1A0I CHRONICLES CHAPTER 14
Like as we saw with I Chronicles 11 and I Chronicles 12 being out of order as far as the sequence of events occuring, we see the same thing transpiring with the sequence of events in our last Chapter, this one and our next.
In our last Chapter, we read of David wanting to bring Father’s Ark to Jerusalem; but, never completing that task because of His and the Priesthood’s not first consulting Father as to whether they should do that, nor how that should be accomplished, and their lack of knowledge concerning how to handle Father’s Holy items. We read of David and our forefathers putting Father’s Ark on a “new cart” to transport it and when company came to the threshoingfloor of Chidon—who was also known as Nachon—the oxen which was leading the new cart, stumbled and a Kohathite Levite named Uzza reached forth his hand to ensure Father’s Ark didn’t fall from the cart. Father struck him dead on the spot for reaching forth his hand to touch Father’s Ark. David became initially angry with Father for bringing about a breach upon Uzza, but in the next verse, he became afraid and confused as to what Father wanted and as to how to properly transport Father’s Ark. So, he decided he’d temporarily put Father’s Ark in another Levite’s house, this one named Obed who lived in Edom. That was where the Chapter closed, with Father’s Ark sitting in the house of Obed of Edom and Father having respect unto and Blessing Obed and his family for having respect unto Father and His Holy things.
Now, in this Chapter, we’ll be reading of David’s house being built—before the completion of Father’s Ark being brought up to Jerusalem—David expanding his family by taking on more wives to himself and those wives bearing several sons and at least one daughter; and David increasing his strength through Father. These events are all covered in II Samuel 5:11-25.
With that introduction being said, let’s go to Father and ask Him for His Blessings on our Study of His Word: “Father, we come to you right now to thank you for inviting us to Your table in order that we might be able to partake of and receive Your Spiritual Meat, and Father, as we prepare to dine on the sustenance which sustains our inner man, we ask that You Oh LORD open our ears and eyes, that we might be able to hear and see your Truths, open our hearts and minds and prepare us in order that we may receive Your Truth. We Pray for Your Understanding of Your Word, we seek Your Knowledge in Your Word, and most importantly Father, we Pray for and desire Your Wisdom from Your Word, in Jesus’ Precious name we Pray, thank You Father, Amen.”

14:1 House for David.
I Chronicles 14:1 Now Hiram (whiteness; that is; noble; or, noble) (khee-rawnי or, khee-romeי) king of Tyre (a rock; or, rock) (tsore) sent messengers to David (loving; or, well-beloved) (Daw-veedי), and timber of cedars, with masons and carpenters, to build him an house. —>
David is now truly beginning his reign and rule over the Nation of the House of Israel. He has made Jerusalem his and the Nation’s Capital, and he will have his palace built there. He is going to need a large palace as, he has already accumulated several wives who have borne him children, and he’ll accumulate several more who will also bear him more children.
Hiram king of Tyre=Either one of three things happened that this Hiram is now coming to David to assist in his building his house and other important buildings in the Nation: (1) Either David befriended this man somewhere during the course of his life of which we had not previously heard or read, or (2) Father has caused David’s name and fame to be published throughout the region and this man Hiram has come to assist, or (3) Hiram has heard how Israel and David have overpowered and defeated the nations all around them and he has come offering assistance because he doesn’t want the same to happen to him and his nation.
Hiram=Also sometimes called: Huram. Hiram lived and ruled Tyre during the reign of kings David and his son Solomon and was a friend to both. King Hiram supplied building materials and workers to David in order to build his house and several other of the royal residences II Samuel 5:11, I Chronicles 14:1 which David needed to house his wives and their children, and later to Solomon to build the temple of Father YHVH I Kings 5:1. King Hiram and Solomon had made a contract between each other for Hiram to supply skilled laborers, who had the knowledge to hew stone and timber; knew how to fashion, form and sculpt gold, silver and other precious metals; he sent out of Lebanon algum, cedar and fir trees, and also great stone which was cut, formed and fashioned off-site and sent to Jerusalem. In return, Solomon sent to king Hiram 20,000 measures of wheat and 20 measures of pure oil every year, plus he supplied over 100,000 men to assist in the cutting down of the trees, and the moving of the trees and stone. Later—as we read in I Kings 9—as further payment, Solomon gave Hiram 20 cities however, when Hiram came to look at the cities, he wasn’t pleased with them and called them “the land of Cabul.” Even though Hiram felt betrayed by the payment, his anger against Solomon did not prevent him from remaining friends with Solomon. † The etymology of the name Hiram: We find that There is no consensus among the consulted sources about the etymology of our name Hiram. New Open Bible Study Edition (NOBSE) Study Bible Name List (we assume) and Jones’ Dictionary of Old Testament Proper Names think that the name Hiram comes from the noun חר (hor), meaning noble or nobleman, from the root חרר (hrr): The final letter mem of Hiram could be explained (as does Jones) by taking it to be an intensive. Hence Jones translates our name with Most Noble, and NOBSE reads Highborn. But NOBSE might also have taken our name from the ubiquitous verb רום (rum), meaning to be high: Brown Driver Briggs (BDB) Theological Dictionary doesn’t translate the name Hiram, but decrees that it is an abbreviated form of the name אחירם (Ahiram), and that name (says BDB) consists of the verb רום (rum), meaning to be high, and the common noun אח (ah), meaning brother: BDB Theological Dictionary equates the name Hiram with Ahiram, and that name they translate with Brother Of (The) Lofty. Also note the similarity between these names Hiram (חירם) / Huram (חורם) and the names Horem (חרם) / Harim (חרם) from the verb חרם (haram).. † Now from the Strong’s Concordance, where we find that it is Hebrew word number: H2438, - חִירָם or חִירֹם, - chı̂yrâm or chı̂yrôm, pronounced - khee-rawnי or khee-romeי, and means: Another form of H2361; whiteness, (that is), noble; Chiram or Chirom, the name of two Tyrians: - Hiram, Huram. Total KJV occurrences: 26.. †Now from the Smith’s Bible Dictionary, where we read: “The king of Tyre who sent workmen and materials to Jerusalem, first, II Samuel 5:11; I Chronicles 14:1 to build a palace for David, whom he ever loved I Kings 5:1, and again, I Kings 5:10; 7:13; II Chronicles 2:16. To build the temple for Solomon, with whom he had a treaty of peace and commerce I Kings 5:11,12. He admitted Solomon’s ships issuing from Joppa, to a share in the profitable trade of the Mediterranean I Kings 10:22, and the Jewish sailors, under the guidance of Tyrians, were taught to bring the gold of India I Kings 9:26, to Solomon’s two harbors on the Red Sea.”.
Tyre=There were three periods in which the city of Tyre figured prominently in the history our forefathers in Father’s Word and once when it figures importantly prophetically. The first two historical periods pretty much coincide and run during the second and third man kings of the House of Israel: kings David and his son Solomon. During that time, the king of Tyre—king Hiram, who was also called Huram—was instrumental in building the kingdom of the Nation of the House of Israel, how and why? Because, because of his friendship with David and Solomon, he provided the building materials, i.e. great, cut stones, algum, cedar and fir trees, and large quantities of precious metals, plus he also provided many skilled laborers for the effort. One hundred years after Solomon, his great, great, great, great, great grand-son Ahab reigned and ruled over the Nation. Between the time of Solomon—and because during his later years wherein he married many foreign women and allowed them to bring in their false gods to worship in the Nation—and the time of Ahab, the Nation had only known immoral, unrighteous and unjust living—pretty much like was ushered into our Nation of the United States of America during the presidency of barrack obama. So much so that, Ahab married Jezebel, the daughter of ethbaal the king of Tyre. As her father was king of Tyre and a worshiper of baal, Jezebel brought the worship of baal upon the Nation, she also brought in 400 baal priests and 450 baal prophets to ensure all the People of the Nation served baal. Father used Jehu to put an end to Jezebel and the worship of baal in the Nation. † More importantly, Father in Ezekiel 28 details for us that in the first earth age, Father called satan “the king of Tyre,” of course, Tyre in the Hebrew tongue means “rock,” and our adversary satan is the false rock. It is also in that Chapter that Father chronicles for us that satan’s status as the protecting cherub who protected His Mercy Seat in the First Earth Age, who became prideful and decided he no longer wanted to protect Father’s Seat of Judgment but, he himself wanted to sit in that seat as god, thinking he could oust his Creator—how foolish. We read in Revelation 12 that, when satan rebelled, he through influence, drew 1/3 of Father’s Children with him in his rebellion which brought about Father destroying the First Earth Age. Again, in Ezekiel 28, Father details what satan’s end will be—the Lake of Fire. † The etymology of name Tyre. We find that the Semitic, and thus original, name for Tyre is pronounced Zor or Zur. In Biblical Hebrew this name looks exactly like words coming off the צור and צרר root-groups. More specifically, scholars assume that the Hebrew name for Tyre, צור, equals the regular word צור (sur) meaning rock (Jeremiah 21:13, Job 14:18). In Deuteronomy 32:31 the author compares the gods of the nations to the living God and says, “Indeed, their rock is not like our Rock”: For a meaning of the Hebrew name for Tyre, Jones’ Dictionary of Old Testament Proper Names reads Rock. New Open Bible Study Edition (NOBSE) Study Bible Name List does not translate.. † Now from the Strong’s Concordance, where we find that it is Hebrew word number: H6865, - צר or צור, - tsôr or tsôr, pronounced - tsore or tsore, and means: The same as H6864; a rock; Tsor, a place in Palestine: - Tyre, Tyrus. Total KJV occurrences: 42.. † Now from the Smith’s Bible Dictionary: The description in the Smith’s Bible Dictionary is extensive and too long to post here so, I’ll just post a link to it: Tyre, Now from the American Tract Society Bible Dictionary of which I’ll again just post the link: Tyre or Tyrus.
14:2 Kingdom. Its
establishment.
I Chronicles 14:2 And David perceived that the LORD had confirmed him king over Israel (he will rule as YAH; or, the prince that prevails with YAH) (Yis-raw-aleי) (secondary map), for his kingdom was lifted up on high, because of His People Israel. —> This reads slightly different from how it reads in II Samuel 5:12 where it reads: II Samuel 5:12 And David perceived that the LORD had established him king over Israel, and that He had exalted his kingdom for His People Israel’s sake. —>
Though the KJV translators used different words: i.e, “established” in II Samuel and “confirmed” here in I Chronicles, don’t allow it to through you off course or confuse you as, in the Hebrew Manuscripts, they are both the same word, Hebrew word number: H3559, - כּוּן, - kûn, pronounced - koon, and means: A primitive root; properly to be erect (that is, stand perpendicular); hence (causatively) to set up, in a great variety of applications, whether literal (establish, fix, prepare, apply), or figurative (appoint, render sure, proper or prosperous): - certain (-ty), confirm, direct, faithfulness, fashion, fasten, firm, be fitted, be fixed, frame, be meet, ordain, order, perfect, (make) preparation, prepare (self), provide, make provision, (be, make) ready, right, set (aright, fast, forth), be stable, (e-) stablish, stand, tarry, X very deed.. In either case, David understood that Father had Samuel anoint him king over His People not for David’s sake; but, for His People’s sake and even for the world’s sake when you consider Who will come through David’s loins. Like Father in the future will tell Jeremiah in Jeremiah 1:5 which reads: Jeremiah 1:5 “Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.” —> Father knew Jeremiah from the First Earth Age and ordained him to be a prophet for Him, well, He also knew David from the First Earth Age and what he did for Father in that Age, just as He knows what His Elect and all His other children did or didn’t do and He selected David as His king and the seed-line through which He Himself will be born in the flesh.
One slight problem though brethren, yes, David knew that it was Father Who established him to be king over His People in order to lift up His People but, David was still a flesh man, and as such, he too became lifted up in his ego. We see evidence of some of this in David’s taking of his many wives which Father forbade as He told Moses in Deuteronomy 17:17.
