it sounds so good; but, in many cases it is twisted to the point that it is a lie. Just think of the story of the Garden of Eden and the first sin, think also of Jesus’ teaching of Nicodemus of being “born again” and “of water” in John 3, and many other such instances of the church misteaching Father’s Word. Christians are placing their eternal life on the words of these deceivers, and in the end, Father will allow them to be turned over to satan in his role of the pretend-to-bep-jesus: antichrist, because they have allowed themselves to be deceived. Watch and learn from the example given here by our Lord Jesus Christ.
Forty=The number Forty in Biblical numerics “has long been universally recognized as an important number, both on account of the frequency of its occurrence, and the uniformity of its association with a period of probation, trial, and chastisement—(not judgment, like the number 9, which stands in connection with the punishment of enemies, but the chastisement of sons, and of a covenant people). It is the product of 5 and 8, and points to the action of grace (5), leading to and ending in revival and renewal (8). This is certainly the case where forty relates to a period of evident probation. But where it relates to enlarged dominion, or to renewed or extended rule, then it does so in virtue of its factors 4 and 10, and in harmony with their signification. There are 15 such periods which appear on the surface of the Scriptures, and which may be thus classified:— Forty Years of Probation by Trial: Israel in the wilderness, Deut 8:2-5; Psa 95:10; Acts 13:18 (the third 40 of Moses' life, 12 years). Israel from the crucifixion to the destruction of Jerusalem. Forty Years of Probation by Prosperity in Deliverance and Rest: under Othniel, Judg 3:11, under Barak, Judg 5:31, under Gideon, Judg 8:28. Forty Years of Probation by Prosperity in Enlarged Dominion: under David, 2 Sam 5:4, under Solomon, 1 Kings 11:42, under Jeroboam II. See 2 Kings 12:17-18, 13:3,5,7,22,25, 14:12-14,23,28, under Jehoash, 2 Kings 12:1, under Joash, 2 Chron 24:1. Forty Years of Probation by Humiliation and Servitude: Israel under the Philistines, Judg 13:1. Israel in the time of Eli, 1 Sam 4:18. Israel under Saul, Acts 13:21. Forty Years of Probation by Waiting: Moses in Egypt, Acts 7:23. Moses in Midian, Acts 7:30. FORTY DAYS There are eight of such great periods on the surface of the Bible: Forty days Moses was in the mount, Exo 24:18; and to receive the Law, Exo 24:18. Forty days Moses was in the mount after the sin of the Golden Calf, Deut 9:18,25. Forty days of the spies, issuing in the penal sentence of the 40 years, Num 13:26, 14:34. Forty days of Elijah in Horeb, 1 Kings 19:8. Forty days of Jonah and Nineveh, Jonah 3:4. Forty days Ezekiel lay on his right side to symbolize the 40 years of Judah's transgression.* Forty days Jesus was tempted of the Devil, Matt 4:2. Forty days Jesus was seen of His disciples, speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God, Acts 1:2. * Thus 40 becomes a number closely connected with Judah, as 390 (Eze 4:5) is the number of separated Israel. The significance of this will be seen (on p. 215), for 40 is a multiple of 8, and 390 is a multiple of 13. It may also be noted that 65 (5x13) is the number of Ephraim, while 70 is specially connected with Jerusalem..”
Matthew 4:3 And when the tempter came to Him, he said, “If Thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.” —> If Thou be=There's a funny thing here if you truly know and understand Father's Word. Like all of us who Father created, satan too was there in the First Earth Age; not, only that, but, he'll never be born of woman; therefore, He knows exactly Who Jesus is — Immanuel, God in the Flesh, The Only Begotten Son of God, — Jesus Christ, and as such, the only reason satan is saying this is to cast doubt into believer's minds.
These stones=Here in Matthew 4 “these stones,” plural; but in the first temptation in Luke 4 it was “this stone,” singular. Thus again, showing it was two different attempted temptations of Jesus by satan.
Matthew 4:4 But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.’” —> It is written=This phrase is uttered 22 times by our Lord. It was an emphatic utterance by Jesus as; He said, “it standeth written.” It is His first ministerial utterance of the phrase, and He says it 3 more times during this attempted temptation by satan. He likewise uttered it 3 times in the first attempted temptation in Luke 4: Luke 4:4,8,19. In His use of it here, He was quoting Deuteronomy 8:3 Deuteronomy 8:3 And He humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that He might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the LORD doth man live. —> Thus Jesus' appeal was not to the Spoken Word; but, to the Written Word. We can also compare what Jesus said here, with what He said in John 17: John 17:8 For I have given unto them the words which Thou gavest Me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came out from Thee, and they have believed that Thou didst send Me.; John 17:14 I have given them Thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.; and again in John 17:17 Sanctify them through Thy truth: Thy word is truth..
But by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the LORD=Did you grasp that? Every word which proceeds out of Father’s mouth. In other words, we must take the Scripture in its entirety, not just keeping and using those parts which we like and agree with, and then throwing out the parts we don’t like or agree with, as is done in many churches today. Our answer to satan, or any of those in satan's service is what is written in Father's Word. This is the first speaking of the teaching of the Scriptures, declaring “It is written,” and we see that, the first teaching is to satan, and not man.
Matthew 4:5 Then the devil taketh Him up into the holy city, and setteth Him on a pinnacle of the temple, —> Pinnacle of the temple=How ironic as; where is it that satan—the abomination of desolation of Daniel 9:27, the man of sin of II Thessalonians 2:3-4—sits just prior to Jesus' return for His Second Advent, and here he is taking The LORD of lords, and KING of kings to?
Our adversary satan is the prince of this Earth Age and Father gave him the authority\leeway to attempt to tempt and deceive man. It is up to man to allow himself to be deceived, the way to stop and or pervert it is by knowing Father’s Word better than satan. That’s a heavy task as; satan is the tree of knowledge of good and evil from the Garden of Eden, he is supernatural, i.e., never having been born in the flesh, and as such, Father didn’t erase his memory like He did us when we were born in the flesh; therefore, the only way to have more\better knowledge of Father’s Word than satan, is by, Studying, Studying, Studying it Verse–by–Verse, Chapter–by–Chapter, and Book–by–Book. Each soul of man must make its own mind up whether he—no gender involved, this means women too—will love and obey Father; or, whether he’ll yield to satan. Satan is the prince of this world and as such, he will offer you whatever it takes to get your soul. Who do you listen to?
Matthew 4:6 And saith unto Him, “If Thou be the Son of God, cast Thyself down: for it is written, ‘He shall give His angels charge concerning Thee: and in their hands they shall bear Thee up, lest at any time Thou dash Thy foot against a stone.’” —> Didn't I tell you satan knows Father's Word extremely well? His problem here is two-fold; first, he is talking to The Word, The LOGOS, as we read in John 1: John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. —> and secondly, he likes to twist it in order to try and trip people up, and he definitely wasn't about to trip up The Word.
