1A0 HEBREWS CHAPTER 9
We continue with the Contrasting and Comparing of the Old and New Covenants in this Chapter - Hebrews 9. Before we go any further, let's stop for a moment and look at to understand; what a covenant truly is. A covenant is actually a Testament, much like a person's "Last Will and Testament." A Last Will and Testament is a person's Contract which they make while still alive (and of sound mind), signifying what they desire to happen to their earthly goods and possessions when they die; and that is what must happen for a Last Will and Testament to take effect, the person to whom the Last Will and Testament was written for, must die a fleshly death.
Our Father too made such a Testament, two for them as a matter of fact; the Old and the New. Now, normally if you update you previously written Last Will and Testament, the Old is cancelled out and the New Updated version becomes effective, however, Jesus declares in Matthew 5:17, that He didn't become flesh to destroy the Old Covenant, He came to fulfill it. You could try and argue semantics and say that He stated "law" not Covenant but, be honest with yourself; upon His death the Covenant became effective, and what was written into the Old Covenant? The Laws; Exodus 34:28 And he was there with the LORD forty days and forty nights; he did neither eat bread, nor drink water. And he wrote upon the tables the words of the covenant, the Ten Commandments. -> So then, all the laws are still in effect - He fulfilled them - not destroyed them - the only thing He did away with were the Blood ordinances or "sacrifices." We still have all the Laws, Commandments, statutes, ordinances and testimonies and must follow them for it go be - or go, well with, or - for us.
As we read in our last Chapter, Paul had quoted Jeremiah 31:31-34 and in doing so, he made the Old Covenant a part of the New Testament. Sadly there are a lot of churches and Christians who wrongly like to think and say that "now that we have the New Testament" we can eat unclean animals, contrary to Father's established food laws of Leviticus 11.
Sadly, man likes to walk "by sight and not by faith" therefore he always likes to worship and follow something which he can "see." Father was merciful and gave us the Tabernacle, which represented by its physical presence, symbolically something that man could not see. That physical temple that existed was only a blueprint or pattern for the spiritual Temple that Christ would bring forth.

Hebrews 9:1 Then verily the first covenant had also ordinances of divine service, and a worldly sanctuary. -> That first Covenant which Father made with man had a mundane sanctuary with its regulations for worship, and ceremonies which were different from the laws, commandments and statutes in part. These ordinances were followed and completed during each year for the sake of justifying a person from their sins. The blood ordinances were to give righteousness to the one performing those sacrifices and also the one offering up the sacrifice, thereby giving them justification in Father's eyes.
Some of those ceremonies under the Old Covenant included the slaughtering of a pure and clean animal - sacrificing the blood and parts of that animal on an altar. This was a shadow of the Messiah, Jesus Christ that would be sacrificed on the altar, which in this case was the Roman cross. Jesus Christ fulfilled this act for our sins and shortcomings - not His, because there was no sin in Him.
That old "earthly sanctuary" was temporary and meant that those sacrifices were done in a setting that would pass away. The blood ordinances also were very temporary, and had to be preformed at least once a year, however, the true Temple--the one found in Revelation 21:22--is an eternal Temple, one which will never pass away for God and His Lamb – Jesus Christ, are the Temple.
Hebrews 9:2 For there was a tabernacle made; the first, wherein was the candlestick, and the table, and the shewbread; which is called the sanctuary. -> We find the instructions Father gave to Moses on how to construct the first sanctuary and tabernacle in Exodus 25. The sanctuary (miq-dash, pronounced mik-dawsh, meaning - a hallowed, holy place), while the tabernacle (mishkan, pronounced mish-kawn' meaning - habitation or tent), was a tent made to a pattern that was given to Moses by Father while he was up on Mount Sinai also receiving the Ten Commandments From Father. Within that tabernacle - or tent; were all the items that would become essential for the ceremony Father required for the forgiveness of man's sins. Though as we'll learn in our next Chapter, Hebrews 10, these things could never take away a man's sins: Hebrews 10:4 For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins..
The "candlestick" was the lampstand, it was made of pure gold, a beaten work (one whole piece molded by hammering), with seven bowls - its purpose is recorded in Exodus 25:31-37.
The "table" as recorded in Exodus 25:23-27 was to be overlaid with three layers of gold to represent three crowns. Those three crowns were the "crown of the Law", which represented the atoning blood between it and the cherubim, its executor." The "crown of the Priest", represents its incense fired only by the fire from the altar of burnt offering. The "crown of the kingdom" represented the twelve tribes, symbolized by the twelve loaves of shewbread that was placed on the table. In other words, the law - the atoning blood; the priest - incense by the altar fire; and the kingdom of the twelve tribes of Israel - the shewbread on the table.
