How To

                           I Kings 11

I Kings 10 saw dignitaries and heads of state coming to visit Solomon in order to hear him speak his wisdom and see all his wealth, the only one who was mentioned--and not by name--was the Queen of Sheba. This woman had travelled with a large caravan of servants and camels full of gifts she brought to Solomon in order that she too be able to hear him speak all his wisdom. She was so totally impressed that he was able to answer all her questions, and riddles and to also speak his proverbs, that she indeed left all the gifts--i.e. 120 talents of gold, spices and precious stones--she brought with her. For his part, Solomon likewise was enthralled with the Queen of Sheba, so much so, that he bestowed upon her all her desire of gifts, even to the point that, before allowing her to return to her own country, he asked her if she'd like anything else to take back to Sheba with her.

We then read in the remaining chapter of how Israel's wealth grew--because of Father of course--because Solomon was taxing and demanding tribute from all the nations around Israel. We learned that year-by-year the Nation had over 666 talents of gold; so much silver that it became as stones; Sycamore and cedar trees; leather and other fine cloth goods; spices, perfumes and balms, horses and mules coming into Israel.

This was all at the end of the first half of Solomon's reign, when he was still serving and worshipping Father. Sadly, all that is now past history, and beginning here in this chapter I Kings 11, things take that drastic downhill turn for the worst as Solomon will begin to accumulate his wives, princesses and concubines and in the process of doing so will turn and serve their false gods and idols. He even go so far as to build altars for them to go and worship their false gods at. How and where did Solomon meet these foreign women that he took to liking and marrying? Remember all those kings and dignitaries who came to hear his wisdom, well when they came, they brought with them their daughters, and it was these young ladies that Solomon found to his liking. It didn't matter to Solomon what their race, or religious preference was, he took wives from all the nations.

So, now lets see exactly how Solomon changed, and took his eyes from off of Father and His Laws and Commandments as he takes his many wives, I Kings 11:1:

11:1-40 MARRIAGES. (Alternation.)
11:1-8 Sins. Committed.

I Kings 11:1 But king Solomon loved many strange women, together with the daughter of Pharaoh, women of the Moabites, Ammonites, Edomites, Zidonians, and Hittites;   ->   Let's read of this word "strange" from the Strong's Concordance, it is Hebrew word number H5237 - נכרי, - nokrı̂y, pronounced - nok-ree', and means: From H5235 (second form); strange, in a variety of degrees and applications (foreign, non-relative, adulterous, different, wonderful): - alien, foreigner, outlandish, strange (-r, woman)., so, as we see, these women were not strange because of their habits, mannerisms or dress; but, because they were foreigners, or non-Israelitie women. As we read here they were of the Moabites, the Ammonites, the Edomites, the Zidonians and the Hittites.

Remember, in all actuality, all these "strange women" were adamic women as, the Moabites and Ammonites were descended from Lot and his two daughters who had gotten him drunk and lay with him in order to repopulate the earth after Father had rained down upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the LORD out of heaven, the Edomites were descended from Esau, the Zidonians--(Sidon)--and the Hittites--(Heth)--were both descended from Canaan.

Also, note the reference to these "strange women" by Solomon in one of the Books he wrote: the Book of Proverbs, you can red of them in Proverbs 2:165:3,20; 6:24; 7:5; 20:16; 23:27 and 27:13. Note also the three steps in Solomon's fall: wealth, weapons and women, particularly foreign women.

Moabites=The designation of a tribe descended from Moab, the son of Lot Genesis 19:37. From Zoar, the cradle of this tribe, on the south-eastern border of the Dead Sea, they gradually spread over the region on the east of Jordan. Rameses II., the Pharaoh of the Oppression, enumerates Moab (Muab) among his conquests. Shortly before the Exodus, the warlike Amorites crossed the Jordan under Sihon their king and drove the Moabites Numbers 21:26-30 out of the region between the Arnon and the Jabbok, and occupied it, making Heshbon their capital. They were then confined to the territory to the south of the Arnon. On their journey the Israelites did not pass through Moab, but through the "wilderness" to the east Deuteronomy 2:8; Judges 11:18, at length reaching the country to the north of the Arnon. Here they remained for some time till they had conquered Bashan (see SIHON; OG). The Moabites were alarmed, and their king, Balak, sought aid from the Midianites Numbers 22:2-4. It was while they were here that the visit of Balaam (q.v.) to Balak took place. (See MOSES .) After the Conquest, the Moabites maintained hostile relations with the Israelites, and frequently harassed them in war Judges 3:12-30; I Samuel 14. The story of Ruth, however, shows the existence of friendly relations between Moab and Bethlehem. By his descent from Ruth, David may be said to have had Moabite blood in his veins. Yet there was war between David and the Moabites II Samuel 8:2; 23:20; I Chronicles 18:2, from whom he took great spoil II Samuel 8:2,11,12; I Chronicles 11:22; 18:11. During the one hundred and fifty years which followed the defeat of the Moabites, after the death of Ahab (see MESHA), they regained, apparently, much of their former prosperty. At this time Isaiah 15:1 delivered his "burden of Moab," predicting the coming of judgment on that land (Compare II Kings 17:3; 18:9; I Chronicles 5:25,26. Between the time of Isaiah and the commencement of the Babylonian captivity we have very seldom any reference to Moab Jeremiah 25:21; 27:340:11; Zephaniah 2:8-10. After the Return, it was Sanballat, a Moabite, who took chief part in seeking to prevent the rebuilding of Jerusalem Nehemiah 2:19; 4:1; 6:1..

Ammonites=(sons of renown, mountaineers),  Am'monites, Children of Ammon, A people descended from Ben-ammi, the son of Lot by his younger daughter Genesis 19:38, and compare with Psalms 83:7,8. The Ammonites are frequently mentioned with the Moabites (descendants of Ben-ammi's half-brother), and sometimes under the same name. Compare with Judges 10:6; II Chronicles 20:1; Zephaniah 2:8 etc. The precise position of the territory of the Ammonites is not ascertainable. In the earliest mention of them, (2:20) they are said to have dwelt in their place, Jabbok being their border Numbers 21:24; Deuteronomy 2:37; 3:16 (i.e. Land or country is, however, but rarely ascribed to them. Their capital city was Rabbath, called also Rabbath Ammon on the Jabbok. We find everywhere traces of the fierce habits of maranders in their incursions. I Samuel 11:2; Amos 1:13 and a very high degree of crafty cruelty to their toes Jeremiah 41:6,7; Judges 17:11,12. Moab was the settled and civilized half of the nation of Lot, and Ammon formed its predatory and Bedouin section. On the west of Jordan they never obtained a footing. The hatred in which the Ammonites were held by Israel is stated to have arisen partly from their denial of assistance, (23:4) to the Israelites on their approach to Canaan. But whatever its origin the animosity continued in force to the latest date. The tribe was governed by a king Judges 11:12, etc.; I Samuel 12:12; 10:1; Jeremiah 40:14 and by "princes" II Samuel 10:3; I Chronicles 19:3. The divinity of the tribe was Molech [MOLECH ], and they were gross idolaters..

Edomites=The name of Esau (q.v.) Genesis 25:30, "Feed me, I pray thee, with that same red pottage [Heb. haadom, haadom, i.e., 'the red pottage, the red pottage'] ...Therefore was his name called Edom", i.e., Red. Idumea Isaiah 34:5,6; Ezekiel 35:15. "The field of Edom" Genesis 32:3, "the land of Edom" Genesis 36:16, was mountainous Obadiah 1:8,9,21. It was called the land, or "the mountain of Seir," the rough hills on the east side of the Arabah. It extended from the head of the Gulf of Akabah, the Elanitic gulf, to the foot of the Dead Sea I Kings 9:26, and contained, among other cities, the rock-hewn Sela (q.v.), generally known by the Greek name Petra II Kings 14:7. It is a wild and rugged region, traversed by fruitful valleys. Its old capital was Bozrah Isaiah 63:1. The early inhabitants of the land were Horites. They were destroyed by the Edomites Deuteronomy 2:12, between whom and the kings of Israel and Judah there was frequent war II Kings 8:20; II Chronicles 28:17. At the time of the Exodus they churlishly refused permission to the Israelites to pass through their land Numbers 20:14-21, and ever afterwards maintained an attitude of hostility toward them. They were conquered by David II Samuel 8:14; Compare I Kings 9:26, and afterwards by Amaziah II Chronicles 25:11,12. But they regained again their independence, and in later years, during the decline of the Jewish kingdom II Kings 16:6; RSV marg., "Edomites"), made war against Israel. They took part with the Chaldeans when Nebuchadnezzar captured Jerusalem, and afterwards they invaded and held possession of the south of Palestine as far as Hebron. At length, however, Edom fell under the growing Chaldean power Jeremiah 27:3,6. There are many prophecies concerning Edom Isaiah 34:5,6; Jeremiah 49:7-18; Ezekiel 25:13; 35:1-5; Joel 3:19; Amos 1:11; Obadiah; Malachi 1:3,4 which have been remarkably fulfilled. The present desolate condition of that land is a standing testimony to the inspiration of these prophecies. After an existence as a people for above seventeen hundred years, they have utterly disappeared, and their language even is forgotten for ever. In Petra, "where kings kept their court, and where nobles assembled, there no man dwells; it is given by lot to birds, and beasts, and reptiles." The Edomites were Semites, closely related in blood and in language to the Israelites. They dispossessed the Horites of Mount Seir; though it is clear, from Genesis 36, that they afterwards intermarried with the conquered population. Edomite tribes settled also in the south of Judah, like the Kenizzites Genesis 36:11, to whom Caleb and Othniel belonged Joshua 15:17. The southern part of Edom was known as Teman..

Zidonians=The inhabitants of Zidon. They were among the nations of Canaan; left to give the Israelites practice in the art of war Judges 3:3, and colonies of them appear to have spread up into the hill country from Lebanon to Misrephoth-maim Joshua 13:4,6, whence in later times they hewed cedar trees for David and Solomon I chronicles 22:4. They oppressed the Israelites on their first entrance into the country Judges 10:12, and appear to have lived a luxurious, reckless life Judges 18:7. They were skillful in hewing timber I Kings 5:8, and were employed for this purpose by Solomon. They were idolaters, and worshipped Ashtoreth as their tutelary goddess I Kings 11:5,33; II Kings 23:13, as well as the sun-god Baal from whom their king was named I Kings 16:31..

Hittites=The, the nation descended from Cheth (Authorized Version HETH ), the second son of Canaan. Abraham bought from the "children of Heth" the field and the cave of Machpelah, belonging to Ephron the Hittite. 'They were then settled at the town which was afterwards, under its new name of Hebron, to become one of the most famous cities of Palestine, and which then bore the name of Kir-jath-arba Genesis 23:19; 25:9. When the Israelites entered the promised land, we find the Hittites taking part against the invader, in equal alliance with the other Canaanite tribes Joshua 9:1; 11:3 etc.. Henceforward the notices of the Hittites are very few and faint. We meet with two individuals, both attached to the person of David -- "Ahimelech the Hittite" I Samuel 26:6 and Uriah the Hittite," one of "the thirty" of David's body-guard II Samuel 23:39; I Chronicles 11:41..

I Kings 11:2 Of the nations concerning which the LORD said unto the children of Israel, “Ye shall not go in to them, neither shall they come in unto you: for surely they will turn away your heart after their gods:” Solomon clave unto these in love.   ->   Many years before now, Father commanded our forefathers to not take the children of these nations for their children. We must understand the "who," "what," "when," "where," and "why" of this. so, let's turn to the Book of Exodus and review it: Exodus 34:11 Observe thou that which I command thee this day: behold, I drive out before thee the Amorite, and the Canaanite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, and the Hivite, and the Jebusite.   ->   Even before Father sent our forefathers--Abram's descendants--down into Egypt, He had told Abram that the fallen angels had again come to this age and were mating with the Amorites and other peoples of canaan, and He was going to allow it to continue for some time--400 hundred years to be exact--and then as He was moving them into the Promised Land, He would drive them out. This conversation happened in so let's turn there and read of it: Genesis 15: Genesis 15:12 And when the sun was going down, a deep sleep fell upon Abram; and, lo, an horror of great darkness fell upon him.   ->   Father had earlier in this Chapter told Abram that He brought him out of Ur to give him the land he was now in, which of course was the land of Canaan, the Promised land. Abram then asked how he would know that Father would fulfill His Promise and Father told him to build an altar and gather 5 animals for sacrifice. Abram complied. The number 5 in Biblical Numerics denotes “Grace,” and Father had told him 5 because He was letting Abram and us know that this Promise was unconditional. After Abram had did as commanded he fell into a deep sleep or trance. Now, don't be frightened or otherwise confused by this phrase "an horror of great darkness." In the Hebrew manuscripts is states that a deep sleep or trance came upon Abram, and Father did this to show us that Abram had no part in the sleep or the Covenant process - meaningThe Covenant was by Father YHVH to Abram, and was unconditional Father was and is the contracting or issuing partyand as such it comes from Him. [15:13] And He said unto Abram, "Know of a surety that thy seed shall be a stranger in a land that is not theirs, (and shall serve them; and they shall afflict them) four hundred years;   ->   The four hundred years in reality became four hundred thirty years. The difference of the 430 years comes in here: 430 to the exodus - Exodus 12:40 from Genesis 12:4, when Abram was 75 years old: it would be 25 years until Isaac's birth; and now, 5 to his recognition as the seed, thus equaling 30 years, and then when the Israelites went down into Egypt because of the famine, they were there 400 years bringing to total 430. Thy seed=Isaac and then all Abram's descendants. In the New Testament, in the Book of Acts Stephen gives a wonderful accounting of this incident in Genesis 15 to the counsels in Acts 7. Sharpen up for me, the upcoming verse tells us why Father will send Abram's descendants down to Egypt. [15:14] And also that nation, whom they shall servewill I judge: and afterward shall they come out with great substance.   ->   Father wanted to judge the Egyptians. Why? Because they were serving other gods - lower case "g." The gods they were serving can be seen in the plagues that Father brought upon the Egyptians just prior to the exodus - insects, animals, water, pestilence, etc., there is also another reason, and we'll read of it when we come to v15:16. [15:15] And thou shalt go to thy fathers in peace; thou shalt be buried in a good old age.   ->   Father promises Abram a long life and he fulfills that promise as Abram lived to be 175 years old. Sharpen up for me again, the next verse is extremely important as to why Father sent them down to Egypt. [15:16] But in the fourth generation they shall come hither again: for the iniquity of the Amorite is not yet full."   ->   Father wanted Abram's descendants - Isaac's son Jacob (later named Israel  - The Prince that prevails with God, by Father) and his children - the Israelites out of this land, Canaan - The Promised Land, in order for the Amorites to continue what they were doing - "the iniquity of the Amorites." What was their iniquity, what is it that they were doing? They was messing with, and mating with, the fallen angels which had come back after the flood of Noah's time which we can read of in Genesis 6. This mating produced hybrid offspring - the "mighty men" or the gibbor - the giants. The same as Goliath and Og to name two, but there were many more - Goliath's brother had six fingers on each hand and six toes on each foot. For more references and reading on these fallen angels and their hybrid offspring, follow the links: Companion Bible Appendix 23 - "The sons of God", and Companion Bible Appendix 25 - "The nephilim of Genesis 6". These Amorites were of the Adamic seedline - the seedline through which Father Himself would be born as His Son Emmanuel - God with us - Jesus Christ. Therefore, He was not about to let this mixing continue for too long, just long enough for Abram's descendants to grow in number and strength, so that He could bring them back to utterly destroy these people and the hybrid offspring. Sadly, most people have no knowledge why Father would tell the Israelites to utterly destroy these people - man, woman and child; but, they accept the fact that He said to do so. Let's return now to Exodus 34: [34:12] Take heed to thyself, lest thou make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land whither thou goest, lest it be for a snare in the midst of thee:   ->   Here Father is telling Moses to tell the Israelites that when they came into the Promised Land, they weren't even to make any covenants:--accords, contracts, leagues, pacts, or treaties--with the inhabitants because of who they were, and what they had done. Sadly, we today know that, as soon as Moses returned Home to Father, they--the Gibeonites, or Hivites--deceptively came to Joshua and the elders and conned them into making a covenant, this can be read of in Joshua 9. [34:13] But ye shall destroy their altars, break their images, and cut down their groves:   ->   Here Father tells Moses that as soon as they enter into the Promised Land, the Israelites were to tear down and destroy the canaanite altars at which they worshipped their false gods. Let's look at this word "groves," in the Hebrew, in the Strong's Concordance, it is Hebrew word number H842 - אשׁירה    אשׁרה, - 'ăshêrâh, 'ăshêyrâh, pronounced - ash-ay-raw', ash-ay-raw', and means: From H833; happy; asherah (or Astarte) a Phoenician goddess; also an image of the same: - grove. Compare H6253.. Now let’s look at H833: H833 - אשׁר    אשׁר,'âshar, 'âshêr, pronounced - aw-shar', aw-share', and means: A primitive root; to be straight (used in the widest sense, especially to be level, right, happy); figuratively to go forward, be honest, prosper: - (call, be) bless (-ed, happy), go, guide, lead, relieve.. And now H6253: H6253 - עשׁתּרת, - ‛ashtôreth, pronounced - ash-to'-reth, and means: Probably for H6251; Ashtoreth, the Phoenician goddess of love (and increase): - Ashtoreth.. Dr. Bullinger has an Appendix in his Companion Bible which addresses the asherah. As we continue our reading here in I Kings 11, sadly, we'll be reading of Solomon accepting in and worshipping ashtoreth. It's important for us to know how they did this. Every spring they went to out into the groves of trees wearing their brightly spring colored dresses and bonnets and other items of clothing, and celebrated by giving thanks to these false gods--and not ELOHIM--for beginning new life, and they did so by cutting the trees in the grove to resemble phallic symbols or images, rolling eggs--think easter egg hunts--and then held religious orgies in worship of and to ashtoreth and other fertility gods and goddesses. Sadly, our Christian celebration of easter--Ishtar: Ishtar (the syrian name for ashtoreth) was the goddess of love, war, fertility, and sexuality--today, is derived from these ancient pagan orgy worship services, and today we even now include the rabbit: easter bunny, or peter rabbit, which symbolized how quickly a rabbit fertilizes and multiplies; but, also because of the hopping from one partner to the next. As we'll discover, during these orgies, it wasn't just men copulating with the women; but with other men too. This is part of the reason why Father was and is so against this, of course, it also goes against His nature and therefore is an abomination to Him! [34:14] For thou shalt worship no other god: for the LORD, Whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God:   ->   Father has every right to be jealous as we are all his creation and when his creation worship and give credit to something which man has made and say "this image, idol or whatever is my god" that hurts His feelings and angers Him. After all, it was He Who created your very soul. [34:15] Lest thou make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land, and they go a whoring after their gods, and do sacrifice unto their gods, and one call thee, and thou eat of his sacrifice;   ->   Hear Father, He is saying that, should Moses and the Israelites--our forefathers--not utterly destroy the inhabitants of the Promised Land; then, they--and we today--just might worship their false gods, idols and images. This prophesy by Father came to pass, and has also come to pass in our current time today as, look what all we here in the United States of America--part of the scattered 10 tribes of the House of Israel--serve today. We are putting homosexuality above and ahead of Father and His Commandments, Judgments, Laws, Ordinances and Statutes. Today in this country it is "OK and celebrated" to be queer, and almost to the point of persecution for being a YHVH fearing--read that revering--Christian. Even some of the denominational churches have declared "God's Word isn't the authority on homosexuality.". [34:16] And thou take of their daughters unto thy sons, and their daughters go a whoring after their gods, and make thy sons go a whoring after their gods.   ->   Here is where Solomon went off the beaten path as, when all those kings, dignitaries and heads of state came to hear his wisdom, bringing with them their daughters, Solomon saw these fair young maidens and fell in lust after them and took them to wife and concubine. They brought with them their false gods, idols and images to worship, and in order to please these ladies, Solomon also served and worshipped them. To do that, he had to make altars for them, which he gladly and willingly did. It hurt and angered Father, especially since it was He Who gave Solomon his wisdom in the first place, as we're about to find out. [34:17] Thou shalt make thee no molten gods.   ->   Our Father ELOHIM YHVH is a jealous God, and if you don't want trouble in your life; then, don't mess with anything which can be put between you and our Creator. If you know of some religious group or teaching which is false and partake in it, He will cut you off from His blessings. This is what is known as “the mark of the hand of the beast” of the end times. The giving of service to some gentile, heathen, or pagan religious belief or teaching: in other words, to be helping it along. It is doing the work of satan, and it absolutely makes our Father mad with jealousy. We can read of this in the New Testament, in Matthew 24: Matthew 24:19 And woe to them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!   ->   This is spiritual, for we are to remain spiritual virgins, part of the bride of Christ, and when our Lord Jesus Christ returns, many will find themselves with satan's child; no, not physical child, but they gave of themselves to satan, and helped out to being other to satan and his work. They will be spiritually impregnated by his lies, and nursing his work through what they do and say. Father hates it; so, watch out for those religions and denominations which go against His Word. As He Himself declares: His name is jealous.