He was quoting Psalms 91; so, let's turn there and read what it says: Psalms 91:11 For He shall give His angels charge over thee, To keep thee in all thy ways. [91:12] They shall bear thee up in their hands, Lest thou dash thy foot against a stone. —> So, did you catch the difference? Did you catch what he changed and or left off? He omitted the essential words “...To keep Thee in all Thy ways...,” and he added the words “...at any time...,” and he left off an important verse, verse, v91:13, which reads: Psalms 91:13 Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet. —> As he is the addler, or serpent, I guess he didn't want to remind Jesus that He would indeed be treading upon him, lol.
Matthew 4:7 Jesus said unto him, “It is written again, ‘Thou shalt not tempt the LORD thy God.’”" —> Here is this verse, Jesus now quotes Deuteronomy 6:16 which reads: Deuteronomy 6:16 Ye shall not tempt the LORD your God, as ye tempted Him in Massah. —> Did you note the words that Jesus purposefully omitted? He left off “...as ye tempted Him in Massah.” Jesus was referencing Exodus 17:7—Exodus 17:7 And he called the name of the place Massah, and Meribah, because of the chiding of the children of Israel, and because they tempted the LORD, saying, “Is the LORD among us, or not?—which shows that there in Massah it was to doubt Father YHVH's presence and care, and it is the same here in this verse in Matthew 4.
Matthew 4:8 Again, the devil taketh Him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth Him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; —> Again=This actually reads incorrectly as, it should read, “The devil taketh Him again...,” thus implying that satan had taken Him there before; as, “...it is written again...” in verse v4:7 above.
World=There is a major difference here with this attempted temptation, as compared to the attempted temptation in Luke 4:5 as, here, the word “world” is in the Strong's Concordance, Greek word number: G2889, - κόσμος, - kosmos, pronounced - kos'-mos, and means: Probably from the base of G2865; orderly arrangement, that is, decoration; by implication the world (in a wide or narrow sense, including its inhabitants, literally or figuratively [morally]): - adorning, world.; whereas, in Luke 4:5 it is Greek word number: G3625, - οἰκουμένη, - oikoumenē, pronounced - oy-kou-men'-ay, and means: Feminine participle present passive of G3611 (as noun, by implication of G1093); land, that is, the (terrene part of the) globe; specifically the Roman empire: - earth, world., just the inhabited world.
Matthew 4:9 And saith unto Him, “All these things will I give Thee, if Thou wilt fall down and worship me.” —> The word “if” as used here in this verse is different than the two previous times in verses v4:3 and v4:6 above, where, satan—knowing full well Who Jesus was\is—used the word “if” in order to try and put doubt into our minds as to whether Jesus is truly God in the flesh. Here, again, satan knowing full well that Jesus is indeed God in the flesh and that, he cannot give our Creator anything, is showing us what he desires and has desired since his rise and ascension to the position as one of the two Protectors of Father's Mercy Seat. Father called him out on it in Ezekiel 28 as we read at the beginning of this little Study; he wants all Father's Children to worship him as God, Creator, and Saviour.
Satan's desire to be God and have all of Father's Children worship him as God is what the controversy is all about. Remember, Father Created him a Cherubim, and not only did He create him a cherub; but, He says that he was the anointed cherub. Satan knows this and it is his ego and pride which are inflated to the point that he believes he can deceive all of Father's Children into worshiping him as Creator. He deceived one third in the First Earth Age, he'll get many at the end of this Age when he comes—prior to the True Jesus' Second Advent—in his role of the pretend-to-be-jesus: antichrist, and he'll still have many follow him when he is released from the abyss at the end of Jesus' 1,000 year Millenium as can be read in Revelation 20.
Matthew 4:10 Then saith Jesus unto him, “Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, ‘Thou shalt worship the LORD thy God, and Him only shalt thou serve.’”" —> This verse further proves the two attempted temptations were separate and not the same as; here, Jesus command, “...get thee hence, satan...” signals finality to the attempted temptation; whereas, in the attempted temptation in Luke 4, satan departs of his own accord: Luke 4:13 And when the devil had ended all the temptation, he departed from Him for a season. —> Not only that; but, satan only departed Him for a season.
Get thee hence=Again, he is summarily dismissed, not to return.
Worship the LORD thy God=Jesus quotes Exodus 20:3, Deuteronomy 6:13-14; and 11:1 which read: Exodus 20:3 Thou shalt have no other gods before Me.; Deuteronomy 6:13 Thou shalt fear the LORD thy God, and serve Him, and shalt swear by His name. [6:14] Ye shall not go after other gods, of the gods of the people which are round about you; and Deuteronomy 11:1 Therefore thou shalt love the LORD thy God, and keep his charge, and his statutes, and his judgments, and his commandments, alway..
Only=Alone, as in verse v4:4 above, in Deuteronomy 6:13 where the possession of the earth—Deuteronomy 6:10—depends on loyalty to Father—Deuteronomy 6:12—Who gives it—Deuteronomy 6:10—; and on obedience to Him Deuteronomy 6:17-18.
Matthew 4:11 Then the devil leaveth Him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto Him. —> Angels came=Thus bringing to a close the attempted temptations of Jesus by satan. There was no such ministrations by the angels in the attempted temptation of Luke 4:1-13.
Satan is not what most people think he is as; most people just joke around with sayings like; “the devil made me do it” having absolutely no knowledge what they're saying or talking about, and that is the reason most people say and think what they do; because they have no knowledge concerning our adversary. Satan can't make us do anything, man just likes to make excuses for our own faults and place the blame on anyone, or anywhere, but ourselves. Man goes by what is portrayed in the movies and on TV, where hollyweird portrays him as some ugly monster lurking in the corners and shadows; but, with the help of Father's Word, I'll describe what he looks like in a short while. In the mean time, let's stay focused. He is NOT an entity running around in long-handled red underwear with a pitch fork and pointed tail, nor is he—as some portray—a half man-half goat. Do you know why we have that image of him? It stems from the Egyptians, Greeks and other countries and continents; thousands of years ago, when man was already starting to fall away from Father and turn to other gods and idols. The Egyptians and others were copulating with goats and other animals and walah, “Pan” the half-man half-goat came to be worshipped by the Egyptians and the Israelites while they were in Egypt. We can read about this in Father's Word in Leviticus 17 and Isaiah 13, let's first turn to Leviticus: Leviticus 17:5 To the end that the children of Israel may bring their sacrifices, which they offer in the open field, even that they may bring them unto the LORD, unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, unto the priest, and offer them for peace offerings unto the LORD. [17:6] And the priest shall sprinkle the blood upon the altar of the LORD at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, and burn the fat for a sweet savour unto the LORD. [17:7] And they shall no more offer their sacrifices unto devils, after whom they have gone a whoring. This shall be a statute for ever unto them throughout their generations.” —> No more=Father is showing us that; unbelievably, our forefathers had joined in with the Egyptians in committing this abdominal practice. Devils=First from the Strong’s Concordance, we find that it is Hebrew word number: H8163, - שׂעיר, or שׂער, - śâ‛ı̂yr, śâ‛ir, pronounced - saw-eer', or saw-eer', and means: From H8175; shaggy; as noun, a he goat; by analogy a faun: - devil, goat, hairy, kid, rough, satyr., now from the Smith’s Bible Dictionary: “(sa'tyr or sat'yr ), a sylvan deity or demigod of Greek mythology, represented as a monster, part man and part goat Isaiah 13:21; 34:14. The Hebrew word signifies "hairy" or "rough," and is frequently applied to "he-goats." In the passages cited it probably refers to demons of woods and desert places. Compare: Leviticus 17:7; II Chronicles 11:15.,” and now from Dr. Bullinger’s Companion Bible: “Only here and in II Chronicles 11:15. In Isaiah 13:21 and 34:14 it is rendered “satyrs,” an imaginary demon: half goat, half man. The Septuagint lists this as demons: from the Hebrew root meaning to “shudder.” From this “pan,” came the “satyrs,” “fauns,” and woodland gods of Greece and Rome, and also the “devil,” of Christendom..” See also Isaiah 13: Isaiah 13:19 And Babylon, the glory of kingdoms, the beauty of the Chaldees' excellency, shall be as when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah, [13:20] It shall never be inhabited, neither shall it be dwelt in from generation to generation: neither shall the Arabian pitch tent there; neither shall the shepherds make their fold there; [13:21] But the wild beasts of the desert shall lie there; and their houses shall be full of doleful creatures; and owls shall dwell there, and satyrs shall dance there. [13:22] And the wild beasts of the islands shall cry in their desolate houses, and dragons in their pleasant palaces: and her time is near to come, and her days shall not be prolonged.."