Israel=The kingdom of Israel consists and comprises of both a People, and a territory. The People were and are our Father, our Creator ELOHIM’s Chosen People. Chosen only in the sense that they were the lineage through which He Himself will\would be born in the flesh as His Only Begotten Son: Jesus Christ. That lineage began with Adam, then his son Seth, down to Noah, then his son Shem, down to Abram, then his son Isaac, and the his son Jacob whom Father renamed Israel, on to his two sons Levi—actually, Levi’s son Amram amd his son Aaron and his descendants—and Judah—and his son Pharez, then his son Hezron, then his son Aram, then his Amminadab, then his son Nashon, then his son Salmon, then his son Boaz, then his son Obed, then his son Jesse, then his son David. Both lineages culminated and terminated at Mary—cousin to Elisabeth, wife of Zacharias—whom the Holy Spirit overshadowed while she was yet a virgin, and after Michael the arch angel had told would come to pass. When Father had changed Jacob’s name to Israel and then he had his twelve sons—Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Dan, Napthali, Gad, Asher, Issachar, Zebulun, Joseph, and Benjamin—who went into captivity to Egypt for those 200 plus years, when Father led them out by the hand of Moses, they became known collectively as, the House of Israel. As for the territory, see the links of the 2 maps in the verse to understand the land mass which comprised the territory of Israel. † As to the etymology of the name Israel, the meaning of the name Israel is not clear; but, yet, it’s huge. The meaning of Israel is not singular and distinct; but, consists of many nuances and facets and bulges with theological significance. Judging from Genesis 32:28, the form ישראל (Israel) appears to be a compilation of two elements. The first one is the noun אל, El, the abbreviated form of אלהים, Elohim, denoting the genus God: The second part of our name appears to be related to the verb שרה I (sara I): However, even though Genesis 32:28 uses the enigmatic verb שרה — which is assumed to mean to struggle but which might something else entirely — it’s by no means certain that this verb is etymologically linked to our name Israel. When we say, “we named him Bob because that seemed like a good idea,” we certainly don’t mean to say that the name Bob means “good idea.” The first part of the name Israel looks a lot like the verb שרה that explains this name; but, this apparent link is possibly a mere case of word-play. In fact, the name Israel may have more to do with the verb ישר (yashar), meaning to be upright. Note that the difference between the letter שׂ (sin) as found in the name ישׂראל (Israel) and the letter שׁ (shin) as found in the verb ישׁר (yashar) didn’t exist in Biblical times and as it was invented more than a thousand years after the Bible was written: For a meaning of the name Israel, New Open Bible Study Edition (NOBSE) Study Bible Name List, Brown Driver Briggs (BDB) Theological Dictionary and Alfred Jones (Dictionary of Old Testament Proper Names) unanimously go with the verb שרה of which the meaning is unsure. Undeterred, NOBSE reads God Strives, and BDB proposes El Persisteth or El Persevereth. Alfred Jones figures that the mysterious verb שרה might very well mean “to be princely,” and assumes that the name Israel consists of a future form of this verb, which hence would mean to become princely. And so Jones interprets the name Israel with He Will Be Prince With God.. † Now from the Strong’s Concordance, where we find that it is Hebrew word number: H3478, - ישׂראל, - Yiśrâ'êl, pronounced - Yis-raw-ale’, and means: From H8280 and H410; he will rule as God; Jisrael, a symbolical name of Jacob; also (typically) of his posterity: - Israel. Total KJV occurrences: 2,576.. † Now from the Smith’s Bible Dictionary: The description of Israel in the Smith’s Bible Dictionary is extensive and too long to post here; so, I’ll instead just post the link to it: Israel.
14:3-7 David’s family.
I Chronicles 14:3 And David took more wives at Jerusalem (founded peaceful; or, the habitation of peace) (Yer-oo-shaw-lahי-im): and David begat more sons and daughters. —> Father is with David and as we see, his house or strength continues to increase; however, he is beginning to push the limits in his taking of so many wives and concubines. Father told Moses that when He moved His Children into the Promised Land that they would rebel against Him and this is actually what David is doing by his taking of so many women. As we have discussed, he is looking at these women as possessions and he’s trying to accumulate as many as he can, but it’s still a far cry from what his son Solomon will accumulate. The good thing for David is, that, he never forsook Father to serve his wives and concubines false gods, unlike his son Solomon will do.
Jerusalem=Jerusalem, like several other of the cities of our forefathers, is rich in history. When our forefathers moved into the Promised Land, Jerusalem—Jebus as it was known as at the time; though, we can also go back as far as the Book of Joshua; Joshua 10:1, and the Book of Judges; Judges 1:8 and read that it had already been called Jerusalem—was in the hands of the Canaanites, and more specifically, the Jebusites. It stayed that way for hundreds of years before David, as king, mustered the troops to fight against the Jebusites and capture Father’s most favorite place in all His Created Universe. † We find in the entomology of the name Jerusalem that, that without a doubt, the second and dominant part of the name reminded—then and now—of the word שלום (shalom), meaning: peace. The root of this word, שלם (shalem), denotes completeness, wholeness and soundness: In this sense, the name Jerusalem is related to some other famous names from the David saga: Solomon and Absalom. The first part of the name Jerusalem may likely have reminded a Hebrew audience of the verb ירה (yara), throw, cast or shoot; Perhaps the name Jerusalem was never changed, but only Hebraized, because it seems to mean Rain Of Peace. Jerusalem was to be the radiating heart of a world of completeness and wholeness. It seems that history supplied her with a most suiting name. As I said in the opening of the description here; Jerusalem is rich with history, far too much to list here; but, of particular note, or importance is this tidbit: it was the land that our Father took to be His Wife;—Ezekiel 16:3—but, as can be read in Jeremiah 3:8, because of our forefathers being sottish, He issued her a bill of divorcement. † Now from the Strong’s Concordance, we find it is Hebrew word number: H3389, - ירוּשׁלם, or ירוּשׁלים, - Yerûshâlaim, or Yerûshâlayim, pronounced - Yer-oo-shaw-lah'-im, or Yer-oo-shaw-lah'-yim , and means: A dual (in allusion to its two main hills (the true pointing, at least of the former reading, seems to be that of H3390)); probably from (the passive participle of) H3384 and H7999, founded peaceful; Jerushalaim or Jerushalem, the capital city of Palestine: - Jerusalem.. † Now from the Smith’s Bible Dictionary, where we read: The description of Jerusalem in the Smith’s Bible Dictionary is extensive and too long to post here; so, I’ll instead just post the link to it: Jerusalem.
1A4
I Chronicles 14:4 Now these are the names of his children which he had in Jerusalem; Shammua (renowned; or, renowned) (sham-mooי-ah), and Shobab ( rebellious; and, rebellious) (sho-bawbי), Nathan ( given ; or, a giver) (naw-thawnי), and Solomon (peaceful; and, peaceful) (shel-o-moי), —> These four sons of David’s mentioned here in this verse are from his wife — Bathsheba. The first two mentioned: Shammua and Shobab, II Samuel 5:14 and here are the only mentions of them in Father’s Word; however, both Nathan and Solomon will play a larger role in the future. Solomon will be the next man king of Israel and it is his seed-line through which the Sceptre or kingship will continue, Nathan on the other hand will be the seed-line through which the Messiah, Father in the flesh will be born in approximately 1,000 years from this time as is documented in Luke 3 which reads: Luke 3:31 Which was the son of Melea, which was the son of Menan, which was the son of Mattatha, which was the son of Nathan, which was the son of David,.
Shammua=He is identified as Shimea in I Chronicles 3:5; but, we read in II Samuel 5:14 and I Chronicles 4:14 that, his name was Shammua. Shammua is another of David’s sons whom we hear about only in the genealogical listings, in this case: II Samuel 5:14, I Chronicles 3:5 and I Chronicles 4:14. † The etymology of the name Shammuah’s comes from the verb שמע (shamaי), meaning to hear. For a meaning of the name Shammua, New Open Bible Study Edition (NOBSE) Study Bible Name List reads Renowned. Jones’ Dictionary of Old Testament Proper Names proposes Hearing. Brown Driver Briggs (BDB) Theological Dictionary does not offer an interpretation of our name but does list it under the verb שמע (shamaי), meaning to hear.. † Now from the Strong’s Concordance, where we find that it is Hebrew word number: H8051, - שַׁמּוּעַ, - shammûaי, pronounced - sham-mooי-ah, and means: From H8074; renowned; Shammua, the name of four Israelites: - Shammua, Shammuah. Total KJV occurrences: 5.. † Now from the Smith’s Bible Dictionary, where we read: “Son of David, by his wife Bathsheba I Chronicles 14:4 (and in I Chronicles 3:5 she is called Bath-shua).”.
Shobab=Shobab like his brother Shammua, is another of David’s sons whom we hear about only in the genealogical listings, in this case: II Samuel 5:14, I Chronicles 3:5 and I Chronicles 4:14. † The etymology of the name Shobab is best summed up by saying that there are two ways to look at this name. It might be a facsimile of the adjective שובב (Shobab) meaning backsliding. But it could also be a certain form of this adjective’s root-verb שוב (shub), meaning to turn back or to return, and in particular the kind that doubles the final consonant. For a meaning of the name Shobab, New Open Bible Study Edition (NOBSE) Study Bible Name List chooses for the last option and reads Returning. Jones’ Dictionary of Old Testament Proper Names initially goes with the adjective and reads Backsliding, but Jones also lists the verb-option, for which he reads Brought Back. Brown Driver Briggs (BDB) Theological Dictionary does not interpret this name but does list it under the verb שוב (shub).. † Now from the Strong’s Concordance where we find that it is Hebrew word number: H7727, - שׁוֹבָב, - shôbâb, pronounced - sho-bawbי, and means: The same as H7726; rebellious; Shobab, the name of two Israelites: - Shobab. Total KJV occurrences: 4.. † Now from the Smith’s Bible Dictionary, where we read: “Son of David by Bath-sheba II Samuel 5:14; I Chronicles 3:5; 14:4.”.
Nathan=Of David’s son Nathan, we know nothing of the man as, other than the genealogical listings of II Samuel 5:14; I Chronicles 3:6; I Chronicles 14:4 and Luke 3:31, he is not mentioned in Fathers Word. The only thing we really know of him is, that, he is in the line to Jesus. † The etymology of the name Nathan comes from the verb נתן (natan), to give. The name Nathan doesn’t seem to denote something that is given (as New Open Bible Study Edition (NOBSE) Study Bible Name List suggests with the meaning of Gift), but rather an active form of the verb: He Will Give. Jones’ Dictionary of Old Testament Proper Names reads Given.. † Now from the Strong’s Concordance, we find that it is Hebrew word number: H5416, - נתן, - nâthân, pronounced - naw-thawnי, and means: From H5414; given; Nathan, the name of five Israelites: - Nathan. Total KJV occurrences: 42.. † Now from the Smith’s Bible Dictionary, where we read: “A son of David; one of the four who were borne to him by Bathsheba I Chronicles 3:5, compare with I Chronicles 14:4 and II Samuel 5:14.”.
Solomon=Solomon was one of, if not the greatest king to rule Israel. Though his father David was and is the king by which all other kings were compared against, it was Solomon who Father came to in that dream where He asked Solomon “Ask what I shall give thee?” Solomon replied in I Kings 3: I Kings 3:6 And Solomon said “Thou hast shewed unto Thy servant David my father great mercy, according as he walked before Thee in truth, and in righteousness, and in uprightness of heart with Thee; and Thou hast kept for him this great kindness, that Thou hast given him a son to sit on his throne, as it is this day. [3:7] And now, O LORD my God, Thou hast made Thy servant king instead of David my father: and I am but a little child: I know not how to go out or come in. [3:8] And Thy servant is in the midst of Thy People which Thou hast chosen, a great People, that cannot be numbered nor counted for multitude. [3:9] Give therefore Thy servant an understanding heart to judge Thy people, that I may discern between good and bad: for who is able to judge this Thy so great a People?”. He took over the throne from his father when he was at the tender age of 19,—he wasn’t Israel’s youngest king, there were several others who had that distinction—and he reigned for forty years, from 920–880B.C., he was 59 years old when he returned Home to Father in heaven. Solomon accomplished a lot of things during his reign, and a lot of good things. For the first 20+ years he did very well: He built the Temple; the palatial complex; the House of the Cedar of Lebanon; the house for pharaoh's daughter: the queen; and he brought in much gold and other sundries. It wasn’t until he got the “big head” after he completed all his building and Father appeared to him, Blessing him with all the wisdom he had, and then wanting to show off that Father Given Wisdom. It was then he started succumbing to the lust of the flesh, and he started accumulating his wives and concubines, and then started worshipping and building altars for his foreign wives’ false gods, and causing Israel to worship them too. Remember, all of the things that Solomon and Israel did, bringing in the wealth of the world by ships, and it happened in a short span of only forty years. † The etymology name Solomon comes from the fertile and familiar root שלם (shalem), meaning to be unbroken or whole: The noun שלמה (shilluma) is identical to our name Sholomoh, and is used in Psalm 91:8 in the meaning of reward or recompense (of the wicked). This illustrates the perhaps anti-intuitive notion that a bad result of something that was bad to begin with, is still very good (or rather: just). Although Psalm 91 is anonymous and tradition demands that Solomon is the great peace-king, his name may have stemmed from David’s deep remorse and grief over losing Solomon’s older sibling. When Solomon is born, the prophet Nathan receives word from Father that this child is loved by Him. Hence He names him Jedidiah—The name Jedidiah is a combination of two elements: The second element of the name Jedidiah is יה, which is the commonly accepted abbreviated form of the Tetragrammaton יהוה, which is YHVH, or Yahveh, the sacred and personal Name of Father. The first element of the name Jedidiah comes from the verb ידד (yadad), meaning to love—as can be read in II Samuel 12:25, although this name is, sadly, never again used.. † Now from the Strong’s Concordance, we find that it is Hebrew word number: H8010, - שׁלמה, - shelômôh, pronounced - shel-o-mo’, and means: From H7965; peaceful; Shelomoh, David’s successor: - Solomon.. † Now from the Smith’s Bible Dictionary, where we read: The description of Solomon in the Smith’s Bible Dictionary is extensive and too long to post here; so, I’ll instead just post the link to it: Solomon.