Hebrews 9:3 And after the second veil, the tabernacle which is called the Holiest of all; -> The tabernacle represents the abode with our Heavenly Father, with Jesus sitting in His place, at the right hand of the Father. Psalms 110:1 The LORD said unto My LORD, "Sit Thou at My right hand, Until I make Thine enemies Thy footstool." -> This is the verse quoted by Jesus in Matthew 22:41-46. Let's take a look at that passage: Matthew 22:41 While the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them, [22:42] Saying, "What think ye of Christ? Whose Son is He?" They say unto Him, "The Son of David." [22:43] He saith unto them, "How then doth David in spirit call Him Lord, saying, [22:44] 'The Lord said unto My Lord, 'Sit Thou on My right hand, till I make Thine enemies Thy footstool?' [22:45] If David then call Him Lord, how is He his Son?" [22:46] And no man was able to answer Him a word, neither durst any man from that day forth ask Him any more questions. -> So we see Jesus Himself quoted from David here, as did Peter in Acts 2:34-35, and Paul in Hebrews 1:13. This time that our Lord Jesus Christ makes His enemies His footstool is on the "day of Vengeance," or better put "the Day of the Lord - The Lord's Day;" at His return. Then all evil will be gone, and satan will be bound, and cast in the pit for the thousand year period where his spirit will not have the ability to deceive anybody during that time. The things of this earth age of flesh man will be completely done away with, and all mankind will be changed from their fleshly corruptible bodies, into their spiritual bodies - the same bodies that the angels have, for the next thousand year period.
Upon Jesus' death in the flesh on the cross, as we read in Matthew 27:50 Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the Ghost. [27:51] And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent; -> This was at 3:00PM, when the high priest was to go into the temple for the day. I sure would have loved to have been a fly on the wall and saw the look on his face when the veil was rent by Father's hands. [27:52] And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose, [27:53] And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many. -> This was a "one-time" event to show that Jesus had the power over, and just conquered - death. [27:54] Now when the centurion, and they that were with him, watching Jesus, saw the earthquake, and those things that were done, they feared greatly, saying, "Truly this was the Son of God." -> He first went to those prisoners, then to the Father to sit on His right hand and that is where He is to this day. Also, as soon as He rent that veil, He opened to us that we can now--no longer needing a fleshly high priest--boldly go directly to Father.
Hebrews 9:4 Which had the golden censer, and the ark of the covenant overlaid round about with gold, wherein was the golden pot that had manna, and Aaron's rod that budded, and the tables of the covenant; -> The direction by Father to Moses on how to build the Ark can be found in Exodus 25:9-16. Inside the Ark is the golden censer - the censers held the incense which represented the prayers going up to Father; the manna - that angels food which He fed them every day while they wandered the wilderness. These instructions can be found in Exodus 16:31 And the house of Israel called the name thereof Manna: and it was like coriander seed, white; and the taste of it was like wafers made with honey. [16:32] And Moses said, "This is the thing which the LORD commandeth, 'Fill an omer of it to be kept for your generations; that they may see the bread wherewith I have fed you in the wilderness, when I brought you forth from the land of Egypt.'" [16:33] And Moses said unto Aaron, "Take a pot, and put an omer full of manna therein, and lay it up before the LORD, to be kept for your generations. [16:34] As the LORD commanded Moses, so Aaron laid it up before the Testimony, to be kept.; Aaron's rod - which budded after all the congregation of the children of Israel murmured against Father, Moses and Aaron after Father had taken Korah and his ilk Home when they rebelled against Moses and Aaron; and then also the tables containing the Ten Commandments which Moses had had to remake after he had thrown them down and broke them when the Israelites were at the base of Mount Sinai holding their orgy and worshiping the golden calf that they had had Aaron make.
Many people today wonder concerning the whereabouts of the Ark. There really shouldn't be any confusion concerning it's whereabouts as it's location is easily documented in Revelation 11:19: Revelation 11:19 And the temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in His temple the ark of His testament: and there were lightnings, and voices, and thunderings, and an earthquake, and great hail..