Remember also, satan is, or, wants to be, all gods, idols and things, to all peoples, and, that means he also wants to be our Saviour, which is why he is coming as the “pretend-to-be-jesus: anti-christ;” PRIOR to the true Christ's return. Who will he look like? Our answer to that can be found in Revelation 13: Revelation 13:11 And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a Lamb, and he spake as a dragon. —> He looks like the Lamb of God; but, has the voice of a dragon because, he is the dragon. Don't allow the word “dragon” to fool you though; because, he is not a dragon;—that is just a role and a title he is assuming—but a man in his spiritual body — the same (spiritual) body that Father and the angels are in, the same (spiritual) body we return to when, either we die and go home to Father, or that we return to when Jesus returns for His Second Advent if we are still alive when that takes place.
So what does satan want? Or better stated; Who is the controversy between and When did it start?
The answer to “who the controversy is between,” can be found in Ezekiel 28, Revelation 12 and Genesis 2 and 3, and many other places throughout Father's Word. We'll start in Ezekiel 28, we already covered verses v28:12-15 above; I recommend you go back and review them and then come back to here to continue on and then, we'll pick it up with verse v28:16:
Ezekiel 28:16 By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned:
therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire. —> Father is going to do what? He is going to destroy him because of what he has done. How is Father going to do this? We'll read the answer to that two verses down.
Mountain of God=This Hebrew expression (har ha'ĕlohim) occurs seven times in Father's Word: here in Ezekiel 28:16; Exodus 3:1; 4:27; 18:5; 24:13; I Kings 19:8; and Psalms 68:15. The Massōrah gives these to distinguish it from har YHVH, which also occurs seven times in Father's Word: Genesis 22:14; Numbers 10:33; Psalms 24:3; Isaiah 2:3; 30:29; Micah 4:2; and Zechariah 8:3.
O covering cherub=Cherub can be used only of a supernatural being, overshadowing and protecting “the world that then was” of II Peter 3:6, or the Garden of Eden verse v28:13.
Ezekiel 28:17 Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness:
I will cast thee to the ground, I will lay thee before kings,
that they may behold thee. —> With all of us looking upon him and the other Protector of Father's Mercy Seat, satan's heart was lifted up in self pride. He must have received much praise from Father and us, like we see those pompous, self righteous fools on TV talk shows, sports and movie "stars," and our politicians. Our adversary satan believed his own lies, and his self-righteousness took control of him. Pride, wisdom, and beauty can be the downfall of any person if they don't realize that everything they have is from Father. Father should get all the glory from us in all that we do; and, in all that we have.
Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ is coming back for His Second Advent very shortly, when He does, He will carry out this judgment which Father put on satan. Then the whole world will see him for who and what he is, a fraud and a fake.
Ezekiel 28:18 Thou hast defiled thy sanctuaries by the multitude of thine iniquities, by the iniquity of thy traffick;
therefore will I bring forth a fire from the midst of thee, it shall devour thee,
and I will bring thee to ashes upon the earth
in the sight of all them that behold thee. —> Here is it, here is how Father will destroy him, by His consuming fire—as read in Hebrews 12: Hebrews 12:29 For our God is a consuming fire.—will satan be destroyed! At Jesus' return, satan's his role as “ pretend-to-be-jesus:” anti-christ, is toast! He'll be consumed from within in the sight of all men.
Ezekiel 28:19 All they that know thee among the people shall be astonished at thee: thou shalt be a terror, and never shalt thou be any more.’ ’ ” —> This is Father describing satan, and we see by His statement, the fact that satan was indeed in Eden, the garden of God. What was his role there? It wasn't as a snake, and yes, I know what Father's Word says, i.e., he was a serpent; but, have you ever looked up the word “serpent” in a good Concordance such as the Strong's Concordance? In the Hebrew the word is H5175, - נחשׁ, - nachach, pronounced - naw-khawsh and means: From H5172; a snake from it's hiss,. Let's now look at H5172: H5172, - נחשׁ, - nachach, pronounced - naw-khash, and means: a primitive root; properly to hiss, that is, whisper a (magic) spell; generally to pronosticate:- X certainly, divine, enchanter, (use) X enchantment.. So, we see that, no, satan wasn't a snake “who was hanging out in an apple tree waiting for Eve to show up so he could give her an apple,” he was there as himself, and known as the “tree of knowledge of good and evil” just as Jesus was there as the “Tree of Life.” Why was\is satan known as the “tree of knowledge of good and evil?” Because, he wasn't and never will be born of woman—of woman— unlike Father ELOHIM Who, as we can read in Hebrews 2: Hebrews 2:14 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; —> And when satan was in the Garden, he still had the knowledge of what took place in the First Earth Age of time — his falling away from Father (wanting to BE god) and drawing that third of Father's children away from Him Revelation 12:1-4. He knew to do good; but, chose to do evil. Jesus IS the Tree of Life who also was in the Garden of God, and we can read of His being so in Revelation 2; Revelation 22:2; and Revelation 22:14: Revelation 2:7 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the Paradise of God, Revelation 22:2 In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. and again in Revelation 22:14 Blessed are they that do His commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city..
What actually happened?