Solomon clave unto these in love=We can read in Deuteronomy 4:4 where Moses tells the Israelites Whom we are to cleave to: Deuteronomy 4:4 But ye that did cleave unto the LORD your God are alive every one of you this day.   ->   We are to cleave to Father and He alone for, He is our Creator, our Covenant maker and keeper, and our Saviour.

Let's return now to I Kings 11:

I Kings 11:3 And he had seven hundred wives, princesses, and three hundred concubines: and his wives turned away his heart.   ->   A thousand women he was trying to keep. Yes, he was king and ruler over the Nation, and in theory he could afford having this many women; however, can you imagine!? How do you remember all their names and such? And yes, I know--sadly--most of these were women he "lusted after" in order to have relations with; but, still. Once he lay with them, they pretty much became wards of the state, meaning that, the people picked up the tab--through the tribute, levy or tax he imposed upon them--and kept them--the women and their children too if they had any--in clothing, food, and shelter all the rest of the days of their lives. Solomon was wrong for imposing the king's harem as a tax burden on the people.

These women sound like some of the child support and welfare queens we have in this country today. I mean, think of it, they knew that their laying with the king--even if it was only one time--came with fringe benefits, so, why not?

His wives turned away his heart=It wasn't so much that they took up all his time that he no longer thought about Father; though, when you're that concerned about chasing skirts, it shows what is on your mind; but, it was that these women brought their little false gods with them and Solomon allowed it. These women--because Solomon allowed them to come between he and Father--became an idol in and of themselves to Solomon; but, even worse, when he allowed them to bring their false gods and idols, he set-up altars for them to worship those little false gods at; and, he too went and worshipped at those altars. And, not only did they turn Solomon's heart away from Father; but, as the old saying goes: "as the king does, so does the nation," and that is exactly what happened, Solomon chased after these false gods, and his being king, the people almost "had to" too. I'm sure--though it might not be stated,--Solomon made a decree that the Nation also serve the gods he was now serving.

I Kings 11:4 For it came to pass, when Solomon was old, that his wives turned away his heart after other gods: and his heart was not perfect with the LORD his God, as was the heart of David his father.   ->   When Solomon was old=We know that during the first 20 years of Solomon's reign--from age 19-39--he was focused on Father, building the Temple and then his own house and the palatial complex; however, once all his building appetite was sated, then his lustful appetite took over and he no longer focused on Father as YHVH only.

This was the true difference between Solomon and his father David. They both lusted after the flesh, David with, or for Bath-sheba, and now Solomon with, or for his 1,000 women, most of whom are foreign; however, David never turned from following, loving, serving and worshipping Father YHVH only, whereas, as we're reading, Solomon is.

Brethren, there is nothing wrong with having outside interests and not focusing only on Father and His Word all the time, in fact, I encourage it as, it is healthy; however, with that being said, we should not put those interests before, or allow them to come between us and Father as, that is unhealthy and then becomes an idol.

Let's find out who these lower case "g" gods were that Solomon allowed these women to bring into Israel with them:

I Kings 11:5 For Solomon went after Ashtoreth (a star) the goddess of the Zidonians, and after Milcom (king; or great king) the abomination of the Ammonites.   ->   Though it has now been almost 100-150 years since Israel served these false gods, Solomon is now bringing them back into the Nation. It's funny--in a non-humorous way--how these gods with the lower case "g" spell big trouble for Israel and any other of Father's children.

Solomon's foreign wives brought with them the worship of Ashtoreth, the goddess of love and increase. They worshipped ashtorest by having orgies. Read that as: free-for-all sex.  And they worshipped Milcom, the arabic pronunciation Molech (addressed, called or identified as such in verse v11:7 below), the fire god. They worshipped Molech how? By throwing their infant babies into the fire and burning them alive. Does this sound sort of familiar? It should, as it is exactly what many do in this country today: have free-for-all sex and then abort the babies when the women become pregnant.

Ashtoreth=H6253 - עשׁתּרת, ‛ashtôreth, pronounced ash-to'-reth, and means: Probably for H6251; Ashtoreth, the Phoenician goddess of love (and increase [fertility]): - Ashtoreth. The principal female divinity of the Phoenicians, called Ishtar (known today all over the world as: easter) by the Assyrians and Astarte by the Greeks and Romans. She was by some ancient writers identified with the moon. But on the other hand the Assyrian Ishtar was not the moon-goddess, but the planet Venus; and Astarte was by many identified with the goddess Venus (or Aphrodite), as well as with the plant of that name. It is certain that the worship of Astarte became identified with that of Venus, and that this worship was connected with the most impure rites is apparent from the close connection of this goddess with ASHERAH I Kings 11:5,33; II Kings 23:13..

Milcom=H4445 - מלכּום    מלכּם, - malkâm or milkôm, pronounced - mal-kawm', or mil-kome', and means: From H4428 for H4432; Malcam or Milcom, the national idol of the Ammonites: - Malcham, Milcom.. Let's now look at H4432: H4432 - מלך, môlek, pronounced - mo'-lek, and means: From H4427; Molek (that is, king), the chief deity of the Ammonites: - Molech. Compare H4445. The god milcom is was also known as Molech. The fire-god Molech was the tutelary deity of the children of Ammon, and essentially identical with the Moabitish Chemosh. Fire-gods appear to have been common to all the Canaanite, Syrian and Arab tribes, who worshipped the destructive element under an outward symbol, with the most inhuman rites. According to Jewish tradition, the image of Molech was of brass, hollow within, and was situated without Jerusalem. "His face was (that) of a calf, and his hands stretched forth like a man who opens his hands to receive (something) of his neighbor. And they kindled it with fire, and the priests took the babe and put it into the hands of Molech, and the babe gave up the ghost." Many instances of human sacrifices are found in ancient writers, which may be compared with the description of the Old Testament of the manner in which Molech was worshipped. Molech was the lord and master of the Ammonites; their country was his possession Jeremiah 49:1, as Moab was the heritage of Chemosh; the princes of the land were the princes of Malcham Jeremiah 49:3; Amos 1:15. His priests were men of rank Jeremiah 49:3, taking precedence of the princes. The priests of Molech, like those of other idols, were called Chemarim II Kings 23:5; Hosea 10:5; Zephaniah 1:4..

Abomination=The word used for an idol because of Father YHVH'S hatred which is produced by the act.

I Kings 11:6 And Solomon did evil in the sight of the LORD, and went not fully after the LORD, as did David his father.   ->   Solomon did evil=Solomon did as his and our forefathers did right after the time of the Judge Gideon whom Father had sent to remove all the evil the Israelites had been doing. As sson as he died, they went right back to it, let's return and review what we had read back in Judges 8:33: Judges 8:32 And Gideon the son of Joash died in a good old age, and was buried in the sepulchre of Joash his father, in Ophrah of the Abiezrites.   ->   For being obedient to Father and removing all the forms of pagan worship, and the false gods and idols which went with that worship, Father blessed gideon with a long life. [8:33] And it came to pass, as soon as Gideon was dead, that the children of Israel turned again, and went a whoring after Baalim, and made Baalberith their god.   ->   As soon as he was dead. These fools of our forefathers sure were sottish, they were almost chomping at the bit waiting for Gideon to die; so they could turn away from Father and go back to whoring after baal. Let's see how else they were sottish.

We saw when we read the Book of Judges that each time the “Father appointed Judge” of Israel returned Home to Father; the people went right back into their former heathen worship practices that the Judge had led them out of. When Gideon died, they went back to make Baal-berith their god. What, or who was "baal-berith?" Let’s go to the Strong's and find out: in the Hebrew, in the Strong’s Concordance, it is Hebrew word number 1170 - Ba'al Beriyth, pronounced - bah'-al-ath beh-ayr' and means: from 1168 and 1285; baal of (the) covenant, Baal Berith, a special deity of the Shechemites: Baal berith.. Now let's take it back to Strong's number 1168 - ba‛al, pronounced - bah'-al and means: The same as H1167; Baal, a Phoenician deity: - Baal, [plural] Baalim.. Now let's look at Hebrew word number H1285 - berı̂yth, pronounced - ber-eeth' and means: From H1262 (in the sense of cutting (like H1254)); a compact (because made by passing between pieces of flesh): - confederacy, [con-]feder[-ate],covenant, league.. So, in other words, wherever baal worship exists; the groves are mentioned, as well as this word "Asherah." As we learned already, the asherah was where they carved the trees into phallic symbols in the groves and held their orgies.

What we saw in Judges was that all the times that baal, asherah and groves were used in the form of worship, they were all tied together and not separated and that was for a reason. It deals with a tree with the tops cut off, and the trunk or stump fashioned into a certain shape. We learn in Deuteronomy 16 that the Israelites were not to be like the heathen and worship as they. Let's trace this all the way back to get the full understanding of it: Deuteronomy 16:21 Thou shalt not plant thee a grove of any trees near unto the altar of the Lord thy God, which thou shalt make thee.   ->   When we take the word "grove" back into the Hebrew, here again we see the word "asherah." This is not talking about just planting trees, but what you make of the trees once they have grown to maturity. It deals with how you shape the trees, and what those shapes are symbols of and represent. We already know they shaped the asherah into phallic symbols, but let's continue tracing this back. These shaped tree stumps were set erect, into the ground. We learn, when we go to the Book of Isaiah that this was going on as well: Isaiah 17:8 And he shall not look to the altars, the work of his hands, neither shall respect that which his fingers have made, either the groves or the images.   ->   Once again, we see the groves and the images are tied together. Likewise again, the Hebrew text refers to the groves as "asherah," and the images this time; to the "sun." Again, these groves of shaped tree trunks were set erect in the ground. They were made of wood or sometimes the images were shaped from stone. This is why Gideon was able to cut down those groves, as we read in Judges 6:26, where Gideon got his name Jerabbaal - the "cutter down." He also followed the command of Father to build an altar to Father and worship Him; that was fine. But later, without Father's command he built the war memorial and also took the gold earrings and erected an image – the ephod.

Continuing our tracing this back, we next find this "asherah" of a living tree coupled with "Mazzeroth" or "pillars of stone," it is connected directly to baal-worship. The male part called "asherah" is distinguished from the female part called the "ashtoreth" - the female goddess, yet the images are worshipped together. The Ashtoreth being representative of the productive (or passive) principle of life; and baal being representative of the generative (or active) part of the process for producing life. In other words this is using the sexual process in a form of worship, and the shaping of the trunks of trees as the idols and images to excite the worshippers into the practice, and God hates the practice.

"Pillars of stone" or "stones of worship" in baal and asherah worship, are set up all over the Semitic world today; even in Arabia. We also find, even the Mohammedan sacred stone, the "kaaba" which is in Mecca, remains an object of reverence. Like every form of religion, the stones and tree trunks have to do with the "flesh," and then we also have the law of evolution. Evolution is seen as the progress of man's works, because he considers himself to have begun in the simplest form - in ignorance, and through the development and learning process of mistakes and failures, achieve to the point he is today. We read in Isaiah 57:6 Among the smooth stones of the stream is thy portion; they, they are thy lot: even to them hast thou poured a drink offering, thou hast offered a meat offering. Should I receive comfort in these?   ->   When you see the phrase "smooth stones" know that smooth stones were used for "lots, - to apportion or separate" it forms the Greek word for "Stigma," and it should be a warning to us. (1) it separates us from Father and (2) it comes from the number 6-6-6, which has nothing to do with a actual number, but to the word stigma, which is the counting of stones worn smooth over a long period of time. The stones are the number for a man, and that man is satan, and when you know satan, you will know his children. This verse is addressing the identity of the kenites.

These were written as examples to the generation of the end times, and we today are living in those times. The drink offerings and meat offerings in this verse are those things that you use in your worship service, to seek forgiveness for your sins, and as love offerings to Father. Today most churches have allowed the kenite traditions (the smooth stones of the stream) and their lot or traditions to become the drink offering and meat offering to Father. And He is asking, "Should I receive comfort in these?" [57:7] Upon a lofty and high mountain hast thou set thy bed: even thither wentest thou up to offer sacrifices[57:8] Behind the doors also and the posts hast thou set up thy remembrance: for thou hast discovered thyself to another than Me, and art gone up; thou shat enlarged thy bed, and made thee a covenant with them; thou lovedst their bed where thou sawest it.   ->   This bed is not something that you sleep in, it represents something quite religious. Today instead of painting the door outside and over the top with the Lamb's blood, which is to say the blood of Jesus Christ who became our Passover, Christians paint a substitute for the blood on the inside of the door post of their hearts. The Lamb's blood forces satan the death angel to pass over you, and when something other than the blood is on the inside (which is behind the doors and the posts), it means that they have turned back to heathenism.

The word for bed in the Hebrew text is "mish-kawb" meaning a "couch," a place for "sexual joining." What it is then saying is that you enjoy the heathen religious experiences, and you have not saved yourself as a virgin for me, but you have given yourself over to another. This is exactly what Jesus taught in Matthew 24:19 And woe unto them that are with child and to them that give suck in those days.   ->   Jesus expects you to be one of the virgins that remained true to Him, spiritually speaking, right up to the moment of His return. When you have given yourself over to the first Christ, satan the antichrist, then you have gone whoring and are "with child" from satan. The subject of this verse is the word "bed;" so, let's take this word back to its prime root meaning: in the Strong's Concordance, it is Hebrew word number H4904 - Mishkab, pronounced - mish-kawb' and means; from 4901, a bed (fig. a bier) abstr. sleep, by euphemcarnal intercourse: bed [chamber] couch, lying with.. Let's continue with H4901 - Meshek, pronounced - Meh'-shek and means, from 4900, a sowing; also a possession: precious  price.. Let's now go to the prime for this word "bed" to see what God is talking about in Isaiah 57:7-8, it is Hebrew word number H4900 - Mashak, pronounced - maw-shak'; A prime root; to draw, used in a great variety of applications, (including to sow, to sound, to prolong, to develop, to march, to remove to delay, etc.): -draw (along out), continue, extend..

The "covenant" that Father is referring to here in Isaiah 57:8, is a "marriage contract" that you have made with satan, when you are lying in his bed, and doing the work of his world system to draw others to him. Father is saying "thou lovest their bed," or - you like to crawl into satan's bed and do his work. "Where thou lovest it" is "when you saw satan's manhood." When satan's system beckons to you; in ignorance you will be drawn to him joyfully, because your church house is training you right now, to do so. Christians are supposed to be "the bride of Christ," however most of them don't know how to identify their husband when He does arrive, sure, they say right now they do, or "they know His voice" but sadly, they will be deceived by the false who comes first. And then when the True comes, He'll say, "get away from me – I never knew you."