Hebrews 9:5 And over it the cherubims of glory shadowing the mercyseat; of which we cannot now speak particularly. -> Cherubims=This has a Messiahic connotation as in that first earth Age; satan and another cherub were protectors of Father's Mercyseat – the judgment seat. It was because of what is written in Ezekiel 28, when he – satan, no longer wanted to be the protector, but instead wanted to sit in Father's seat and be god; that we are in this earth Age we're in right now – the flesh Age. He – satan, will at the end of this Age, try this again when he come prior to Jesus' return – claiming that he is in fact the true Christ. As recorded in Revelation 13:8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. -> Who does this say worships him when he comes in his role of "pretend-to-be-jesus - antichrist? Does it say, just the heathen non-believers, just the buddhists, just the hindu? No; it says all the world! So, are there any at all that will not worship him? Yes; see that clause which says – whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world – that's katabole – Greek word G2602 in the Strong's Concordance, so let's look at it: G2602 - katabolè„, pronounced - kat-ab-ol-ay', and means: From G2598; a deposition, that is, founding; figuratively conception: - conceive, foundation., now let's look at this G2598: G2598 - kataballò„, pronounced - kat-ab-al'-lo, and means: From G2596 and G906; to throw down: - cast down, lay.. This is what Father did when satan fell and drew one third of Father's children with him in his rebellion against Father – he wanted to sit remove Father and set himself up as god of all. Anyway, there were those--Father's Elect-- which stood on Father's side and fought with Him--against satan and those he drew with him--during this rebellion; it is they who have already been judged, when they were in their spiritual bodies – prior to Father destroying that Age and ushering in this flesh Age. How do we know who they are? Revelation 9:4 And it was commanded them that they (those that are coming with satan when he comes in his role of instead-of-jesus) should not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree; but only those men which have not the seal of God in their foreheads. -> What is this seal? It's Father's Word, revealed to them by Father in order that at satan's arrival, they'll make a stand against him and allow Father's Holy Spirit to speak through their mouths as recorded in Mark 13:9-11.
But anyway, before we get too far off-track, Father has poured out his wisdom upon His Elect in these end times, and we know exactly what these symbols, signs and events of prophecy speak of; it is no secret today, like it was in Paul's day. Today we live in a time when all prophecies are coming to pass and being fulfilled very quickly. During Paul's day, most of the things of prophesies that were directed to our generation would be completely incomprehensible.
We cannot now speak particularly=Why can't we do this? Because though we can understand and know the "types" - the patterns, we cannot speak one hundred percent accurate as we don't have that recall memory.
Hebrews 9:6 Now when these things were thus ordained, the priests went always into the first tabernacle, accomplishing the service of God. -> Ordained=When Father established how flesh man would minister in His sanctuary. They--the Levitical priests - the sons of Levi--remember the Levites were the priests but only Aaron and his sons and grandson were allowed to be the high priests--would enter into the sanctuary to minister to the people. These were duties that the priests were bound to. Remember though, this was only a shadow of what would come later. The duties of those priests of the Old Testament was a forerunner of what Christ would be to us, and what Christians are suppose to do.
Hebrews 9:7 But into the second went the high priest alone once every year, not without blood, which he offered for himself, and for the errors of the people: -> High priest alone=When Father established how flesh man would provide for the "type" of high priest. They--the high priest - beginning with Aaron and then his sons and grandsons, would enter into the tabernacle to offer the blood of bulls and goats for the sins of the people, but first he--the high priest--had to offer up sacrifices for himself. If he failed to do this he would be struck dead by Father, and it was for that reason that a bell was sewn into the high priest's robe; if the bell stopped twinkling, the priests knew he had erred and was no longer in the flesh Age, Father had called him Home like he called two of Aaron's sons - Nadab and Abihu.
This entering into the tabernacle - the Holiest of Holies by the high priest, happened only one time per year and that day was on the Day of Atonement - the tenth day of Tisri. Remember, it was a veil that separated the sanctuary and the tabernacle; it is this very veil of the Holy of Holies that our Lord Jesus, when He died on the cross was rent from top to bottom as read in Matthew 27:51. This veil wasn't just any veil like a woman would wear, it was thick and heavy. The reason that that veil was rent from top to bottom was so that no man could it was done by him - no; this was rent by Jesus signifying that now through His name we may boldly approach the very throne of our Father, no longer needing a high priest as Jesus is that High Priest. W can now go directly to our Heavenly Father and ask forgiveness for our sins, and when we make that claim, our authority to stand before God can only be the name of His son, Jesus Christ. Without the shedding of blood there is no remission for sins, and under the old covenant the blood was that of a pure animal, as designated by God. Under the New Covenant the blood that was shed had to be shed only once, and that was the blood shed on the cross on Calvary's hill.