The next few sons of David’s didn’t do anything noteworthy in their lifetime to have any mention in Father’s Word except in the Genealogical listings of II Samuel 5; I Chronicles 3 and here in I Chronicles 14, and as such, I’ll not be giving a detailed description of their names except to include the etymology, the Strong’s and the Smith’s descriptions.
I Chronicles 14:5 And Ibhar (choice; and, whom YAH chooses) (yib-kharי), and Elishua (YAH of suppulication; or, YAH is my salvation) (el-ee-shooי-ah), and Elpalet (YAH of deliverance; or, YAH his deliverance) (el-pehי-let), —> As we come into this next list of names of the sons who were born to David in Jerusalem, we need to be careful and to pay close attention, and closely scrutinize the names of his sons as, there are three different genealogical lists of these names: II Samuel 515-16; I Chronicles 3:6-8 and here in I Chronicles 14:5-7; all three lists are different, whether the difference is the names; or, whether it is the number of sons born to David in Jerusalem. I’ll be sure to point out the differences as we come to them.
Ibhar=Ibhar is the first name on all three lists; so, no difference here. There are only 3 verses and matches for the name Ibhar and it’s associated Hebrew word number: H2984 in Father’s Word, all 3 are in the genealogical listings. We know absolutely nothing of the man, not who his mother was, whether he was a full or half brother to Absalom or Solomon or any of the other sons, and not even whether he had any children of his own or how many. † The etymology of the name Ibhar comes from the root-verb בחר (bahar), meaning to choose. Jones translates this name with Whom He (God) Elects, but assumes that the yod with which our name begins is a remnant of the divine name יה (Yah) = יהו (Yahu) = יו (Yu), which in turn are abbreviated forms of the Tetragrammaton יהוה, YHVH, or Yahveh,—the sacred and personal name of Father. Brown Driver Briggs (BDB) simply sees this name as an active form of the verb בחר: He (El or YHVH) [אל (El), the common abbreviation of Elohim, the genus God, Father in His role of Creator of All things] Chooses. New Open Bible Study Edition (NOBSE) Study Bible Name List reads He (God) chooses.. † Now from the Strong’s Concordance, where we find that it is Hebrew word number: H2984, - יִבְחַר, - yibchar, pronounced - yib-kharי, and means: From H977; choice; Jibchar, an Israelite: - Ibhar. Elishua=There is only one man named Elishua in Father’s Word and that is David’s son, born to him in Jerusalem. Elishua is called Elishua in II Samuel 5:15 and I Chronicles 14:5; but, we find that in I Chronicles 3:6 he is called Elishama. Elishua\Elishama could possibly be the name of two of the sons of David who were born in Jerusalem according to II Samuel 5:15; I Chronicles 3:6; and I Chronicles 14:5. It’s not clear how this doubling works; but, something similar happens to the two Eliphetes, brothers of the two Elishamas. Some scholars have suggested that the younger Elishama and Eliphelet were named after the elder ones who died. Others propose that the Elishama mentioned in I Chronicles 3:6 is the same as the Elishua mentioned in his stead in I Chronicles 14:5 and II Samuel 5:15. Of David’s son(s) Elishua, we know absolutely nothing of the man, not who his mother was, whether he was a full or half brother to Absalom or Solomon or any of the other sons, and not even whether he had any children of his own or how many. † The etymology of the name Elishua, the name Elishua consists of two elements, the first part is אל (EL)—from Dr. Bullinger’s Companion Bible Appendices: EL—the common abbreviation of ELOHIM—from Dr. Bullinger’s Companion Bible Appendices: ELOHIM—the genus God—Father in His role of Creator of All things. The second part of our name probably comes from the verb שוע (shawaי), meaning to cry or ישע (yashaי), meaning to save or be rich and free: For a meaning of the name Elishua, New Open Bible Study Edition (NOBSE) Study Bible Name List reads God Is Salvation. Jones’ Dictionary of Old Testament Proper Names proposes God The Rich or God Of Crying. And Brown Driver Briggs (BDB) Theological Dictionary suggests God Is Salvation or God Is Opulence.. † Now from the Strong’s Concordance, where we find that it is Hebrew word number: H474, - אֱלִישׁוּעַ, - 'ĕlı̂yshûa‛, pronounced - el-ee-shooי-ah, and means: From H410 and H7769; God of Supplication (or of riches); Elishua, a son of King David: - Elishua. Elpalet=Of David’s son Elpalet, we know absolutely nothing of the man, not who his mother was, who he was a brother to, and not even whether he had any children of his own or how many. † The etymology of the name Elpalet, consists of two elements, the first part is אל (EL)—from Dr. Bullinger’s Companion Bible Appendices: EL—the common abbreviation of ELOHIM—from Dr. Bullinger’s Companion Bible Appendices: ELOHIM—the genus God—Father in His role of Creator of All things. The second part of our name comes from the verb פלט (palat) means to bring into security: The letter י (yod) that ties these two elements together in the name Eliphelet may be a possessive yod, creating the meaning of El of, or it belongs to the verb and turns it into a active form. For a meaning of the name Eliphelet, both New Open Bible Study Edition (NOBSE) Study Bible Name List and Brown Driver Briggs (BDB) Theological Dictionary read God Is Deliverance. I Chronicles 14:6 And Nogah, and Nepheg, and Japhia, —> Two of these three sons of David—Nepheg and Japhia—are listed in all three of the genealogical listings of II Samuel 5; I Chronicles 3; and I Chronicles 14; but, Nogah is only listed here and in I Chronicles 3:8; but, not in II Samuel 5.
I Chronicles 14:7 And Elishama, and Beeliada, and Eliphalet. —> These three sons of David are mentioned I Chronicles 3:8 and in II Samuel 5; but, here in I Chronicles 14:7, Eliada is called Beeliada. The “Be” could have been dropped from his name perhaps because of it’s close association to the word\name “baal,” which obviously is associated with idolatry.

14:8 Fame heard by
Philistines.
I Chronicles 14:8 And when the Philistines (rolling; that is, migratory; or, immigrants) (pel-ehי-sheth) heard that David was anointed king over all Israel, all the Philistines went up to seek David. And David heard of it, and went out against them. —> To seek David=The Philistines weren’t seeking David because they wanted to be his friend, remember brethren, David had killed tens of thousands of the Philistines during his lifetime. His first kill was of the Philistine champion: Goliath, and then later the Israelite women sang songs glorifying David’s victories over Israel’s arch enemy. In the word “seek” used in this verse, we find that it is Hebrew word number: H1245, - בָּקַשׁ, - bâqash, pronounced - baw-kashי, and means: A primitive root.; to search out (by any method; specifically in worship or prayer); by implication to strive after: - ask, beg, beseech, desire, enquire, get, make inquisition, procure, (make) request, require, seek (for). Total KJV occurrences: 225.. This really doesn’t stress strong enough how the Philistines were seeking David, they wanted him dead more then they wanted Saul dead. Dr. Bullinger in his Companion Bible notes it this way: “especially to seek for blood or life.” See when Father gave Saul and Israel into the Philistines hand because of Saul’s turning his back on Father and causing the Nation to do the same, the Philistines became emboldened, even to the point that they now think they’ll run roughshod over David. They’re about to find out that they made a grave error seeking so hard after David. I believe another reason that the Philistines were trying to now come against David and Israel was because, I believe Father let it be known to the Philistine that He was again Blessing His People Israel, and the Philistines therefore thought that, if they were going to completely wipe Israel out, now was the time befoire they grew too strong.
David heard of it, and went out against them=David didn’t cower, hide, or any other such nonesense, he went out to confront Father’s and his enemy Head-on.