Symbols mean everything in religious form, and the Asherah, or the "phallus" became the symbol for the baal worship. What started out to be the honoring of the origin of life, became corrupted into a form of worshipping the organs which produce the life. These symbols then in turn, became the incentive to all forms of impurity, which in time turned into nothing but sexual orgies. The start of these principle forms started in the ancient Canaanite religions, which originated way back in Nimrod's day, who was the grandson of Ham, the son of Noah. Ham had four sons and their names were Cush, and Mizraim, Phut, and Canaan." Genesis 10:8 And Cush begat Nimrod: he began to be a mighty one in the earth. [10:9] He was a mighty hunter before the Lord: wherefore it is said, "Even as Nimrud the might hunter before the Lord.   ->   It is from Ham's son - Canaan, that the Canaanites came: and the one to first give form to the "one world religious order" was Cush's son - Nimrod. This family of Canaanites is where the development of baal and ashtoreth took hold and spread. It spread over the entire face of the earth when Nimrod's kingdom was split when God confused the people with different languages after they built the "tower of Babel." In that ancient Semerian religion, Nimrud was the male form, and believed to have become the sun. Nimrod's wife Semiremis, took on the goddess form after her death, that at first she was called Shamash. Then she universally took on the name of Ishtar, as well as other forms such as Diana of Corinth in the time of Paul.

Every ancient system of idolatry is connected with astrology and etc., these were not something that was new, but a twisting and corrupting of what was old, and accepted from the early days of the Canaanites. There can be no doubt about the origin of all "Phallic" worship, pure and simple, for this abomination was common to all the ancient nations, and relics from all over the world are found which prove this fact. What first started by the Canaanites in the world system of Nimrod, spread when Father scattered the people at the tower of Babel. Genesis 11:4 And they said, "Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth."   ->   In the Hebrew text this "let us make us a great name," reads, "let us provide our own salvation." These same people lived to hear and remember from those that went through the great flood of Noah's day. All of the souls that went through the flood were alive in the day that Nimrod was setting up this new world order. They were banded together to keep from being spread abroad. They also knew that Father had made a covenant with Noah that mankind would never be destroyed by flood waters again. However, they did not believe Father, nor did they trust Him.

They knew of Nimrod's strength, and the people relied on him for their security. They trusted Nimrod. In the 1930's Hitler and the Nazi's rose to power under the same conditions, protection, security, law and order. The Germans also had faith in Hitler to bring them peace and prosperity, however they did not consider the cost, sounds like our current occupier of 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. In the phrase "a name" shows that the people desired their independence from God. [11:5] And the Lord came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded.   ->   Father has stated in His Word what man has to do to be saved, however, man continues to try even to this day to build his towers in order to reach his own false peace and salvation. Man tries to move to bypass the sacrifice of our Lord Jesus Christ, and His shed blood on the cross. They have rejected Father's plan and instead substituted their own man made forms of religions.

The term "come down" in the Hebrew is "anthropopatheia." It is the ascribing to Father - the things that belong to human and rational beings, irrational creatures, or inanimate things – all which He hates. [11:6] And the Lord said, "Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do. [11:7] "Go to, let us go down, and there confounded their language, that they may not understand one another's speech.   ->   In the phrase "let us go down" in the Hebrew text shows that Judgment is going to take place to these people. [11:8] So the Lord scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city. [11:9] Therefore is the name of it called Babel: because the Lord did there confound the language of all the earth: and from thence did the Lord scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth.   ->   Keep in mind that this event is called "Babel" not the location. The subject is what the people are doing, and that is to create a way on their own for their own salvation. The word Babel in the Hebrew tongue means "confusion." It was through the confusion of languages, that Father scattered the peoples of the earth. It was also the confusion of man substituting His plan and covenants for their own, that man formed his religions. It is from confusion that the word "Babylon" came. These early Canaanites were the founders of the ancient Babylon, the Babylon prior to the Babylon of Nebuchadzeddar's kingdom of Daniel's day.

This was why Father commanded the children of Israelites to destroy the Canaanites when He brought them up, out of Egypt. These Canaanites were the mixture and descendants of the fallen angels which came to earth to breed with women during the second influx. This is described in the Book of Jude - the time when the fallen angels left their first estate, or "habitation" and came to earth, disregarding Father's orders to them. Sadly, the Israelites did not listen to Father and destroy the Canaanites but instead, made them their neighbors and took on them; their gods. That is what this book of Judges is all about: Every time a Judge died, the Israelites went right back into baal, ashtoreth and grove worship.

As we're about to read here, after the death of Solomon, Father will split the Nation of Israel into two separate nations or "houses," it was also because of the sins of the house of Israel in following these heathen religious forms, that Father separated Himself from the House of Israel. Then after He became flesh, through His death and resurrection, the way was made so that we, of the house of Israel could be drawn back to Him.

Though the practices of these heathen forms may not look the same today, the symbols of those ancient forms are just as much present today in the Christian church houses as they were then, only we like to cover them over by redefining what they are. In ignorance man seems to think that because he can con himself, he can also con Father. Our Heavenly Father hates all forms of those ancient religious practices, and He is a jealous God, which most Christians can't and don't comprehend.

Today, much of baal and ashtoreth is preserved in veiled language in secret fraternities, Freemasonry, Theosophy, and in the Roman Church. The language of these religious forms are so concealed that those using it probably have little idea at all what it is pertaining to, or what they are perpetuating. In those ancient symbols "I O" proclaims "sex as the true God of Hosts," as the Jewish Kabala declares.

The reason for so deep of detail here on baal, ashtoreth and grove worship, is because we will continue to see these forms of worship throughout the rest of the Book of Judges, so we better understand right now, just what it is that God so hated and despised. Many of those things have come down through the centuries and are appearing in new forms in the church houses today. Solomon told us – "There is nothing new under the sun," and today the movement is to drive Father completely out our public schools. Sure they have cleaned up the orgies and renamed ideas with names like evolution, Darwinism, but they have also brought in forms of baalism and the condoning Sodomy as "a different life style."

Went not fully=In other words, Solomon split his worship between Father and all the other gods his foreign wives brought in with them, which is why Father told and commanded the Israelites to not mix--marry--with the other races, or peoples. He knew and even forwarned Moses and had it recorded in The Law; which, Solomon wrote his own copy and therefore: knew; but, did it anyway because of his lust of the flesh.

Truly this is was the difference between David and his son Solomon. David stayed true to Father and never served any other gods, Solomon on the other hand when he became older--and I believe because of an over inflated ego--served any and all gods.

Let's return now to I Kings 11:

I Kings 11:7 Then did Solomon build an high place for Chemosh, the abomination of Moab, in the hill that is before Jerusalem, and for Molech, the abomination of the children of Ammon.   ->   A moment ago we reviewed from Judges 8, let's now go back and review a little from Judges 10: Judges 10:6 And the children of Israel did evil again in the sight of the LORD, and served Baalim, and Ashtaroth, and the gods of Syria, and the gods of Zidon, and the gods of Moab, and the gods of the children of Ammon, and the gods of the Philistines, and forsook the LORD, and served not him.   ->   No sooner had the Judges who kept the children of Israel just above the borderline of slipping back into idolatry died, they fell immediately back into whoredom and worshipping other, false gods; baal and ashtaroth; the gods of the syrians – bel, saturn, or jupiter and astarte; the gods of the Zidonians – ashtaroth, astarte and venus; the gods of moabites – chemosh; the gods of the ammonites – milcom or molech; and the gods of the philistines – dagon.

We covered two these religious forms in detail back in Judges 8:33; and Judges 10; but, since Father is calling our attention to the other false gods here in I Kings 11, it'll be good to go into a deeper study of all these lower case “g” gods, the gods baal and ashtaroth and read about them and also to review the some of the other false gods: ashtaroth, astarte, baal, bel, dagon, briefly, there is no need to get into too much detail of jupiter and saturn as they are planets and that is easy enough to understand - planet worship.

Ashtaroth=H6252 - ‛ashtârôth or ‛ashtârôth, pronounced - ash-taw-roth', ash-taw-roth' and means: Plural of H6251; Ashtaroth, the name of a Sidonian deity, and of a place East of the Jordan: - Ashtaroth, Astaroth. See also H1045, H6253, H6255.. Ashtaroth and once As'taroth, a city on the east of Jordan in Bashan, in the kingdom of Og, doubtless so called from being a seat of the worship of the goddess of the same name Deuteronomy 1:4; Joshua 9:10; 12:413:12.. This H6255 was ashtaroth karnahyim which translated means Ashtaroth of (the) double horns., sounds like the "picture" we have of satan today.

Astarte=astarte is also known as Astarat and Astoreth. She is an incarnation of Ishtar and Inanna. This Semitic Goddess was worshipped by the Syrians, Canaanites (today called Palestinians), Phoenicians, Egyptians and other Semitic Tribes. King Solomon will be shortly building a Temple to Her as Astoreth, near Jerusalem. Astarte was worshipped as many things; to the Egyptians, She was honored as a Goddess of War and tenacity, to the Semites, She was a Goddess of Love and Fertility. Among the Greeks She was transposed into the Goddess of Love Aphrodite. In Father’s Word, She is referred to as "the abomination." Considering Her widespread devotion in Biblical times, the attempts to discredit the goddess are not surprising..

When we speak of baal, we have to include the worship of ashtaroh, because they are tied together as a unit. Wherever baal worship exists, the groves are mentioned, as well as the word "asherah." The word "Asherah" in the Hebrew is from the root word "Aahar," and it meansto be straight, erect, and upright.” It is from this word that we get the moral reference, "to be upright", hence happy and prosper. The male part called "asherah"--baal--is distinguished from "ashtaroth" the female goddess, yet the images are worshipped together. The ashtaroth being representative of the productive (or passive) principle of life; and "baal" or "asherah" being representative of the generative (or active) part of the process for producing life. In other words, this is using the sexual process in a form of worship, and the shaping of the trunks of the trees as the idols and images (groves) are done to excite the worshippers into the practice, and Father hates the practice!

It was from this form that the religious practices of "evolution" that we have today came from, giving "chance," and the reproductive processes of men and women the credit of creation and salvation for mankind. It leaves ELOHIM—the Creator – our Heavenly Father—out of the creation process, and man ends up worshipping the creation and himself, rather than the CreatorWho is The ONE and ONLY True Living God.

As I said in the previous verse—v11:6—in some religions, symbols mean everything; and the ashrah, or the "phallus" was the symbol for the baal worship. The forming of this symbol in their formed images, made from the topping of a tree, and shaping of it, became the image of worship. What started out to be the honoring of the origin of life; became a corrupted form of worshipping of the organs that produce the life. These symbols in turn, became the incentive to all forms of impurity, which in time turned into nothing but sexual orgies.

Since the creation of man on the sixth day, and with no written knowledge of what they were worshipping, we don't really know when this all started. However, we also can look to what was happening and happened when the fallen angels came in Genesis 6, we know that they were mating with women and doing who knows what else sexually with them, but suffice it to say that is was probably perverted, and from it also they were worshipping the reproductive organs. We do know some of this started also in the ancient Canaanite religions, which originated way back in Nimrod's day who was the grandson of Noah, the son of Ham. Ham had four sons and their names were Cush, Mizraim, Phut, and Canaan. Canaan was the father of the Canaanites who were the originators of baal, and ashtorah. Nimrod was the son of Cush. It was for this reason that God gave the commandment to Israel that when they entered into the Promised Land – Father told Abram that He was going to allow some of this to come to pass back in Genesis 15, but as soon as they came out of Egypt; they were to kill all of the Canaanites, tare down their images and destroy their groves. That's right Father said to utterly destroy all the men, women and children, and even their animals. Sadly, they did not listen to Father; they did not destroy the Canaanites but mixed in with them and also the Gibeonites (Hivites) as we can read of in Joshua 9; because of their disobedience to Father, the Israelites have brought all their troubles upon themselves.

Chemosh=H3645 - כּמישׁ    כּמושׁo, kemôsh or  kemı̂ysh, pronounced - kem-oshe', kem-eesh', and means: From an unused root meaning to subdue; the powerful; Kemosh, the god of the Moabites: - Chemosh.. -- Little doubt can be made that the Moabites tried to aspire chemosh to the height of power of Father.. The national deity of the Moabites Numbers 21:29Jeremiah 48:7,13,46. In Judges 11:24 he also appears as the god of the Ammonites. Solomon introduced, and Josiah abolished, the worship of Chemosh at Jerusalem I kings 11:7II Kings 23:13. Also identified with Baal-peor, Baalzebub, Mars and Saturn.. Chemosh Was the sun god worshipped by the Moabites, the ammonites (sister tribes of the offspring of Lot and his daughters) and is identified somewhat with baalpeor, of which we read of in Numbers 23 and 25: Numbers 23:28 And Balak brought Balaam unto the top of Peor, that looketh toward Jeshimon.   ->   Balak takes Balaam to another high place where they worship baal, thinking that they can worship YHVH here as well. He just doesn’t get (like most people today) that you cannot Worship YHVH and any other gods (lower case “g”) at the same time or place. There is only one True God and He is ELOAH, The One and Only True Living God. Peor was the mountain on which baal was worshipped. What does Peor mean? In the Hebrew in the Strong’s it is word number H6465 and means: gap; or opening. It was where they held their orgies during their worship services to baal, and as we’ll see in Numbers 25 these used the Israelite women as prostitutes in their worship of baal. Who was baal? In the Hebrew, in the Strong’s, baal is word number H1166 baal and means: to be master, hence to marry and be husband. Of course we know who our True Husband is - Jesus. But it was here on this mountain, Peor, that the Moabites worshipped their idol baal. We can compare this with Hosea 9:10 I found Israel like grapes in the wilderness; I saw your fathers as the firstripe in the fig tree at her first time: but they went to Baal-Peor, and separated themselves unto that shame; and their abominations were according as they loved.   -> From Roger Christopherson’s study - “The "wilderness" is a desert. Thus we can see how precious fresh grapes would be in a hot desert. God is saying here, His children "Israel" were as sweet to Him, as those fresh ripened grapes are in a desert.  Then they, "Israel", went to "Baal-peor", following after heathen god's, taking all their abominations, and adopting all their worshipping [love] practices. This is directed to ancient Israel as we see here in Numbers 23:28; and also to our generation because this is what will happen when anti-christ arrives. We must remember, in Hosea's time though, Israel had been scattered. Let’s now look at Numbers 25:1-5: Numbers 25:1 And Israel abode in Shittim, and the people began to commit whoredom with the daughters of Moab.   ->   Sadly, as we see, the Israelites did not listen to YHVH and utterly destroy the Moabites, but instead, joined themselves to them. YVHV told them not to do this, as can be read in Exodus 34:12-16Exodus 34:12 Take heed to thyself, lest thou make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land whither thou goest, lest it be for a snare in the midst of thee: [34:13] But ye shall destroy their altars, break their images, and cut down their groves: [34:14] For thou shalt worship no other god: for the LORD, Whose name is jealous, is a jealous GOD: [34:15] Lest thou make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land, and they go a whoring after their gods, and do sacrifice unto their gods, and one call thee, and thou eat of his sacrifice; [34:16] And thou take of their daughters unto thy sons, and their daughters go a whoring after their gods, and make thy sons go a whoring after their gods.   ->   We can also compare this with Deuteronomy 23:17 There shall be no whore of the daughters of Israel, nor a sodomite of the sons of Israel.   ->   Check out the words “whore” and “sodomite” from this verse in your Strong’s Concordance brethren. “Whore” in the Strong’s, in the Hebrew is Hebrew word number H6948 - קדשׁה, - qedêshâh, pronounced - ked-ay-shaw', and means: Feminine of H6945; a female devotee (that is, prostitute): - harlot, whore., whereas “sodomite” is Hebrew word number (notice in the description of a whore, the feminine is Hebrew word H6945) same as the word sodomite: H6945 - קדשׁ, - qâdêsh, pronounced - kaw-dashe', andmeans: From H6942; a (quasi) sacred person, that is, (technically) a (male) devotee (by prostitution) to licentious idolatry: - sodomite, unclean.. So, in other words, both the whore and the sodomite were\are instruments\people to be used during a worship service to baal, and it is no different today with all our licentiousness. [25:2] And they called the People unto the sacrifices of their gods: and the People did eat, and bowed down to their gods.   ->   This is just what YHVH did not want them to do. This is the easiest way to anger Him and cause Him to turn His back on you and take away blessings from you. [25:3] And Israel joined himself unto Baal-Peor: and the anger of the LORD was kindled against Israel.   ->   As we learned from Numbers 23:28, Peor was the mountain on which Baal was worshipped. [25:4] And the LORD said unto Moses, “Take all the heads of the People, and hang them up before the LORD against the sun, that the fierce anger of the LORD may be turned away from Israel.   ->   This is one position that you never want to find yourself - where the LORD tells somebody that is in charge of you, that something must be done in order for the fierce anger of the LORD to be turned away from you. These “heads of the People” are the chiefs or princes of the people. The number isn’t stated here in this verse but must have been about 1,000 and included in the 24,000 of verse v25:9 but, excluded from I Corinthians 10:8 Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand.. hang them up=i.e. impaled or nailed to a stake, as in crucifixion. The vulgate renders it “crucify,” which means the same thing. [25:5] And Moses said unto the judges of Israel, “Slay ye every one his men that were joined unto Baal-peor.”   ->   Remember from Numbers 11, Father had told Moses that he should gather 70 men to assist Moses in judging the people. Well, it is these judges that Moses is telling in this verse to go to every one of his men and slay those that had yoked themselves to Baal-Peor. Had we continued here in Numbers 25 we would have found that an Israelite brought in a Midianitish woman and lay with her right there in the camp, until Eleazar’s son Phinehas picked up a spear and ran it through both of them while they were in the act.