Remember that we are comparing the old temple and tabernacle with the new Temple, which is Christ and the many membered body of Christ. We are comparing how the Old Covenant, or Testament was a pattern, or type of the New Covenant that was established by the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus became the bread of life in the New Covenant that was the manna of the Ark of the Covenant in the Old Covenant.
Hebrews 9:8 The Holy Ghost this signifying, that the way into the holiest of all was not yet made manifest, while as the first tabernacle was yet standing: -> While as the first tabernacle was yet standing=When Jesus died in the flesh and gave up the Spirit; He rent that veil and at the same time tore down the way into the tabernacle. We no longer need a man as a go-between between us and Father; we now go directly to Him in Jesus name.
The Holy Spirit just could not come and be with us until Jesus died on that cross, thereby tearing that veil to the Holy of Holies in twain. So what this is stating in an analogy; is that under the old covenant, when a bull had been slaughtered and its blood shed, that shed blood placed on the altar was for that time only, another needed to be slaughtered with its blood shed the following year. In other words, it became a temporary fix for that year only. The spirit of that bull was not around the next year, nor was it available for any additional sacrifices. We can read Paul explain this several times in this Book of Hebrews, three of them in this Study of Hebrews 9 and once in Hebrews 10:10 By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. -> One time was all that was needed for our Father to sacrifice Himself for us.
And that is great for us under the new covenant; but what about those who died prior to Father sacrificing Himself? What about those who were under the old covenant? Peter explains concerning them in I Peter 3:18-20: I Peter 3:18 For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the Just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit: [3:19] By which also He went and preached unto the spirits in prison, [3:20] Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by the water. -> During those three days after He gave up the Spirit; Jesus went all the way back to the time of Noah, and offered salvation to all those who had died before He became flesh – Father is always fair.
Hebrews 9:9 Which was a figure for the time then present, in which were offered both gifts and sacrifices, that could not make him that did the service perfect, as pertaining to the conscience; -> Which was a figure=this was our schoolmaster of things to come as there is just no way that any fleshly high priest could go before the altar of God and offer an offering of gifts or blood sacrifices to Father which would remove the stain of sin of any person; not even himself. It was only our Lord Jesus Christ which could do that; and that is what He did during those three days He was visiting those spirits in prison. What Jesus gave us was a once and for all times sacrifice, thusly removing the need for the annual high priest visit to the tabernacle.
Hebrews 9:10 Which stood only in meats and drinks, and divers washings, and carnal ordinances, imposed on them until the time of reformation. -> Reformation=In the Greek this means - to set straight. All those things under the old covenant were just examples such those we would use to use to teach a child how learn something. They were just representative of the coming reformation - the setting straight of things. Jesus is the head - that Chief Corner Stone which the builders rejected, while the many bodied members are the tabernacle.
Divers washing=Were representative of baptism, while the Carnal ordinances=were the blood ordinances - ceremonies, it has nothing to do with the law.
Hebrews 9:11 But Christ being come an High Priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building; -> Everything that man builds; sooner or later, comes to an end. That is why this Tabernacle was completely free from man's design. Father built this Tabernacle wherefore man's hands could not touch this building of God, which is the body of Christ. We read in Revelation 21:22 that in the eternity there is no temple building because the Father and the Son - Jesus Christ are the Temple there of.
Hebrews 9:12 Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by His own blood He entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us. -> Jesus being Immanuel – God with us, became flesh and shed His blood on that cross for us. When He died on that cross, He rent the veil from top to bottom, and we now can walk boldly into the Holiest of Holies and speak directly to Father. Year-after-year the High Priest had to go into the Temple on the Day of Atonement and offer sacrifices for the people, but when Jesus went to the cross and died for us, once was all that was needed for His sacrifice; His shed blood. He paid the price for us when we believe upon Him.
Hebrews 9:13 For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh: -> No blood from any animal could ever make a man (no gender involved) clean or take the place of the shed blood of Jesus, and here Paul is saying that if the blood of an animal could have saved us; then there would have been no need of Jesus' sacrifice for us and the Holy Spirit would not have come when He ascended to heaven to be at His place - on the right hand of Father.
The Holy Spirit did not come from the spirit of a bull, a goat, or any other animal. The Holy Spirit came from Father - as promised by Jesus Christ, and came only after the shedding of His blood. You don't need to go to any church or temple, or partake in any kind of ritual or ceremony - salvation comes only by the blood of Christ, and through the working of the Holy Spirit of God.