Philistines=The Philistines were adamic peoples as, we read in Genesis 10:14: Genesis 10:14 And Pathrusim, and Casluhim, (out of whom came Philistim,) and Caphtorim. It was Noah who begat Ham, who begat Cush, on down to either Casluhim or Caphtorim who then begat Philistim, of whom became the Philistines. † The Philistines were the chief rival and primary enemy of our forefathers. They warred against them, more than any other nation or peoples. Most of those battles our forefathers won; but, there were some battles they also lost. On one such occasion that they lost, the Philistines were able to capture Father’s Ark. Why did He allow this to happen? Because our forefathers had not sought Him before taking His Ark into battle with them. The Philistines, thinking they finally had the upper-hand for capturing Father’s Ark, brought it back to Ashdod and set It in the “house of dagon.” The next morning when the Philistines went to check on their prized possession, they found that their god dagon was fallen upon his face to the ground before Father’s Ark. So, they set the image of their idol back upon it’s feet, and the next day when they again came to check on things, this time they found that dagon was again fallen upon his face to the ground before Father’s Ark; and the head of dagon and both the palms of his hands were cut off upon the threshold; only the stump of dagon was left to him. This time, the Philistines left things as they were in the “house of dagon” for, they were now afraid. Father wasn’t done with them yet for having His Ark in their possession, He now smote every Philistine in the city where His Ark was, with deep, painful hemorrhoids, and a plague of mice. These hemorrhoids were so bad that, that, everyone asked each other if they too were now afflicted with this ailment? When they discovered that, yes, everybody in the city was afflicted, they quickly removed Father’s Ark from among them, by taking it to another one of the Philistine cities. This city too suffered the affliction of the hemorrhoids and plague of mice, and they too quickly took Father’s Ark to another of the Philistine cities. This happened 3 more times, and finally the Philistines had had enough. So, they called for a meeting of all the Philistine lords to discuss what to do with Father’s Ark. They decided that it would be best to return It back to It’s rightful owner, our forefathers. But, before doing so, they decided that they would return it with a trespass offering. That trespass offering were images of 5 golden hemorrhoids and 5 golden mice, one hemorrhoid and mouse for each of the 5 Philistine cities which were afflicted. † The etymology of name\word Philistine seems to be related to the verb פלש (palash), denoting the expression of intense grief: It’s ultimately unclear whether the Philistines were named for the grief they caused or perhaps for their ability to express their own grief (like a kind of ancient blues). The Philistines were, after all, products of the great people’s movements, and they were driven off Caphtor (Jeremiah 47:4) and subsequently out of Egypt. In fact, their history is not all that different from Israel’s, and they may very well have been known as The Mourners, or Causing To Mourning. But then, the name of the Philistines might also reflect the more fundamental or broader Semitic meaning of the verb פלש, that of digging or breaking through. As a nation, the Philistines may have been known as the Steamrollers. For a meaning of the name Palestine, Jones’ Dictionary of Old Testament Proper Names goes with the verb mentioned above, focuses on its meaning of to roll around, and forgivingly translates Palestine with The Land Of Wanderers. New Open Bible Study Edition (NOBSE) Study Bible Name List does not translate either name Palestine or Philistine.. † Now from the Strong’s Concordance, where we find that it is Hebrew word number: H6430, - פּלשׁתּי, - pelishtı̂y, pronounced - pelishtı̂y, and means: Patrial from H6429; rolling; that is, migratory; a Pelishtite or inhabitant of Pelesheth: - Philistine. Total KJV occurrences: 288.. † Now from the Smith’s Bible Dictionary, where we read:—before I get into Dr. Smith’s description of the Philistines, know this brethren: I emphatically disagree with Dr. Smith’s statement, which states: “The origin of the Philistines is nowhere expressly stated in the Bible.”. For, as I mentioned at the beginning of this description of the Philistines, we can read in Genesis 10:14, Father’s Word does indeed expressly state the origin of the Philistines, they are descended from Casluhim, who was descended from Mizraim[Genesis 10:13-14], who was descended from Ham[Genesis 10:6], who was descended from Noah)—“(immigrants), The origin of the Philistines is nowhere expressly stated in the Bible; but, as the prophets describe them as “the Philistines-from Caphtor” Amos 9:7, and “the remnant of the maritime district of Caphtor” Jeremiah 47:4 it is prima facie probable that they were the Caphtorim which came out of Caphtor” who expelled the Avim from their territory and occupied it; in their place, (Deuteronomy 2:23) and that these again were the Caphtorim mentioned in the Mosaic genealogical table among the descendants of Mizraim Genesis 10:14. It has been generally assumed that Caphtor represents Crete, and that the Philistines migrated from that island, either directly or through Egypt, into Palestine. But the name Caphtor is more probably identified with the Egyptian Coptos. [CAPHTOR] History. — The Philistines must have settled in the land of Canaan before the time of Abraham; for they are noticed in his day as a pastoral tribe in the neighborhood of Gerur Genesis 21:32,34; 26:1,8. Between the times of Abraham and Joshua the Philistines had changed their quarters, and had advanced northward into the plain of Philistia. The Philistines had at an early period attained proficiency in the arts of peace. Their wealth was abundant Judges 16:5,19, and they appear in all respects to have been a prosperous people. Possessed of such elements of power, they had attained in the time of the judges an important position among eastern nations. About B.C. 1200 we find them engaged in successful war with the Sidonians. Justin xviii. 3. The territory of the Philistines having been once occupied by the Canaanites, formed a portion of the promised land, and was assigned the tribe of Judah Joshua 15:2,12,45-47. No portion of it, however, was conquered in the lifetime of Joshua Joshua 13:2, and even after his death no permanent conquest was effected Judges 3:3, though we are informed that the three cities of Gaza, Ashkelon and Ekron were taken Judges 1:18. The Philistines soon recovered these, and commenced an aggressive policy against the Israelites, by which they gained a complete ascendancy over them. Individual heroes were raised up from time to time, such as Shamgar the son of Anath Judges 3:31, and still more Samson, Judges 13-16, but neither of these men succeeded in permanently throwing off the yoke. The Israelites attributed their past weakness to their want, of unity, and they desired a king, with the special object of leading them against the foe I Samuel 8:20. Saul threw off the yoke; and the Philistines were defeated with great slaughter at Geba I Samuel 13:3. They made no attempt to regain their supremacy for about twenty-five years, and the scene of the next contest shows the altered strength of the two parties. It was no longer in the central country, but in a ravine leading down to the Philistine plain, the valley of Elah, the position of which is about 14 miles southwest of Jerusalem. On this occasion the prowess of young David secured success to Israel, and the foe was pursued to the gates of Gath and Ekron I Samuel 17:1. ... The power of the Philistines was, however, still intact on their own territory. The border warfare was continued. The scene of the next conflict was far to the north, in the valley of Esdraelon. The battle on this occasion proved disastrous to the Israelites; Saul himself perished, and the Philistines penetrated across the Jordan and occupied the, forsaken cities I Samuel 31:1-7. On the appointment of David to be king, he twice attacked them, and on each occasion with signal success, in the first case capturing their images, in the second pursuing them “from Geba until thou come to Gazer” II Samuel 5:17-25; I Chronicles 14:8-16. Henceforth the Israelites appear as the aggressors. About seven years after the defeat at Rephaim, David, who had now consolidated his power, attacked them on their own soil end took Gath with its dependencies. The whole of Philistine was included in Solomon's empire. Later when the Philistines, joined by the Syrians and Assyrians, made war on the kingdom of Israel, Hezekiah formed an alliance with the Egyptians, as a counterpoise to the Assyrians, and the possession of Philistia became henceforth the turning-point of the struggle between the two great empires of the East. The Assyrians under Tartan, the general of Sargon, made an expedition against Egypt, and took Ashdod, as the key of that country Isaiah 20:1,4,5. Under Senacherib, Philistia was again the scene of important operations. The Assyrian supremacy was restored by Esarhaddon, and it seems probable that the Assyrians retained their hold on Ashdod until its capture, after a long siege, by Psammetichus. It was about this time that Philistia was traversed by vast Scythian horde on their way to Egypt. The Egyptian ascendancy was not as yet re-established, for we find the next king, Necho, compelled to besiege Gaza on his return from the battle of Megiddo. After the death of Necho the contest was renewed between the Egyptians and the Chaldeans under Nebuchadnezzar, and the result was specially disastrous to the Philistines. The “old hatred” that the Philistines bore to the Jews was exhibited in acts of hostility at the time of the Babylonish captivity Ezekiel 25:15-17, but on the return this was somewhat abated, for some of the Jews married Philistine women, to the great scandal of their rulers Nehemiah 13:23,24. From this time the history of Philistia is absorbed in the struggles of the neighboring kingdoms. The latest notices of the Philistines as a nation occur in 1 Maccabees 3-5. Institutions, religion, etc. — With regard to the institutions of the Philistines our information is very scanty, The five chief cities had, as early as the days of Joshua, constituted themselves into a confederacy, restricted however, in all probability, to matters of offence and defense. Each was under the government of a prince Joshua 13:3; Judges 3:3, etc.; I Samuel 18:30; 29:6 and each possessed its own territory. The Philistines appear to have been deeply imbued with superstition: they carried their idols with them on their campaigns II Samuel 5:21, and proclaimed their victories in their presence I Samuel 31:9. The gods whom they chiefly worshipped were Dagon Judges 16:23; I samuel 5:3-5; I Chronicles 10:10, 1 Maccabees 10:83, Ashtaroth I Samuel 31:10, Herod. 1:105, and Baalzebub II Kings 1:2-6.”.
14:9 Philistines’
array.
I Chronicles 14:9 And the Philistines came and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim (invigorating, a giant; or, giant) (raw-fawי). —> The rapha, from whom the rephaim are descendants, were of the nephilim or the fallen angels, in other words, they were the giants. The Philistines had also widely mated and mixed with the fallen angels—hence Goliath, Og, and others. Dr. Bullinger did several extensive studies on this subject in his Companion Bible, you can read them in Appendix 23 and 25. These angels were the ones who did not come to earth born of woman, but came to earth and bred with the daughters of men as can be read of in Genesis 6. Their coming to this Age and mating with flesh women was the reason Father sent the flood during Noah’s days, in order to wipe out their and human woman offspring—the gibbor, or, giants. Jesus taught of this to Nicodemus in John 3. Let’s turn there and read of it: John 3:1 There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews: —>
First off, let’s identify who the pharisees were. They, unlike the sadducees, believed in the resurrection—they believed in life after this flesh life. Nicodemus himself, as we can read in this verse is a pharisee, of course the pharisees wanted along with the chief priest, the elders, the scribes and the sadducees, to kill Jesus because of the miracles He performed and because He was drawing the people away from their teachings and doctrines—you see, they thought Him to be false. Nicodemus was also a member of the Sanhedrin—“The Great Synagogue of at first 120 members but later reduced to 70.” This Great Synagogue consisted of (12) the chief Levites; (3) the chiefs of the people; (4) the representatives of the cities; and (5) the doctors of the law. Nicodemus, though a member of the sanhedrin, knew better and he came to Jesus as we’ll learn, during the night time to talk with Jesus. Why during the night time? Because as a member of the Sanhedrin, people would then question if what the Sanhedrin was teaching was correct, and the Sanhedrin themselves would have been angry with Nicodemus. John 3:2 The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, “Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that Thou doest, except God be with him.” —>
Nicodemus, like his fellow sadducees and sanhedrin had witnessed some of the miracles that Jesus had performed, and knew that no man could do the things that Jesus was doing, so he came to learn from Jesus. John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, “Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
—> Jesus immediately goes into doctrinal and Salvation teaching with Nicodemus. What is the first thing Jesus tells him? “Man must be born again.rdquo; Most Christians will say this does not mean a physical birth; but, a “spiritual rebirth;” however, let’s look at this word “again.” In the manuscripts, in the Greek, the Strong’s Concordance, shows that it is Greek word number: G509, - ἄνωθεν, - anōthen, pronounced - an'-o-then’, and means: From G507; from above; by analogy from the first; by implication anew: - from above, again, from the beginning (very first), the top.. In order to come to the true meaning of this, we must first allow Jesus to continue His teaching of Nicodemus. It was Father’s plan from the beginning for us to be born into this Age in the flesh — John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was God. —> With that being said, you must grasp that Father’s Word was written at the beginning of time itself, when Father Created. As such, it was His Plan from the Beginning that the angles would become flesh man, and likewise also, He too would become flesh. Why? Hebrews 2:14 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; —>
He knew when He Created, that one—satan—would fall, and he would draw one third of His children with him, and in order to Prove to us His great love for us, He too would become flesh and go to the cross for us and die in the flesh for us. You see, He too was “born from above.” We can read of documentation for this in the Book of Jude whereby the penalty of the fallen angels is given, in as much as they left their place of habitation. Angels are to inhabit heaven, or paradise at this time, in the flesh age. Jude 1:6 And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, He hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day. —>
Angels—still in the spirit body—were never to be upon the earth in this Flesh Age—unless He sent them as messengers for flesh man—they rebelled against Father, leaving their habitation and coming to try and interrupt the seedline through which He would become Flesh. Satan and they thought that if they could corrupt that seedline, then Father could’t\wouldn’t be born and therefore, satan could\would win the controversy and he, satan, would then be god. So the angels that rebelled with satan, came to this Age as can be read in Genesis 6:1-4 which reads: Genesis 6:1 And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them, —> The plan by Father was for the “sons of God,” — His children to be born in the Flesh and to do so, He made them both male and female. In my opinion the Female being the more beautiful of the two and also the stronger of the two — they bare the children. The races from Genesis 1 are populating the earth as were Adam’s Genesis 2, and Seth’s, and also Cain’s and genealogies. Genesis 6:2 That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives all of which they chose. —> To understand who these “sons of God” are, let’s go to Job 1 which reads: Job 1:6 Now there came a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them. —>
These sons of God are the angels — the elohim, the same ones with whom Father is speaking with in Genesis 1:26, when He says — “let us make man in our image..” We again can read of these angels — elohim, here from this verse in Jude 1:6 And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, He hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day. —>