Bel=H1078 - bêl, pronounced – bale and means: By contraction for H1168; Bel, the Baal of the Babylonians: - Bel. – bel - signifying "lord" or "master", is a title rather than a genuine name, that is applied to the various gods in Babylonian religion. The feminine form is belit or 'Lady, Mistress'. bel is represented in Greek as Belos and in Latin as belus. Early translators believed that the ideogram for the god called in Sumerian – enlil (the god of breath, wind, loft breadth or "height and distance). This is now known to be incorrect; but one finds bel used in referring to Enlil in older translations and discussions. Bel became especially used of the Babylonian god marduk and when found in Assyrian and neo-Babylonian personal names or mentioned in inscriptions in a Mesopotamian context, it can usually be taken as referring to Marduk--sun god of Babylon--and no other god. Similarly beiit without some disambiguation mostly refers to bel marduk's spouse..

Dagon=H1712 - dâgôn, pronounced - daw-gohn', and means: From H1709 (and H1711 "fish as in prolific" againoffspring - sex); the fish god; Dagon, a Philistine deity: - Dagon.. We know what happened to dagon when the philistines put Father in the same room with him in I Samuel 5, he (it) could not stand with Father in the same room, Father kept knocking him (it) over.

So, this takes us through some of the different false gods that our forefathers served; but, let's continue down this vein a little further. When the Judge, Jair, died; the Israelites not only returned to baalism (plural of baal), they also turned to other heathen practices as well. As we just learned, the god of Moab was molech, and the moabites worshipped molech through the practice of burning their children in sacrifice.

The god of Syria we first read of in Genesis 35:4 And they gave unto Jacob all the strange gods which were in their hand, and all their earrings which were in their ears; and Jacob hid them under the oak which was by Shechem.   ->   We just read of Shechem in Judges 9; and we're still talking about the same people and place here in Judges 10 and here in I Kings 11. The "gods of Syria" were charms which they wore in their ears, on their hands, and on their body. They made themselves charms and put their trust in these charms for their protection. Have you ever heard of a rabbit's foot, a good luck charm and so on, well this is the sort of thing the Syrians relied heavy upon. The "earrings" were part of Jacob's booty in the victory, and they were items made of precious metals. We sure are seeing a lot of people being pierced on different parts of their bodies today, same with tattooing, it seems everybody has to have a tattoo now a days, and on just about every part of their body too.

The gods of Zidon was also baal worship, and also astarte, which was the female part in baal worship. There was another name for Astarte, and that was "ishtar." It was from the feast of ishtar that we get the celebratory practice of easter which still is practiced in most Christian church houses today. The Christian churches brought in the customs and items of this feast of Ishtar; such as the egg hunt and rolling, the bunnies, the bonnets and dresses with their beautiful, bright spring colors, the early morning bowing to the sun in their sunrise services, and other such items of worship, took on a new identity and Christians think that those things have been purified by their traditions. Rather then putting aside those items of heathen worship, the Christian world has hung on to them by redefining what they represent and their use. Sadly and unknowingly, it is a game that many Christians play with Father, mistakenly thinking that somehow they can con Father out of His hatred of those heathen images and symbols and what they actually represent.

The god of the Philistines as we know, was the fish god - dagon. We read of dagon back in Judges 16:23 and other places in Father's Word. It was at the feast to dagon that all the philistines gathered into one place and Sampson brought down the house. Then some six hundred years after than Sampson's defeat of the philistines, the assyrians were made to accept the teaching of Jonah and repent of their sins when they thought Jonah was sent by dagon the fish god. When the people of Nineveh witnessed and heard of Jonah being cast out, and up onto the shore by the great fish that Father prepared for Jonah, they wanted to hear all that Jonah had said. Their god was dagon; and they thought that all the words from Jonah, were from dagon, Jonah was the messenger who dagon sent to them, and they were therefore ready to listen to and comply with all of Jonah's words.

If you foolishly believe that these gods aren't present and being worshipped today, even by Christians; step back and take a good look all around you. See what items, false doctrines and dogma, and such people are using to put their faith in, and what strange things they do in the name of "religion." Solomon told us - there is nothing new under the sun, and what once was practiced and worshipped, sadly has returned as a type.

Our nation was established on the very principles of Father's Word; His Laws, His Commandments, and His Moralities – all prescribed and set forth in His Word. Yet many of those principles today, including even His Laws and Commandments, are being replaced in our Government, our Courts and even in our schools. The very laws of our land – our Constitution and Bill of Rights, we see are our leaders, heck, our schools have become indoctrination centers for the heathen left – the usurper in charge, and both the Congress and House of Representatives, mock Father, and the sad part of it is that they think in their own minds that they can get away with it, it reminds me of Ezekiel 8:17 Then said He unto me, "Hast thou seen this, O son of man? Is it a light thing to the house of Judah that they commit the abominations which they commit here? for they have filled the land with violence, and have returned to provoke Me to anger: and, lo, they put the branch to their nose.   ->   This branch is an "asherah" - a piece of wood cut and formed to the shape of a man's penis. It represented their form of worship that they did in the "groves" where they held their orgies. And symbolically, what did they then do with this branch? To Father, they were rubbing it right under his nose. In the original manuscripts this reads "and they put the branch to 'MYnostrils." It reads differently here in the King James and other versions as well, because the SopherimScribes of the word - the kenites and nethinims - NOT those of the House of Israel or those of the House of Judahchanged the way it reads, because they felt it too derogatory a term and they wanted to hide what Father really felt about it. [8:18] Therefore will I also deal in fury: Mine eye shall not spare, neither will I have pity: and though they cry in Mine ears with loud voice, yet will I not hear them."   ->   Can you now feel our Father's feelings on this and hear the anger of our Father's voice?! – Yeah, our Governmental leader's minds are set in the same mode of wickedness as our forefathers that we're reading of in the days of the Judges. They tempted Father by taking away His standards, and at the same time accepting the most hated forms of practices, such as sodomy. They remove Father, His Word, Prayer and anything else of Father from the schools and the public buildings, and then they turn around and wonder why our streets and filled with crime and children are doing the things that they are doing on today.

Our Constitution, our Preambles and our Bill of Rights were all taken from and giving ode to Father, whereby the people under these documents and their guidelines would better serve Father. Sadly, it has only taken our government two hundred years to now substitute a new form of government, whereby we now exclude Father from many of the basic elements of our lives. They have taken away the Absolutes of Father's Law, and have now replaced it with a new, different type of law, one called the "law of precedent", whereby one court-case decision now sets the example of how all other similar court-cases arising thereafter should be judges. The "right or wrong of the case" is determined by one man and that man calls himself - Judge, completely disregarding the absolutes of Father's Word. The Law has become a game that these legal minds like to play, which does two things; it serves only to make them much money – thereby getting them rich, and, they place the outcome in their hands and not the hands of Father. The practice of law of today is like the practice of Spiritual games that the preachers and their church systems like to play with Father's Word, and sadly, the outcome is the same – serving only to make the preachers rich with their prosperity doctrines and such.

So as we can see, not much has changed at all in the past several thousand years.

In the hill that is before Jerusalem=This hill is the Mount of Olives, and we find that because of what Solomon is about to do, and all which will be done on the Mount of Olives by the Israelites, that it becomes called the Mount of Corruption as Josiah is destroying all the altars, high places and groves: II Kings 23:13 And the high places that were before Jerusalem, which were on the right hand of the mount of corruption, which Solomon the king of Israel had builded for Ashtoreth the abomination of the Zidonians, and for Chemosh the abomination of the Moabites, and for Milcom the abomination of the children of Ammon, did the king defile..

Molech=We covered molech in verse v11:5 above, so there is no need to cover it again here.

I Kings 11:8 And likewise did he for all his strange wives, which burnt incense and sacrificed unto their gods.   ->   In order to continue to please all his foreign wives and ensure peace, Solomon allowed them to keep their false gods, he build the altars all over the Temple Mount, Mount Moriah and Mount Zion at which they would worship their false gods, and he even participated in the worship of those false gods with his foreign wives. Not a very intelligent thing to do, especially considering all the wisdom Father had Blessed him with, actually it was quite sottish on his part. We'll shortly see that this will anger Father so much that He call Solomon Home; however, before He does, He'll notify Solomon that He is about to divide the kingdom into two separate Nations: House of Israel and House of Judah, and He even ensure that Solomon knows why and what is going to happen to the House of Israel once he has been brought Home.

The false gods\religions of today--beside still serving some of those from the past including molechism, astarte, ashtoreth and some of the others--include allah, buddhism, confusicious, hinduism, jainism, prosperity doctrines, rapture, wiccanism and a few others. So, as we see, man is still sottish and desires to worship any and everything under the sun.

11:9 YHVH’S anger.
11:9 Sins. Charged.

I Kings 11:9 And the LORD was angry with Solomon, because his heart was turned from the LORD God of Israel, which had appeared unto him twice,   ->   Solomon has every right to expect Father to be angry with him, after all, Father had told him many years ago that if he would continue to follow, obey, serve and worship Father, and do His Commandments, Judgments, Laws, Ordinances and Statutes, then would Father continue to Bless him beyond measure. There shouldn’t have been any confusion in his mind what Father expected of him, yet with all the wisdom He had Blessed him with, Solomon's lust of the flesh of these women turned his mind and heart away from Father and His commands.

Angry=Check out this word in your Strong's Concordance and elsewhere in Father's Word as, in the Hebrew, it is Hebrew word number H599 - אנף, - 'ânaph, pronounced - aw-naf', and means: A primitive root; to breathe hard, that is, be enraged: - be angry (displeased).. In other words, it is Divine anger and we can verify this by looking at the other uses of it in Father's Word in i.e.: Deuteronomy 1:37; 4:21; 9:8,20; here in I Kings 11:9; and then also in II Kings 17:18. Father had every right to be angry with Solomon, after all, after David and Bath-sheba had named him Solomon, do you recall what Father called him? II Samuel 12:24 And David comforted Bathsheba his wife, and went in unto her, and lay with her: and she bare a son, and he called his name Solomon: and the LORD loved him. [12:25] And He sent by the hand of Nathan the prophet; and he called his name Jedidiah, because of the LORD.   ->   Jedidiah means: Beloved of YAH.

11:10 Sins. Charged.

I Kings 11:10 And had commanded him concerning this thing, that he should not go after other gods: but he kept not that which the LORD commanded.   ->   Sadly, though Father appeared to him not only once; but, twice, had given him wisdom and riches beyond anybody else in the flesh, and had even pointed out to him that should he be a doer of Father's Commandments, Judgments, Laws, Ordinances and Statutes; then, Father would always be with him leading him; but yet, he still chased after his wives false gods.

Don't be too hard on Solomon brethren, as we too fall short of the Glory of Father, we too fail and serve our own little idols, our things which seem important to us and come between us and Father. Yes, we try not to; or, will even go so far to deny that that is what we're doing; but, if you truly think about it, if you put it before Father, then, that is what it is, an idol.

11:11-40 YHVH’S punishment.
11:11-40 YHVH’S PUNISHMENT. (Division.)
11:11-13 Threatening (diminution).

I Kings 11:11 Wherefore the LORD said unto Solomon, “Forasmuch as this is done of thee, and thou hast not kept My covenant and My statutes, which I have commanded thee, I will surely rend the kingdom from thee, and will give it to thy servant.   ->   Sadly for us, because of our forefather's--namely Solomon and his leading those under him--actions, our Nation is about to be ripped from one complete Nation into two separate and distinct Nations, or Houses: House of Israel and House of Judah.

This will not actually take place while Solomon is still alive; no, Father will bring it to pass after Solomon returns Home to Him; but, Father is surely telling him what He is going to do, and Solomon will live out the rest of his days knowing that his actions caused Father to be so angry, that He'll divide the kingdom and it'll never be the same.

I will surely rend=A rending I will rend. Dr. Bullinger calls this a polyptoton, and cites several other examples in Father's Word: "Seeing we saw" in Genesis 26:28; with which we can compare  "freely eat" of Genesis 2:16; "scarce gone out" of Genesis 27:30; "solemnly protest" of Genesis 43:3; "asked us straitly" and "could we certainly know" both in of Genesis 43:7; "came indeed down" in Genesis 43:20"not delivered us at all" in Exodus 5:23; "wilt surely wear away" in Exodus 18:18"shall plainly say" in Exodus 18:18; "hear attentively" in Job 37:2"promote thee to very great honour" =honouring I will honour thee in Numbers 22:17,37"altogether blessed" in the Hebrew is "blessing thou will blessed" in Exodus 24:10; "uttrerly destroyed" in Numbers 26:65; 30:12; and "altogether blessed" in Numbers 23:11; 24:10..

I Kings 11:12 Notwithstanding in thy days I will not do it for David thy father's sake: but I will rend it out of the hand of thy son.   ->   Here Father is telling Solomon the reason He won't divide the kingdom in two; it isn't for Solomon's sake; but, for his father David's sake. In other words, Father just told Solomon that though He had chosen him to be the third man king of Israel, and had Blessed him with more wealth and riches than any other flesh man, his father David was more honorable than he, and therefore, for his--David's--sake Father would hold the kingdom together until Solomon returns Home.

So, what will actually happen? The Nation will become divided into two Nations or Houses: the House of Israel which as we're about to learn--and know from our vantage point of present time and being able to read Father's Word of this history--will comprise of ten tribes, and will encompass all they lands they inherited upon entering into the Promised Land, these tribes include: Asher, Dan, Ephraim, Gad, Issachar, a sprinkling of Levi: the Priests, Manasseh, Naphtali, Reuben, Simeon, Zebulun. The House of Judah will comprise two plus tribes, and will encompass their lands which they inherited upon entering into the Promised Land, these tribes include: the tribes of Judah and Benjamin, the majority of the Levites: the Priesthood including the High Priest, and a sprinkling in of both Ephraim and Manasseh.

With the kingdom divided and the King line and Priest line both being in with the House of Judah, that means that the majority of the wealth of the Nation will also be in the House of Judah. This also means that the smaller of the two Houses has the bigger portion of the wealth.

I Kings 11:13 Howbeit I will not rend away all the kingdom; but will give one tribe to thy son for David My servant's sake, and for Jerusalem's sake which I have chosen.”   ->   This one tribe as I just explained, is the Tribe of Benjamin, the youngest son of Jacob, by his wife Rachel.

Even to our present day the Two Houses--Israel and Judah--remain divided and are two separate peoples, and no, the "Jews" really aren't all encompassing of all Israel; in fact, the only ones who can claim the title of "Jew" are those who are either of the Tribe of Judah, those of the House of Judah i.e. Judeans, Benjamites, certain of the Levites, Ephraimites and Manassehites, or those who were born in the territories of the tribes mentioned. Father dealt with each of the peoples of the two Houses separately, and the re-joining of these people back into one nation will not take place until Jesus Christ returns at the seventh and last trumpet to set up his kingdom right here on earth as can be read in Ezekiel 37.

11:14-40 Execution (adversaries).
11:14-40 EXECUTION (ADVERSARIES). (Introversion.)
11:40 Hadad.

I Kings 11:14 And the LORD stirred up an adversary unto Solomon, Hadad (mighty) the Edomite: he was of the king's seed in Edom.   ->   Brethren, remember what had happened between approximately 80-120/5 years previous? Prior to the time that the Nation had kings? They were ruled by judges, and every time a judge died and returned Home to Father, the people--pretty much like when Moses was up on Mount Sinai receiving the Ten Commandments from Father--went right back to their old forms of worship and idolatry, and every time they did, Father brought an adversary against them to make them call out to Him. We'll, that is exactly what is happening here, Father Blessed Solomon and the Nation, and Solomon and the People became fat and sassy--think Jeshurun of the Song of Moses in Deuteronomy 32--and they forgot Father, therefore Father is going to make them remember Him and call out to Him.

Hadad the Edomite=Who are the Edomites, the offspring of Esau, Jacob's brother, Isaac and Rebekah's oldest son. So this Hadad is an offspring of the royal seed, now coming against his brother so to speak.

Adversary=Check out this word "adversary" in your Strong's Concordance as, it is Hebrew word number H7854 - שׂטן, - śâṭân, pronounced - saw-tawn', and means: From H7853; an opponent; especially (with the article prefixed) Satan, the arch enemy of good: - adversary, Satan, withstand.. This is who our adversary is today and he will attack we Christians every chance he gets, because he wants us to turn from Father and to him. He wants us, not because he wants what's best for us or because he loves us; but, because he wants us to also rebel against Father. See, he thinks he can win the controversy between he and Father if he has all Father's other Children join onto is side. There's only one problem, and that problem is Father's Word, it is already written, including the ending of the controversy; and guess what? Father wins!

Hadad=A member of the royal house of Edom I Kings 11:14 and following. In his childhood he escaped the massacre under Joab, and fled with a band of followers into Egypt. Pharaoh, the predecessor of Solomon's father-in-law, treated him kindly, and gave him his sister-in-law in marriage. After David's death Hadad resolved to attempt the recovery of his dominion. He left Egypt and returned to his own country..

11:15-22 Cause.

I Kings 11:15 For it came to pass, when David was in Edom (map 2), and Joab the captain of the host was gone up to bury the slain (those Israelites who had died in the war with the Edomites), after he had smitten every male in Edom;   ->   As can be read in II Samuel 8:3-14, the Israelites--under first David and now Solomon--have garrisons throughout all the territories of Edom. It has been this way for 70 years or so, ever since the time that Joab the Commanding General of the Army under king David had slayed every male in Edom, thus defeating Edom; however, now a generation after David put Edom to tribute, Solomon is whoring after all his wives' false gods and idols, therefore Father is using this brother of Israel to come against them.