We can read in Ezekiel 28 WHO he was\is and what really happened, so let's go there:
Ezekiel 28:1 The word of the LORD came again unto me, saying,
Ezekiel 28:2 “Son of man, say unto the prince of Tyrus (a rock; or rock) (tsore), ‘Thus saith the Lord GOD; ‘Because thine heart is lifted up, and hast said, ‘I am a GOD, I sit in the seat of God, in the midst of the seas;’ yet thou art a man, and not GOD, though thou set thine heart as the heart of God:" —> Father is telling Ezekiel in a vision the story of satan in the Age that was. And He is telling Ezekiel to tell satan the things that Father has in store for him and why.
What happened? satan's heart was so lifted up with pride and ego, that, as we'll see, he decided he no longer wanted to be the protector of God's mercy seat, he wanted to sit in it, and remove God, so that he could then be god.
Lord GOD=In the Hebrew, this is Adonai YHVH. This title is characteristic of the prophesies of Ezekiel, being used 214 times. Ezekiel is still in exile at the time of this writing. He uses this Title in order to remind himself that Father YHVH is still the Sovereign Lord over all the earth; though, Israel at this time is “Lo–ammi” — not My People.
Thine heart=Note the polyptoton by which the word “heart” is repeated in different inflections for emphasis — “thine heart. . .in the heart (midst). . .thine heart. . .the heart.”
GOD=In the Hebrew this is EL.
Of God=This usage is ELOHIM.
Midst=Heart, as in Chapter Ezekiel 27 throughout.
A man and not God (EL)=Note the pleonasm by which the same thing is put two different ways (first the Positive and then the Negative) to emphasize the fact that the “prince” here spoken to (verses v28:2-10) is purely human, and therefore not, “the king” spoken to in verses v28:11-19.
Tyre=First from the Strong’s Concordance, we find that it is Hebrew word number: H6865, - צר, or צור, - tsôr , tsôr, pronounced - tsore, or tsore, and means: The same as H6864; a rock; Tsor, a place in Palestine: - Tyre, Tyrus., and now from the Smith’s Bible Dictionary: Tyre, and now rom the American Tract Society Bible Dictionary: Tyre or Tyrus.
Ezekiel 28:3 Behold, thou art wiser than Daniel; there is no secret that they can hide from thee: —> Notice the colon at the end of this verse, meaning it continues to the next verse.
Father gives credit to Daniel in this verse; of course, Daniel gained all his wisdom from Father; only, he didn't allow himself to become all puffed up on himself because of it.
But notice also that as Father says, satan had more wisdom than even Daniel had.
Ezekiel 28:4 With thy wisdom (given from Father) and with thine understanding thou hast gotten thee riches, and hast gotten gold and silver into thy treasures: —> Another colon, another continuation of the verse.
Remember, Father is addressing satan here, and these riches are not of this Age, in other words, they are not the materialistic we think of today.
Ezekiel 28:5 By thy great wisdom and by thy traffik hast thou increased thy riches, and thine heart is lifted up because of thy riches: —> Continuing still, and we see what satan — the prince of Tyrus is doing: he is becoming prideful and full of himself.
Ezekiel 28:6 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; ‘Because thou hast set thine heart as the heart of God; —> This is what satan wants — to be Father. Remember in Matthew 4and Luke 4, he said to Jesus as he was attempting to temp Him, that he would give all the worlds to Him; IF Jesus would just bow down and worship him. Luke 4:1 And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, —> This is the attempted “temptation” of Jesus. Let me ask you a question: Jesus, Emmanuel—which being interpreted “God with us” according to Matthew 1:23—do you really believe satan can tempt God? The answer is “no, he can not” so really this “temptation” is for our benefit only, to show US how to overcome satan when he comes and tempts us. Pay attention to the number of “and(s) in the following verses: this is called a polysyndeton: and means that, “much more is being done or taking place, than is said.” Luke 4:2 Being forty days tempted of the devil. And in those days he did eat nothing: and when they were ended, he afterward hungered. —> We read in Matthew 4:2 that Jesus fasted for forty days and nights, not that he was tempted for forty days. “Forty” in Biblical Numerics is the number of, or signifies — “probation,” — a trial period. Forty years in the bible denotes a generation, and in that time within our lives is a trial period for these flesh body. Forty years was the time that the Israelites wondered in the wilderness, and that entire generation that had come up, out of Egypt, failed the tests that God set in front of them. So here, Jesus has not eaten for forty days, and the demands of His flesh body of course were screaming for food - sustenance. So, we see that it will require discipline and Jesus taking command over His flesh and the nature to feed His stomach. Notice however, that He did it, another ensample unto us that we too can have command over our flesh bodies. Luke 4:3 And the devil said unto Him, “If thou be the Son of God, command this stone that it be made bread. —> Here, satan is again saying something for “our” benefit, in other words, he is trying to cast doubt in our minds as to the FACT that Jesus is the Son of God. Knowing that Jesus had fasted for those forty days, he—satan—is playing on that, and telling Jesus to turn this stone—Father's creation—to bread. Remember — Jesus IS the Bread of Life. Something else to pay attention to and consider here in this verse: (1) How closely did you read the verse? Did you catch Whom the stone is? What does the verse read?—“. . .command this stone. . .”—if you think satan was talking of a stone on the ground, you didn't do your homework as far as researching, Studying, and translating Father's Word. The word "7ldquo;this" is our clue. So lets follow it out, the word “this” in the Strong's Concordance is Greek word number G5129, - τούτῳ, - toutō, pronounced - too'-to and means: Dative singular masculine or neuter of G3778; to (in, with or by) this (person or thing): - here [-by, -in], him, one, the same, there [-in], this.. So now lets follow G3778, - οὗτος, οὗτοι, αὕτη, or αὕται, - houtos, houtoi, hautē, or hautai, pronounced - hoo'-tos, hoo'-toy, how'-tay, or how'-tahee and means: Including the nominative masculine plural (second form), nominative feminine signular (third form), and the nominate feminine plural, (fourth form). From the article G3588 and G846; the he> (she or it), that is, this or that (often with the article repeated): - he (it was that), hereof, it, she, such as, the same, these, they, this (man, same, woman), which, who.. In other words, satan was telling Jesus to command "he, satan," and we know this from our Study of Ezekiel 28, the Chapter we are Studying now, where he is identified as the “prince of Tyrus” and the “king of Tyrus.” “Tyrus” in the Strong's Concordance, is Hebrew word number H6865, - צר, or צור, - tsôr, or tsôr, pronounced - tsore, tsore, and means: The same as H6864; a rock; Tsor, a place in Palestine: - Tyre, Tyrus.. How does this Tyrus or “rock” have any bearing on us? Lets go to Deuteronomy 32: Deuteronomy 32:4 He is the Rock, His work is perfect: for all His ways are judgment: a GOD of truth and without iniquity, just and right is He. —> Obviously this Rock is our Father, now lets look at Deuteronomy 32:18: Deuteronomy 32:18 Of the Rock That begat thee thou art unmindful, and hast forgotten GOD That formed thee. —> Again, this Rock is our Father; and now lastly, Deuteronomy 32:31: Deuteronomy 32:31 For their rock is not as our Rock, Even our enemies themselves being judges. —> Notice the “Cases” in these verses, especially the last one — Deuteronomy 32:31 “their (lower case) rock is not our (upper case) Rock.” Jesus IS the Rock of our foundation, satan is the “want to be” rock. Something else that you might have missed is, satan's misquoting of Father's Word, just like he did in Genesis 3, while Jesus —The Logos, — The Word—corrected satan, properly and correctly stating and quoting Father's Word. This is WHY it is important to pay attention when we Study Father's Word, in order that we DON'T MISS something important. Luke 4:4 And Jesus answered him, saying, “It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.” —> By physical bread—food—no, man cannot live, nor does he have “Life.” BUT, with the Bread of Life, that is to say—Jesus Christ— John 6:35 and John 6:51, Who is also The Word — John 1:1, we can have Life — Eternal Life with Father. This also shows us how we are to receive Father's Word — “. . .By every Word of God. . .” — not every