This is also why Enoch, as we read in Genesis 5:24 And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him. —> Enoch was teaching of these fallen angels and what they were doing. What were they doing? It states it pretty clearly in this verse—Genesis 6:2—“they saw the daughters of man, that they were fair, and they took them wives....” Now, you may wonder how this can be, but, in reality, it is actually quite easy to understand, when you apply common sense. We look like the angels because we were once these “sons of God” in the Age that was. These were awaiting their opportunity to be born in the flesh—stated as “again” by Jesus as we read here in John 3:3—and without the knowledge of the great sin of the falling away by satan and all those who followed him in that Age; but, they chose not to be born of woman and instead, followed after satan and came to this earth age—think dimensions—in order to try and interrupt the seedline through which Father Himself would be born in the flesh through the Adamic seedline. Also, we know that as the Israelites wandered the wilderness for those thirty 38 years, unable to enter into the Promised Land because of their unbelief. While they were in the wilderness they ate “manna” — angels food. If angels have food, that means that, they must have bodies to be able to receive food. We also know that when the angels came to visit Abraham on their way to Sodom and Gomorrah, they partook of human food. So, this mating between the angels and flesh women should really be of no surprise to anyone. Something else to consider, Jesus warned us in Matthew 24 and Luke 17 that, the angels will be coming back just prior to His return, and Paul also warned us in I Corinthians 11:10 that, a woman ought—should—to have power on her head, of course, that “power” is Jesus. Why? “because of the angels.” Genesis 6:3 And the LORD said, “My Spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.” —> For that he also is flesh=Here, Father has just shortened man’s—both the sixth day created ’ish — the races”—and the eighth day formed “The man — eth-ha-adham” time in the flesh from one thousand years to one hundred and twenty years. In Genesis 3:22, Father had taken away the Tree of Life — Jesus, thereby requiring man to come to Christ in order to have salvation, thereby also requiring Himself to be born in the flesh. But again, this should be of no surprise as the Word was written from the beginning and it was Father’s Plan all along. Genesis 6:4 There were giants in the earth in those days: and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown. —> Giants=In the Strong’s Concordance, this is Hebrew word number: H5303, - נְפִיל or נְפִל, - nephı̂yl or nephil, pronounced - nef-eelי or nef-eelי, and means: From H5307; properly; a feller; that is; a bully or tyrant: - giant. Total KJV occurrences: 3.. So, now let’s look at H5307, where we find the following: H5307, - נָפַל, - nâphal, pronounced - naw-falי, and means: A primitive root; to fall; in a great variety of applications (intransitively or causatively, literally or figuratively): - be accepted, cast (down, self, [lots], out), cease, die, divide (by lot), (let) fail, (cause to, let, make, ready to) fall (away, down, -en, -ing), fell (-ing), fugitive, have [inheritamce], inferior, be judged [by mistake for H6419], lay (along), (cause to) lie down, light (down), be (X hast) lost, lying, overthrow, overwhelm, perish, present (-ed, -ing), (make to) rot, slay, smite out, X surely, throw down.. These giants—angel and flesh woman hybrid offspring—are the “mighty men” and in the Hebrew are H1368, - גִּבּוֹר, or גִּבֹּר, - gibbôr or gibbôr, pronounced - ghib-boreי or ghib-boreי, and means: Intensive from the same as H1397; powerful; by implication warrior, tyrant,: - champion; chief, X excel, giant, man, mighty (man, one), strong (man), valiant man. Total KJV occurrences: 159.. Remember (1) Goliath—who David slew (2) His brother—who had six fingers on each hand and six toes on each foot (3) Og—king of Bashan who had a bed that was 9 cubits long and 4 wide (ap 51; III. 2. 1. 1.), in other words, Og’s bed was approximately 18 feet long by 8.5 feet wide; I named these three just to name a few, but there were many others. These fallen angels came and mated with all the races of the world, but they were mainly interested in the Adamic seedline in order to stop Father from coming in the flesh, thereby preventing man’s salvation. We also see from Job 1:6 and other places that there were no “women — feminine” bodies in the spiritual bodies, as all the verses read “sons of God.” The female — feminine body is in this Age to bring forth all of Father’s children in this Age, as well as the male — masculine, but in the eternity we will all be the “bride” or “wife” of Christ, which leads to believe we will all be feminine. And also after that=This is in reference to the time after Noah’s flood. There was a second irruption and another attempt on the Adamic seedline after the flood. We can see these in Genesis 12:6 as well as Genesis 13:7 and many other places. Again, see the Promised Land after Father led the Israelites up out of their bondage to the Egyptians, Goliath, his brother, Og and others. The seven nations Father wanted the Israelites to utterly destroy and can be read of in Deuteronomy 7:1 and following. Back to John 3; in other words, this “death” was to go contrary to Father’s plan. The people did, but it is essential that one be “born from above.&rdqupo; Your soul comes from above, from Father, for we were with YHVH in that first earth Age, and upon death Ecclesiastes 12:7 tells us that our soul immediately returns to Father. Within Father’s plan, because of what happened in the first earth Age, all souls must be born innocent from above. Father’s plan requires that each soul come into this world Age through its mother’s womb, and make its own mind up whether that soul will follow God or Satan. That is free will, the right to choose the final destination of your own soul. They must be born innocent of the what happened in the first earth Age, and the result of that first overthrow by Satan’s downfall, as recorded in Genesis 1:2, when “the earth became void.” Jesus is giving the very basics of salvation to Nicodemus. We’ll see by the next verse, that, Nicodemus didn’t and\or couldn’t understand what Jesus was talking about. We’ll also see when we come to Verse v3:7, that Jesus says “you must be born again,” meaning that, if not, your soul will not make it to see the eternity — Salvation. John 3:4 Nicodemus saith unto him, “How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born?” —> Nicodemus, still confused, asks Jesus “how can a man—no gender involved—literally become unborn, climb back into his mother’s womb and then be born again?” Like Nicodemus, many a man also has to this day, confused this verse. John 3:5 Jesus answered, “Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. —> Jesus now tells Nicodemus that two births are necessary, the birth of the “water” and the birth of the “spirit.” So, let’s define these two births. We need to do this because, this verse again like Verse v3:3 above, have been taken out of context and wrongly taught by man. Man teaches that, this means a person must be baptized, and when they are baptized, they then receive the Holy Spirit. But, this is NOT what Jesus is teaching. And WHO DO YOU WANT TO TEACH YOU — Jesus or man? So, let’s listen to Jesus teach us what this means. To be born from above is to be born of the womb of your mother. Every child is born in a bag of water, in fact, the normal birth is announced by the breaking of the waters within the birthing bag. So, we see in this that, one must be born of woman, in innocence, and then “be born of the spirit.” And not of the “spirit” that some men teach. Again, let’s look and see Jesus’ teaching on this being born of the Spirit. To be “Born of the spirit” means: — to accept the Spirit of Christ, meaning: — your soul choosing by “free will” the Spirit of Christ into your spirit. That is what the marriage of Christ is all about, to become one in Christ. This is why most people simply do not know what being “born from above means,” — they disregard what happened in Genesis 6, and in that first earth Age. They overlook all of satan’s attempts to destroy Father’s Plan, to come in this Age as His Son, through the womb of woman, in order that we might have Redemption. It was satan’s plan to interrupt Father’s Plan by corrupting the seedline through which He would come. God intervened in satan’s attempt, as He always will do. This is why Enoch’s teaching, I Corinthians 10:11, and the Book of Jude are so important. John 3:6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. —> To understand what Jesus is teaching Nicodemus and us, let us go to Paul’s teaching in I Corinthians 15 which reads: I Corinthians 15:35 But some man (never listen to man) will say, How are the dead raised up? and with what body do they come? —> Here in I Corinthians 15, Paul is telling us what happens to our flesh bodies when we bury them in the earth. Sharpen up for me because, if you do; shortly you will understand, and won’t be confused any longer. If you believe in the resurrection—and you better or you are not a Christian—you’re going to learn how the resurrection takes place for us, Where it takes place, and with what body do we rise. Of course, we’re talking about our physical body’s change. We know from Ecclesiastes 12:6-7 that, as soon as we die, our physical body starts to return to the dust from which it was formed, and our Spiritual body returns to the Father who gave it. But, just how does this happen? I Corinthians 15:36 Thou fool, (if you listen to man, that is what you can become — a fool) that which thou sowest is not quickened, except it die: —> The word “quickened” in the Greek manuscripts, in the Strong’s Concordance, is Greek word number: G2227, - ζωοποιέω, - zōopoieō, pronounced - dzo-op-oy-eh’-o, and means: From the same as G2226 and G4160; To (re-) vitalize; (literally or figuratively): - make alive, give life, quicken Total KJV occurrences: 12.. Back in I Corinthians 15:22 Paul stated: I Corinthians 15:22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. —> The word quickened is the same as is used by Paul here in this verse — to make alive. And it means that everybody: —sinners and saints are made alive through Jesus Christ. It doesn’t mean that the soul is raised to eternal life. Why? For several reasons, but for this instance, in this verse, it is because that is not the subject — the subject is what happens to the physical body. As we learned: to quicken means to revitalize, as in the soul. The soul becomes conscious and ready for Judgment. Again, this doesn’t mean that all souls are or will be “saved,” but that are souls that have returned to the Father, and those souls that will return to Father either by the body dying or at Jesus’ return at His Second Advent, will be there in His 1,000 year Millennium, some to do the teaching and disciplining and some to receive teaching and disciplining. It will not be until the end of the Millennium, when, after satan is loosed again, for a short period of time, that, then will come the Great White Throne Judgment. Again, some for rewards and some for punishment: — the Lake of Fire or the Second Death — the death of the soul. But either way, all the souls have to be there for this time to face. Father tells us through Paul in Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. —> Putting Father’s Word in your mind, becomes the “sealing” of Revelation 9:4, and also becomes the normal thought for all your thoughts: — it becomes foremost and forefront of all thought. Our Lord, Jesus, He is The Living Word — John 1:1, and He can discern the intend of our thoughts — what’s in our heart: II Chronicles 6:30 Then hear Thou from heaven Thy dwelling place, and forgive, and render unto every man according unto all his ways, whose heart Thou knowest; (for Thou only knowest the hearts of the children of men:) —> Within our body is our Spirit which He created and he knows and we cannot fool Father — not ever. We have to be able to separate and distinguish the Spirit, the soul and the body to be able to fully understand the resurrection. Paul will now explain our flesh body utilizing agricultural terms for us. This is what happens to our flesh, not our soul or Spirit. I Corinthians 15:37 And that which thou sowest, thou sowest not that body that shall be, but bare grain, it may chance of wheat, or of some other grain: —> It isn’t hard really when you think about it. And like Paul is doing here, he is comparing our flesh and blood body with other living things: — grass, trees, plants etc. When a seedling is taken from, let’s say, a kernel of corn, first you must remove the cover from off the seedling, then that seedling is naked as a new born baby. This seedling is not the stalk of corn you’ll see come up next year as, it’ll have a totally different look to it. No, first, it’ll have to die out, or “dry out.” Only after that happens, will it then be ready for planting — much like us. Our body too has to die, so that our Spirit can be prepared to return to Father: — or raise a beautiful new Spiritual body. The flesh body dies, and that new (or, old, depending on how you look at it) Spiritual body; — raises to be in paradise, either on the side of the gulf with the rich man: — away from Christ, or the side with Lazareth and Abraham — with Jesus. Nowhere in Father’s Word does it say that the flesh will rise and be in heaven, as a matter of fact, Father’s Word declares just the opposite: I Corinthians 15:50 “…Flesh and blood cannot inherit the Kingdom of God…” Jesus’ Body though did resurrect, why? So that man could not say, “see, He’s dead: there’s His body.” But in reality, His body didn’t rise, it was transfigured, like when He appeared to Peter, James, and John, James’ brother in Matthew 17:1-13. This transfigured body was also the body that the women saw at the tomb, and also His apostles saw after He resurrected. So, likewise, the body of the seed of corn that we plant for our crop the following year, when it springs up, it is not the same body that we put in the ground the previous year. When you plant any seed, flowers, corn, or wheat, there is an embryo deep inside of the body of that plant. As the body of the parent plant decays, it feeds this little embryo that is deep within that seed or kernel of corn. Then when the water, and temperature, and soil are just right, then that embryo springs forth into new life, and a new plant is formed. That is exactly as it is with our flesh body, the old flesh body must die before the new life of our new spiritual of soul body can come forth. The time that it takes for the new spiritual life to come from the death of the old flesh body is instant. The instant that the flesh body dies, the soul and spirit body is present with Father Who gave it in the first place. The flesh decays back into the elements of the earth that it is made of, and your soul returns to the Father. Paul could not have made it more simpler than the using of a grain of wheat in comparison to our flesh bodies. Just as all of nature functions, so it is with man. I Corinthians 15:38 But God giveth it a body as it hath pleased Him, and to every seed his own body. —> It was and is Father’s pleasure to bring man in the flesh in order to be able Himself to likewise partake of such in order for Him to be able to redeem us back to Him. It is our purpose to utilize these bodies to bring glory to our Creator — ELOHIM. We can read of this in Revelation 4:11 Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created. —>
On the sixth day—Genesis 1:26-31—Father created all the races, “…and God saw every thing that He had made, and behold, it was very good…” And it was very pleasing to Him, but He still needed to bring forth the seedline through which He Himself would come, and when He formed Adam of the dust of the ground—Genesis 2:7-8—He likewise was pleased with this portion of His creation as well. Our bodies are given to our souls for the sake of being pleasing to Father, this is the only purpose that our souls exist in our physical bodies. Though our flesh bodies may have a missing a limb or other part, the spiritual body within this physical body is still whole and complete. In all of nature, all seeds within them have their embryos for the sake of continuing life after they are gone. There is nothing to be ashamed of in the race that He created you, for it pleased Father to create you as you are, and if it pleased Him, it had better be pleasing to you and make you proud of the race you were created. I Corinthians 15:39 All flesh is not the same flesh: but there is one kind of flesh of men, another flesh of beasts, another of fishes, and another of birds. —> ELOHIM — Father, created all things, that pure and that simple, and, they were all created for His pleasure — to bring Him joy and happiness. He created each person differently — except twins, but, man is different from dog, and dog different a cow, and a cow different from a fish, and a fish different from a bird. We don’t mate with His different creation and likewise they don’t mate with creation that is different from them. Likewise also, when, after mating and the female conceives, like kind is then born of like kind — mankind doesn’t give birth to animal, fish or bird. Obviously, we’re still talking about flesh bodies here, not the soul within the flesh body. Kind after kind and all according to Father and His plan for flesh bodies. Let’s see what He told us about in from Genesis 1:24 And God said, “Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind cattle, and creeping things, and the beast of the earth after his kind:” and it was so. [1:25] And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw it was good. —> Father’s Plan didn’t include animals breeding with different kinds of animals, in other words, cats breed cats, sheep — sheep and so on, likewise also, every plant after its kind also. It is only man who tries to screw around with Father’s natural order of things, cross pollinating plants and fruits and vegetables. Likewise also it is only man who tries to mate with like kind man with man and woman with woman — all against Father’s Natural order. Father’s creation was orderly and right when He created it in the Age that was. The conflict started with satan’s rebellion back in the first earth Age, when he fell away from Father in order to take Father’s place on the Mercy Seat. It was at that time that he also drew one third of all souls or children of Father with him in that rebellion. Now, in this age, Father provided a way that all souls could be brought back to him; and that way is through your fresh start in your flesh body by choosing Jesus Christ or satan. Father created your soul for His pleasure, and your flesh body houses that soul during this part of Father’s plan. When your flesh body dies, then it is time for the soul to move back to the Father from where it came, from when He placed your soul into the embryo of your mother at conception. When the body dies and the soul