This was prophesy by Father through one--Balak--to Balaam about what would happen to Edom as can be read of in Numbers 24: Numbers 24:15 And he took up his parable, and said, “Balaam the son of Beor hath said, And the man whose eyes are open hath said:   ->   It was YHVH that opened Balaam’s eyes, just like it is YHVH that opened our eyes to the truth in His word. [24:16] He hath said, which heard the words of GOD, And knew the knowledge of the Most High, Which saw the vision of the ALMIGHTY, Falling into a trance, but having his eyes open:   ->   Have you heard the words of GOD and known the knowledge of the Most High? Yes, my loved ones, we are very fortunate to be the possessor of these. Most High=Is YHVH in His role as ELYON – ELYON is EL and Elohim, not as the powerful creator, but as “The possessor of heaven and earth.” Hence the name is associated with Christ as the Son of the Highest in Luke 1:35. It is ELYON, as possessor of the earth, Who divides the nations “their inheritance.” As can be read in Psalms 83:18, He is over all the earth. ELYON is the dispenser of God’s blessings in the earth: the blessings proceeding from a priest Who is a King upon His throne, with which we can compare with Genesis 14:18-22 and Zechariah 6:13 & 14:9.. Have we seen the vision of the ALMIGHTY? Again, you bet we are blessed enough that we have seen His vision. The ALMIGHTY is SHADDAI Who is God (EL) not as the source of strength but of grace; not as creator, but as giver. Shaddai is the All-Bountiful. This title does not refer to His creative power, but to His power to supply all the needs of His People. Shaddai is first used in Genesis 17:1 and is used to show Abraham that He Who called him out to walk alone before Him could supply all his need. Even so it is the title used in II Corinthians 6:18 where we are called to “come out” in separation from the world.. Yes, we are blessed enough to have heard the words of YHVH, know the knowledge of the ELYON and to see the vision of SHADDAI! We know His plan from the foundation of the world. We know what happened in the age that was, what is to transpire at the end of this age, in the millennium and have had that glimpse into the eternity. [24:17]I shall see Him, but not now: I shall behold Him, but not nigh: There shall come a Star out of Jacob, And a Sceptre shall rise out of Israel, And shall smite the corners of Moab, And destroy all the children of Sheth.   ->   Which star do you follow? Did you know there are two? There is the True Bright and Morning Star: Jesus; and then there is the false: satan, who wants to be Jesus. We can compare the two different stars in the following verses: Revelation 2:26 And he that overcometh, and keepeth My works until the end, to him will I give power over nations: [2:27] And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of My Father. [2:28] And I will give him the morning star.   ->   Here in this portion of Revelation 2, Jesus is talking to the church in Thyatira which is a church that has much works, but no charity--meaning love or compassion; no, not even enough to search out the deep things of Jesus or our Father, YHVH. But, Jesus is saying here that those in Thyatira, if they keep His works--meaning His teachings about the entire plan of YHVH from the foundation of the world, who the kenites are and what is to happen in these end days--then He will give them power over the first star to come; that is antichrist or satan. And then we read in Revelation 22:16 I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.   ->    Our Lord Jesus Christ now speaks to John, and there can be no mistake as to why He allowed John to see and witness all that is about to happen. That we may know what is to come and not be deceived, that it be taught in our churches. That we may know our Savior is the promised messiah, and our redeemer, and that we know the prophecies concerning His birth, and resurrection are true. If you have eyes to see and ears to hear, you will understand, by the work of the Holy Spirit. Then we have the fake; satan, and we can read about him in the following verses: Isaiah 14:12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer (day star), son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!. Also, Revelation 8:10 And a third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp (torch), and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters;   ->    This is the sounding of the third trumpet of God. Remember Luke 10:18 And I beheld Satan as lightening fall from heaven.   ->   As we just read, satan is called "the morning star" in Isaiah 14:12-16. This falling star is the devil, the "son of perdition". Satan reflects as an illuminated lamp and his "Illuminati" shining its lies out to the world, and is drawing his world-wide system together. Do you see it happening today? If you don't, you’re either blind, or in a convent. The news from all the media today covers only what is promoting the agenda of the United Nations, even then it is so distorted and full of lies it isn't worth the time to watch. The "shining ones" from the United Nations, which is part of the Illuminati, are given whatever authority of credit they need to carry on their murder, thievery, and attacks on the public at large. The "rivers" are waters, or nations, whereas the "fountains" are in reference to "the fountains of the living waters," which are the Christians whose fountains of living water flows from our Lord Jesus Christ. This burning by satan comes through his deception, and many Christians will be and are deceived by satan because they do not know the difference between the morning star ([satan), and the True Morning Star [Jesus Christ the Messiah]. All except God's elect, are going to be deceived. [8:11] And the name of the star is called Wormwood: and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter.   ->   Though satan may come looking like Christ and offer fountains of blessings, his fountains will give only bitterness. You may think it is clean, fresh and pure water – but, when you taste of that water, it is only acidic. When you drink of it and digest it, then it becomes poison to your very soul. This is why satan is called "wormwood" (a poison). One third of the world will become part of satan's system, and drink freely from the antichrist’s waters. Will you? Are you prepared to know the difference, or do you trust your soul to a pack of kenites. Many church denominations today are allowing changes to take place in their doctrines to allow for compromise with the world, and satanic doctrines. They allow for abominations such as sodomy to enter their house of worship and call it of God. The chief shepherd of their Luciferian dogma is the "World Council of Churches." When wormwood is allowed this to happen, those churches lose total sight of Our Lord's teachings. They become part of the type of Churches that we saw at Ephesus and Pergamos, from Revelation 2. Now let’s continue with our studying of Numbers 24. [24:18] And  Edom shall be a possession, Seir also shall be a possession for his enemies; And Israel shall do valiantly.   ->   Edom in the Strong’s, in Hebrew means red. Who is Edom? That is none other than the offspring of Esau the twin brother of Jacob the father of the twelve tribes. So these Edomites, the offspring of Esau and the land they occupy Idumea are going to fall prey to Israel. Who or what is Seir? In the Strong’s, in the Hebrew, Seir is word number H8165 - śê‛îyr, pronounced - say-eer'; and means: Formed like H8163; rough; Seir, a mountain of Idumaea and its aboriginal occupants, also one in Palestine: - Seir.. Now let’s look at H8163 - śâ‛îyr,  śâ‛ir, pronounced - saw-eer', saw-eer'; and means: From H8175; shaggy; as noun, a he goat; by analogy a faun: - devil, goat, hairy, kid, rough, satyr.. So again this prophesy from Father through Balaam is for both the time that was when Israel was going to and did defeat these offspring of Esau and for the future when Christ returns and defeats satan’s offspring and those that have allowed themselves to be deceived by him and his children during his reign here in this end time. [24:19] Out of Jacob shall come He that shall have dominion, And shall destroy him that remaineth of the city.’”   ->   Out of Jacob shall come=This is the prophesy of Jesus’ coming. He came 2000 years ago to be crucified, the slain Lamb of YHVH. He will come again during the second advent to defeat Father’s enemies while ruling with that rod of iron during that 1,000 millennial period prior to the eternity.

Beginning with the next verse and continuing for the next 10-11 verses, we'll be reviewing the history of what had happened when David was still king and his Commanding General Joab had slew all the males in Edom who had not fled as he was doing so.

I Kings 11:16 (For six months did Joab remain there with all Israel, until he had cut off every male in Edom:)   ->   Though this states "until he had cut off every male in Edom," certainly there were still men spread throughout Edom who had fled where Joab and his men were, in order to prevent being killed. We know this because as we'll read in the very next verse, one of the king's seed--Hadad--is still alive and is about to bring trouble against Israel. Remember, it is Father Who is using this Hadad to stir up trouble in Israel because of Solomon's leading the Nation to worship other false gods, the gods of his foreign wives.

Note also that this is a parenthetical verse, meaning that it was inserted to give a time line as to how long Joab was in Edom slaying all the males who had not fled.

I Kings 11:17 That Hadad fled, he and certain Edomites of his father's servants with him, to go into Egypt; Hadad being yet a little child.   ->   Hadad being yet a little child=Remember brethren, we are currently 20 plus years into Solomon's reign as king of Israel, and this Hadad's father's servants had taken him when he was still a child, and while David was still king of Israel, and Joab his Commanding General. So, he had been taken some 20 plus years previous, thus making him a youngish man now; though, don't let his age fool you as, it is Father who is about to give him his courage--he heard both David and Joab are dead--to come back to Edom and thus stir up dissent against Israel. Besides, and I ask you brethren, do you think Hadad forgot that Israel invaded and defeated his homeland? No, his anger and hatred has only grown with time, and now he's looking for revenge against Israel.

I Kings 11:18 And they arose out of Midian (strife), and came to Paran (ornamental; or peace of caverns): and they took men with them out of Paran, and they came to Egypt, unto Pharaoh king of Egypt; which gave him an house, and appointed him victuals, and gave him land.   ->   We're still reading of past history to Solomon's time here, and we see that, Hadad's father's servants--I'm sure some of these men were body guards and fighters as well--have taken this young Hadad for his own safety, left Edom, went to Midian for a some time, and then left Midian and came to Paran on their way to Egypt.

Paran was between the desert Sin, or Sinai and southern Israel. To get to Egypt they needed to cross the desert Sin, and unless you were familiar with doing so, it could cost you your life. So, while they were in Paran, they hired experienced men to escort them across the desert to Egypt.

Upon arriving in Egypt, pharaoh welcomed them into his house; remember, Hadad is royal seed and pharaoh is treating him as such. Also, pharaoh is figuring that, any enemy of Israel is a friend of mine; so, as the young Hadad grows, the pharaoh gives him his own house to live in, land around his house, plus food to sustain him. We'll also see in a minute that he will also give him to wife, his own wife's--the Queen Tahpenes--unnamed sister.

Midian=A son of Abraham and Keturah Genesis 25:2; I Chronicles 1:32, progenitor of the Midianites, or Arabians dwelling principally in the desert north of the peninsula of Arabia. Southward they extended along the eastern shore of the Gulf of Eyleh (Sinus AElaniticus ); and northward they stretched along the eastern frontier of Palestine. The "land of Midian," the place to which Moses fled after having killed the Egyptian Exodus 2:15,21, or the portion of it specially referred to, was probably the peninsula of Sinai. The influence of the Midianties on the Israelites was clearly most evil, and directly tended to lead them from the injunctions of Moses. The events at Shittim occasioned the injunction to vex Midian and smite them. After a lapse of some years, the Midianites appear again as the enemies of the Israelites, oppressing them for seven years, but are finally defeated with great slaughter by Gideon. [GIDEON ] The Midianites are described as true Arabs, and possessed cattle and flocks and camels as the sand of the seashore for multitude. The spoil taken in the war of both Moses and of Gideon is remarkable Numbers 31:22; Judges 8:21,24-26. We have here a wealthy Arab nation, living by plunder, delighting in finery; and, where forays were impossible, carrying ont he traffic southward into Arabia, the land of gold --if not naturally, by trade-- and across to Chaldea, or into the rich plains of Egypt..

Paran=A desert or wilderness, bounded on the north by Palestine, on the east by the valley of Arabah, on the south by the desert of Sinai, and on the west by the wilderness of Etham, which separated it from the Gulf of Suez and Egypt. The first notice of Paran is in connection with the invasion of the confederate kings Genesis14:6. The detailed itinerary of the children of Israel in Numbers 33:1 ... does not mention Paran because it was the name of a wide region; but the many stations in Paran are recorded, I Kings 17-36. and probably all the eighteen stations were mentioned between Hazeroth and Kadesh were in Paran. Through this very wide wilderness, from pasture to pasture as do modern Arab tribes, the Israelites wandered in irregular lines of march. This region through which the Israelites journeyed so long is now called by the name it has borne for ages --Bedu et-Tih , "the wilderness of wandering." ("Bible Geography," Whitney.) "Mount" Paran occurs only in two poetic passages Deuteronomy 33:2; Habakkuk 3:3. It probably denotes the northwestern member of the Sinaitic mountain group which lies adjacent to the Wady Teiran . (It is probably the ridge or series of ridges lying on the northeastern part of the desert of Paran, not far from Kadesh. --ED.).

I Kings 11:19 And Hadad found great favour in the sight of Pharaoh, so that he gave him to wife the sister of his own wife, the sister of Tahpenes the queen.   ->   As Hadad grew he did many good works for pharaoh, and all he did pleased pharaoh, enough so, that, as previously mentioned, he had given Hadad his own land and house, provided food and supplies for him, and now, he even gives to him his wife's sister to marry. In other words, pharaoh made Hadad part of his own family.

As Hadad was growing and came of age while he was in Egypt; in Israel Solomon also was growing, and was now his king of Israel. What was taking place and shaping-up in the two nations were two different scenarios; on the one hand we had Hadad in Egypt growing stronger; and on the other Israel was at the pinnacle of their power, but, because of Solomon's actions--i.e. his lust of the flesh and his worship of false gods and idols,--the Nation as a powerhouse in the reigon is about to take a fall. Remember though brethren, it is Father Who is working behind the scenes to bring this to pass. Father had told Solomon as He tells all of us in His Word; if you be hearers and doers of My Commandments, Judgments, Laws, Ordinances and Statutes, then will I Bless you beyond measure. Solomon and the Nation had received those Blessings; however, because their turning away from Father, He is about to take those Blessings back.

Remember also, He gives us Blessings in order that those who are not serving Him will see the Blessings of those who are, and will desire those Blessings in their lives and turn to Him, not seek them other places, in He only - so that they will know that He is YHVH, in His role of Elyon - The Most High, and the dispenser of His Blessings in the earth.

Tahpenes=An Egyptian queen, was wife of the Pharaoh who received Hadad the Edomite, and who gave him her sister in marriage I Kings 11:18-20..

I Kings 11:20 And the sister of Tahpenes bare him Genubath (theft) his son, whom Tahpenes weaned in Pharaoh's house: and Genubath was in Pharaoh's household among the sons of Pharaoh.   ->   The queen's sister bare Hadad a son whom they named Genubath, this boy--though not stated--was raised in pharaoh's house as one of the royal seed, thus elevating his to a status as one of pharaoh's sons.

This should remind you of two others in Father's Word who were raised this way--i.e. in pharaoh's household:--the first being Joseph, Joseph was a part of pharaoh's household after his brother's sold him to the Midianite merchantmen who were headed down to Egypt;, and the second was Moses, Moses was raised as pharaoh's son when the daughter of pharaoh found him floating down the Nile River in his little ark of bulrushes. Like Hadad here in I Kings 11, both Moses and Joseph were part of Father's plan for Israel, though in the case of Moses and Joseph, they were for good, with Hadad it is try and get Israel’s attention, and also as a correction.

Genubath=The son of Hadad, an Edomite of the royal family, by an Egyptian princess, the sister of Tahpenes, the queen of the Pharaoh who governed Egypt in the latter part of the reign of David I Kings 11:20, with which we can compare with I Kings 11:16..

I Kings 11:21 And when Hadad heard in Egypt that David slept with his fathers, and that Joab the captain of the host was dead, Hadad said to Pharaoh, “Let me depart, that I may go to mine own country.”   ->   News travels fast, especially when Father wants it to, as is the case here. Remember, Father is going to use Hadad as a correcting tool against Israel, therefore, He is going to ensure Hadad hears it rather quickly.

Upon hearing the news that both David and Joab are dead, Hadad wastes no time in going to pharaoh and asking his permission to leave Egypt and return home to his own country. Hadad figures that both David and Joab were the strength of Israel and with them being dead, Israel has to now be weaker and he'll have no problem defeating them and reclaiming his own homelands again, in doing so, it would also put him on his own throne as king of Edom which he inherited from his father.

His asking pharaoh to leave Egypt is not to say that pharaoh would forbid, nor that he had to ask permission; it's a matter of courtesy to pharaoh, since pharaoh has raised him since he was a child.

I Kings 11:22 Then Pharaoh said unto him, “But what hast thou lacked with me, that, behold, thou seekest to go to thine own country?” And he answered, “Nothing: howbeit let me go in any wise.”   ->   Pharaoh being king of Egypt, asks Hadad, why he would want to leave Egypt when he had it so well there, and other than Father laying it upon his heart to return and be an adversary against Israel, there is no real reason he should want to, as he has it made in Egypt, being a part of pharaoh's family.

11:23-25 Rezon.

I Kings 11:23 And God stirred him up another adversary, Rezon (prince) the son of Eliadah (YAH [is] knowing), which fled from his lord Hadadezer (Hadad [is his] help) king of Zobah (station):   ->   Hadad was from Edom which is south of Israel; this Rezon is from Zobah--part of Syria--which is north of Israel. So, Father is going to bring trouble from both the north and south of Israel at the same time, putting them right in the middle of two opposing forces. Solomon, whose name means "Peace," is about to find out that he'll have no peace the rest of his days in the flesh. It's his own fault, as he failed to live up to the conditions of the agreement.