Hebrews 9:14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, Who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? -> Who without spot=did you hear that? Jesus was and is the only man to ever walk this earth in the flesh Who had no sin. Do you serve Father - the living God - ELOAH? Or are you following some false idol that cannot save anything?
Eternal Spirit=this is the Holy Spirit – Father's Spirit. The blood of Jesus--Immanuel – God with us--which was shed on our behalf, is the offering which was without spot, and it was done in obedience to our Heavenly Father. Purge your conscience of all of your dead works and sins in order that you can serve the Living God. Get those old ceremonies out of your mind and get your mind on that perfect sacrifice - Jesus Christ. When you repent and purge your conscience for any sin under the blood of Christ; it means that Father has completely blotted it out - forever. He never thinks of it again, yes, it is still in our memory in order that we might remember – so that we don't do it again, but for Father; it's like it never happened. You will never stand in judgment for that sin because it is forgiven by Father's love for you. When you think you're too bad for repentance and Father can't or won't forgive you; that is darn near blasphemy and saying that the blood of Christ was not sufficient to cover all sins.
9:15-23 THE OLD AND NEW COVENANTS COMPARED AND CONTRASTED. (Introversion and Alteration)
9:15 The Old Covenant related to the promise of the eternal inheritance.
Hebrews 9:15 And for this cause He is the Mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance. -> A testament is a Will and a Will is on a piece of paper and stays on that paper until the testator--he who wrote that Will--dies. So long as the testator lives; the Will has no effect and is worthless. However, the moment he (no gender) who wrote the Will dies, then those who are written to inherit something are now able to receive their inheritance. Father was and is the writer of both the Old and the New Testaments and as such; He is the Testator and He became flesh in order that He die for us; and upon His death in the flesh; the Will became activated. We, His children who accept and believe are the inhiterors of that Will.
9:16 Death necessary for its making.
Hebrews 9:16 For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator. -> It takes the death of the testator to activate the Will and in this case; the Will is every promise which is stated in Father's Word, which is His Will. Like as any such Will and Testament; many have conditions in order to receive the promises, and it is no different with Father's Will, we read them throughout His Word. You've seen it – if: that is our conditional word; "if" you do some work or a particular thing then you can expect the Blessing to come your way. However, sadly, many Christians today like to over look the conditions, and fully expect Father to fulfill the Promise of His Blessing without having to have met the conditions. They like to rewrite the Will which Father has put together, but: that isn't how it works.
9:17 Reason.
Hebrews 9:17 For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth. -> And so it is; it takes the death of the testator for the Will to become active. He activated the Will when He died--for us who believe--on the cross over two thousand years ago. What was the purpose of His becoming flesh and dying for us? Hebrews 2:14 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, He also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;.
9:18 Blood necessary for its consecration.
Hebrews 9:18 Whereupon neither the first testament was dedicated without blood. -> For the first Testament to be active; it took the death and blood of the sacrificial animal, and not just any animal, it had to be your best animal; one without blemish. The high priest would go to the altar; slay the animal and sprinkle its blood on the altar. Truly, the most precious blood ever shed - was the blood of Jesus, our Father in the flesh. That's how much He loves us, His children. It's free for us; however, He paid an awesome price - His flesh life.
9:19-23 Reason.
Hebrews 9:19 For when Moses had spoken every precept to all the people according to the law, he took the blood of calves and of goats, with water, and scarlet wool, and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book, and all the people, -> Sprinkled both the book, and all the people=aren't you glad you live now and not back then? Can you imagine having to have been sprinkled by the blood of the bull or goat? Today, when we read His Word, we take the Book within us--that is to say, His knowledge, His wisdom--He finds us acceptable to receive the inheritance.
Hebrews 9:20 Saying, "This is the blood of the testament which God hath enjoined unto you." -> There is a great difference between the two sacrifices of blood - that of animals and that of Jesus Christ. The blood of animals could not bring the Holy Spirit after the animal's death. However, once Jesus shed His blood for us, then could the Holy Spirit--which can touch you at any moment--came to be with us as our comforter. John 16:7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you, but if I depart, I will send Him unto you. [16:8] And when He is come, He will reprove the world of sin, and righteousness, and of judgment: [16:9] Of sin, because they believe not on Me; [16:10] Of righteousness, because I go to My Father, and ye see Me no more; [16:11] Of Judgment, because the prince of this world is judged..