returns to Father, at first that soul rejoices and prays to the glory of Father. If that soul is one that loved not Father and transgressed His laws, then that soul’s countenance falls because it finds it has been sent to the side of the Gulf that the rich man found himself on, if the soul is one that loves Father and kept His laws, statutes, and ordinances, then that soul continues in its glorying of Father as it finds itself on the side of the Gulf with Lazareth and Abraham. Either way, all souls return to Father in Paradise, for that is where all must go to be judged. Unlike a lot of men and hollyweird teach, there is no hell now, today. Hell is the Lake of Fire, and the Lake of Fire doesn’t happen until when Father consumes a soul and unless you are one of the fallen angels who will be consumed at the end of this Age, or satan’s role of the false prophet — antichrist, you will first go through Jesus’ 1,000 year Millennium and then the Great White Throne Judgment. Father is fair and just and no soul, except those mentioned, will be judged before the Judgment. This is also why the “fly away” doctrine — i.e., the “rapture” is so wrong. Those that say they’ll be raptured, say that, those left behind are doomed — judged, which absolutely goes against Father’s Word. Likewise also, those people that teach that the dead body is going to rise up out of the grave, simply don’t know what they are talking about. Flesh causes you to sin, and when we are done with this flesh body, it is done away with. Why would you want any part of that old decaying body. The flesh body dies to give your spiritual body new life and a new body that will not age and get sick. I Corinthians 15:40 There are also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial: but the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another. —> Paul is still discussing bodies, not souls in this verse. Celestial bodies are the heavenly bodies, likewise also terrestrial bodies are our earthly bodies. Like we learned of the corn kernel, our body has two bodies within it: the physical and the heavenly soul, the outer physical body has to die before the soul can be raised and return to Father in Paradise. I Corinthians 15:41 There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars: for one star differeth from another star in glory. —> Father created all things: the sun, the moon, all the stars and planets, everything that is on the planets. Each has its own glory, it’s own beauty, its own lifespan. And, just as each of us is different from one-another, so are the sun, moon, stars and planets all different from each other. This is as Father created it, and it is for this reason that He calls His children “stars” in the Book of Job. Father asked Job to give Him answer to this question in Job 38:7 which reads: Job 38:7 When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy? —>
Each of the stars are different, and so are each of the children that Father created. Every one of them has a different body. Yet, every last one of us was created for Father’s pleasure. I Corinthians 15:42 So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption: —> Here, Paul is telling us that our flesh body has to die in order for the soul to be able to return to Father. From the day that we are born, our body grows and starts preparing for its destruction so that the soul can return to Father. There is nothing to be afraid of in that, — it’s Father’s natural order of our bodies. The only ones who fear this natural order, are those souls that refuse Father and His natural order of things. And what do they do? First off, they try to deny that they were created by a Loving Father, and they say “there is no God.” Next, they try to change His order of things by trying to find ways to extend their lives — sort of like when man built the Tower of Babylon after Father flooded His earth in order to get rid of the giants — the offspring of the fallen angels and flesh woman. Next, like today, they start looking for ways to “clone” themselves to extend their lives. When in reality, there is nothing to fear about dying and returning to Father. I Corinthians 15:43 It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power: —> We are born with a sinful nature — Father created us that way on purpose, for there is only one Who was sin free, and that was Father in His flesh body — Jesus Christ. If He had created us in likewise a sin free body, man’s pride would have gotten him the same place it got satan when he became puffed up in himself and fell. Heck, even in our sinful nature, look at man’s pride and turning away from Father who created us. We are all sinners; but, in Christ, we can be raised incorruptible. Only through the Blood of The Lamb of God — Jesus — Father, can we have complete forgiveness of all of our sins. Though He created us this way, it is not a license to commit sin, in order to be forgiven, we must repent — have a change of heart, and ask His forgiveness. I Corinthians 15:44 It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body. —> Two bodies — natural — physical — terrestrial and the other within this natural, is the Spiritual — soul — celestial. Let’s look at the word “raised” here in this verse. In the Greek manuscripts, in the Strong’s Concordance, it is Greek word number: G1453, - ἐγείρω, - egeirō, pronounced - eg-i’-ro, and means: Probably akin to the base of G58; (through the idea of collecting one’s faculties); to waken; (transitively or intransitively), that is, rouse (literally from sleep, from sitting or lying, from disease, from death; or figuratively from obscurity, inactivity, ruins, nonexistence): - awake, lift (up), raise (again, up), rear up, (a-) rise (again, up), stand, take up. Total KJV occurrences: 141.. This is what happens when our physical body dies, our inner man, our soul, awakens and rises to heaven, to be in Paradise. Inside our soul is our Spirit, or, the “intellect of the soul.” It is thus that awakens and becomes conscious in the heavenly realm. You have two bodies, one natural body contains your spiritual body, and that spiritual body is awakened to a new life, when the flesh or natural body dies and releases your soul. Your spirit and your soul are together, for the spirit is your “self,” “the intellect of your soul” which houses your spirit within you. Your spirit never leaves your soul, even at the death of your flesh body. Satan does not have any power over your spiritual body, but only your flesh body. Man and satan can tear your flesh body to pieces and cause you to do all sorts of things, but no-one can damage your soul, not man, not satan nor the angels. Father is the only one that can destroy the soul and that comes at the end of the Millennium Age, following judgment. However, through deception, satan can cause you to sin against Father, and thus be in trouble before the Almighty God. This is why we have repentance in the name of Jesus, to become right-standing before Father again. It just can’t be made any clearer than Paul has made it here. You have two bodies, the flesh and the spiritual bodies. When the flesh body dies, then the spiritual body is awakened and comes alive within itself; it starts to live a life without the baggage of the flesh body confining it to the limits of the flesh. Let’s look at what Solomon told us in Ecclesiastes 9:5, which reads: Ecclesiastes 9:5 For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten. —> This was written by Solomon to the flesh man that walks under the sun, and when the life of the flesh is over, it has no more knowledge or thought than a stick or rock. It is useless, but the soul that is within it is gone and with the Father. I Corinthians 15:45 And so it is written, “The first man Adam was made a living soul;” the last Adam was made a quickening spirit. —> What does the word “Adam” in mean? In the manuscripts, in the Strong’s Concordance, we find the following: first from the Greek, where we find: G76, - Ἀδάμ, - Adam, pronounced - ad-am’, and means: Of Hebrew origin [H121]; Adam; the first man; typically (of Jesus) man (as his representative): - Adam. Total KJV occurrences: 9.. Now from the Hebrew: H120, - אָדָם, - 'âdâm, pronounced - aw-dawm’, and means: From H119; ruddy; that is, a human being (an individual or the species, mankind, etc.): - X another, + hypocrite, + common sort, X low, man (mean, of low degree), person. Total KJV occurrences: 541.. So, we see that adam, means to be “ruddy complected,” i.e., to show blood in the face. When Father created Adam from the dust of the earth, he placed a living soul in his body. The last Adam was brought about through the generations of births through the natural process, and we read in Luke 3:23-38 the blood line or lineage of Jesus all the way back to Adam the first created. It is through the last Adam: — Jesus Christ that “quickening” or “life giving” spirit enters into man’s souls. I Corinthians 15:46 Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual. —> Paul is stating fact here in this verse, and he could just have easily said either: indeed or nevertheless — before we can return Home to be with Father in Paradise, we have to first be born—as Jesus is teaching us here in John 3—through the womb of a woman, i.e., from above, then and only then, can we return and possibly have eternal life with Father. I Corinthians 15:47 The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven. —> The first man, Adam, and also all the races, were and are of the earth, though again, even we came from a Spiritual body before we became flesh, and it is to Spiritual we return. Remember what Father said to the angels—us—in Genesis 1:26? Genesis 1:26 And God said, “Let us make man in Our image, after Our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.” [1:27] So God created man in His own image, in the image of God created He him; male and female created He them. —> He created us in these flesh bodies in the exact image as we were in our Spiritual Body. We don’t “look like Father because He looks like Himself” and we look like us. This is why it is written of Jesus: John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word (Jesus Christ, Immanuel, God in the flesh), and the Word was with God, and the Word Was God. —> John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. —> It was also why He stated while He walked in the flesh: John 14:9 Jesus saith unto him, “Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known Me, Philip? he that hath seen Me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, ‘Shew us the Father’? —> So, we see that each soul was to pass through this earth Age of the flesh, in a flesh body, and Father Himself came through that same natural form also. Jesus Christ came to pay the price that none of His created souls could do in the flesh. Jesus was perfect in His flesh life, and He set the path for us to follow. I Corinthians 15:48 As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly. —> If you live for this world, that is that which you shall reap, likewise also, if you live for the world to come — The Millennium and more importantly, the Eternity, it is That which you shall reap. Don’t worry about the things in this Age of time, for is but only for a short span of time, unlike our Spiritual selves which are already billions of years old and can have an eternity more years to live. I Corinthians 15:49 And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly. —> We were created in the image of the heavenly, then born in the earthly, and we go back to the heavenly. This is what Jesus is trying to teach Nicodemus here, and Jesus knew that Nicodemus should have understood, but didn’t. Let’s return now to John 3:7: John 3:7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, ‘Ye must be born again’. —>
Jesus is saying to Nicodemus that he shouldn’t be surprised that we have to be born from above, born through the womb of woman. If we refuse, then we are like the angels that refused and will go into the Lake of Fire at His coming. John 3:8 The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.” —> Jesus marvels that Nicodemus, a teacher of the Word, he, like the rest of us, can hear the blow, the rustling of the leaves of the trees, the sand whipping up and such, but he doesn’t know where it originated or where it’ll go to. This is an analogy by Jesus, using it to describe our soul, and it is a superb analogy. Look at it this way: like the wind in this verse; we know that we have a soul, and we know it came from Father He created it, but while in these flesh bodies, we cannot see where it came from and we really cannot grasp what it’ll be like where it Returns to — Home with Father. We cannot understand that realm because, Father, when He sent us in these flesh bodies, removed the knowledge of His realm from our minds. John 3:9 Nicodemus answered and said unto him, “How can these things be?” —> Nicodemus still cannot wrap his head around what Jesus is teaching him, and for the second time asks Him “how?” Quite like many preachers today, when you share this Truth with them. Many years from now, Paul will address this very issue for us in Hebrews 9, which reads: Hebrews 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: [28] So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for Him shall He appear the second time without sin, unto salvation. —> We are appointed to come to the flesh from Father, live for the number of years He has appointed—my opinion, don’t ask me to document—and then return Home to Him. When this happens we don’t see the transfer of the soul when its spirit goes back to Father. We can’t see it, though it happens. When you do not understand the spiritual realm — Father’s Kingdom, it is difficult to grasp how these things should be. Nicodemus had seen enough of Jesus’ miracles to know that the miracles He performed did not come from the physical realm, they had to be of Father. Nicodemus is opening his mind up to Jesus for understanding. John 3:10 Jesus answered and said unto him, “Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these things? —> Jesus specifically calls to Nicodemus’ attention that he is a teacher of the Word, but yet, how can you be a teacher and not know or understand what happens? This is the very reason that so many preachers fall short in their preaching — their “messages,” even today. There are many who claim to be preachers of Father’s Word, yet they peddle their wares of false teaching for many different reasons. When I was a mail carrier I saw weekly the letters “Prayers by mail” seeking that monetary donation, like sending money can or will cause Father to answer a prayer. It broke my heart because, I couldn’t go the person which received the letter and tell them that Father doesn’t answer prayers for money — He doesn’t need our money. Likewise also, He doesn’t send out beggars, we can read of this in Matthew 10:5-10, which reads: Matthew 10:5 These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, “Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not: [10:6] But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. [10:7] And as ye go, preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’ [10:8] Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give. [10:9] Provide neither gold, nor silver, nor brass in your purses, [10:10] Nor scrip for your journey, neither two coats, neither shoes, nor yet staves: for the workman is worthy of his meat. —> IF you do Father’s Work, He will provide for all your needs, you’ll never have to beg, or go to the elderly and make them feel bad or pressured into giving. If He has opened your eyes and ears to the Truth in His Word and you have the understanding of His Word, that is a gift from Father, that knowledge is His and He shares with whomsoever He will. Jesus is telling Nicodemus, you claim to be a teacher, and you don’t even know this? Nicodemus, like many of the preachers today, didn’t know the Word because, he didn’t study the Word. Nicodemus studied the traditions which were accepted by the religious community of that day. In fact, he, being one of the Sanhedrin, was one of the spiritual leaders of that day and community. John 3:11 Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness. —>
Truly, truly, we teach what we know. Do you know Father’s Word; or, — the traditions of the elders? Jesus was teaching Nicodemus that he needed to come out from false teachings and into the Truth, and then to teach the same. How can you tell the difference? Get into Father’s Word. Heck, this goes back to the Garden of Eden and satan tempting Eve, likewise also, when satan attempted to tempt Jesus — like that could happen. But, the point being, you can only know if you are hearing Truth, if you know the Word well enough. John 3:12 If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things? —> The reason we in our flesh bodies with our flesh thinking find it so hard to understand Father’s realm, is as Jesus tells Nicodemus here: — if I talk to you of earthly things and you don’t understand, how do you think you would ever understand the heavenly things. John 3:13 And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but He that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven. —> Hear Jesus well here; He is giving the answer to vJohn 3:3, v3:5 and v3:7: no man can ascend back up to Father, unless he first came from above and was born of woman. Unlike the angels who refused to be born of woman. This does not mean that all who have been born of woman will have eternal life, for if they refuse to love Father and reject His Promises, they are in danger of losing their salvation. The good news though—and again most preachers don’t teach this because they don’t understand this—during the Millennium, all those who did not have the chance to hear the Truth in Father’s Word while here in the flesh, will have that opportunity during Jesus’ 1,000 Millennial reign when satan and his spirit will be bound and cast into the abyss for that entire period. Everybody has to return to Father, in Paradise, to first go through the Millennium and then stand before Father for Judgment.