If you'll recall from II Samuel 8, David--after having one of his greatest victories--had defeated and secured Zobah and the surrounding nations, let's review it: II Samuel 8:3 David smote also Hadadezer, the son of Rehob, king of Zobah, as he went to recover his border at the river Euphrates.    ->  Israel fought against all these same enemies during the time of their entering into the Promised Land—which, had they obeyed Father then and utterly destroyed them man, woman and child, they would never have had to fight again—during the time of the Judges, under Saul, then David and now again during Solomon’s reign. Up to this time Israel has pretty much had success over these enemies, now though, Father is going to use them to correct Solomon and Israel.  Again, if you’ll recall, Zobah is in the neighborhood of Damascus which of course is Syria. [8:4] And David took from him a thousand chariots, and seven hundred horsemen, and twenty thousand footmen: and David houghed all the chariot horses, but reserved of them for an hundred chariots.   ->   David houghed all the chariot horses= The word "houghed" means to "pluck-up," "hamstring" or "exterminate" something or someone, so in other words, it’s to take it for your own use, or to destroy. What really happened is most likely David destroyed all the horses that he didn't need in order to prevent them from falling into the hands of his enemies and then being used against him and his army. What they did back in the days of chariot use was, they would fasten or affix a long knife or sword approximately 18"-36" in length to each side of the axel of the chariot and then run the chariot through the foot soldiers in order to slice their legs off, so, rightfully so, many of foot soldiers feared seeing a chariot coming towards them. Seven hundred horseman=The translators erred when they tried translating this verse and we can read of the correction (7,000) in I Chronicles 18:4. The mistranslation happened most likely because at the time that this was originally written, the symbol and characters were Phoenician, and may be seen on the Moabite Stone. He Phoenician symbols and characters were in use until approximately 140 B.C., and, beginning then gradually changed to the Hebrew “square” characters and symbols. Because of the similarity of certain characters, symbols, letters and numbers, mistakes in copying frequently occurred. [8:5] And when the Syrians of Damascus came to succour Hadadezer king of Zobah, David slew of the Syrians two and twenty thousand men.   ->   Syrians of Damascus=There were allies of Hadadezer and Zobah, and what this is saying is that when Hadad's friends came to his rescue, or tried to anyway, David and the Israelite overcame them as well and killed of them 22,000. [8:6] Then David put garrisons in Syria of Damascus: and the Syrians became servants to David, and brought gifts. And the LORD preserved David whithersoever he went.   ->   David put military outposts in Syria to preserve Israel by keeping control of the people in these communities; but, also, so that a forward deployed unit could keep eye out for any who sought to try and sneak up on Israel. And the LORD preserved David=Here is why these verses are so important for you and I today: for, Father is either with you, or, He is against you. He was with David; however, He is against David’s son Solomon because Solomon—unlike his father—turned his back on Father. [8:7] And David took the shields of gold that were on the servants of Hadadezer, and brought them to Jerusalem.   ->   David started to collect tribute, i.e. taxes, from those peoples he saved alive in the surrounding communities. He started by taking immediate possession of their military belongings such as shields, helmets and other items which were made of precious metals, and, he'll at present put them in the treasury and later they'll be turned over to his metal smiths in order to make accessories for the temple. After he took possession of those items he then started a yearly tribute of money, metals, lumber or whatever else they might have that Israel have need of, that they'll be required to pay for his saving them alive. [8:8] And from Betah, and from Berothai, cities of Hadadezer, king David took exceeding much brass.   ->   David started collecting all these taxes from the surrounding nations because he  knew that after Father has given them peace all about them they'll build a permanant structure to worship Father in. [8:9] When Toi king of Hamath heard that David had smitten all the host of Hadadezer,   ->   Hamath=Whether spelled as it is here "Hamath," or—as found in some other places in Father's Word—"Hemath," it is still one-and-the-same, the home of the offspring of Cain, otherwise known as, the kenites. These kenites are pleased that David had defeated their enemy for them, in reality; David didn’t do it “for them,” but to secure his border. In either case, he should have been weary of these offspring of our enemy. [8:10] Then Toi sent Joram his son unto king David, to salute him, and to bless him, because he had fought against Hadadezer, and smitten him: for Hadadezer had wars with Toi. And Joram brought with him vessels of silver, and vessels of gold, and vessels of brass:   ->   Joram=We find this one's name in I Chronicles 18 spelled and pronounced "Hadoram." Hadoram is not a Hebrew name; but, of foreign derivation, so, my guess would be that somewhere along the line in the scribing of Father's Word, a kenite scribe changed the spelling of Hadoram's name here to "Joram" in order to confuse David and the readers of Father's Word to make it appear that this one is of Hebrew origin. But, staying focused, we find that, the king of the kenites had sent his son to salute and thank David by trying to pay David off with Silver, gold and brass. Maybe Hadadezer knew something concerning Toi and Hamath that David should have known. Notice also that Toi didn't try and join in with the Israelites in their fight against Hadadezer; no, they waited until the battle was over and then went to, and, sided with the victor. Pretty much the way 1/3 of Father's Children waited until the battle in the First Earth Age was fought, before joining sides, they too then sided with the victor. We can also see in this, a similarity or resemblance, to Joshua 9 when the forefathers of these same kenites watched Joshua and the Israelite army defeat all their enemy in the promised Land, they had come to Joshua and the elders of Israel "claiming" they came from far off and heard how Great YHVH was and what He was doing for the Israelites and they too wanted to worship Him so that they would be Blessed just like the Israelites. They might have fooled Joshua and the elders of Israel; however, they didn't fool Father for He knew and knows exactly who they are. And, if you Study Father's Word, He'll open your eyes so that you too can know. [8:11] Which also king David did dedicate unto the LORD, with the silver and gold that he had dedicated of all nations which he subdued;   ->   When these kenites tried to bribe David for peace, David didn't keep the money for himself; but, put it in with the other tribute monies he was collecting from all the nations around Israel. David was good in staying with the Lord; but, he allowed himself to be taking in by these salesmen from Hamath, and just as like in Joshua 9 when they first came to Joshua and the elders of Israel and they allowed them to stay, these kenites are now forever going to be imbedded with and mixed in with Israel until Jesus returns at the sounding of the seventh trump. [8:12] Of Syria, and of Moab, and of the children of Ammon, and of the Philistines, and of Amalek, and of the spoil of Hadadezer, son of Rehob, king of Zobah.   ->   David had subdued all these surrounding nations some 25-30 years previous; however, now Father has raised them again to come against Solomon. [8:13] And David gat him a name when he returned from smiting of the Syrians in the valley of salt, being eighteen thousand men.   ->   These were recorded as David’s exploits; however, once he became king, he himself didn’t go out and fight these battles, as a matter of fact, we can read in I Chronicles 18 that Abishai had his hand in the victory here in the Valley of Salt. [8:14] And he put garrisons in Edom; throughout all Edom put he garrisons, and all they of Edom became David's servants. And the LORD preserved David whithersoever he went.   ->   Just as David had put outposts in Syria, he also put garrisons and outposts here in Edom for Israel's protection. Some scholars say that this was an error; however, it was not, because, Edom was kin to the Israelites, as the Edomites were the offspring of Esau, the twin brother to Jacob. Notice where this commitment came from. "The LORD preserved David whithersoever he went." Though Israel’s army was used, it was YHVH, Father, Who protected David where ever he went. When you obey and do Father’s Commandments, Laws, Ordinances, and Statutes, He will go with you in your daily life, He will also protect you, and give you success in all you do. Therefore you should thank Him and tell Him that you love Him often. Again, Father protected David because David obeyed and was a doer of Father’s Commandments; Solomon is not, therefore Solomon is about to feel Father’s Judgment.

You do also remember the warning Father gave Solomon in I Kings 9:6-8 don't you? Let's review it: I Kings 9:6 But if ye shall at all turn from following Me, ye or your children, and will not keep My commandments and My statutes which I have set before you, but go and serve other gods, and worship them:   ->   But if...=Here is the condition for the turning away from following Father's Commandments, Judgments, Laws, Ordinances, and Statutes. It was a warning to Solomon, and as we’re seeing he failed to be a doer. [9:7] Then will I cut off Israel out of the land which I have given them; and this house, which I have hallowed for My name, will I cast out of My sight; and Israel shall be a proverb and a byword among all People:   ->   Just as Father had built up Solomon; likewise also, it is He Who will use Hadad and Rezon to perform the act of "cutting off Israel..." and so on. [9:8] And at this house which is high, every one that passeth by it shall be astonished, and shall hiss; and they shall say, ‘Why hath the Lord done thus unto this land, and to this house?’   ->    Sadly, today most Christians have no idea at all why Father did this to Solomon and Israel. In fact they have no idea that Israel was ever split, and they still consider the House of Israel as if it were one House: the Jews of the House of Judah. Even today, if you think that you can know the truth and understand Father’s Commandments and Statutes in His Word, and then turn your back on the precious truths of His Word, He will raise an adversary against you in order to bring you down.

Rezon=Son of Eliadah, a Syrian, who when David defeated Hadadezer king of Zobah, put himself at the head of a band of freebooters and set up a petty kingdom at Damascus I Kings 11:23. He harassed the kingdom of Solomon during his whole reign..

Eliadah=Father of Rezon, the captain of a marauding band that annoyed Solomon I Kings 11:23..

Hadadezer=Son of Rehob II Samuel 8:3, the king of the Aramite state of Zobah, who was pursued by David and defeated with great loss I Chronicles 18:3,4. After the first repulse of the Ammonites and their Syrian allies by Joab, Hadarezer sent his army to the assistance of his kindred the people of Maachah, Rehob and Ishtob I Chronicles 19:16; II Samuel 10:15, compare with II Samuel 10:8. Under the command of Shophach or Shobach, the captain of the host, they crossed the Euphrates, joined the other Syrians, and encamped at a place called Helam. David himself came from Jerusalem to take the command of the Israelite army. As on the former occasion, the route was complete..

Zobah=The name of a portion of Syria which formed a separate kingdom in the time of the Jewish monarchs Saul, David and Solomon. It probably was eastward of Coele-Syria, and extended thence northeast and east toward, if not even to, the Euphrates. We first hear of Zobah in the time of Saul, when we find it mentioned as a separate country, governed apparently by a number of kings who owned no common head or chief I Samuel 14:47. Some forty years later than this we find Zobah under a single ruler Hadadezer son of Rehob. He had wars with Toi king of Hamath II Samuel 8:10, and held various petty Syrian princes as vassals under his yoke II Samuel 10:19. David II Samuel 8:3, attacked Hadadezer in the early part of his reign, defeated his army, and took from him a thousand chariots, seven hundred (seven thousand) I Chronicles 18:4, horsemen and 20,000 footmen. Hadadezer's allies, the Syrians of Damascus, were defeated in a great battle. The wealth of Zobah is very apparent in the narrative of this campaign. A man of Zobah, Rezon son of Eliadah, made himself master of Damascus where he proved a fierce adversary to Israel all through the reign of Solomon I Kings 11:23-25. Solomon also was, it would seem engaged in a war with Zobah itself II Chronicles 8:3.This is the last that we hear of Zobah in Scripture. The name however, is found at a later date in the inscriptions of Assyria, where the kingdom of Zobah seems to intervene between Hamath and Damascus..

I Kings 11:24 And he gathered men unto him, and became captain over a band, when David slew them of Zobah: and they went to Damascus, and dwelt therein, and reigned in Damascus.   ->   This "he gathered men unto him" is speaking of Rezon from the previous verse. And what this is saying is that, as David was having his victory over Zobah, Rezon was rounding up the men who were still alive and fled to Damascus until it he had enough men and he felt it was safe for them to venture out.

Damascus=One of the most ancient and most important of the cities of Syria. It is situated 130 miles northeast of Jerusalem, in a plain of vast size and of extreme fertility, which lies east of the great chain of Anti-Libanus, on the edge of the desert. This fertile plain, which is nearly circular and about 30 miles in diameter, is due to the river Barada , which is probably the "Abana" of Scripture. Two other streams the Wady Helbon upon the north and the Awaj, which flows direct from Hermon upon the south, increase the fertility of the Damascene plain, and contend for the honor of representing the "Pharpar" of Scripture. According to Josephus, Damascus was founded by Uz grandson of Shem. It is first mentioned in Scripture in connection with Abraham Genesis 14:15, whose steward was a native of the place Genesis 15:2. At one time David became complete master of the whole territory, which he garrisoned with Israelites II Samuel 8:5,6. It was in league with Baasha, king of Israel against Asa I Kings 15:19; II Chronicles 16:3, and afterwards in league with Asa against Baasha I Kings 15:20. Under Ahaz it was taken by Tiglath-pileser II Kings 16:7,8,9, the kingdom of Damascus brought to an end, and the city itself destroyed, the inhabitants being carried captive into Assyria II Kings 16:9, compare with Isaiah 7:8 and Amos 1:5. Afterwards it passed successively under the dominion of the Assyrians, Babylonians, Persians, Macedonians, Romans and Saracens, and was at last captured by the Turks in 1516 A.D. Here the apostle Paul was converted and preached the gospel Acts 9:1-25.  Damascus has always been a great centre for trade. Its present population is from 100,000 to 150,000. It has a delightful climate. Certain localities are shown as the site of those scriptural events which specially interest us in its history. Queen's Street, which runs straight through the city from east to west, may be the street called Straight Acts 9:11. The house of Judas and that of Ananias are shown, but little confidence can be placed in any of these traditions..

I Kings 11:25 And he was an adversary to Israel all the days of Solomon, beside the mischief that Hadad did: and he abhorred Israel, and reigned over Syria.   ->   Reigned over Syria=As we read a few minutes ago from II Samuel 8, David had defeated and subdued Syria; however, now, because of Solomon's sinful nature and his causing all Israel to whore after his wives' false gods and idols, he has put it in a weakened state, and Rezon has now taken it back from Israel and he will continue to be a thorne in Solomon's side all the rest of Solomon's life.

Syria=Syria is the term used throughout our version for the Hebrew Aram , as well as for the Greek Zupia . Most probably Syria is for Tsyria , the country about Tsur or Tyre which was the first of the Syrian towns known to the Greeks. It is difficult to fix the limits of Syria. The limits of the Hebrew Aram and its subdivisions are spoken of under ARAM. Syria proper was bounded by Amanus and Taurus on the north by the Euphrates and the Arabian desert on the east, by Palestine on the south, by the Mediterranean near the mouth of the Orontes, and then by Phoenicia on the west. This tract is about 300 miles long from north to south, and from 50 to 150 miles broad. It contains an area of about 30,000 square miles. General physical features . --The general character of the tract is mountainous, as the Hebrew name Aram (from a roof signifying "height") sufficiently implies. The most fertile and valuable tract of Syria is the long valley intervening between Libanus and Anti-Libanus. Of the various mountain ranges of Syria, Lebanon possesses the greatest interest. It extends from the mouth of the Litany to Arka , a distance of nearly 100 miles. Anti-Libanus, as the name implies, stands lover against Lebanon, running in the same direction, i.e. nearly north and south, and extending the same length [LEBANON]. The principal rivers of Syria are the Litany and the Orontes. The Litany springs from a small lake situated in the middle of the Coele-Syrian valley, about six miles to the southwest of Baalbek. It enters the sea about five miles north of Tyre. The source of the Orontes is but about 15 miles from that of the Litany. Its modern name is the Nahr-el-Asi , or "rebel stream," an appellation given to it on account of its violence and impetuosity in many parts of its course. The chief towns of Syria may be thus arranged, as nearly as possible in the order of their importance: 1, Antioch; 2, Damascus; 3, Apamea; 4, Seleucia; 5, Tadmor or Palmyra; 6, Laodicea; 7, Epiphania (Hamath); 8, Samosata; 9, Hierapolis (Mabug); 10, Chalybon; 11, Emesa; 12, Heliopolis; 13, Laodicea ad Libanum; 14, Cyrrhus; 15, Chalcis; 16, Poseideum; 17, Heraclea; 18, Gindarus; 19, Zeugma; 20, Thapsacus. Of these, Samosata, Zeugma and Thapsacus are on the Euphrates; Seleucia, Laodicea, Poseideum and Heraclea, on the seashore, Antioch, Apamea, Epiphania and Emesa ( Hems ), on the Orontes; Heliopolis and Laodicea ad Libanum, in Coele-Syria; Hierapolis, Chalybon, Cyrrhus, Chalcis and Gindarns, in the northern highlands; Damascus on the skirts, and Palmyra in the centre, of the eastern desert. History. --The first occupants of Syria appear to have been of Hamitic descent --Hittites, Jebusites, Amorites, etc. After a while the first comers, who were still to a great extent nomads, received a Semitic infusion, while most Probably came to them from the southeast. The only Syrian town whose existence we find distinctly marked at this time is Damascus Genesis 14:1515:2, which appears to have been already a place of some importance. Next to Damascus must be placed Hamath Numbers 13:2134:8. Syria at this time, and for many centuries afterward, seems to have been broken up among a number of petty kingdoms. The Jews first come into hostile contact with the Syrians, under that name, in the time of David Genesis 15:18II Samuel 8:3,4,13. When, a few years later, the Ammonites determined on engaging in a war with David, and applied to the Syrians for aid, Zolah, together with Beth-rehob sent them 20,000 footmen, and two other Syrian kingdoms furnished 13,000 II Samuel 10:6. This army being completely defeated by Joab, Hadadezer obtained aid from Mesopotamia, ibid. ver. 16, and tried the chance of a third battle, which likewise went against him, and produced the general submission of Syria to the Jewish monarch. The submission thus begun continued under the reign of Solomon I Kings 4:21. The only part of Syria which Solomon lost seems to have been Damascus, where an independent kingdom was set up by Rezon, a native of Zobah I Kings 11:23-25. On the separation of the two kingdoms, soon after the accession of Rehoboam, the remainder of Syria no doubt shook off the yoke. Damascus now became decidedly the leading state, Hamath being second to it, and the northern Hittites, whose capital was Carchemish, near Bambuk , third [DAMASCUS]. Syria became attached to the great Assyrian empire, from which it passed to the Babylonians, and from them to the Persians, In B.C. 333 it submitted to Alexander without a struggle. Upon the death of Alexander, Syria became, for the first time the head of a great kingdom. On the division of the provinces among his generals, B.C. 321, Seleucus Nicator received Mesopotamia and Syria. The city of Antioch was begun in B.C. 300, and, being finished in a few years, was made the capital of Seleucus' kingdom. The country grew rich with the wealth which now flowed into it on all sides. Syria was added to the Roman empire by Pompey, B.C. 64, and as it holds an important place, not only in the Old Testament but in the New, some account of its condition under the Romans must be given. While the country generally was formed into a Roman province, under governors who were at first proprietors or quaestors, then procounsuls, and finally legates, there were exempted from the direct rule of the governor in the first place, a number of "free cities" which retained the administration of their own affairs, subject to a tribute levied according to the Roman principles of taxation; secondly, a number of tracts, which were assigned to petty princes, commonly natives, to be ruled at their pleasure, subject to the same obligations with the free cities as to taxation. After the formal division of the provinces between Augustus and the senate, Syria, being from its exposed situation among the province principis , were ruled by legates, who were of consular rank ( consulares ) and bore severally the full title of "Legatus Augusti pro praetore." Judea occupied a peculiar position; a special procurator was therefore appointed to rule it, who was subordinate to the governor of Syria, but within his own province had the power of a legatus. Syria continued without serious disturbance from the expulsion of the Parthians, B.C. 38, to the breaking out of the Jewish war, A.D. 66. in A.D. 44-47 it was the scene of a severe famine. A little earlier, Christianity had begun to spread into it, partly by means of those who "were scattered" at the time of Stephen's persecution Acts 11:19, partly by the exertions of St. Paul Galatians 1:21. The Syrian Church soon grew to be one of the most flourishing Acts 13:115:23,35,41 etc. (Syria remained under Roman and Byzantine rule till A.D. 634, when it was overrun by the Mohammedans; after which it was for many years the scene of fierce contests, and was finally subjugated by the Turks, A.D. 1517, under whose rule it still remains. --ED.).