word of man. We can also read of this in Joshua 11: Joshua 11:15 As the LORD commanded Moses his servant, so did Moses command Joshua, and so did Joshua; he left nothing undone of all that the LORD commanded Moses. —> The Words which Father gave to Moses and were translated to Joshua, not one word of Father's commands were changed. They were followed to the letter, and that is how our actions and Studying of Father's Word should be, following to the letter that Father has given to us in His Word. Luke 4:5 And the devil, taking Him up into an high mountain, shewed unto Him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. —> Jesus allowed satan, he in his corruptible body and Christ in His transfigured body, to lead Him and show Jesus all the kingdoms of all the Ages, not just of the Flesh Age. The world=In the Greek, this word “world” as used here is G3625, - οἰκουμένη, oikoumene, pronounced - oy-kou-men'-ay, and means: the world as inhabited.. From Dr. Bullinger: It is from the verb oikeo = to dwell. It is used of the habitable world, as distinct from the kosmos (the world as created). Hence it is used in a more limited and special sense of the Roman Empire, which was then predominant. See Luke 2:1; 4:5; 21:26. It is sometimes put by the Fig. Metonymy (of the Adjunct), Ap. 6, for the inhabitants (Acts 17:6,31; Heb. 2:5,6, &c).. Luke 4:6 And the devil said unto Him, “All this power will I give Thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it. —> What does satan do?—said with incredulousness—He thinks he can give anything to Jesus, we will see Who has What power as we continue reading; but, notice, it was given to satan, he couldn't take it. So, Who gave it to him in the first place? Father did, and Father and Jesus are one John 1:1 and also John 14:9 reads: John 14:9 Jesus saith unto him, “Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known Me, Philip? he that hath seen Me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, ‘Shew us the Father?’. Luke 4:7 If Thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be Thine.” —> Here is why we are here: “if Thou therefore wilt worship me, all this shall be Thine” Again, Father — Jesus, gave it to satan to begin with, and He can take it away anytime He wants; so, really it is NOT satan's to give. But, here is what satan wants — all the world to worship him as god. But again, ALL THIS IS DONE FOR OUR BENEFIT, as Paul would say it, as an ensample unto us. What does Jesus do and or say to satan in reply? Luke 4:8 And Jesus answered and said unto him, “Get thee behind Me, Satan: for it is written, ‘Thou shalt worship the LORD thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.’” —> Jesus commanded satan to “get thee behind Me, satan.” And that is WHY he is until this day — behind the throne of God, being held UNTIL he is allowed to make war along with his angels against Michael the archangel and his angels. What is written that Jesus is commanding satan? We can read of it in Deuteronomy 6: Deuteronomy 6:13 Thou shalt fear the LORD thy God, and serve Him, and shalt swear by His name. —> This instruction for our worship of Father continues down through the nineteenth verse. Go back and read all of this passage in Deuteronomy and pay attention to the subject and object being referred to. Father, and only Father, is Who we worship; because, all Blessings and our Salvation comes from Him. Yes, satan wants us to worship him; but, satan is going into the Lake of Fire and he wants your company. Likewise, as Jesus had the power over satan, we too have that same power IN JESUS NAME. He gave it to us in this very Book of Luke: and we can read of it in Luke 10:17 And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, “Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name.” —> These are the apostles whom Jesus sent out to go and teach the surrounding towns and peoples. They don't have the power; BUT, “...through thy name...” ONLY in Jesus name do we have power over ALL our enemies. Luke 10:18 And he said unto them, “I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven. —> This is future, not at the time Jesus was walking in the Flesh, and it is still future to us yet too; though, not too much longer. Luke 10:19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents (even on our adversary himself: — that old serpent, called the devil and satan) and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. —> Only Jesus “in His name” can give us the power needed to have the victory over our enemies. Luke 10:20 Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven. —> Don't get the "big head" over having this power over our enemies that Jesus has given you; rather, as He says here, be Thankful that He thought so much of you that Your name is written in the Book of Life which Father has in heaven. Luke 4:9 And he brought Him to Jerusalem, and set Him on a pinnacle of the temple, and said unto Him, “If Thou be the Son of God, cast Thyself down from hence: —> satan brings Jesus to the temple, to the top corner, the highest point. Of course satan knows Who Jesus is — God in the Flesh, the only Begotten Son of the Living God; but, yet, said again in order to cast seeds of doubt in our minds, he questions “if thou be.” What about you, did his casting those seeds of doubt sway you into believing Christ is not the Son of God? Luke 4:10 For it is written, ‘He shall give His angels charge over thee, to keep thee: —> Here we go again with satan twisting Father's Word to fit what he wants it to say. Did I tell you to Study and pay attention to what you read? Did you catch what he twisted? Are you savvy enough to stay aware of, and ahead of satan and his twisting of Father's Word? This is what he does best, misquoting and twisting Father's Word, and taking things out of context. Sadly, there are very few Christians who can catch satan in his lies. One thing that you can always count on though, and that is when he or one of his children quote Scripture, it will be twisted a bit. When a person is biblically illiterate, they just will not know the truth from a lie. So before you come to rely on a quotation, know who is quoting it, and discern for yourself if it is true or not. What satan has just said is an outright lie. He was quoting from Psalms 91:11-12 which reads: Psalms 91:11 For He shall give His angels charge over thee, To keep thee in all thy ways. [91:12] They shall bear thee up in their hands, Lest thou dash thy foot against a stone. —> Sure, satan's quote might look like it is a correct quote from the start; but, take a closer look — be wiser than the serpent. Luke 4:11 And in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.’” —> Again I ask, did you catch the twisting and changing of Father's Word? It was right above, compare them. Did you catch the addition of “. . .at any time. . .?” and the restructuring “. . .they shall bear thee up. . .” — to — “...And in their hands...” Though, "slight" it is changing no matter how you slice it, and you have to be aware and knowledgeable of it. WHY, if you miss it here — satan's twisting, changing, — will you be knowledgeable enough to catch it when sitting in “a house of God?” Will you be able to catch the change when it comes out of a preacher's mouth. And again, here is the word “stone” or “rock.” Will you dash your foot because of lack of knowledge? Luke 4:12 And Jesus answering said unto him, “It is said, ‘Thou shalt not tempt the LORD thy God. —> Did you hear how Jesus shows us how to answer any one who tries to deceive us. He again quotes Deuteronomy 6 Deuteronomy 6:16 Ye shall not tempt the LORD your God, as ye tempted Him in Massah. —> Don't tempt Father YHVH; for, your stupidity and lack of common sense could get you in a lot of trouble. What happened in Massah? Exodus 17:7 And he called the name of the place Massah, and Meribah, because of the chiding of the children of Israel, and because they tempted the LORD, saying, “Is the LORD among us, or not? —> What were they chiding Father and Moses about? They were yet again whining about wanting water. It was here that Father told Moses to “speak to the Rock;” but, Moses' anger was hot because of the chiding and, he instead spoke to the Israelites and STRUCK the Rock. It was for this reason that Moses was NOT able to enter into the Promised Land. Luke 4:13 And when the devil had ended all the temptation, he departed from Him for a season. —> And he is behind the Throne of God until this day. Why did satan leave Jesus? Because, as we can read in Matthew 4: Matthew 4:10 Then saith Jesus unto him, “Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, ‘Thou shalt worship the LORD thy God, and Him only shalt thou serve.’”.