Valley of Rephaim=Rephaim was a very well-known descendant from the mating of fallen angels with flesh women. His descendants were also tall as, they had that hybrid gene from their father. Rephaim later founded a land in a valley and it became known as “The Valley of the Rephaim.” This parcel of land became a major breeding ground for the fallen angels with flesh women and several different peoples were also descended from the perverted breeding: Anak and his descendants the Anakims, the emims, the Zamzummims and the Zuzims. When David became king over all Israel, the Philistines, judging that he would now become their uncompromising enemy, made a sudden attack upon Hebron, compelling David to retire from it. He sought refuge in “the hold”—also known as “the cave”—at Adullam II Samuel 5:17-22, and the Philistines took up their position in the valley of Rephaim, on the west and south-west of Jerusalem. Thus all communication between Bethlehem and Jerusalem was intercepted. While David and his army were encamped here, there occurred that incident narrated in II Samuel 23:15-17. Having obtained divine direction, David led his army against the Philistines, and gained a complete victory over them. The scene of this victory was afterwards called “Baal-perazim.” A second time, however, the Philistines rallied their forces in this valley II Samuel 5:22. Again, warned by a divine oracle, David led his army to Gibeon, and attacked the Philistines from the south, inflicting on them another severe defeat, and chasing them with great slaughter to Gezer. There David kept in check these enemies of Israel. This valley is now called el-Bukei’a. † Now from the strong’s Concordance, where we find that it is Hebrew word number: H7497, - רָפָא or רָפָה, - râphâי or râphâh, pronounced - raw-fawי or raw-fawי, and means: From H7495 in the sense of invigorating; a giant: - giant, Rapha, Rephaim (-s). See also H1051. Total KJV occurrences: 21.. † Now from the Smith’s Bible Dictionary, where we read: “II Samuel 5:18,22; 23:13, I Chronicles 11:15; 14:9; Isaiah 17:5 also in Joshua 15:8 and Joshua 18:16. It is translated in the Authorized Version “the valley of the giants,” a spot which was the scene of some of David’s most remarkable adventures. He twice encountered and defeated the Philistines there II Samuel 5:17-25; 23:13 etc. Since the latter part of the sixteenth century the name has been attached to the upland plain which stretches south of Jerusalem and is crossed by the road to Bethlehem —the el Buk’ah of the modern Arabs. (This valley begins near the valley of Hinnom, southwest of Jerusalem extending toward Bethlehem. It is about a mile long, with hills on either side. This agrees with Josephus and is the generally-accepted location of this valley. —ED.) Tobler, however, in his last investigations conclusively adopts the Wady Der Jasin, on the northwest of Jerusalem. The valley appears to derive its name from the ancient nation of the Rephaim. [GIANTS].”.
14:10 Inquiry and promise.
I Chronicles 14:10 And David enquired of God, saying, “Shall I go up against the Philistines? and wilt thou deliver them into mine hand?” And the LORD said unto him, “Go up; for I will deliver them into thine hand.” —>
We see that, David’s heart and mind are in the correct place, i.e., he seeks Father in his desire to protect His kingdom—yes, I purposely used an upper case “H” to indicate and highlight that it is Father’s Kingdom. This is a sign of a good king, one who desires to protect something precious which was given to him and those he is responsible for. David inquires of Father through Abiathar the High Priest who, inquires through the use of the Urim and Thummim. Father replies, giving David full assurance that, “yes, He will give David and the Israelites the victory over the Philistines.” I’ll tell you brethren, there aren’t any better assurances than when Father gives you an assurance as He just gave David.
Here are another couple of good lessons for us to apply in our own lives: Whenever an enemy appears to be too strong for us, and they appear to be “giants” and too much for us to handle; then, that is the time to seek our direction from Father above. David went and inquired of Father, seeking direction and guidance for what he should do in this case. The two things that David wanted to know was: (1) Should I go to war with these Philistines; and (2) Are you going to deliver them into my hands and give me the victory? Father gave David His full assurance that the victory was going to be his. Another part of the lesson to be learned here, was that, too many times today, man wants to charge headlong into their battles of life without first consulting with Father, and then when things don’t turn out the way they thought they should have, they accuse and blame Father for their stupid mistakes and blunders. They may have the best of intentions however, if you start-out without first asking Father’s blessings on the matter, then, don’t blame Him when things go bad.
Here in the Book of The Chronicles we get Father’s perspective however, in II Samuel 5 we get to see this from man’s perspective. So, let’s bring in II Samuel 5 and read how man described these events: II Samuel 5:19 And David enquired of the LORD, saying, “Shall I go up to the Philistines? wilt thou deliver them into mine hand?” And the LORD said unto David, “Go up: for I will doubtless deliver the Philistines into thine hand.” —> Did you notice the difference in Who David inquired of between II Samuel 5:19 and here in I Chronicles 14:10? In The Books of Samuel David inquired of YHVH—from Dr. Bullinger’s Companion Bible Appendix 4—however, here in The Books of the Chronicles it is ELOHIM—from Dr. Bullinger’s Companion Bible Appendix 4. In Samuel it is YHVH’S faithfulness to David; while here, it is ELOHIM’S power as Creator of all things. Both pleas are complementary to, and, with one another, and we can compare them in this narrative: Here in Chronicles it’s ELOHIM six times, and YHVH once; whereas, in Samuel it is YHVH six times, and not ELOHIM once. II Samuel 5:20 And David came to Baal-perazim, and David smote them there, and said, “The LORD hath broken forth upon mine enemies before me, as the breach of waters.” Therefore he called the name of that place Baal-perazim. —> There is a difference between the two verses as to how this reads and Who did what which I’ll explain when we come to our next verse: vI Chronicles 14:11, I’ll also point out there, this baal-perazim. [5:21] And there they left their images, and David and his men burned them. —> When the Philistines heard that Father ELOHIM was there and fighting for His People Israel, they darn near immediately dropped everything and fled in fear. When David and his men arrived in their camp and found what the Philistines had left behind, they burned and destroyed every one of their false gods and idols. [5:22] And the Philistines came up yet again, and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim. —> They always go back to the “land of the giants” for refuge, it’s also where they put their trust: in satan’s plans and tactics. [5:23] And when David enquired of the LORD, He said, “Thou shalt not go up; but fetch a compass behind them, and come upon them over against the mulberry trees. [5:24] And let it be, when thou hearest the sound of a going in the tops of the mulberry trees, that then thou shalt bestir thyself: for then shall the LORD go out before thee, to smite the host of the Philistines.” —> Father told David to have his men circle around behind the Philistines as, He would be leading the charge. [5:25] —> Being obedient to Father always brings victory.
Let’s now return to I Chronicles 14 and pick it up at verse 14:11:
14:11 Defeat of Philistines.
I Chronicles 14:11 So they came up to Baal-perazim (possessor of breaches; or, a breach) (bah-alי per-aw-tseemי); and David smote them there. Then David said, “God hath broken in upon mine enemies by mine hand like the breaking forth of waters:” therefore they called the name of that place Baal-perazim.
—> God hath broken in upon mine emenies=Here in Chronicles 14:11 the verse merely states that Father through David is getting the victory over His—his, David’s—enemies; however, as we read in II Samuel 5:20 we find that the verse states that Father “broke forth” which Dr. Bullinger calls an “anthropopatheia” — meaning that, Father not only had the victory, but that, He also had great distain and contempt for the Philistines.
Baal-perazim=This can be translated “Lord of the divisions” or “Lord of the breaches.” In other words, Father caused a division or a breach in the camp of the Philistines to where they could not come against David — think of when the Egyptians were chasing the Israelites as they were fleeing Egypt and what happened when they came to the Red Sea? Father, through Moses, parted the Sea so that His people could walk across on dry ground however, when the Egyptians tried to follow, then the sea came crashing down upon them. Here, Father sent division amongst the Philistines, thereby causing confusion in their camp.
Baal-perazim=Baal-perazim was the spot in or near the Valley of Rephaim where David obtained a crucial victory over the Philistines — Father delivered the Philistines into David’s hands. When Father did that, David named that location Baal-perazim, saying—in II Samuel 5:20—“The LORD hath broken forth upon mine enemies before me, as the breach of waters..”. † The etymology of the name Baal-perazim consists of two parts. The first part is the familiar word בעל (baיal), Baal, meaning lord or master: Modern readers of the Bible know this word as the name of the signature idol of Canaan. The second part of our name comes from the verb פרץ (paras), meaning to break (through). It is the plural form of the noun פרץ (peres), meaning a breach: For a meaning of the name Baal-perazim, New Open Bible Study Edition (NOBSE) Study Bible Name List avoids the plural and reads the interpretive Lord Of Breaking Through. Jones’ Dictionary of Old Testament Proper Names has the paraphrastic and rather incorrect Place Of Breaches. And Brown Driver Briggs (BDB) Theological Dictionary proposes the odd Possessor Of Breaches.. † Now from the Strong’s Concordance, where we find that it is Hebrew word number: H1188, - בַּעַל פְּרָצִים, - ba‛al perâtsı̂ym, pronounced - bahי-al per-awי-tseem, and means: From H1167 and H4843; possessor of breaches; Baal peratsim, a place in Palestine: - Baal-perazim. Total KJV occurrences: 4.. † Now from the Smith’s Bible Dictionary, where we read: “(a breach), Mount, a name which occurs in Isaiah 28:21 only —unless the place which it designates is identical with the Baal-perazim mentioned as the scene of one of David’s victories over the Philistines, which was in the valley of Rephaim, south of Jerusalem, on the road to Bethlehem.”.
14:12 Defeat of Philistines.