11:26 Jeroboam

I Kings 11:26 And Jeroboam ([the] people will contend; or, whose people are many) the son of Nebat (aspect), an Ephrathite of Zereda (to pierce or puncture; or the fortress), Solomon's servant, whose mother's name was Zeruah (full breasted), a widow woman, even he lifted up his hand against the king.   ->   First Father laid it upon Hadad's heart being in the north to come and stir up trouble, then He also caused Rezon from the south to start causing trouble, and now we're seeing Jeroboam, one from within Israel also starting to stir up trouble. Father has a three-pronged attack coming against Solomon. Brethren do you see yet? First Assyria: the north, House of Israel; then Babylon: the south, House of Judah; now one from within: usurper in charge, the current occupier of 1600 Pennsylvania Ave, the one living amongst--but not of--the House of Israel.

Father told Solomon back in verse v11:11 what He would do if Solomon failed to be a hearer and doer: "Forasmuch as this is done of thee, and thou hast not kept My covenant and My statutes, which I have commanded thee, I will surely rend the kingdom from thee, and will give it to thy servant,". Father's always fulfills His Promises, and His Word always comes to pass exactly as He Speaks it, and it is Written.

Jeroboam=Notice the difference between the Strong's Concordance and the Smith's Bible Dictionary in what Jeroboam's name means? I like the Smith's better; and, it actually fits better with him in the fact that he received the larger portion of the tribes.

Ephrathite=Ephrathite as in I Samuel 1:1; not, a Bethlehemite as in Ruth 1:2. Zealous therefore for his tribe as against Judah, see Ephraim and Judah were always in contention and jealous of each other because Judah--as deliniated in Genesis 49--would always carry the sceptre and rule over Israel; however, Ephraim--behind their brother Manasseh--was the second largest tribe in Israel.

Jeroboam=The first king of the divided kingdom of Israel, was the son of an Ephraimite of the name of Nebat. He was raised by Solomon to the rank of superintendent over the taxes and labors exacted from the tribe of Ephraim I Kings 11:28. He made the most of his position, and at last was perceived by Solomon to be aiming at the monarchy. He was leaving Jerusalem, when he was met by Ahijah the prophet, who gave him the assurance that, on condition of obedience to his laws, God would establish for him a kingdom and dynasty equal to that of David I Kings 11:29-40. The attempts of Solomon to cut short Jeroboam's designs occasioned his flight into Egypt. There he remained until Solomon's death. After a year's longer stay in Egypt, during which Jeroboam married Ano, the elder sister of the Egyptian queen Tahpenes, he returned to Shechem, where took place the conference with Rehoboam [REHOBOAM], and the final revolt which ended in the elevation of Jeroboam to the throne of the northern kingdom. Now occurred the fatal error of his policy. Fearing that the yearly pilgrimages to Jerusalem would undo all the work which he effected, he took the bold step of rending the religious unity of the nation, which was as yet unimpaired, asunder. He caused two golden figures of Mnevis, the sacred calf, to be made and set up at the two extremities of his kingdom, one at Dan and the other at Bethel. It was while dedicating the altar at Bethel that a prophet from Judah suddenly appeared, who denounced the altar, and foretold its desecration by Josiah, and violent overthrow. The king, stretching out his hand to arrest the prophet, felt it withered and paralyzed, and only at the prophet's prayer saw it restored, and acknowledged his divine mission. Jeroboam was at constant war with the house of Judah, but the only act distinctly recorded is a battle with Abijah, son of Rehoboam, in which he was defeated. The calamity was severely felt; he never recovered the blow, and soon after died, in the 22d year of his reign II Chronicles 13:20, and was buried in his ancestral sepulchre I Kings 14:20..

Nebat=The father of Jeroboam I Kings 11:2612:2,15 etc., is described as an Ephrathite or Ephraimite of Zereda..

Ephrathite=An inhabitant of Bethlehem Ruth 1:2. An Ephraimite I Samuel 1:1I Kings 11:26..

Zereda=The native place of Jeroboam I Kings 11:26. Zereda or Zeredah has been supposed to be identical with Zeredathah and Zarthan or Zartanah; but the last two were in the valley of the Jordan, while Zeredah was, according to the repeated statement of the LXX., on Mount Ephraim..

Zeruah=The mother of Jeroboam the son of Nebat I Kings 11:26. Zeruah was the mother of Jeroboam / ירבעם,. "Jeroboam was the son of Nebat / נבט, a member of the Tribe of Ephraim of Zereda, whose mother's name was Zeruah, a widow.".

11:27-40 Cause.

I Kings 11:27 And this was the cause that he lifted up his hand against the king: Solomon built Millo (a rampart [as filled in]; or, a mound), and repaired the breaches of the city of David his father.   ->   As we read back in I Kings 9:15 Solomon had built Millo in order to strengthen the defense of Jerusalem. Millo had been part of the original Jebusite city, or the filling up between Jebus and Moriah. In the future, Hezekiah will re-strengthen it.

Repaired the breaches=Don't let this throw you brethren as, it is not as it sounds, i.e. like there was a war and holes were blown in the walls, or parts of it were knocked down and needed repairing. What this verse is actually saying is that when the Israelites had defeated the Jebusites and inhabited the land, they built walls around the city they did not initially include the Temple Mount; Solomon noticed this error and when he was busy building all his desire to build, he then moved the wall so that in now included the Temple Mount.

Millo=A place in ancient Jerusalem. Both name and place seem to have been already in existence when the city was taken from the Jebusites by David II Samuel 5:9I Chronicles 11:8.  Its repair or restoration was one of the great works for which Solomon raised his "levy" I Kings 9:15,2411:27, and it formed a prominent part of the fortifications by which Hezekiah prepared for the approach of the Assyrians II Chronicles 32:5. The last passage seems to show that "the Milo" was part of the "city of David," that is, of Zion compare with II Kings 12:20..

I Kings 11:28 And the man Jeroboam was a mighty man of valour: and Solomon seeing the young man that he was industrious, he made him ruler over all the charge of the house of Joseph.   ->   Brethren, many years in the future to this time, when Father is walking in the flesh as His only begotten Son Jesus Christ, the chief priest, elders, scribes etc. will ask Him many questions, and He'll respond by asking them "have ye not read?" Well I'm going to occasion a little bit and use our point of view from 2,000+ years in the future, looking back on our history; and I'll do that by looking a few years into the future to this time. See, to understand better as to why Jeroboam is going to be a contender against Solomon we have to understand what is actually taking place here. Solomon recognized--"seeing the young man was industrious, he made him ruler...house of Joseph,"--just how hard working Jeroboam was. He noticed this because while he had his building appetite and was doing all the construction in Israel, plus now with all the construction still going on in the Nation by way of a taxation--read that, forced labor,--he does indeed see Jeroboam being very industrious, therefore he is going to set Jeroboam as a taskmaster over his own brethren, over the house of Joseph.

So, now, under Solomon’s hand on Jeroboam, the men of the tribe of Ephraim were given more laborious hard work, this in and of itself is going to lead to trouble because, it isn’t that they don’t necessarily like hard work, it’s the manner in which they’ll have to continue to perform--much as their forefathers did in Egypt--under the hand bearing a whip, which is what Solomon will require of Jeroboam. We know this because of what we read in our next chapter I Kings 12: I Kings 12:10 And the young men that were grown up with him spake unto him,--these are Solomon's son's counselors speaking to Solomon's son Rehoboam--saying, Thus shalt thou speak unto this people that spake unto thee, saying, Thy father—Solomon—made our yoke heavy, but make thou it lighter unto us; thus shalt thou say unto them, My little finger shall be thicker than my father's loins. [12:11] And now whereas my father did lade you with a heavy yoke, I will add to your yoke: my father hath chastised you with whips, but I will chastise you with scorpions.   ->   Solomon made life for his brethren of the House of Israel almost unbearable with his taxation, it got to the point that he had to have his taskmasters use whips on the people because the burden was so great. The people understood Jeroboam's predicament under Solomon, and therefore they held no grudge against him, only Solomon, and in the future his son Rehoboam also because, he’ll use those scorpions, i.e. whips with metal barbs on the ends. Of course this is all part of Father’s plan to divide the Nation into two separate Houses. It wasn't that Father wanted to divide Israel; but, that in doing so, He was hoping they--the two separate Nations--would turn and again worship Him alone and He could bring them back together. Sadly--as we know--that isn't what happened, the House of Israel while in captivity to the Assyrians only continued to turn away from Him, therefore He scatted them to the four corners of the wind so to speak, in reality, they went up over the Caucasus Mountains and formed Europe.

I Kings 11:29 And it came to pass at that time when Jeroboam went out of Jerusalem, that the prophet Ahijah (brother [that is, worshipper] of YAH; or, friend of YAH) the Shilonite (this is just saying that Ahijah was from Shiloh) found him in the way; and he had clad himself with a new garment; and they two were alone in the field:   ->   Not long after Jeroboam left Solomon and Jerusalem to return to his tasking, than Father's prophet Ahijah appeared to him. Ahijah was a prophet who served in Shiloh. Shiloh if you'll recall was where Joshua had set-up the Tabernacle and the Ark while they subdued the people in the lands before them, before moving into the Promised Land. We'll see later--when we come to I Kings 14--that this same Ahijah will rebuke Jeroboam because of the idolatry that he bring into and allow to flourish in the House of Israel. Anyway, Ahijah met Jeroboam when he was off in a field alone, and that's where this took place.

New garment=Ahijah is has donned a new garment, and we can look at this as a symbolical gesture of a "new set-up," in other words, something new is about to come to pass in Israel. It will be the tearing apart of this new garment that will represent exactly what is about to happen to Solomon's kingdom of Israel. With this garment being symbolical of Israel and the garment being on Father's Prophet, this is showing us that Israel is Father's to do as He pleases, and right now it is going to please Him to tear the Nation apart because of their idolatry.

Ahijah=A prophet of Shiloh I Kings 14:2, hence called the Shilonite here in I Kings 11:29, of whom we have two remarkable prophecies extant, the one in I Kings 11:30-39 addressed to Jeroboam, announcing the rending of the ten tribes from Solomon; the other in I Kings 14:6-16 in which he foretold the death of Abijah, the king's son, who was sick, and the destruction of Jeroboam's house on account of the images which he had set up I Kings 14:2,3..

The Shilonite=That is, the native or resident of Shiloh; a title ascribed only to Ahijah I Kings 11:29; 12:15; 15:29; II Chronicles 9:29; 10:15..

I Kings 11:30 And Ahijah caught the new garment that was on him (himself, and not on Jeroboam), and rent it in twelve pieces:   ->   After appearing to Jeroboam and introducing himself, to Jeroboam's surprise, Ahijah grabs ahold of his new raiment and tears it into twelve pieces--one piece representing each of the twelve Tribes of Israel,--and this is how we know it was symbolical of the House of Israel.

I Kings 11:31 And he said to Jeroboam, “Take thee ten pieces: for thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel, ‘Behold, I will rend the kingdom out of the hand of Solomon, and will give ten tribes to thee:   ->   Behold=Dr.Bullinger points out in his Companion Notes to Psalms 133:1 that the word "behold" is the Word spoken by the Holy Spirit; as "yeah" is the Word spoken by Father Himself; as "verily" is the Word spoken by our Lord Jesus Christ. So, just about every time you see these three words spoken\written in Father's Word, you can grasp Whom the speaker of them is. As is the case here in this verse v11:31: "Behold I will rend..." this Father speaking in His role of the Holy Spirit and He is telling Jeroboam through His Prophet Ahijah that He is going to tear the Nation Israel into twelve pieces, being made up of Two separate Houses, one--the House of Israel--containing ten Tribes, and the other--the House of Judah--containing two Tribes.

The Nation divided into two Houses as of this time--i.e. Solomon's death--and not ever brought back together again while in the Flesh Age of man; however, as can be read in Ezekiel 37:16-28 the two "sticks" will again be made to be as one one the first day of Jesus' 1,000 Millennial reign.

Paul told us in the New Testament that every thing that had happened to our forefathers was to be an example that we could learn from: I Corinthians 10:11 Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.   ->   In other words, Father allowed our forefathers to go through their trials and  tribulations, their worshipping their false traditions and man-made doctrines, their whoring after all the false gods of all the heathen and pagan nations around them, in order to show you how He operates, what He will put up with, and those things that He will not tolerate. If you want His continual Blessings for your life, then you need to not be messing around with the traditions of men, and every one of those other forms of man-made idolatry in religions.

I Kings 11:32 (But he shall have one tribe for My servant David's sake, and for Jerusalem's sake, the city which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel:)   ->   Did you notice this verse was completely enclosed in a parenthesis? This was added because it was necessary to explain in detail the who, why, and how.

But he=This is referring to Solomon and then down to his sons and grandsons, in other words--not because of Solomon, but, because of David--Father will ensure that one of his seed will always sit upon the throne. This is still in effect today as, the lineage of the queen of England traces all the way back to David, and thus continues in her seedline today in her sons and their children, and continues all the way to the True King, Jesus Christ: KING of kings and LORD of lords.

Shall have one tribe=Solomon and then his sons will have--obviously--Judah, and one tribe with them. It will be Benjamin; however, in the future, several small bands of some of the other tribes join onto them; namely, the Priesthood: Levi, and then a sprinkling in of both Ephraim and Manasseh.

Jerusalem=Jerusalem is Father's favorite city in all His created universe. We know this because He states so, He even took her to wife in Ezekiel 16; however, sadly our forefathers again committed whoredoms and Father had to write her a Bill of Divorcement as outlined in Jeremiah 3. Jerusalem is where Jesus will return for His Second Advent described in Zechariah 14 and where Father will reign during the eternity as told in Revelation 21.

I Kings 11:33 Because that they have forsaken Me, and have worshipped Ashtoreth the goddess of the Zidonians, Chemosh the god of the Moabites, and Milcom the god of the children of Ammon, and have not walked in My ways, to do that which is right in Mine eyes, and to keep My statutes and my judgments, as did David his father.   ->   Here Father is explaining in detail the why He is dividing the Nation.

Did you pay attention as to the reason? Because Solomon led the Nation and the Priests and People allowed him and  themselves to be led in the worship of false gods and idols. They worshipped ashtoreth, chemosh and milcom. Our Father is a Jealous God and He does not like to be forsaken and kicked to the curb in favor of other false gods. How does He feel about it? Exodus 23:13 And in all things that I have said unto you be circumspect: and make no mention of the name of other gods, neither let it be heard out of thy mouth.   ->   He doesn't even want us to mention the names of false gods, in a positive manner. He is not saying that we cannot mantion them, just not in a positive way or manner. Not in worship, not in praise, not in glorifying, or lifting up.

I don't think, or believe you were paying attention. Why do I say this? I'll ask you a question: What holiday do you celebrate during the spring? If you are a Christian, you most likely celebrate an abomination according to Father and you are going against Exodus 23:13. My bet would be that you do not celebrate the Holiday He said we were to always hold dear to our hearts and celebrate year-after-year passing down to our children: Passover, that's right, not that other celebration, the one Christians say is about the "resurrection." Father never said to celebrate His resurrection, He never said we were supposed to change His Celebration, and it is His Celebration, after all He died and shed His blood, and it is His Blood which covers our sins, not His resurrection! If you celebrate His resurrection, you're saying you didn't believe He would, so now that He indeed had resurrected, you have to celebrate the fact, brethren, that's called living by sight and not faith.

Father’s Passover, and I say it’s Father’s because He says it is His in Exodus 12:27: Exodus 12:26 And it shall come to pass, when your children say unto you, 'What mean ye this service?'   ->   There is going to come a time in the future when your children are going to ask you "why you are observing the Passover?", and it is then, that, you shall reply, "because it is the LORD'S Passover". There is even going to come a time when every other Christian who is observing "easter" while you observe the LORD'S Passover, that, they will ask you why you are observing the Passover and not "easter," and, you shall say to them, "It is the LORD'S Passoverwe have no right to change itto rename itto change the date we are to celebrate itnor to change from serving our GOD to serving the false gods and idols like ishtar. [12:27] Exodus 12:27 That ye shall say, "It is the sacrifice of the LORD's PassoverWho passed over the houses of the children of Israel in Egyptwhen He smote the Egyptiansand delivered our houses." And the people bowed the head and worshipped.   ->   Father knew that there was going to come a day when His children would forsake Him, it had happened in the past during satan's rebellion in the first earth age, so it was no surprise to Him that is was going to happen again and He wanted these children - the seedline through which He Himself would come in the flesh, to keep this and pass it down to their children, in order to show the rest of His children - all the other races how to serve and worship Him. Before I digress too far, let’s continue where I was: Father’s Passover was the time when the death angel passed over all those who had obeyed Father and placed the blood of the lamb on the upper door post and two side door posts, and now today we have the anointing of the only true Lamb slain for the sins of the world. When you are under the blood of Christ, our enemy satan--the death angel--must pass over you, for you are a believer in Christ. To turn that special Holy day into a feast day of idolatry of wicked rituals, is as bad, or worse than what Solomon did, and Father condemned both Solomon and all Israel for that wickedness. There is a great need for discipline for Christians today, and it Christians had better wake up.