Lets return now—from that extensive little long side-Study—to where we left off, in the Book of Ezekiel, we were at Ezekiel 28:6, and I'll read it again: Ezekiel 28:6 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; ‘Because thou hast set thine heart as the heart of God; —> Sadly, just about every preacher out there teaches that satan is an ugly monster—portrayed and assisted along by big hollyweird—who is out to kill people. Question for you: If he were to kill everybody, who would he have to worship him as god? The answer is of course — NOBODY.
Ezekiel 28:7 Behold, therefore I will bring strangers upon thee, the terrible of the nations: and they shall draw their swords against the beauty of thy wisdom, and they shall defile thy brightness. —> This is prophesy against satan, and Father is saying that He will send strangers from all the nations — His Elect who know the Truth in His Word, and they will wield their swords — Christ's two edged sword of the Truth, who'll make that stand against satan and his system, and allow Father's Holy Spirit to speak through their mouths as we can read in Mark 13: Mark 13:9 But take heed to yourselves: for they shall deliver you up to councils; and in the synagogues ye shall be beaten: and ye shall be brought before rulers and kings for My sake, for a testimony against them. —> Father's Elect will be delivered up to satan, when he is here in his role of the pretend-to-be-Jesus: anti-christ, so that he—satan, pretending to be Jesus—can try and convince as many as he can, that he really is jesus; however, he is NOT Jesus, II Thessalonians 2 gives us a superb description of satan coming in his role of the pretend-to-be-jesus. Again, what is going to happen? Father's Elect will be delivered up to councils and satan's synagogues for Jesus’ names sake. Fear not; for, this is our purpose, to take this stand for Father as we'll see in the next two verses; also, Father will take care of us! Want a superb example? Go read about Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-Nego in Daniel 3. Are they going to physically beat us? No; however, they will “browbeat” us because of the testimony we speak. Again, fear not, for Father will protect us. Do you know that if Father has given you the truth in His Word—opened your Spiritual eyes and ears—and you speak that truth, you then teach against the majority of what the churches teach today. And for this they will deliver you up to their councils, so that they can grill you, over what you teach. They—the churches and councils of today—teach what has been taught and passed down from the time before the captivity of Israel by the Babylonians. When they came out of that captivity, as Ezra and Nehemiah were taking a census of who was who, they found that the priesthood didn't even contain one true Levite because the priesthood had been completely taken over by the nethinims—those given to service—as can be read in Ezra 8:15. So therefore, the traditions of man based upon the law—as the pharisees and sadducees wanted it to be—was being taught by false teachers\preachers. Oh sure after this census, Ezra and Nehemiah restored the priesthood to the Levites but (1) they were still teaching the traditions of man; and (2) how long do you think the true Levites stayed in control of the priesthood? Like before, they became lazy and again allowed nethinims to take over and that is who was in charge of the priesthood during Jesus' time. He identified them and pointed them out for who they were in John 8 and many other places. Don't forget also, this will be during the time of the tribulation and satan — in his role as “ instead of jesus,” and his angels will be here and some—Father's Elect—will have to be delivered up before him and his councils, remember he is pretending to be Jesus and what Father has given you presently that you speak now, satan, as Jesus, will be telling you and all the world that you are lying because you'll be saying he is satan, not Jesus, and he'll be saying look at me I am Jesus. But again, as Jesus is telling us here in this and the next two verses, don't even think of what you'll reply, because Father will provide His answer through His Holy Spirit. 13:10 And the gospel must first be published among all nations. —> Many preachers, churches, denominations, seminaries, and Christians teach and think that they have to have missionaries who go on missions because of this verse,—i.e., to make sure the Word is published in all nations—but, sadly because of their “one verse” doctrines, they take the Word out of context. The reality is, that, The Gospel—Father's Word, His True Word—will be published when His Elect are delivered up as these three verses are explaining to us. What is Father's Holy Spirit going to be saying? Several things, one will be the True Gospel—exposing satan and his children (those who crucified Him) for who they truly are,—which the two churches—Smyrna and Philadelphia (the only two with which Jesus was/is pleased with)—in Revelation 2:9 and 3:9 were teaching, this is important because this is what the people must come to know, and that is why it will be made public among all nations. Let's find out what they were teaching: Revelation 2:8 And unto the angel of the church in Smyrna write; 'These things saith the First and the Last, Which was dead and is alive; [2:9] I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty (but thou art rich), and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are of the synagogue of Satan. —> Now in: Revelation 3:7 And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write; ' These things saith He That is Holy, He That is True, He That hath the key of David, He That openeth, and no man shutteth, and shutteth, and no man openeth; [3:8] I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept My Word, and hast not denied My name. [3:9] Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, but do lie; behold, I will make them come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee. —> This key of David is important because, it is what opens your mind to the Truth in Father's Word and when that Truth is opened and revealed by Jesus, no man will ever be able to seal it back up, it also exposes the mind to what really took place in the garden of Eden between satan and Eve. Satan—the tree of knowledge of good and evil and NOT a snake—wholly—mind and body—seduced Eve into laying with him in order to try and interrupt the seedline through which He, —Immanuel — God with us—Jesus, would come in the flesh. If satan could interrupt that seedline, he could have defeated Father YHVH. It was his offspring with Eve many years later which crucified Jesus not the Jews—Judah, Hebrews—as is still taught today. It was his offspring with Eve which took over the scribing of Father's Word to try and change it as can be read in I Chronicles 2:55, it was also his offspring which took over the priesthood while the Israelites were in captivity to the Babylonians and were found out in Ezra 8:15. The other thing that Father's Holy Spirit will be saying through His elect and must be published among all nations is what comes in the next verse. Mark 13:11 But when they shall lead you, and deliver you up, take no thought beforehand what ye shall speak, neither do ye premeditate: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye: for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Ghost. —> Rejoice!!! Here, our purpose is clearly defined. To make that stand (as we are delivered up as verse 13:9 tells us) against satan and his angels (and yes this will be published among all nations as verse 13:10 tells us) and allow Father's Holy Spirit to speak through us. What will Father’s Holy Spirit speaking through our mouths? This can be read in Acts 2:6-8 and Joel 2. We'll begin with our example in Acts 2:1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. [2:2] And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting [2:3] And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. —> Notice our word “ cloven tongues” in this verse? In the Strong’s Concordance, this is Greek word number: G1266, - διαμερίζω, - diamerizō, pronounced - dee-am-er-id'-zo, and means: From G1223 and G3307; to partition thoroughly (literally in distribution, figuratively in dissension): - cloven, divide, part.. In other words through partitioning, it can—as we'll see in the next few verses—be understood by all within earshot. [2:4] And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. —> What happened here? Father's Holy Spirit entered into them and they began to speak that which Father wanted them to speak. What is “ tongues?” In the Strong's Concordance, it is Greek word G1100, - γλῶσσα, - glōssa, pronounced - gloce'-sah, and means: Of uncertain affinity; the tongue; by implication a language (specifically one naturally unaccquired): - tongue.. So, tongues is a language (Hebrew, English, French, Spanish, German, Greek etc.) that is spoken by a person who attains that language without ever having studied that language. The word “utterance” here in this verse in the Strong's Concordance it is Greek word number: G669, - ἀποφθέγγομαι, - apophtheggomai, pronounced - ap-of-theng'-om-ahee, and means: From G575 and G5350; to enunciate plainly, that is, declare: - say, speak forth, utterance., in other words, someone who is uttering in tongues is speaking plainly in a language that was naturally unacquired, not some unknown (only a language God and His angels speak). [2:5] And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, (these are those that are identified as such because of where they live and are not of the house (tribe) of Judah) devout men, out of every nation under heaven. [2:6] Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language. —> See, that wasn't hard, it was rather self-explanatory. [2:7] And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, “Behold, are not all these which speak Galileans? [2:8] And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born? [2:9] Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, and Judea, and Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia, [2:10] Phrygia, and Pamphylia, in Egypt, and in the parts of Libya, about Cyrene, and strangers of Rome, Jews and proselytes. [2:11] Cretes, and Arabians, we do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God.” —> So each of these of every nation heard the apostles speak in their own language even down to their own county and city in which they were born. It wasn't an unknown tongue and it wasn't babbling. What exactly were they speaking? Let's continue listening to Peter right in the Book and Chapter we're in Acts 2:16 But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel: [2:17] ‘And it shall come to pass in the last days,’ saith God, ‘I will pour out My Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams: —> When did Peter say this would come to pass? In the last days. Well let me tell you, those days are upon us right now, we are in the final generation of this life in the flesh. [2:18] And on My servants and on My handmaidens I will pour out in those days of My Spirit: and they shall prophesy: [2:19] And I will shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke: —> Are you scared yet? You shouldn't be, unless you don't know Father [2:20] The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and notable day of the LORD come: [2:21] And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be saved.’ —> So just what was Joel meaning? Let's go there and find out. Joel 2: Joel 2:28 And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out My Spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions: —> Come to pass after what? Joel was prophesying that in the final days, the last generation of this earth age, the alarm was to be sounded, the trumpet blown signifying the end was near and the Day of The LORD was nigh at hand. How would we know we are in those final days? Father set benchmarks, signs so that those of His would know. The sign that the final generation started was the establishing of Israel as a nation in 1948. How do we know that? First Jesus tells us in Matthew 24:32, Mark 13:28 and Luke 21:29 that we must learn the parable of the fig tree. What is the parable of the fig tree? That is the setting out of the two baskets of figs that can be read about in Jeremiah 24. Those baskets were set in 1948, signifying the start of the final generation. How long is a generation? Either 40, 70 or 120 years, but in reality, it can be any time in between those as well. So the alarm is being sounded and the trumpet blown, meaning Father's Elect—both sons and daughters—have started prophesying that the end is close at hand for we are 62 years into this final generation and time is getting short. What are the two different figs in Jeremiah 24? Well first of all we have to remember who is in Jerusalem at this time and that is what this is about. The good figs are the three tribes of the house of Judah: Judah, Benjamin and part of the tribe of Levi. Why only three tribes? Because in I Kings 11 Father told Solomon that He was going to split and divide the twelve tribes of Israel when Solomon died. How were they split? Reuben, part of Levi, Zebulun, Issachar, Dan, Gad, Asher, Naphtali, Joseph (Manasseh and Ephraim) would continue to be called the “House of Israel” while Judah, part of Levi and Benjamin would now be known as the House of Judah. It is these three tribes which comprise Israel—the country—today mixed in with the naughty figs, who are the naughty figs? The naughty figs are the kenites, those that claim to be Jews but do lie and are of the synagogue of satan. It is those which mixed in with the House of Judah 400 years before Christ was born, after the numbering of by Ezra and Nehemiah and are there to this day. So many times in the New Testament when we read the word "Jews," the writer is really talking about someone that is identified as such because of the location from which they were born or where they were living. The two houses, Israel and Judah, will not be brought back together until the LORD'S Day, the first day of the Millennium, as is recorded in Ezekiel 37. Joel 2:29 And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out My Spirit. —> Do you see these signs Jesus said would come when He was asked by His disciples when shall these things be and what shall be the signs of His—second—coming in Matthew 24, Mark 13 and Luke 21? Wars and rumors of wars, earthquakes in diverse places, apostasy—lack of Father's Word being taught Verse–by–Verse, Chapter–by–Chapter, and Book–by–Book as prophesied in Amos 8:11—running rampant, morals being flushed down the toilet on a daily basis. Yes, we are there, make no mistake about it. Our adversary satan in his role as the pretend-to-be-jesus: anti-christ, and his locust army will be kicked out of heaven shortly, are you ready for that time? [2:30] And I will shew wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke. —> What are all these, are they cause for concern? No, so don't allow the hell-fire and brimstone pastors to deceive you into believing satan is going to destroy this earth with blood up to the horse's bridles. Remember, satan wants people to worship him and for them to believe that he is Christ, he'll be coming in saying “peace, peace.” Also, Father is not going to allow His earth to be destroyed by nuclear holocaust, Jesus is coming here to establish His kingdom and He will not be coming to a place that is void and desolate. When He does come though, all the evil elements, shall be burned up as Peter says in II Peter 3:10 But the day of the LORD will come as a thief in the night, in the which the heavens shall pass away with great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. —> What will actually take place on that day, the day He returns? The elements that shall be burned up are not the elements which make up this earth; rather, we again must look at our word “elements;” for, as it is used here, in the Strong's Concordance, it is Greek word number: G4747, - στοιχεῖον, - stoicheion, pronounced - stoy-khi'-on, and means: Neuter of a presumed derivative of the base of G4748; something orderly in arrangement, that is, (by implication) a serial (basal, fundamental, initial) constituent (literally), proposition (figuratively): element, principle, rudiment.. So, in other words, all the evil things that are on this earth will be destroyed, not the elements and/or the earth itself, just all the things that cause offense, the things that Father will not allow to pollute His coming kingdom. [2:31] The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD come. —> Prior to Jesus' return, satan will lose all the evil spirits that are being held in the bottomless pit and when they are loosed, yeah, the sun will appear to be darkened and the moon into blood. Now, think about this for a moment, the brightness of Jesus' coming will cause the sun to appear to be dark and at His coming we all change back into our spiritual bodies. So now, put away your fleshly thinking and don't be afraid which is the reason so many Christians want to fly away in their rapture, they just cannot get past thinking in the flesh and have this fear ingrained into them.