I Chronicles 14:12 And when they had left their gods there, David gave a commandment, and they were burned with fire. —> As David and the Israelites started to get the victory on the Philistines, the Philistines realized just like they did back in I Samuel 4:7, that Father ELOHIM had come into their camp; therefore they fled as fast as their feet could carry them. Let’s turn back to there for a moment and re-read what they said at that time: I Samuel 4:7 And the Philistines were afraid, for they said, “God is come into the camp.” And they said, “Woe unto us! for there hath not been such a thing heretofore. [4:8] Woe unto us! who shall deliver us out of the hand of these mighty Gods? these are the Gods that smote the Egyptians with all the plagues in the wilderness. —> They knew, just like all the other nations around them, that it was Father ELOHIM Who gave the Israelites the victory.
Another thing to pay attention to in this statement that the Philistines left their idols and false gods and David and his men burning and destroying them, is, that, this is what every Christian should also do to those things which go contrary to Father YHVH and His Word; but in order to do this, you have to know Father’s Word. All things which go against Father’s Word should be put away or destroyed — including and especially false teachings and traditions of man.
14:13 Philistines’ array.
I Chronicles 14:13 And the Philistines yet again spread themselves abroad in the valley. —> This didn’t occur immediately after their defeat, it most likely happened quite a bit of time afterwards. In other words, they had to re-group, maybe even made themselves some new idols and gods first, all before coming back up against Israel.
14:14 Inquiry and direction.
I Chronicles 14:14 Therefore David enquired again of God; and God said unto him, “Go not up after them; turn away from them, and come upon them over against the mulberry trees. —>
David enquired again of God=Again, we see the difference between David and Saul. Every time David is faced with a major decision, he turns to and inquires of Father, Saul on the other hand, almost every time had to be prompted by Samuel or someone else to seek Father’s guidance and counsel.
And God said unto him, “Go not up again”=This is why it is so important that at the juncture of every decision, David, and we, should seek Father’s direction. Notice here, this time Father instructed David to not go up, for, as we’ll see, Father has a different plan this time on how to defeat the Philistines.
And come upon them over against the mulberry tree=As we read above, in II Samuel 5:23, this reads: “but fetch a compass behind them, and come upon them over against the mulberry trees..” So, what Father was instructing David to do was, to circle around the Philistines and then wait on Him as, He’ll first cause a diversion for David, and while that is then taking place and the Philistines attention is drawn elsewhere, then can David and his Army move upon the Philistines and have the victory. Father is not adverse to nor against, using a little covert activity.
14:15 Inquiry and direction.
I Chronicles 14:15 And it shall be, when thou shalt hear a sound of going in the tops of the mulberry trees, that then thou shalt go out to battle: for God is gone forth before thee to smite the host of the Philistines. —> God is gone forth before thee to smite the host of the Philistines=Who is going to fight the battle here? Father is! What He told David was that, when David heard the sound in the tree tops, it meant that His Army — The Army of ELOHIM was moving in for the kill of the Philistines. Remember earlier that I had pointed out that Dr. Bullinger said Father had comtempt and distain for the Philistines? Well, here is the result of that condescension, He is having His Army go before Daivd, and when David hears Father ELOHIM’S Army move, then, David is to have his army quickly strike the Philistines.
This reminds me of a future event to David, and a historical event to us. Elisha, in II Kings 6 is with his servant who had risen early and noticed that he and Elisha and the entire city they were in, were encompassed by an host of Syrians, including horses and chariots. Elisha’s servant was darn near shaking in his boots with terror, and Elisha told him to fear not, for more were with them than with the Syrians, he then prayed that Father open his servant’s eyes in order that he might see Father’s Army surrounding the enemy.
14:16 Defeat of Philistines.
I Chronicles 14:16 David therefore did as God commanded him: and they smote the host of the Philistines from Gibeon (hilly; or, hill city) (ghib-ohnי) even to Gazer (something cut off; or, a precipice) (ghehי-zer). —> David was obedient and listened to Father and therefore, he got the victory over Israel’s arch enemy. What was the result of these victories? Father never changes—as Paul tells us in Hebrews 13:8, which reads: Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.. Just as He fought battles in David’s day, He will also go before us to fight our battles in our lives today. However, when we make our requests known to Father, there are conditions which must be met and followed. You might call them “ifs,” for, these conditions are all found within His Word, and when we do meet those conditions, we can expect Father to keep his promises to us. So, what happened in this war with the Philistines was that Father’s Army did the work, while David and his army received all the credit.
As we read in this verse, our forefathers chased and killed the Philistine army from Gibeon to Gazer. Remember, we had read earlier that the Philistines, when they heard the rustling of Father in the trees, they fled the battlefield; well, our forefathers didn’t just stand idly by and watch as they fled, no, they chased right after the Philistines and killed every one they caught up with.
Gibeon=Our forefathers have a long and storied history with Gibeon and its inhabitants — be they the Amorites, the Gibeonites or the Hivites. Gibeon lay within the territories of the land of Canaan, it was a royal city which had in its day, been greater even than Ai and\or Jericho. When our forefathers conquered and moved into the land, it was given as a possession to the Tribe of Benjamin which was also in the territory of the Tribe of Judah, and then later still, it was given to the Levites. Our forefathers first encounter with the inhabitants was right after they defeated Ai and Jericho, it was then that the Hivites came to Joshua and the elders while they were encamped at Gilgal—lying and purposely deceiving Joshua and the elders and—claiming that they had come from a far away land, their clothes and shoes worn-out, their food dried-out and moldy etc., and saying that they had heard what Father did to those peoples around them, that they didn’t want the same to happen them—the last part of that statement being true—and they wanted to serve and worship Father YHVH. Joshua and the elders—without consulting Father and disobeying Him because, He had told them to utterly destroy any and every peoples they encountered when He brought them into the Promised Land—discovered three days later that they had been lied to, they then confronted the Hivites and called them out, however it was too late because they had already made a covenant with them, and now they couldn’t go back on their word. So, rather than put them out of their camp, they made them temple servants—later called nethinims—having them hew wood and draw water for Father YHVH’s Altar. The most remarkable incident connected with this city was the victory Joshua gained over the kings of Palestine Joshua 10:16-27. The battle here fought has been regarded as one of the most important in the history of the world. The kings of southern Canaan under the leadership of king Adoni-zedek, king of Jerusalem, entered into a confederacy with Joshua and the elders and marched upon Gibeon with the view of taking possession of it. The Gibeonites entreated Joshua to come to their aid with the utmost speed. His army came suddenly upon that of the Amorite kings as it lay encamped before the city. It was completely routed, and only broken remnants of their great host found refuge in the fenced cities. The five Amorite kings who led the army were taken prisoners, and put to death at Makkedah. This eventful battle of Beth-horon sealed the fate of all the cities of Southern Palestine. Among the Amarna tablets is a letter from Adoni-zedec to the king of Egypt, written probably at Makkedah after the defeat, showing that the kings contemplated flight into Egypt. Gibeon is again brought into notice as the scene of a battle between the army of Ish-bosheth under Abner and that of David led by Joab. At the suggestion of Abner, to spare the effusion of blood twelve men on either side were chosen to decide the battle. The issue was unexpected, for each of the men slew his fellow, and thus they all perished. The two armies then engaged in battle, in which Abner and his host were routed and put to flight II Samuel 2:12-17. This battle led to a virtual truce between Judah and Israel,Judah, under David, increasing in power, and Israel, under Ish-bosheth, continually losing ground. Soon after the death of Absalom and David’s restoration to his throne his kingdom was visited by a grievous famine, which was found to be a punishment for Saul’s violation II Samuel 21:2,5, of the covenant with the Gibeonites Joshua 9:3-27. The Gibeonites demanded blood for the wrong that had been done to them, and accordingly David gave up to them the two sons of Rizpah and the five sons of Michal, and these the Gibeonites took and hanged or crucified in the hill before the Lord II Samuel 21:9, and there the bodies hung for six months II Samuel 21:10, and all the while Rizpah watched over the blackening corpses and suffered neither the birds of the air to rest on them by day, nor the beasts of the field by night. David afterwards removed the bones of Saul and Jonathan at Jabesh-gilead II Samuel 21:12-13. Here, at the great stone, Amasa was put to death by Joab II Samuel 20:5-10. To the altar of burnt-offering which was at Gibeon, Joab I Kings 2:28-34, who had taken the side of Adonijah, fled for sanctuary in the beginning of Solomon’s reign, and was there also slain by the hand of Benaiah. Soon after he came to the throne, Solomon paid a visit of state to Gibeon, there to offer sacrifices I Kings 3:4, II Chronicles 1:3. On this occasion Father appeared to him in a memorable dream, recorded in I Kings 3:5-15; II Chronicles 1:7-12. When the temple was built, all the men of Israel assembled themselves to king Solomon and brought up from Gibeon the tabernacle and all the holy vessels that were in the tabernacle to Jerusalem, where they remained till they were carried away by Nebuchadnezzar in II Kings 24:13. † The etymology of the name Gibeon comes from the root גבע and is probably related to the noun גבעה (gibeah), meaning hill: The ון (waw nun) upon which our name ends is a common way to quantify the core idea of a root into a unit that acts out the verb. The name Gibeon literally means Hill Town (New Open Bible Study Edition [NOBSE] Study Bible Name List) or High Hill (Jones’ Dictionary of Old Testament Proper Names). Brown Driver Briggs (BDB) Theological Dictionary does not offer an interpretation of the name Gibeon but does list it under the root גבע.. † Now from the Strong’s Concordance, where we find that it is Hebrew word number: H1391, - גּבעון, - gib‛ôn, pronounced - ghib-ohnי, and means: From the same as H1387; hilly; Gibon, a place in Palestine: - Gibeon. Total KJV occurrences: 37.. † Now from the Smith’s Bible Dictionary, where we read: “(Hill city), One of the four, cities of the Hivites, the inhabitants of which made a league with Joshua Joshua 9:3-15, and thus escaped the fate of Jericho and Ai. Compare Joshua 11:19. Gibeon lay within the territory of Benjamin Joshua 18:25, and with its “suburbs” was allotted to the priests Joshua 21:17, of whom it became afterwards a principal station. It retains its ancient name almost intact, el-Jib. Its distance from Jerusalem by the main road is about 6 1/2 miles; but there is a more direct road reducing it to five miles.”.
Gezer=And in II Samuel 5:23 and I Chronicles 14:16 it is called Gazer. There is some history with our forefathers and Gezer. We find that the first time they had any dealings with Gezer was when they were moving into the Promised Land and Joshua and our forefathers were overtaking Lachish. Horam, the king of Gezer came with his army to try and assist the king of Lachish and his army, but through Father, our forefathers killed Horam and his entire army along with those in Lachish. We next read of Gezer being given to the Tribe of Ephraim as part of their land inheritance however, it was later given as one of the sanctuary, or cities of refuge. † While researching I could find no etymology of the name Gezer. † Now from the Strong’s Concordance, where we find that it is Hebrew word number: H1507, - גֶּזֶר, - gezer, pronounced - ghehי-zer, and means: The same as H1506; something cut off; Gezer, a place in Palestine: - Gazer, Gezer. Total KJV occurrences: 15.. † Now from the Smith’s Bible Dictionary, where we read: “(a precipice), an ancient city of Canaan, whose king, Hiram or Elam, coming to the assistance of Lachish, was killed with all his people by Joshua Joshua 10:33; 12:12. It formed one of the landmarks on the north boundary of Ephraim, between the lower Beth-horon and the Mediterranean Joshua 16:3, the western limit of the tribe I Chronicles 7:28. It was allotted with its suburbs to the Kohathite Levites Joshua 21:21, I Chronicles 6:67 but the original inhabitants were not dispossessed, (Judges 1:29 ) and even down to the reign of Solomon the Canaanites were still dwelling there, and paying tribute to Israel I Kings 9:16. It was burned by Pharaoh in Solomon’s time I Kings 9:15-17, and given to Solomon’s Egyptian wife, and rebuilt by him.”.
14:17 Fame heard in all
lands.
I Chronicles 14:17 And the fame of David went out into all lands; and the LORD brought the fear of him upon all nations. —> When David made that stand and followed Father’s instruction in the course of this war, not only were the Philistines terrorized, but every nation surrounding this entire region heard of the victory, and therefore had respect and fear of David. I’ll tell ya brethren, it doesn’t take long for word of things like this to spread, actually, it probably spread like wildfire throughout all the nations. Father fought the battle when David turned and sought His direction. Then once the battle was won, Father allowed David and His men to take all the credit and glory for the victory, why? for the sake of their own protection in the future.