If this offends you and the “man’s” traditions you hold dear in your church, then you need to do yourself a favor and pick-up Father's Word, open it and Study it for yourself. You need to dig past those traditions you've been taught since childhood, or possibly even as an adult, and Study a little deeper and harder to find out what Truly Pleases Father, and what He hates. Yes there are things that Father hates--see Malachi 1:1-3 and Romans 9:10-13, and Proverbs 6 and following--and those things are the things which go against the teachings of His Word.

I Kings 11:34 Howbeit I will not take the whole kingdom out of his hand: but I will make him prince (H5387 - נשׂא    נשׂיא, - nâśı̂y',  nâśi', pronounced - naw-see', naw-see', and means: From H5375; properly an exalted one, that is, a king or sheik.) all the days of his life for David My servant's sake, whom I chose, because he kept My commandments and My statutes:   ->   Father is not going to remove Solomon from off the throne nor bring Solomon Home early, He'll allow him to stay on the throne as king over the entire House of Israel until the 40th year of his reign. Forty means probation and that is the number of years both Saul and David reigned as king as well.

Father isn't removing Solomon for his sake; but, because his father David's. Because David never turned to serve other false gods, he keep Father's Commandments, Judgments, Laws, Ordinances, and Statutes. Again, yes, David made his mistakes--we all do;--but, he always Loved and Served Father only.

I Kings 11:35 But I will take the kingdom out of his son's hand, and will give it unto thee, even ten tribes.   ->   I will take=Notice it is Father Who causes this to happen, in reality it was Israel and their idolatry; same as us brethren, it isn't Father Who Judges us at the Great White Throne Seat of Judgment, it is we ourselves and our actionsHe only passes sentence.

Father is going to give two tribes: Judah and Benjamin and the Priesthood, the Levites to Rehoboam, and ten tribes: Reuben, Simeon, Asher, Joseph--i.e. Ephraim and Manasseh,--Issachar, Zebulun and Dan to Jeroboam. This will be fulfilled in our next chapter I Kings 12:16-20.

I Kings 11:36 And unto his son (Rehoboam) will I give one tribe, that David My servant may have a light alway before Me in Jerusalem, the city which I have chosen Me to put My name there.   ->   That David My servant may have a light alway before Me=This points back to both II Samuel 21, and Genesis 15; so, let's review both of those: II Samuel 21:17 But Abishai the son of Zeruiah succoured him, and smote the Philistine, and killed him. Then the men of David sware unto him, saying, “Thou shalt go no more out with us to battle, that thou quench not the light of Israel.”   ->   After Abishai saved his uncle's life by stepping between he—David—and the giant and slaying the giant, all the other warriors then came together to tell David that, this was his last battle, he  can no longer join in, he must now stay behind and allow his Army to take care of business. Quench not the light of Israel=This is a beautiful saying of David, as, it will be through his loins that The Light of the  World: The Messiah, Jesus Christ will be born. As we'll see, this also refers back to Genesis 15:17 when Abram was being told by Father what would become of his offspring, of which he had none yet: Genesis 15:17 And it came to pass, that when the sun went down, and it was dark, behold a smoking furnace, and a burning lamp that passed between those pieces.   ->   A burning lamp=Though spoken and prophesied by Father over 500 years earlier David Had become “The Light,” symbolic of Israel’s Deliverance. Genesis 15:17 points directly to II Samuel 21:17, here in I Kings 11:36, and future to this writing, in I Kings 15:4; and Isaiah 62:1, first I Kings 15:4-5: I Kings 15:4 Nevertheless for David's sake did the LORD his God give him a lamp in Jerusalem, to set up his son after him, and to establish Jerusalem: [15:5] Because David did that which was right in the eyes of the LORD, and turned not aside from any thing that he commanded him all the days of his life, save only in the matter of Uriah the Hittite., and now Isaiah 62:1: Isaiah 62:1 For Zion's sake will I not hold my peace, and for Jerusalem's sake I will not rest, until the righteousness thereof go forth as brightness, and the salvation thereof as a lamp that burneth.. We can also look to the New Testament in John 8:12: John 8:12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.  ->  He that followeth me...shall have the light of life=This is The Divine Purpose, that we all have eternal life with our Father; sadly, however, we know that this isn't going to happen as, if none else, the 7,000 fallen angels go into the Lake of Fire on the first day of the Millennium and satan also on the last day of the Millennium during the Great White Throne satan will and all those who follow him will also be cast into the Lake of Fire. What a sad thing for Father to know that He'll have to destroy some of His Children, He'll have to live with that memory forever; but, we whow have eternal life with Him, will not.

I Kings 11:37 And I will take thee (Jeroboam), and thou shalt reign according to all that thy soul desireth, and shalt be king over Israel.   ->   Father has just shown Ahijah, Jeroboam and us that He is the "kardioknower, or G2589 - καρδιογνώστης, - kardiognōstēs, pronounced - kar-dee-og-noce'-tace" i.e. the knower of the hearts of man, as He just told Jeroboam that He knows it was Jeroboam desire to rule as king over Israel. Father isn't chastising Jeroboam for this, just acknowledging a fact.

Jeroboam will rule as king over the northern kingdom, the House of Israel, while Rehoboam--Solomon's son--will rule as king over the southern kingdom, the House of Judah.

I Kings 11:38 And it shall be, if thou wilt hearken unto all that I command thee, and wilt walk in My ways, and do that is right in My sight, to keep My statutes and My commandments, as David My servant did; that I will be with thee, and build thee a sure house, as I built for David, and will give Israel unto thee.   ->   If=Notice the condition here brethren. Jeroboam's father Solomon knew the condition, he even stated so during his prayer, you know, at the same time he acknowledged that Father is the kardioknower, back in I Kings 8.

And build thee a sure house=Check this "house" out in the Strong's brethren, as it is Hebrew word number H1004 - בּית, - bayith, pronounced - bah'-yith, and means: Probably from H1129 abbreviated; a house (in the greatest variation of applications, especially family, etc.): - court, daughter, door, + dungeon, family, + forth of, X great as would contain, hangings. home[born], [winter]house (-hold), inside(-ward), palace, place, + prison, + steward, + tablet, temple, web, + within (-out).. So, in other words, Father is going to build Jeroboam a long, unbroken line of descendants, if he'll be a hearer, and more importantly, a doer of Father's Commandments, Judgments, Laws, Ordinances, and Statutes, the same conditions He places on every one of us, His Children. Sadly, Jeroboam, like his father Solomon, will not live up to, or keep the condition.

Again, from our perspective here 3,000 years in the future to this time, and reading of the history of our forefathers, we know that Jeroboam--afraid that if the Israelites went back to Jerusalem to worship, wouldn't return--built golden calves for the House of Israel to worship at. He built two, one in Dan and the other in Samaria. He completely stopped serving Father when he did so, and he also created own feasts--in the 8th month,--and appointed his own priests: non-Levites.

I Kings 11:39 And I will for this afflict the seed of David, but not for ever.’”   ->   Not for ever=The two sticks will be re-joined on the first day of Jesus' Millennium; however, this does confirm the prophesy of Genesis 49:10 i.e. "the sceptre shall not depart from Judah," which refers to the tribal pre-eminence of Judah (not the National existence), which was preserved until fulfilled in the birth of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, when David's line thus ended in Him.

I Kings 11:40 Solomon sought therefore to kill Jeroboam. And Jeroboam arose, and fled into Egypt, unto Shishak king of Egypt, and was in Egypt until the death of Solomon.   ->   When Solomon heard of Father’s plan and promise to Jeroboam, he felt it a threat to his family’s rule; therefore, he naturally wanted Jeroboam dead. See, Father’s taking ten tribes away from Israel would reduce Solomon’s kingdom to nothing more than a county sized government by today's standards, and Solomon—accustomed to ruling over the entire Nation—felt it a direct threat to his sovereign dominion.

Egypt=This assists in explaining quite a bit concerning Jeroboam as, he must have remembered the stories of how Joseph was treated when he was sold to the kenties who then sold him to Egypt, or he could have been remembering the Blessing pronounced on Ephraim in Genesis 48:13-20 and 49:22-26, or maybe Deuteronomy 33:13-17: Deuteronomy 33:13 And of Joseph he said, “Blessed of the LORD be his land, for the precious things of heaven, for the dew, and for the deep that coucheth beneath,   ->   "Joseph" in the Hebrew means "increase," in other words, to be prosperous. These are the blessings of the Abrahamic Covenant; they were not passed on to all the Israelites; but, unto the two sons of Joseph. This can be read of in—as stated above—Genesis 48:13-20, I’ll pick it up in verse v48:17: Genesis 48:17 And when Joseph saw that his father laid his right hand upon the head of Ephraim, it displeased him: and he held up his father's hand, to remove it from Ephraim's head unto Manasseh's head. [48:18] And Joseph said unto his father, "Not so, my father: for this is the firstborn; put thy right hand upon his head. [48:19] And his father refused, and said, "I know it, my son, I know it: he also shall become a people, and he also shall be great: but truly his younger brother shall be greater than he, and his seed shall become a multitude of nations. [48:20] And he blessed them that day, saying, "In thee shall Israel bless, saying `God make thee as Ephraim and as Manasseh:' and He set Ephraim before Manasseh.. [33:14] And for the precious fruits brought forth by the sun, and for the precious things put forth by the moon,   ->   This has reference to and is talking about natural agriculture, i.e. the bringing forth of their fruit of the produce and crops in their season of every year. These blessings of your crops are something that you can count on all the time, and in season when you plant the seed and harvest the crops. Notice "put forth by the moon," for many farmers today even plant their crops by the season and plant by the moon. The moon controls the tides and underground waters. [33:15] And for the chief things of the ancient mountains, and for the precious things of the lasting hills,   ->   Joseph was very special to Father, and He passed all the Abrahamic covenant promises that were passed from Abraham to Isaac, and on to Jacob; and now to Joseph's two sons: Ephraim and Manasseh. Joseph was to have a double portion and His two sons would both be the father of tribes with their peoples being great nations. [33:16] nd for the precious things of the earth and fulness thereof, and for the good will of him that dwelt in the bush: let the blessing come upon the head of Joseph, and upon the top of the head of him that was separated from his brethren.   ->   The one Who "dwelt in the fiery bush" was Father. He will bring the good will to these two tribes and the nations that they grow into. The "one who was separated from his brethren" was Joseph when his brothers sold him into slavery. This is why these promised contracts of Father's covenant still hold good to our generation. Joseph was sold into slavery because he was the favorite son of his father Jacob, and because of the dreams that he had. In those dreams his brothers and father and mother were bowing down to him. The dream caused the act of selling Joseph, while it also provided the way for survival for the whole family when the famine came over the land of Canaan where they dwelt. Father Blessed Joseph in those ancient days, as he is also Blessing the offspring of Joseph's two sons in the British people (Ephraim), as well as our nation in the United States (Manasseh). Brethren, wake up and apply the Blessings that Father promised to us in these end times and these tribes could only be the Great Brittan and the United States. Just as Joseph ruled over all of Egypt as far as the control is concerned, so also the entire world today seeks stabilizing of their economies through the wealth and monetary systems of our two nations. Joseph was there when his family was on the verge of starvation, and the enemies were on their doorsteps, and the United States and England are there also when the nations of the other tribes call out for our help. There is a reason that God blessed us so much, and just as He blessed us, He expects our commitment to our brethren and to His Word. Father always keeps His Word. [33:17] His glory is like the firstling of his bullock, and his horns are like the horns of unicorns: with them he shall push the people together to the ends of the earth: and they are the ten thousands of Ephraim, and they are the thousands of Manasseh.   ->   This is the promise of the Blessings of the first born which was bestowed upon Ephraim and Manasseh alike. Though Ephraim will out-number Manasseh, Manasseh shall be the one to push his people to the ends of the earth, and there they will have the power of the "unicorns." The "unicorn" that is stated here is translated to this mythical animal, when in the text is merely states a sure footed animal such as a rhinoceros, or buffalo. The blessing given to Ephraim of becoming a multitude of nations is clearly seen in Great Britain, and their commonwealth, as well as in many of the nations of northern Europe. But what about Joseph’s older son, Manasseh, and the blessing of becoming a great nation? In Genesis 49 the birthright blessings for Joseph included: Genesis 49:22 Joseph is a fruitful bough, even a fruitful bough by a well; whose branches run over the wall: [49:23] The archers have sorely grieved him, and shot at him, and hated him: [49:24] But his bow abode in strength, and the arms of his hands were made strong by the hands of the mighty God of Jacob; (from thence is the shepherd, the stone of Israel:)   ->   Of course the blessings given to Joseph would be divided between Ephraim and Manasseh. Note that Joseph would be “the shepherd, the stone of Israel.” We already know about Ephraim, so where is this great nation of Manasseh? The primary emblem of Manasseh is the “Olive Branch,” which stands for peace. Manasseh’s secondary emblem is the “Bundle of Arrows,” which stands for war. It would stand to reason then that this “Great Nation” would stand for peace but would also be strong militarily and make war when necessary. As earlier discussed, Father had imposed the 7 times punishment on Israel. A time is 360 years and 7 times is 2520 years. So after going into captivity in Assyria, Manasseh would emerge 2520 years later as a nation, and then become a great nation. For those of you who are into Biblical numerics 2520 is a special number and is the number of chronological perfection (7 x 360) according to Dr. E.W. Bullinger. In addition to this it is the least common multiple of the ten digits governing all enumeration. (This means you can divide any of the 9 digits into 2520 and not have a remainder.) Another quite interesting feature of 2520 is that it is the product of the 4 perfection numbers, in Biblical numerics. (3,7,10,12) I believe that Father picked this number 2520 to tell us that His hand was on all of these events (concerning Israel) and that He has been in control the whole time. The Assyrian captivities began in 745 B.C. and Manasseh, occupying the land closest to Assyria, would have been the first ones the Assyrians came up against and the first taken into captivity. When we add 2520 years to 745 B.C. (add one year because there is no year zero) we come to the year 1776 A.D., the same year that the 13 American Colonies declared independence from Britain. Is it merely a coincidence that the United States of America began with the 13 colonies just as Israel had 13 tribes? Is it merely a coincidence that for the last 60 years the United States of America has been the most powerful nation, militarily and economically, the world has ever known? Is it just a coincidence that the people of the United States of America have created the greatest industrial nation and highest standard of living the world has ever known? Coincidence? I don’t think so. The marks of Israel and the blessings of Manasseh are everywhere staring us straight in the face. Look at the back side of a dollar bill and what do we see? On the right hand side we see the “Great Seal of the United States of America”. This includes the “Eagle” which was one of the emblems for Israel. The eagle is holding the “Olive Branch and the Bundle of Arrows”, the emblems of Manasseh. Above the eagle is written in Latin “E Pluribus Unum”, translated “out of many, one”. So the eagle represents all Israel and it holds, in its talons, the birthright blessings handed down by Jacob to Manasseh.

Shishak=King of Egypt, the Sheshonk I. of the monuments, first sovereign of the Bubastite twenty-second dynasty. His reign offers the first determined syncronism of Egyptian and hebrew history. The first year of Shishak would about correspond to the 26th of Solomon, and the 20th of shishak to the 5th of Rehoboam. Shishak at the beginning of his reign received the fugitive Jeroboam I Kings 11:40, and it was probably at the instigation of Jeroboam that he attacked Rehoboam. "He took the fenced cities which [pertained] to Judah, and came to Jerusalem." he exacted all the treasures of his city from Rehoboam, and apparently made him tributary I Kings 14:25,26; II Chronicles 12:2-9. Shishak has left a record of this expedition sculptured on the wall of the great temple of El-Karnak. It is a list of the countries, cities and tribes conquered or ruled by him, or tributary to him..

I Kings 11:41  And the rest of the acts of Solomon, and all that he did, and his wisdom, are they not written in the book of the acts of Solomon?   ->   Are they not written?=Yes they are written. As far back as during the time of Moses Father had been telling Moses to record everything, and He even told Moses to pass down that when man desired they wanted their own man king to rule over them, each king was to write his own copy of "The Law," thus ensuring that each king would know The Law and thus be able to administer justice throughout Israel and properly run the Nation.

The scholars and higher critics say that there was not a written language until latter times in the Old Testament; but, Dr. Bullinger in his Companion Bible, in Appendix 47, makes it very plain and clear that there truly was a written language, even prior to the time of Moses, we can read in Father's Word Joshua 10:13 and I Samuel 1:18 that there was a "Book of Jasher," in Numbers 21:14 we can read of the "book of the wars of the LORD," we also know there is the book of the Chronicles, so, as we see, there was writing for many years. Though “this book” referred to here is not in the Bible, other writings of Solomon are, mainly the Song of Solomon, the Book of the Proverbs, and the Book of Ecclesiastes.

I Kings 11:42 And the time that Solomon reigned in Jerusalem over all Israel was forty years.   ->   Forty years=Solomon reigned from 920-880 B.C., again, he was 59 years old when he returned Home to Father in heaven.

Solomon did a lot of things during his reign, and a lot of good things, for the first 20+ years he did very well. he built the Temple, the palatial complex, the House  of the Cedar of Lebanon, the house for pharaoh's daughter: the queen, he brought in much gold and other sundries. It wasn’t until he got the “big head” after he completed all his building and Father appeared to him, Blessing him with all the wisdom he had, and then wanting to show off that Father Given Wisdom. It was then he started succumbing to the lust of the flesh and he started accumulating his wives and concubines, and then started worshipping and building altars for his foreign wives’ false gods, and causing Israel to worship them too. Remember, all of the things that Solomon and Israel did, bringing in the wealth of the world by ships, and it happened in a short span of only forty years.

I Kings 11:43 And Solomon slept with his fathers, and was buried in the city of David his father: and Rehoboam his son reigned in his stead.   ->   Solomon has now returned Home to Father and his son Rehoboam is king over all Israel; however, it’ll only be for a short while, as the kingdom will shortly be divided, leaving Rehoboam with only two tribes. As told him by Father through Ahijah, Jeroboam is about to claim the majority of the kingdom for himself.