Ezekiel 28:8 They shall bring thee down to the pit, and thou shalt die the deaths of them that are slain (spiritual body death—otherwise known as the second death — the death of the soul—) in the midst of the seas. —> After Father's Holy Spirit speaks and reveals satan for who he is, he and his cronies will not look so appealing any longer, all those Christians that sat in their pews being taught falsely and the traditions of man are going to be so ashamed of themselves, they'll be praying for mountains to fall upon them for their shame.
In the midst of the seas=Father translates the word “water” for us in Revelation 17:15, and we learn that water is people.
Ezekiel 28:9 Wilt thou yet say before Him That slayeth thee, ‘I am God?’ but thou shalt be a man, and no GOD, in the hand of Him That slayeth thee. —> The only one in Father's Word who is already named to die the second death — the death of the soul — is satan — the son of perdition. Yes, the fallen angels — the nephilim, are also going to die immediately at Jesus' Second Advent; but, they are not named.
Ezekiel 28:10 Thou shalt die the deaths of the uncircumcised by the hand of strangers: for I have spoken it, saith the Lord GOD,’ ” —> Pretty straight and forward.
What else did he do? We look to several places to find our answer to this question. Unless you understand what happened between Genesis 1:1 and Genesis 1:2 you will never understand when and all that has happened. In Genesis 1:1 Father created all things: heaven, earth, all the stars and planets, all souls. You see, there was an age (eon of time) before this age we now live in. We (in our spiritual/ incorruptible/angelic/heavenly bodies- the bodies we long to be back in - the bodies we will return to when either we die or at Christ's return) walked and talked with God. It was the time which man in his stupidity and sottishness calls “pre-historic” time. But, you see, to believe in man's pre-historic “theory” is to believe in man's evolution “theory.” We were on this earth walking with Father and amongst the dinosaurs (not neanderthal man). Things were wonderful then until satan (king of Tyrus, that old serpent, the dragon and a host of other names) fell as we read from Ezekiel 28 above. In his fall, well, let's allow Father to speak it:
Revelation 12:1 And there appeared a great (exceedingly large, huge, enormous wonder an indication, miracle or sign) in heaven; a woman (SYMBOLIC of mother Israel) clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars (representative of the twelve tribes of Israel): —> Who is this? In the flesh it will be the wives of Jacob who Father later changes his name to ISRAEL and these twelve stars are his offspring—children—the twelve tribes of Israel, the patriarchs. In the Age that was, at that time—Billions of years ago—they were the stars, or the children of Father ELOHIM, in their spiritual bodies.
In the First Earth Age we had society just as we have our societies today. There was a government and Father was the head of that Government. Until as we'll see in these next few verses satan — one of Father's Children, rebelled against Him.
Revelation 12:2 And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered. —> Even though Israel is Jacob, here in this verse and in other places as well, they'll be known as Mother Israel, and here, she is getting ready to give birth to her twelve sons — the tribes of Israel.
Revelation 12:3 And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red (fiery, as in passionate) dragon (serpent as in a sly, cunning and artfully malicious person (sound like someone we know from Genesis 3:1-2, 4-5, and 13-16)), having seven heads (signs of satan's seven dominions of universal power in the age that was) and ten horns, (horns are always symbolic of power, satan had ten agencies of power) and seven crowns upon his heads. —> This great red dragon is none other than satan, and he—as we read above in Ezekiel 28—was head of and over some of Father's government — his role was the &ldquoProtecting Cherub.”
Symbolically, this women discussed in this verse is also Mary, the mother of our Lord and Saviour Yeshua. The reason the dragon is there, is because as we'll discover, he wants to destroy this child — Yeshua, or keep Him from being born. Why? So that he then can take the place of Yeshua — Saviour of the World. There are problems with his thoughts on this though: Who is Yeshua? Isaiah 7:14 and Matthew 1:23 tell us that Immanuel in the Hebrew, and Emmanuel in the Greek is, —being interpreted—God with us. Our adversary satan is not Father ELOHIM; he is one of Father's creation and therefore can never replace Father.
Revelation 12:4 And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, (this is referring to satan's first rebellion and those 1/3 of God's children he deceived into believing he could sit in that seat of God and be God. They stopped loving God and loved satan) and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born. —> This is what satan wants, and is and has always been trying to do since the time that he fell away from Father. He wants to prevent this child—Jesus—from being born because, he wants to be this child.
Notice in this verse, it says that the dragon — satan, his tail drew a third part of the stars of heaven. This verse means that satan caused 1/3 of all of Father's children to rebel with him, before this present Flesh Age we are living in. In other words — while all of us were still in our spiritual bodies, right there with Father, walking and talking with Him. How very sad for our wonderful loving Father, to see His children rebel against Him, their Creator — ELOHIM. These children of ELOHIM stopped worshiping and loving Him, and in turn, turned and started to love and worship satan as Father.
Again, who are these stars? They are the spiritual beings, the angels — you and I. We know this because of Genesis 6:2; Job 1:6; and again in Job 2:1. I want you to pay attention brethren because, these three verses all say “the sons of God.” You need to understand this — in the first earth age, we were all masculine — male, hence “ sons of God.” In this present Flesh Age we are both masculine and feminine — in order to bring forth children to fulfill John 3:1-6 “ born from above and through water.” In the Final Age — after the Great White Throne Judgment, after Christ's 1,000 year Millennial reign, we will all be feminine—female—because we will all become the BRIDE of Christ.
Revelation 12:5 And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to His throne. —> Our adversary satan feels that if he can prevent this birth, — the birth of Christ Yeshua, then he can then sit in this child's place to “ rule all nations with this rod of iron.” But again, Yeshua is “ God with us — Immanuel,” He is also the Logos — The Word, so satan can never replace Yeshua — he cannot win this controversy between him and Father ELOHIM; — he cannot win this war — IT IS WRITTEN. But, sadly satan's ego is leading him to believe he can win, that he can change the Word of God.