Hebrews 9:21 Moreover he sprinkled with blood both the tabernacle, and all the vessels of the ministry. -> As Paul told us in Galatians; the Old Testament was our schoolmaster - Galatians 3:24 Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. -> Therefore, this sprinkling of the tabernacle and all the vessels of the ministry is likewise our schoolmaster in showing us how Father's Spirit sprinkles us with His love, cleansing us from our sin when we repent for and of those sins.
Hebrews 9:22 And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission. -> Just as it takes the death of the testator for the Will to become active; likewise also does it require blood for the forgiveness of sins. 9:23 The New Covenant related to the heavenly things themselves.
Hebrews 9:23 It was therefore necessary that the patterns of things in the heavens should be purified with these; but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these. -> Patterns=copies or "types." But the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices=just as it took the high priest--the "type"--to make clean the people in the Old Testament; Jesus - Melchisedec - The True High Priest is the pattern the "type" was cut from, and it take Him to truly make us clean and free of our sins.
Hebrews 9:24 For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us: -> Figures of the true=these like the "types" are only copies of the true. The high priest had to go into the Holiest of Holies in the Tabernacle when he was cleansing the people of their sins, Jesus the True, rent the veil from top to bottom thereby removing the Holiest of Holies when He became the sacrifice and shed His blood. Jesus paid the price for all of our sins.
When he died in the flesh; He first went and preached to the spirits in prison (I Peter 3:19), then He went to the Father in order to sit on His right hand and be our advocate at the very judgment seat of Father. Today, you have clout in heaven when you believe on Jesus Christ; your only credentials before Father is only in the name - Jesus. That is the only thing (name) that our Father recognizes for the forgiveness of any sin, but yet, His forgiveness covers every sin that you could commit, except the "unpardonable sin" which can only be committed by one of Father's elect when they are called up to give testimony before the satan during his reign on earth in the role of the instead of jesus - antichrist, if that person refuses the Holy Spirit to speak through him or her. Though Jesus Christ is our advocate between Father and us, He is also our advocate between you and your enemies. He is our legal council and the one Who protects you, and puts guards between you and your enemy. He is the one that argues your case in this earth age when things go wrong for you. That is our freedom that we have in Christ. When we repent to the Father in Jesus name, then our sin is forgiven us, and Father doesn't want to hear about it anymore. This is why we should never get on a guilt trip over any sin that has been repented of and forgiven. When you come to the full realization that you have a full time advocate right there at Father's throne against those that would do you harm, then you can say with confidence that there are no giants in the land. Father expects us to use common sense and do our part in His service. That is why He is not interested in "hot house lily" servants, He has warned us that there will be some heat that we will take when witnessing for Him. When you are in His service then you will realize this very quickly, and you will see the power that you have from the Spirit of God.

9:25 Yearly sacrifices ineffectual. Because offered oftentimes.
Hebrews 9:25 Nor yet that He should offer Himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holy place every year with blood of others; -> Blood of others=the blood of animals. Jesus offered Himself to Father as our sacrifice, and once was enough to cover all of our sins - forever.
9:26-28 Christ's sacrifice effectual. Once (hapax)
Hebrews 9:26 For then must He often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath He appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself. -> Jesus sacrificed Himself once and once was enough. Don't ever think you have--because of your sins--to ask Him to sacrifice Himself again. If you fall short and sin, repent and ask Him to forgive you and He will. There is only one sin which is unforgivable and you have not committed it.
Hebrews 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: -> Each of us who have partaken of the flesh will be judged for what we have not repented of, Again, repent and have the sin blotted out, don't hold onto it like some people like to do. People, Christians especially get all scared of the judgment, because they haven't been taught that judgment has two sides, punishment and rewards. If you've repented of all your sins; when you stand before Father for your judgment - what do you have coming? Rewards. So repent and be joyful.
Hebrews 9:28 So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for Him shall He appear the second time without sin unto salvation. -> Jesus' First Advent was as our Saviour, our redeemer; paying that price for our sins with His broken body and shed blood. His Second Advent will be as The High Priest - Melchisedec, Lord of LORDS and King of KINGS. His first coming was as that helpless babe, His second coming will be with that rod of iron for correction. Sadly, many Christians will also be on the receiving end of this rod. Why? II Thessalonians 2:10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. -> Yes, I'm speaking of even Christians, not loving the truth enough to get into the Word, they'd rather listen to man and his traditions and false teachings and when satan comes in his role of instead of jesus, they'll be unprepared for him and accept him as the true when he is not the true but a "type," a false, cheap imitation one at that.
